The Young and the Restless sensational Jeanne Cooper is about to finally have her tell-all memoir, Not Young, Still Restless, released at the end of July.  And now the Daytime Emmy award winning legend, who has played the iconic Katherine Chancellor f0r 39 years on the number one soap,  is talking to promote it in what is perhaps the most highly-anticipated personal memoir of any daytime star!

Today in an item from the New York Post, Cooper talks about the startling revelation in her book that she indeed had an affair with her on-screen son, Brock, played by Beau Kayzer!  Cooper admitted the affair with Kayzer, who was 21 years younger, began after a devastating divorce from her cheating husband which blind-sided her like a sucker punch from a heavyweight.  In discussing how the affair began, Cooper related, “Well, he brought one of the kindest, most grounded, kinds of simplicity to life.  He was a great conversationalist, a poetic kind of person. And you know what? He delivers lines better than anyone I’ve ever known!  We had dinner one night, and then, it went further.  He made the first move. But the age difference was not for me. He kept saying he had no problem with it and that age meant nothing to him.”

As soap fans know, Kayzer still pops up now and then in Genoa City still playing Brock.  And when the NY Post asked if Cooper was still attracted to Beau, Jeanne giggled and said, “I still can’t say ‘hi’ to him without, well, you know.”  Cooper’s memoir, Not Young, Still Restless can now be pre-ordered on Amazon.com!

So what do you think of the affair between Jeanne and Beau?  Shocked?  Not-shocked?  Let us know your thoughts?  One thing is for sure; Cooper will tell it like it is in her new book,  and in a life that has spanned 84 dramatic and fulfilling years, we can’t wait to read it!

Wow!!

It IS shocking, but you know what? As soap fans, we really shouldn’t be shocked by anything, LOL. The actors spend so much time together that those kinds of things have happened over the years…frequently.

And didn’t Mrs. Brady (Florence Henderson) have an affair of sorts with the actor who played her oldest stepson Greg in the ealry 1970s? Jeanne, you do whatever the hell you want with a consenting adult. Oooooooooooh, barraCOUGAR! LOL

I look forward to reading it.Shocked?-no,whatever gets you thru the night, with consenting adults.

Nothing Jeanne says is a shocker and if u have been fortunate enough to meet Beau in person like I have, you would know the attraction he has to women!

I hope she mention all of Terry Lester’s antics. Lots of sex happened in his dressing room various Vamps.

Terry Lester was gay

I think it is wonderful.. Ms. Cooper lived a memory for a lifetime, good for her..
She was happy and enjoyed every minute of their together time..
I bow to the awesome lady!!
She had the courage to what many of us only dream of doing.
We lose she wins !! 🙂

Not shocked at all. Can’t wait to read. Remember when Kay had a lift on Y&R. Love her then & still. Her son Corbin acting skills came from his Mama.

Good for her!!!!! She is an amazing woman and actress and I support whatever makes her happy. Never dreamed Mrs “C” was a COUGAR. YOWZA!!!!!!!

Always new she was a cougar look at all her on tv relationships!

Until a younger woman comes along… I still give her a thumbs up!!!!!!!!!!! I don’t think I would ever do that…I prefer a man to be older than me….Not younger…That would make me uncomfortable…By the way my husband is a few years older than me…That’s the way I like it………

Go girl!

84? Really? I wish Hollywood would realize the vitality of so many like her. The bias against old people seems to remain despite the presence and gifts of Betty White, Cloris Leachman, the just departed Ernest Borgnine… Treasures! I have enjoyed the many memooirs of late… Lucci, Zimmer… This one could be a real winner!

Wow is right!!! I have watched these two actors in their scenes over three decades. It never occurred to me that anything ever went on between them.

It has been a LONG time since something really surprised or interested me about Y&R. Given the unacceptably poor quality of the writing and the complete lack of creativity by the Y&R writing staff, maybe the show would be wiser to give its bland storytelling a rest for a week and just give Cooper five episodes to talk about this type of stuff!!!!

Can’t great to read it! I wonder if she weighs in on the Brenda Dickson stuff too…

Now that’s a bombshell worthy of the Grand Dame of all soaps!! I am THRILLED that the soap icon is publishing a memoir! Art imitating life! What a fantastic title, too! Brava, Jeanne Cooper! Every fan of Y&R should own this book, and I can’t wait to get my copy!

Well he did’nt call her the “Duchess” for nothing. LOL

Go, Jeanne & Beau, Go–Woo, Woo!! 😀 😀

Good for you Grand Dame Jeanne 🙂

Bravo for Ms Cooper. Love it

You Go Mrs.C!!!

Not shocked but surprised,it helped get over the hurt with an adult so good for her.Just because some one is over 60 or even 70 does not mean they are ready for the rocking chair some people are old at 30 age is really only a number its how you live life that really counts. She is one of my favorite actresses.

You go Mrs. C. !!
I love you and respect you so much.
I’m so glad you are still with us on Y&R.
Can’t wait to read your memoirs.
Luv ya

It does not affect me in the slightest, as Jeanne Cooper was a great lady and a real human being, strong attractions happen in life, whether we started out seeking them or not, things happen. Jeanne played Katherine Chancellor for 39 years and will be greatly missed.
she was obviously very honest about the relationship which is to her credit, how many could do the same. She gave us many years of wonderful acting and great storylines. Y & R will never be the same, end of an era.

I love Beau and Jeanne. So what? They are two wonderful human beings.

I have his album. I met Jeanne Cooper at Virginia Center Commons Mall grand opening, I had her to sing “I am gonna live until I die”, that little song that she would do on Y&R at times. What a DIVA!!!!!!!
Brock, you will be missed, what a wonderful actor.

On Thursday June 11, it was announced that The Bold and the Beautiful’s Bradley Bell (executive producer and head writer) is getting into the burgeoning vertical space, and will bring his first microseries, Hollywood Starlet, under his Red Flair Entertainment banner to aTwist (formerly MicroCo) the U.S.-based microseries studio and platform that is set to launch later this summer.

The upcoming microdrama is called Hollywood Startlet and will be led by vertical drama stars: Eric Guilmette (You Belong With Me, Tails of Christmas) and Molly Anderson (We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together) and Bella Mraz (Faceless). Guilmette will also serve as co-producer of the series.

Hollywood Starlet will film at Sunset Las Palmas Studios in Hollywood across multiple stages where CBS’ The Bold and the Beautiful transitioned in 2025 after 38 years at Television City.

The upcoming microdrama was created by Brad Bell; directed and written by Kristen Brancaccio; and executive produced by Anthony Ferrari, Oliver Bell, Paxton Fuller and Graham Lawyer. Bradley Bell and his son Oliver Bell founded Red Flair Entertainment to specifically focus on elevated vertical series.

Microseries are serialized stories designed for mobile-first viewing: typically 40-60 episodes of one to three minutes each, built vertically, and consumed either in moments throughout the day or as a binge experience all at once. This is a fast-growing global category, generating an estimated $10 billion annually worldwide.

By combining Hollywood storytelling with a tech-first production and distribution engine, aTwist is focused on delivering quality vertical content alongside an engagement-driven platform for dedicated fan communities.

aTwist is founded by: chief executive officer Jana Winograde (former President of Showtime), chief creative officer Susan Rovner (former Chairman of NBCU Content and President of Warner Bros TV), and executive chairman Lloyd Braun (former Chairman of ABC Entertainment Group, studio and network, and Chairman of WME).

In a statement on Bell’s upcoming foray into microdramas, Susan Rovner expressed, “Brad Bell is one of the most influential creative forces in daytime television, and bringing him into the aTwist universe is a major moment for us. The Bold and the Beautiful has defined storytelling for decades, and we’re thrilled to collaborate with him as he brings that legacy into a new format with Hollywood Starlet. We think fans are going to love seeing this world evolve in such a fun, fresh way.”

aTWIST TO SERVE UP SLATE OF ORIGINAL MICRODRAMAS

With a track record of building iconic franchises, launching global hits, and transforming creative vision into scaled entertainment businesses, the aTwist leadership team will create a home for original verticals in a multitude of genres, curated acquired microseries, and creator-led innovative narrative storytelling – building a quality-driven, globally scalable microseries ecosystem, rooted in fandom, community, and storytelling excellence.

aTwist is creating original content that spans comedy, drama, unscripted, horror, and romance built for how mobile-first audiences consume content today. From fresh, bold ideas by emerging talent to exciting collaborations with existing IP, brands, and stars, aTwist is establishing a destination for audiences who want engaging stories anytime, anywhere. A platform built to create community around fandoms, a place where consumers can find stories built for joyscrolling, not doomscrolling.

In addition, aTwist recently announced a partnership with BET to develop and distribute microseries across linear and vertical platforms, with a first-of-its-kind windowing model bringing microseries to television while expanding storytelling rooted in Black culture and community. aTwist currently has more than 20 series in production across scripted, unscripted and animation formats, with a strong pipeline of series in development. The studio and platform will deliver a slate of originals that push the current microseries offerings, tapping into underserved fandoms across horror, thriller, comedy, drama, anime, sci-fi and more.

As soap fans know, The Bold and the Beautiful has aired on CBS for 39 years, and is the most-watched U.S.-produced daytime drama in the world. In addition to his work with The Bold and the Beautiful, Brad Bell is also an owner of its sister soap, The Young and the Restless, which has aired on CBS for 53 years.
