This is not the kind of news item we would ever wish to report, especially because it involves one of our very dear friends and colleagues so personally, but so much now has circulated on the Internet that we wanted to pay our respects.

As many fans of The Young and the Restless and Daytime Emmy winner Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters) have been hearing and reading, Kristoff’s 25-year-old son Julian, who has battled mental illness and addiction, and was an incredibly talented artist, died on November 23rd.

Julian’s mother, Mia St. John (Professional Boxer and former WBC champion) took to Twitter with this heartbreaking message yesterday on November 28th in which she shared: “On November 23rd Kristoff St. John and I lost our beautiful son, Julian St John. Our son was the light of our lives, an artist with a beautiful mind and spirit.  He fought long and hard against an illness for which there is no cure. Unfortunately the pain became too great for him and I dare not say he lost the battle–he simply chose to set himself free. My fight for mental health will continue. They may not find a cure in my lifetime, but we can try and prevent the loss of another beautiful soul.

Funeral services will be held this coming week on December 5th, which is Julian’s birthday.  Following services, there will be a reception and art exhibit from Julian’s final collection https://theartofjulian.com/

On-Air On-Soaps sends our love and condolences to Kristoff and Mia.  Please feel free to share your thoughts, prayers, and condolences below in the comment section as well.

RIP JULIAN ,I’M SO SORRY KRIS N MIA

IT IS VERY A HEAVY HEAT HEARING OF THE LOSS OF YOUR SON JULIAN. ME HEART GOES OUT TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY DURING THIS VERY DIFFICULT TIME. JUST KNOW THAT YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE AN ANGEL ON YOUR SHOULDER FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. MY DEEPEST LOVE ALWAYS.

Kristoff i’m so sorry for your loss

My deepest prayers and condolences go out to the family. I am crying because I know how mental illness affects families. I am a member of NAMI. Julian, rest in peace. I am so sorry for your loss. ((hugs)) <3

Very heartbreaking and my deepest sympathy to Kristoff ,Mia and whole family.

Rip Julian.

My heart breaks for both of you,may you son Julian RIP,always know whereever you are or whatever your doing he is always and forever with you ,in your heart and all the priceless memories that you all made together. You and your wife are in my thoghts and prayers.God Bless you all.

What incredibly sad news. My condolences to Kristoff and his entire family.

My heart felt condolences to the St John family. Mental illness is such a tragic disease. It’s very hard on the ones left behind. Again, I am very sorry for your loss.

I had the privilege of coaching Julian and Paris in Middle School and both were so respectful and polite. And so very talented..RIP Julian! Sorry for your loss Mia,Kristoff and Paris.

… Until you meet again have peace ..

When someone like Mr. St. John has been in our homes for years, entertaining us, doing his best to do so, this “real life” tragedy resonates in deeper ways than a “storyline” ever can. With sincere sympathy for such a loss and may light continue to shine on what has taken this young man away, as his mother so eloquently stated. God bless all.

Prayers for the St. John family. Though you would like to have walked that path with him..we all walk a singular road on this Earth..rest assured that your love and patience and frustration and joy were never lost. Parents are the most important people on this Earth aside from the Holy Spirit and you did all that was required of you. Don’t look on things as Illness and addiction but as some of us just being overwhelmed. By life..By just Being…some people peel back a layer of reality and see much more than others and it’s so hard to articulate that. God grant you Peace and understanding in the Midst.

BEST POST I’VE SEEN and i’ve read almost them all…

RIP sweet beautiful Julian. i can’t imagine what Neil(Kristoff St.John is going through and the mother Mia. i am very sad sigh.

RIP in heaven Mr.Julian St.John

When Julian was on Twitter before his art show in Laguna in 2013, he and I exchanged comments on Twitter as I also create art. When calling the Gallery in Laguna, staff were happy to pass along a card to him which was to congratulate him on succeeding in his artistic talents despite his on-going illness. I mailed a card from Vancouver, Canada. So happy to be supportive. He did let me know of receiving my card and how it delighted him sent from so far away.

Was aware he’d been struggling over the past year and tonight before midnight, read of his passing on his dad’s FB page.

I am very saddened at the loss of such a talented young man. My heart is heavy that despite all loving efforts of family, friends and even the medical community, he succumbed to the pain, which can be physical as well as mental pain and he is now free of that pain.

I would suggest that if readers here could order the book published of Julian’s art, it would surely be appreciated by his mom and dad. The book is titled: “The Story Of Jewels.” It can be ordered on Amazon.com

I like to think that artists who are no longer with us can sit on rainbows and look down through all the colours knowing what they created will live on and be appreciated.
We can all do that for Julian – appreciate Julian’s gifts to our world.

RIP dear man.

my deepest sympathies to Kristoff and his family. Mental illness is so difficult to understand unless you go through it with a family member as I have this past year. May your son find the peace he could never find in this life in the after life. No parent should ever suffer the loss of a child…no matter their age or circumstances. RIP Julian.

Our heart breaks for y’all

Devastating. Tears streaming. A parent should NEVER have to bury their children.

Mental illness is so prevalent-2 years ago I lost my beautiful 17 yr. Old nephew, Corey to suicide.

Y&R: PLEASE, PLEASE fix your Sharon bipolar storyline! It’s REVOLTING!!! Once again, the mentally ill character who strives to overcome and changes her life loses everything over what her sick self did, but her tormenters, also clearly sick, just smirk and spend Thanksgiving with family. Way to tell viewers that may struggle with some form of mental illness that it’s better to just keep it under wraps or everything in your life will fall apart. Why can’t you write a responsible bipolar or mental illness s/l?

So very sorry for your loss Kristoff and Mia,my prayers go out to you and your family.

So very sorry Kristoff and Mia, for the heartbreak of loosing your precious Julian. Prayers for strength and courage for the days, months and years ahead and prayers that Julian is at peace <3

My deepest sympathies to Kristoff and his family. What a heartbreak. I am so sorry.

I am so sorry for their loss and prayers to the family.

i am so sorry for ur lose..i have a daughter who has mental illness and bipolar….. i will be praying for yall

My prayers go out to you and your family . May he rest in peace . We all have deamons some of us just learn how to control them and some of us need to get help. Now you as parents need to get help to get though this . It can only do good for you. I’m sure your son didnt do this to hurt you but to ease his pain . Be strong you have so meny people that will help you get though this time of sorrow .God Bless you and your family.

what i hear in mia’s words are the words of someone who clearly loved and supported her son through his illness. mental illness is sadly still stigmatised and trivialised. clearly, julian’s parents weren’t like that, and i’m sure that even though he found life too hard to bear, he knew that his parents had always been there for there. that’s something i’m sure he was grateful for, and hopefully, they will be able to hold onto that as they mourn the loss of their child. deeply saddened.

I want to send my thoughts and prayers to Kristoff and Mia and all the St. John family. I am so sorry for your loss. May he RIP.

I can’t begin to comprehend the grief the St. John family are going thru, I truly hope their beloved son is at peace and the family will begin to find healing.

My prayers and thoughts are with the entire St. John family in this time of great tragedy.

I want to send my thoughts and prayers to Kristoff and Mia and all the St.John family. I am so sorry for your loss. May he RIP.

RIP JULIAN St. John <3 To Kristoff and Mia, my comdolences are deeply genuine and heartfelt. You truly DO have an angel now who is free and at peace.
Being 26, having bpd/bipolar myself and ALSO being into the arts.. I mean, this news hits too close to home and is a real tragety. MENTAL ILLNESS IS NO JOKE! May society smarten up and health care systems find ways to always improve availability of resources!
Kristoff, as Neil, your character is iconic and so sweet and I picture you also like that off the show. Stay strong and hoping you and your wife get through this time together. 🙁
Spread the awareness ppl.

I pray for the family.

He’ll bring his charms and gladden you, but should his stay be brief, you’ll have his loving memories, as solace for your grief….Rest in Peace Julian

My condolences to the ST. John family. I am so sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry for your lost may god find you peace and comfort at this time of sorrow you and your family will be in my prayers…god blesss

Kristoff is the best I’m very sorry for your loss!

Very sad news. Thoughts and prayers to the family.

So sorry and our prayers are with you Kristoff and Mia.

sincerely sorry for your loss and reach put to you with understanding that comes from having a brother, cousins, friends and stepson who are in recovery. Focusing on the peace that Julian has now is not easy, but for him, the battle is done, he is no longer a prisoner of this disease, he is no longer an addict. Your family will always be in my thoughts and prayes.

So very heartbreaking my deepest sympathies to you and Mia.

In the heart of darkness it is hard to see a light
It is difficult to imagine a future that is meaningful and bright
Drowning in a sea of sadness it is hard to find a rope
It is difficult to cling to concepts of possibility and hope
In the shadows of despair it is hard to believe in love
It is difficult to accept oneself as being vital here and above
But difficult is not impossible, nor is now forevermore
There is a passage, there is a door.
It is too late for some, they grew too weary to chase the way
but it is not too late for you, my friend, keeping seeking– I pray.

My deepest condolences to his family and friends— we lose so many talented and beautiful souls to mental illness, may society become more accepting, more compassionate to those who suffer from the diseases of the mind.

St John i so sorry for your loos om big fan

Amen!

Sending Love and Prayers to your family at this tragic time. May God bring you peace. Rest in Peace Julian. Fly with the Angels. x

‘General Hospital’s’ Dominic Zamprogna Shares He Was ‘Happy to Hear’ of The Triangle Storyline Developing Between Dante/Elizabeth/Ric

Published

on

By

Dominic Zamprogna

General Hospital’s Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri) opened up about the burgeoning love triangle forming between his Port Charles alter-go, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) after recently aired scenes, plus his hopes for the future of a Dante and Liz pairing, during his appearance on the Sunday, April 23 edition of the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli).

On last week’s episodes of GH, Ric has made the decision that he wanted to propose to his ex-wife, only when he showed up at Elizabeth’s front door, he misread the scenario he walked in with Liz tending to Dante’s injured leg from the softball game. From there, the legal eagle’s jealous streak is reemerging which may cause him to act out and do something unforgivable, or will he take the high road? Stay tuned.

Speaking with Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson about where Elizabeth stands in the annals of the long-running soap, Zamprogna said, “She’s up there with Steve and Maurice (Maurice Benard) as one of the most legacy-filled people on the show.”

HOW DANTE AND ELIZABETH CAME ABOUT

Dominic jokes it’s a far cry for where Dante and Elizabeth previously, recalling, “We had some scenes together years ago and we were both laughing. Becky’s like, ‘Well, I guess we’re not going be paired up anytime soon.’ I remember we laughed immediately after they yelled ‘cut,”‘and said to each other, ‘Well, so much for that!'”

Fast-forward to early 2025 and as Zamprogna remembered it, “Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) came up to me at the General Hospital Christmas party, and I think it was a year and a half ago and she said, ‘We’re going to have you in scenes with Elizabeth,’ My internal monologue is going, ‘I’m not with Lulu (Alexa Havins) anymore and Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) gone, so maybe they want to see if this works.’ I didn’t want to get scenes with Becky and try to find the chemistry. I just wanted to play whatever honestly was written and came across for both of us and hope it was what people liked, and I don’t know if it is … or not.”

Knowing how beloved Elizabeth is to the GH faithfuls, Zamprogna added, “She got a big fan base with Ric … and a big fan base with with Jason … and you know, you’re going to piss somebody off. But, didn’t Ric drug Elizabeth and put Carly in a panic room?”

DANTE AND ELIZABETH PAIRING COULD STIR UP STORY FOR OTHERS IN PORT CHARLES

In closing, Dominic felt that the wide-reaching tentacles of a Dante and Elizabeth relationship is something he is 100% down for. “The triangle thing; I was happy to hear it was with Ric and her, because I felt it’s important to have her the top of it as opposed to Dante, Lulu and Elizabeth.”

Zamprogna added, “When you get into relationships on a soap, things seem to fizzle out a little bit, The buildup is what’s the fun part, and the getting to know each other, and the people who are affected by this coming together. When with this case it’s going to affect: Ric, Sonny, Lulu. There’s so much more story here. To me, it’s going to be a fun story to play.”

You can check out Dominic’s visit to That’s Awesome with Steve and Bradford below.

Now weigh-in: Are you rooting for Dante and Liz, or Dante and Ric at this juncture of the story, or neither guy  for Elizabeth? Let us know your thoughts and picks via the comment section.

While Smitty tries to hold the fort down in his marriage to congressman Martin Richardson (Brandon Claybon)  and their two teenaged children, Samantha (Najah Jackson) and Tyrell (Jaden Lucas Miller) on Beyond the Gates, Emmy-winner Mike Manning has also landed another feature film role.

The movie is currently shooting in Chicago and in story, “a cult leader is put on trial after causing his devoted followers to be burned alive. The film is inspired in part by events surrounding the 1993 Waco, Texas, standoff between members of the Branch Davidians church and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, one of the largest civilian firefights ever recorded on American soil.”

In addition, the multi-talented Manning is a producer on the feature. GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

Published

on

By

Patrick J. Gibbons

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.

However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.

Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG

Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!

Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”

MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL

Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).

Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY

Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”

It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”

A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS

As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”

He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”

Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.

So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.
