Things are about to get red hot next week on The Young and the Restless as summer temperatures are rising!

In the latest promo released on Friday, none other than Jill played by the phenomenal Jess Walton happens upon Billy (Jason Thompson) and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) in the throes of passion. Later, Jill confronts Phyllis and says, “What were you doing in my son’s bed?”  How will Phyllis get out of this one?  Will she? Having a master manipulator like Jill know your secret can’t be a good thing!

Meanwhile, it looks like Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) is infliatrating Billy’s  life, as her takedown revenge scheme on Adam (Justin Hartley) continues on.  And, is Billy her bady daddy? In addition, it looks like Victor (Eric Braeden) is up and about reclaiming his life!  Plus, Cane (Daniel Goddard) and Lily (Christel Khalil) hit the sheets!

So, what do you think about Jill being the one that finds Phyllis in bed with Billy?  Shall we say … let the fireworks begin?  Watch the latest promo from Y&R after the jump, and then share your thoughts and theories in the comment below!

Glad it’s Jill. She’s the only one who can go head to head with both Phyllis and Billy. Plus it gives more screen time to Jess W. And I’m really getting tired of Phyllis’s “conundrum.” As for Billy, he’s a train wreck, and as same-old as Patrick could be sometimes on GH, I liked prefer Jason back in PC.

Jason Thompson has been given much more to work with as Billy Abbott than he was given to work with as Patrick Drake. He’s become a leading man on The Young and the Restless, something he was kept from becoming on General Hospital.

Hi Scott..
naww that’s not true..
Jason Thompson/Patrick was a big star of GH. A leading man for decades.
He and Robin, both, were stars, great stories..
When Kim/Robin left then after poor Patrick was left alone with no more anything.

I like JT’s Billy much better than Billy’s Billy ..

You’re right Scott about Patrick having more to work with at Y&R. and I do like him as an actor. I’m just having a hard time liking the Billy character. Have the same problem with Liam on B&B.

Decades, Su? 2005-2015. That would be a decade.

I am ready to kick both Phyllis and Billy to the curb, Rose. Her act of perpetual martyrdom and his of the family drooling brat is getting too, too old.
I suppose Jill is the only one who can beat some sense into both of them….as her story goes: been there, done that.

Jill is the last person who has room to judge considering her history.

I cannot stand what Billy and Phyllis are!! I do not care what ‘hurt’; what ‘itch’ brought these two together. You crave the flesh of another man, Phyllis? Your brother-in-law’s? Get a darn divorce and hop on Billy’s and every other bed in GC. And, you, Billy? Stop being the proverbial forlorn hot to trot, salivating tomcat, teen-ager after his first infatuation.
Okay, whew!! Now, that I got that off my chest; Jill is the last to talk. She was ( she may still be) as unscrupulous and as immoral as her son. I have it from the best source, my nanna, that Jill slept with Jack while married to his father, John Abbott.
I am glad the cat ( haha) is finally out of the bag.

hey CC..
I luv Phil & Bill !!!
At least they can get it on lol
Jack is a dull and sexless as toenail nail clippings.

((I am really disgusted ishy with the mens haircuts, they look like a halfazzed mohawk greased down.. yuck (in both gh n yr ..

Oh my gosh Sooooo you made me laugh with the new hair cut. I was wondering if it was a new male style. It looks terrible but I read that he’s a new father so I assume it’s easier to shower, shave, feed baby battle, brush teeth & go to work. I love Jill being back. I wish they would bring Tracey Abbott back as well. It was no surprise that old Vic got out of jail for the umteen time but I hope Chloe gets him good.

“…Jack is a dull and sexless as toenail nail clippings ”

I appreciate the in your face honest when it has to be

if Y&R has any respect and class left… they will right the ship that is : Abbott

Peter Bergman’ Just Jack solidified this SHOW

right – alongside – Victor Newman ’nuff said

WRITERS : this is the perfect time to right the wrong of how weak Jack is written

dear old bag scum that Victor is …. still “mans” UP

REAL’ly… why not JACK ?

this show is ” ALL ” that and a bag of chips with the Newman Clan

gawd who can stand it

BRING BACK Jack of ole’ lets hurrah this man and applaud

@Nikki.
Hi, Nikki,
I had replied to your question, but I do not see my comment.
I don’t know about Jason Thompson’s haircut, but, yes, Nicks is a ‘comeback’ hair-style from the 30’s. I actually like it. Then again, Joshua Morrow is so hot, it makes no difference what his hsir looks like….well, as long as it’s clean. Unwashed hair is a complete turn-off.
And, I like Jason’s hair when it’s longer. I guess it’s easier to manage?

Totally agree! Those two are disgusting, and in my opinion, have
no chemistry anyway.

May be old-fashioned, but my view is if people get a yen for
someone other than their spouses, at least get a separation,
if not a divorce, before jumping in another bed.
But I know it’s a soap, so what would be the drama in that?

I am not really buying the constant angst, either, that Phyllis
portrays…nothing about this affair rings true for me, or has
ANY appeal.

Jill also slept with Katherine Chancellor’s husband Philip and had his baby….

Yes, Jimmy, she did. Low morals, all around.
But, at least, she wasn’t married to Mr. Chancellor’s father.
Sleeping with her stepson was just trashy. So, perhaps Jill should school Billy, considering she did something similar. Then again, this is so typically Billy. It is the second time he has slept with one or more of Jack’s wives.
I don’t think he slept with Nikki. YET!!

Hey Jimh..
Y&R has the most recycled couples / bed hopping, than any other soap.
Seems everyone has had sex with everyone, at one time or another lol ..

Celia…my dear, your nanna is ABSOLUTELY RIGHT ON about Jill!!!!! W-A-Y back in the day, Jill was QUITE THE HUSSY!!!!! Celia…check this out: Over the years, some of Jill’s, uh, ‘men’ were the following: Jack, a masseuse named Sven (who, later on, tried to kill her), Rex Sterling (who was married to Katherine), Michael Crawford (a lawyer), John Silva (another lawyer), Victor (he and Jill once had a one-night stand), Jed Sanders (a guy who, supposedly, was Nina Webster’s biological father), etc. The list goes on and on…LOL!!!!! Y-e-p.

Take care, my friend.

Wow, Jay. Thanks for that!! My Grandmother didn’t dig that deep. She just called Jill a run-of-the-mill ‘bleep’. If I used some of her Scottish colorful language, you would turn crimson. And, she makes no excuses, either. Later, pal.

Oh, Jay…don’t forget Nikki; the other doozy. She slept with her son-in-law, Cole Howard. Was that his name? Not sure.
Well, they are both stellar actresses. They play their respective roles to the max. I do not necessarily like the characters (Nikki still ‘falling’ for Victor’s ‘truth’), but, my gosh….they are resilient.

Add Derek Thurston to that list! And Stuart Brookes.

Oh, Celia, you always say it better than I can. You know, they have “ruined” Phyllis for me several times before, but Michelle Stafford was so great she somehow won me back. Gina T is also a formidable actress and I hope she can do the same. As for Billy, I still ache for Billy Miller’s beautiful face and eyes and hair and explosive talent in this role. So I fear Billy may be permanently over for me. As for Jill…pot meet kettle. But hopefully it will still be great fun to watch!

The fact that Jill has walked a mile in Billy’s shoes is all the more reason why it is perfect that she is the one who discovers him in bed with his sister-in-law.
Jill will not engage in moral posturing, she will not play the Church Lady to her sinful, disgusting, gyrating, revolting, fornicating son.
Rather, she will tell him exactly what he stands to lose with this torrid affair. She’s lived it, who better than Jill to give her son the what for?

Jack was anything but boring when Terry Lester played him he was smoldering he made these young actors look like amateurs

phylis and billy just dont work,,, scenes are even awkward between the two actors,,,the billy character is being written so out of character its hard to get into,,,,as for jill jess just isnt around enough to keep the character interesting,,,either recast or write out the character all together,,

Blame the writing, not a talented actor who is doing his job.

ava try reading very carefully what i said no where did i say anything about the actor,,in fact i stated the writers so understand before commenting wityh your snotty lil remarks,,

Chill out! He wants MORE of Jill, whomever!

Agreed. I wish the writers would get that, randy.

Sometimes no mater how great you think an actor is they just don’t get the character I can’t stand what he has done and Jill is a waste of air time! Move on

Randy–Phyllis and Billy are great at acting all Randy around each other.
I don’t like it but I do like it. These two have great chemistry.
I honestly think this storyline wrote itself when the producers saw what they had with these two actors.

I can’t wait for the scenes with Jill and Phyllis and the whole reveal. The only thing I am SICK of is Cane and Lily. My God they screw so much and it’s always the same result. Don’t either of them have anything to do? Cookie baking for Lily? Meetings for Cane? Soccer practice? Anything? I hate how the only thing those do is the “deed”. Give them a real story. Daniel Goddard is getting a little long in the tooth to be shirtless in every scene. He can act, give him a real story.

For me, I’d rather see Cane and Lily take the backseat, and bring back Michael and Lauren to the forefront of the canvas. Trading one couple for another.

And, if they have to write Adam off, I’d rather see them pursue the Cane and Chelsea pairing; they teased it a few years back, but never pursued it!

I would like to see Chelsea move to Paris with Connor.

I get it, Timmm. You do not like the character of Chelsea but, I happen to thoroughly enjoy her character and what she brings to the canvas.

Mateo is right about Daniel Goddard. He is criminally underused and misused as just eye candy. He has a lot more to offer. Maybe his resumption of career in business will help facilitate that. Lily has become such a dull, predictable character that I feel sorry for Ms. Khalil.

Agreed–he’s a damn fine actor. I loved the scene which transpired between he and Billy. Loved the way Cane grinned after Billy punched him in the mouth before he slugged him back. In fact, that grin was reminiscent of his daddy’s grin–they do look alike. Why not bring back Colin (Tristan Rogers) and give father and son an exciting story? I think Goddard is wasted on that simpering fool, that forever 21, twit named Lily.

Love Lily….she is a very pretty ornament. But, the writers have turned her into a shrew, for one so young.

Daniel Goddard is a cheerleader of this show where is a storyline where is their home! God I hate Phelps and Pratt for literally destroying this show

I like Lily when she goes after Hillary!!!

Right, Souphound. As I said, I always loved Lily. But, I think the actress is written more as a middle-aged woman than a young woman in her twenties.
The behavior doesn’t fit the role, in my opinion.

Lily has been ruined on the altar of Cane. It was good to see him deck Billy, for sure, but the crap Cane has pulled for so long on so many is even worse.

it’s Billy Chloe should be going after not Adam,

jill will probably ask viki to come to brass and sassy,

hope the baby is kevin’s ,but chloe will lie and say bella is bill’s.

Yes, meg, I also fear that. They’re making Chloe such a wacko that would be right up her alley. Wonder if Victor knows whose it is. Hard to believe he won’t have an opinion.

I thought the same thing, meg.
Now we know Bella is Billy’s. Chloe had his semen ( her hand-bag) in a neat, little receptacle with his name printed on it.

I imagine scenes with Jill yelling at Billy, saying the same old
things about how he should grow up and stop being self-destructive
and selfish and cruel, etc etc.
But will she tell Jack?

Phyllis and Billy are the best part of the show. Hands down.

Gina and Jason work very well together (did I say how pretty they are?) and have amazing chemistry. Nobody can say they don’t with the new promo.

Both actors are great and and they make things real.

I agree with you. I love both actors and they are certainly hotter together than with Victoria and Jack. I love what they’ve done with their portrayals though the writing is poor, as usual.

Well, Jack’s not even in the running anymore. Bad mistake matching him up with someone (Gina) young enough to be his daughter. Ugh!!
Also, Gina Tognoni has never been known as the sex kitten. She’s a wash compared to Michelle Stafford. Great body; great actress; no sex appeal…same goes for Thompson.
But, it is preference and what pushes our button. This couple just doesn’t do it for me.

You should watch their love scenes on Guiding Light and General Hospital.

And Michelle Stafford CHOSE to leave. Just move one.

Yes Stafford left and I for one can’t get into her character Nina on GH sometimes you just have to shelve characters on soaps we have been thru how many Billy’s? Billy was off the canvas for years they should have taken their lumps and moved on . The same with Adam I think JH is a good actor but no edge to Adam

So sick of Billy & Phyllis! Please end this storyline soon!! Also, Jason Thompson is a tad bit too old to play Billy as a spoiled brat. Jill, give them hell!!

Jason Thompson has nothing to do with Billy being “a spoiled brat”. Blame the writing.

No one ever said Jason Thompson was a spoiled brat. I said BILLY was. Please do not confuse actor with character.

Where did I say that?

I know you said BILLY was a spoiled brat.
You also said JT was too old for that. So yeah, blame the writing. He is just an actor who he is doing his job. You can’t blame him for the lame writing.

You said it just above me, right here. Ergo, my reply. Why do you attack everyone for having an opinion?
Read your statement. Figure it out!! “Jason Thompson has nothing to do with Billy being a “spoiled brat”. That sentence suggests that, I, called JT a spoiled brat. You misread everyone’s intent.
Please let’s end this nonsense. It’s getting out of hand.

Blame the casting director!

I agree, Lew. He can’t play the part as an overage frat boy the way Billy or even Burgess did. It’s just not playing for me.

What I hate is how Ashely and Jack sit around and talk about Billy’s love life. They act like he’s sixteen, not thirty-six!

Eileen Davidson is being wasted on this show as others Pratt must really hate women I know Phelps did

k/Kay–I also hate how they wasted Michael E Knight and now they are letting him go. It’s very sad. Some of us tunned into Y&R just to see him !

CHLOE: Hendrickson did not attend rehearsals for the 36th annual daytime emmy awards. This fact could hinder any daytime win. Can a sincere apology correct this oversight in the minds of the voters?

What has Pratt done to this show? First Billy & Phyllis would never have happened with the history of her taking her grand baby back from Victoria & Billy. I absolutely hate this version of Billy and Gina was too young for Phyllis and wait until Daniel comes back no way could these two be Mother and son. It’s just awful every character on this show he has ruined just awful.

It’s a soap.

Billy was engaged to his rapist Chelsea.

Why couldn’t Phyllis and Billy happen?

Because he was not even bloody born when Phyllis came on the scene!

….Because this ‘coupling’ would have never gone down if things had stayed status quo……Because this Billy is in lalaland, living in a fantasy of his own making, Ava. I do believe that the writers may be purposely writing Billy this way to accelerate what an idiot he really is. A misfit.
With all due respect, you need to not misinterpret what we write.

Cassie died 11 years ago before Summer’s birth.
Summer is 21.
What does age mean in a soap?

Billy in lalaland… LMAO
Yah, I’m not going to try arguing with you.

Ava, you’re doing a damn fine job irritating folks in here but thank you for the reminder that it’s a soap opera. Some of us were on the phone with the airlines trying to book a ticket to Genoa City for our summer vacation with visions of hanging out in the coffee house and later going for a dip in the Newman Towers swimming pool.

Pratt has ruined this show – somebody show him the exit, please! Anyone who claims to enjoy the offal that is being chucked into the airwaves needs a labotomy, STAT!!!

Well, I enjoy the show………and I do not plan to join the Frances Farmer society thank you very much.

For me, the story line is beyond ridiculous ~ however I am thrilled to see fore of Jess on screen. Her Oregon home is not far from me! What’s up with Gina T. not finishing words? Examples: gonna, wanna, tryin ~ where in the world was she raised and does the script actually call for those pronounciations?

I hadnt really noticed the “gonna, wanna”, etc., but I think it was Harry (?) awhile
back who mentioned her always speaking in a whisper, and THAT I notice more
lately…kind of annoying!!

She is a much better actress then this but she does not fit the character! Phyllis should have been shelved as should have Billy !

I confess to comparing Gina with Michelle .. which I shouldn’t do

It’s a realistic portrayal; a lot of people say “gonna”, “wanna”, etc.

I’m gonna kill you! Says Sonny almost every day.

It’s called slang, Helen. Perfectly acceptable in dialogue an colloquialism. As a matt er of fact, even in script; it is considered acceptable as long as it is in quotes.
I just cringe at Phyllis’s hushed tones. I need hearing aids.

This upcoming week looks fantastic! Love that Jill is back in the swing of things, and it looks like it’s going to be another fun-filled, adventurous week!

I totally agree with you on the Jill factor. I am hoping that this time she brings her hubby along with her. I have been a fan Tristan Rogers since the glory days of GH, watching him strutting around Cassidine island shirtless. I also love when he has scenes with Daniel Goddard. Listening to two Aussie accents for the price of one. Wonderful!! I am hoping with Jill back, Lauren could be front and center a little more. Send Stitch and Abby to be with Max, and take Lauren and Michael out of hiding. We can only hope that Ms. Walton stays longer than a few days this time. I wm hoping that the re renovation of the house is a sign of good things to come

yes!

It’s gonna be YUUUUUGE! …

Yuge?
And SaopQueen, I could not agree with you more as evidenced with my above post on the same subject.

Lol…that was your Bernie impersonation, right Su?

When Jill slept with Jack years ago when she was married to John the storyline was great Katherine had the goods and toyed with them gosh I miss thiose days. Jack has been neutered and so has Jill

Katherine forced Jill to give her a pedicure–it was soap opera historical gold!

I wish I had had been born and old enough to have witnessed that, Osgood. Alas, I am delegated to watching clips on Utube.

My problem with Phyllis is that the writers have her playing holier than thou when it comes to Victor. She states that he should be in prison for what he did to her; she should have choked when she said that because writers are allowing her character to get away with attempted murder. When one set of writers allowed that to happen , it caused me to leave the show for a while. Even worse, the same writers gave Christine , Paul , and other characters amnesia because not a soul mentions the incident..

You ‘betcha’, Belle. Your words are music to my ears!

Nikki Newman gives ALL women a bad name! All the diamonds and furs and she is still nothing more than a cheap stripper! The way she held her head high in the courtroom as she testified on behalf of the almighty greatness that is Victor Newman! What a dumb, rich, classless tramp! All those Newmans looked cheap!

Yeah, Timmmy. Why does Nikki fluctuate like that? I mean, the writers , new team or not, copy each other. The are making a mockery of family and marriage. It just is sooo out there. Now, everything is la-di-da again. I give them six months, TOPS!! What next? Victor is out of jail….feels invigorated and rejuvenated….life is wonderful.
Victor feels so ‘springy’, he invites Meredith to move in with them. Nikki hits the bottle again. And, life goes on.

Victor is like the 1960’s Batman, no matter who shows up to fight him, The Joker [Nikki[ The Riddler [Nick] or Catwoman [Victoria] he defeats them every time! Yawn, yawn, yawn!

@Timmm.
Great analogy, Timmmy. Got me laughing…love it!!

Celia…’six months’, huh??? Sorry, my dear, but I give them W-A-Y less time than that…LOL!!!!! I mean…to me, BOTH Victor and Nikki each fall apart (or whatever) AT LEAST once a week…EASY…MORE LOL!!!!!

Just saying……….

Later, my friend.

Tim…laughing-wise, you’re killing me here…LOL!!!!! Oh…and BTW, as always, you are TOTALLY SPOT ON!!!!! Also, more and more, all of those serious looks on Nikki’s face make her look like she wants to constantly throw up…MORE LOL!!!!! Bottom Line Here: Nikki is nothing but a HUMORLESS DOWNER!!!!!! Beyond lame.

Later, dude.

Yeah, Jay. You are probably right. I am just tired of watching these two….The writers are not holding my interest when they keep pulling these stunts with Nikki. They make her out to be a real bimbo. This is love? No, this is insanity.
Couples normally look forward aging together in peace.
The kids are gone, the family is healthy, his legacy is sealed. They should take trips with their youngest grandchildren….These writers give married couples’ future a bad name.
I look forward rocking in my rocking chair on the porch with my aging husband rocking with me. LOL.

AND Jay, I guess vodka cures MS???

Tim…dude…’Vodka’ (and all other forms of alcohol)…which makes Nikki look EVEN MORE STUPID!!!!! Truly pathetic.

Later, Tim.

Poor Jill. That’s a sight nobody should have to see

But, a super-delish one, Boes.
Uh-oh….Jill, the watchdog, is on the prowl. I have been waiting a while for this ‘confrontation’. I surely hope the ‘castigation’ will leave a few burn marks as Jill rakes Phyllis through the coals. So well deserved; Jill, ma’am.
I understand Jill skipped ‘through the tulips’ more times than she can even remember. But, this is her SON, her baby. Puts a different spin on things.
All I can say is, “Go get ’em ratz”!!!!!!!

My super-delish was meant sarcastically, Boes. I am no fan of neither this Billy-type, nor this Phyllis-type. I know I am not being fair; but I actually welcomed these two great actors with open arms.
Sadly, and I really mean that, they did not come through for me. Gina is too young, and Jason is too old, as was Burgess. Billy Miller is only a few years younger, but he looked boyish…..In my mind’s eye, I saw him with his hands in his jeans’ pockets, kicking rocks. He was so endearing to me as Billy A, I could forgive him anything.
Maybe, if I did not see the disgusting side of this pairing ( the cheating with one’s in-laws) I may have had a different opinion.

Timmm you are right on. I knew he would walk before the court case. If this we’re real life he would still be in jail for locking up Julia (his first wife) in the basement so many years ago but it’s a soap I guess it’s ok as long as nobody tries to live it!

‘The Bold and the Beautiful’s’ Heather Tom on Working with TV Son Crew Morrow: ‘I’ve Always Wanted to Play an Overprotective, Overbearing Mother’ (Exclusive)

Published

on

By

Heather Tom, Crew Morrow

In an ironic twist of fate, and only in the soaps, The Bold and the Beautiful’s Heather Tom’s (Katie Logan) on-screen son is played by Crew Morrow (Will Spencer), the now 21-year-old son of her former TV brother on The Young and the Restless, Joshua Morrow (Nick Newman).

For those who have followed the six-time Daytime Emmy-winning actress’ career, Tom began on Y&R back in 1990 as Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor’s (Eric Braeden) daughter Victoria Newman. She played the role until 2003. Four years later, she joined the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful and has been there ever since.

Next month, at the upcoming 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards, Heather might add two gold statuettes to her collection with nominations for Lead Actress in a Daytime Drama Series (which would be her record-breaking 7th for an actress), and one for being a part of B&B’s writing team.

WHICH MORROW IS IN THE ROOM?

In a new livestream conversation on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel, Heather recalled her reaction to seeing Crew Morrow on set when he started on B&B over two years ago, and pointed out the uncanny similarities between her TV son and her former TV brother.

“I just can’t even tell you how genetics is weird,” explained Tom. “Because it’s like they are the same person; the cadence and his voice and the way he laughs. When Crew was on the shows for the first couple of months, it would take me out of the scene. I would be like, ‘Oh, my God! It’s Joshua.’ It’s crazy. It’s so wonderful to have him. I love having him there. We’re so lucky to have Crew. I think he’s a wonderful addition to the Spencer family. I love that Bill (Don Diamont) and Katie’s son is on the canvas in a real way.”

In recent weeks, fans of The Bold and the Beautiful have seen a different side of Katie in regards to her son, Will. She simply does not approve, and does not trust Melissa Dylan (Sydney Bullock) as far as she can throw her. That puts a wrinkle in the mother/son relationship.

Photo: JPI

HEATHER TOM IS THRILLED THE CHARACTER OF WILL SPENCER IS ALL GROWN-UP

“Honestly, I’ve been waiting for this story since Will was born,” exclaimed Heather  “To be like the overprotective, overbearing mother, momma bear, I love it!”

As for Katie’s attitude. which many feel may need an “attitude adjustment,” Tom has it all figured out on just how she is tackling her scenes! “I have all kinds of justifications for it,” reveals the multi-talented star.

Photo: JPI

KATIE SEES ALL SORTS OF RED FLAGS WITH DYLAN

“So. it’s not just Katie being the b-word,” proclaims Tom. “It’s that Will, her son, whom she loves and supports so much, has been constantly saying about Electra (Laneya Grace), ‘This is the love of my life. She’s broken my heart. I love her. All I want to do is get her back.'”

“So I think Katie could be like, ‘Okay, well, Electra’s a little flighty, but my son loves her, so I’m going to try to support that relationship,” explains Heather. “In addition, Will has never told his mother, ‘I love Dylan,’ at all. I think Katie is thinking of telling Will, ‘You should run, not walk, from this girl who seems somewhat obsessed!’ I don’t know where they’re going with the Electra/Will/Dylan triangle, but I think Katie’s very focused on Dylan for a multitude of reasons.”

So, do you like seeing Heather Tom as Katie going into overprotective momma bear-mode, now that the series has a major young triangle between Electra/Will/Dylan? What do you think about the fact that Heather has been a long-running scene partner with father/son across two different soaps in Joshua Morrow and Crew Morrow? Let us know in the comment section, and in case you missed it, check out our full conversation with Heather below.

‘General Hospital’s’ Finola Hughes Delivers the ‘Power Performance of the Week’

Published

on

By

Finola Hughes

There was never any doubt that in watching the riveting and emotional scenes on General Hospital which featured Finola Hughes as a PTSD-driven and mentally tortured Anna Devane, that when the climatic moments in Anna’s story aired, that we would not be singing the praises of Hughes. Once again, Finola showcased why she is one of the soap opera genres greatest assets and actresses.

In the key scenes, Anna has had a complete breakdown as she has lured and cornered Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) on Mount Emerson, and even thought through how she would kill her and cover it up, all thanks to hearing the voice and seeing a dead man, Peter August (Wes Ramsey). It’s visions of Peter that keeps egging Anna on to pull the trigger on Britt while in her delusional state.

Before Britt realizes that Anna trapped her in meeting her in Mount Emerson, she is very confused as to why she was all the way out in the boondocks to talk about what happened to her brother, Cassius Faison. However, Britt soon learned that what Anna was about to do is personal, and not professional, as she pulls the gun on her.

Courtesy/ABC

ANNA FIRES HER GUN IN GAME-CHANGING MOMENT

When Jason (Steve Burton) shows up to save the say, he tries to talk Anna off the ledge, begging her to not shoot Britt and make one of the greatest mistakes of his life. When Jason figured out Anna felt she needed to kill anyone related to Cesar Faison, he made her think twice, because that would mean, she also would need to end the lives of two of Maxie’s children, James and Bailey Lu.

Anna can’t stop seeing hallucinations of Peter pushing her to shoot Britt. Suddenly and completely overcome, Anna fires bullets straight in the direction of where she sees Peter as she declares this all must end tonight.

After the shots are fired, Anna realized what she had done and just sobbed and shook. It was a devastating and heartbreaking moment for longtime General Hospital fans to see the beloved Anna Devane, super spy, so lost. Anna explained to Jason, after he was able to disarm her, how she was being pushed to kill Britt by her visions of Peter.

EMMY-WORTHY SCENES FOR 2027

In another hankie-inducing moment, Anna just grabs Jason and breaks down in his arms. If these weren’t Emmy-worthy scenes, we don’t know what is, and it must be remembered by Hughes, General Hospital, and hopefully the voting body of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) when Emmy submissions and voting get underway in 2027 for the 54th annual Daytime Emmys.

From everything we noted above, to the sheer brilliance of her work, Michael Fairman TV names Finola Hughes, this week’s Power Performance of the Week.

Now let us know, do you agree with our pick of Finola? Were you moved to tears during the gut-wrenching scenes? Should Finola include these scenes in an Emmy submission in 2027, should she decide to compete for Lead Actress gold? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

RATINGS: ‘General Hospital’ Shows Most Gains in Total Viewers Week-Over-Week and Up in Key Demo

Published

General Hospital

The ratings are out for the week of August 24-28 for your favorite broadcast television soaps, and it was ABC’s General Hospital which added the most total viewers and planted itself firmly in third place in its battle with Beyond the Gates in the key demos of women 18-49 and 25-54.

According to Soap Opera Network, all daytime dramas were up year-over-year, and General Hospital was joined by The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful with gains in their total audience viewership, while Beyond the Gates was only slightly off pace for the ratings week.

Let’s take a look at what had viewers tuning-in, starting with General Hospital, who added +79,000 viewers.
