Here’s a bit of intriguing casting news! The Young and the Restless iconic Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman) will be seen in upcoming episodes of the hit teen web series Youthful Daze.
In story: children learn from what they seem and viewers are going to learn one day learn why resident bad boy Randy Milhouse (Reese Mishler) adopted his evil ways when Melody Thomas Scott joins the show as Nicole Wallace, Randy’s calculated and WASPy mother.
Bryan James, series creator and show runner says “I’m bringing Melody on to drive story, and I am excited to have her carry out a conclusion of sorts, to a huge arc on the overall series.” He adds “Its a very exciting time for the show. The show is something no soap fan should miss out on. We have new episodes online every single week. You can get hooked and you can watch religiously waiting for that new episode to drop every Sunday at 6 PM. Or you can also catch up every few weeks at your leisure. The episodes are always there. We aren’t going anywhere and its completely free to watch.
There is more good news for people wanting to check out the show. He continues “And you don’t need to watch the past. You can jump right in at any time @ www.youthfuldaze.com and it won’t take long to get caught up, just pick an episode and go from there, like you would when starting a soap on TV.”
Melody joins a roster of daytime fan favorites that also includes Bryan Craig (Morgan, General Hospital), as well as Jen Lilley (Theresa, Days of our Lives) on it currently as series regulars. Upcoming guest stars will include other soap notables: Chrishell Stause, Nic Robuck, David Gregory, and the one and only Eileen Davidson!
You can watch the latest episode of the series after the jump! Let us know what you think of the casting news of Melody Thomas Scott to Youthful Daze!
lol
why would Melody be cast as Reeses mother, it would be grandmother..
Noah and Summer, her grandchildren on Y&R are older than Randy Milhouse (Reese Mishler)
ahaa that is just not right..
I bookemarked it and will watch- looks interesting ..
I really hope Nikki does not forgive Victor. He claims poor Sharon is the bad one but he is so so so much worse
sharon is the best and prettiest on y and r
Awesome news! Melody is a very dynamic actress; they should consider themselves lucky to get her!
What fantastic casting! Melody is a top notch actress, who I’m sure will brighten up the series.
ok-
When I look at Melody I see Nikki of Y&R who has a middle aged son Nick and a daughter Victoria, both have grown children and one married, and that makes Nikki a grandmother of adults..
And if either Noha or Summer have a baby, and both could, then Nikki will be a great grandmother.. As a matter of fact that could happen any day..
Now I see Nikki playing the role of a mother of a son the same age or younger than her married granddaughter Summer who could make her a ‘great grandmother, Y&R..
That is too weird! but that’s show business LOL ..
Nick is not middle aged.
Well, Sharon in real life is 43, and Nick I have no idea, but probably close.
Nick is is 40 in real life Sharon is older
Wasn’t Cassie a teenager when she died, around 14-15 yrs. old? How long has she been dead? She would be over 30 by now I believe. Summer was conceived as a result of Nick’s grief over losing Cassie but now we have Summer, Mariah & Noah as peers hanging out together. Summer should be much younger & Mariah much older. Nick is definitely middle aged. Think of Lauren who has a son Scotty who is a doctor! Lauren should be pushing 60 but she was wanting a baby. And Paul & Christine “starting a family” cracks me up. Gotta love our soaps.
I love Sharon and Adam together in the past and hope Sharon and Adam nu Adam get together because Chelsea needs to be with someone other then Adam
I hope this does not mean that she will be leaving Y&R? Y&R could not afford to lose her, that soap is clinging on the edge as it is, with viewers upset over the new writers, and the outrageous story lines.
You’re absolutely right. Even the new eye candy can distract ne from the awful dialogue, plodding and dangling storylines and the lack of continuity. Somebody needs to step in and do something about this. I could d wonders for this show.
Melody Thomas Scott is a very good actress in this show just like her role in young and the restless I really like her acting
That is a GREAT photo of Scott with the article.
DON’T BELIEVE ANYTHING YOU READ!
I can’t believe Melody Thomas Scott would join an awful show like this. Profanity, gay sex and terrible acting. Couldn’t get through one episode. Makes me sick!
This show and everyone on it are hot messes. The producer has sued half the cast to recover salaries because these people supposedly didn’t support the show through social media. He is suing Bryan Craig for not doing enough work and hit on everybody on the set. He had closeted actor Reese Mishler “practice” giving oral sex with him in his apartment and hotel room. BAD SHOW, BAD PEOPLE.

Longtime General Hospital favorite, Kelly Monaco (ex-Sam McCall), took to her Instagram on Tuesday, September 15 and shared that she is six months, seven days sober from alcohol. Monaco played Sam for 21 years on the ABC soap opera.
Accompanied by a screenshot from the I Am Sober app that tracks the progress of anyone struggling with or trying to not drink, Monaco wrote, “Now the whole 6/7 thing makes sense! #duces.”

Soap Alums Remembered During In Memoriam Segment at 78th Emmy Awards; Patrick Muldoon Omitted

During last night’s 78th annual Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony, as it does every year, the television academy paid tribute to those in the industry that they’ve lost over the last year; since the previous Emmys held each year in September.
Starting with an emotional tribute to the late Catherine O’Hara by three of her co-stars, Schitt’s Creek’s Annie Murphy and Dan Levy and Home Alone’s Macaulay Culkin, the segment then dovetailed into Noah Kahan performing “Bridge over Troubled Water” as the faces and the names of those being remembered were shown on the screen.
Daytime soap alums, who either stayed in the genre for the majority of their career, or went on to primetime success as well, were honored including: Anthony Geary (Luke, GH), Hayden Panettiere (Sarah, OLTL, Lizzie, GL, Juliette, Nashville), James Van Der Beek, (Dawson, Dawson’s Creek, and Stephen, ATWT), Gil Gerard (Alan, The Doctors), June Lockhart (Mariah, GH), Patricia Crowley (Mary, Port Charles and GH), Randolph Mantooth (Clay/Alex, Loving and The City, and Richard, GH) and Jon Cypher (Alex, ATWT and Arthur, Santa Barbara).

THOSE HONORED AND THOSE WHO WERE NOT
However, in a glaring omission, the producers of the In Memoriam failed to include Days of our Lives beloved star, Patrick Muldoon who played the OG Austin Reed and also Richard Hart on Melrose Place. Muldoon passed away in April of this year at 57.
After Kahan concluded his performance, a special tribute to Rob Reiner began with Jamie Lee Curtis taking to the stage to share some warm words about her late friend.
In a ironic and sad twist, Curtis shared ,“Last week, Robbie won an Emmy for guest actor in a comedy series for his beautiful work on The Bear, and he now holds the record of 48 years for the longest gap between acting Emmys, which was previously held by his father Carl Reiner, at 37 years.”
Reiner, who along with his wife, Michele Reiner were killed by their son, Nick Reiner, is currently awaiting a decision if he will stand trial. Prosecutors on Tuesday, shared they will not seek the death penalty if he is convicted at trial, but instead life in prison. Curtis said of Rob, “He was generous and kind and funny as hell, and a friend to all. We all miss Rob and Michele and all those we lost this year.” The Emmys then faded to black and went to commercial break.
So, were you happy to see those who you know from their work in soap operas included in the 2026 In Memoriam tribute at the Primetime Emmys? Share your thoughts in the comment section. But first, in case you missed it, you can watch it below.
