In a fantastic new interview out today from TV Guide.com, The Young and the Restless, Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) discusses her latest storyline which she is relishing every day!  As fans have witnessed,  Nikki is back to her boozy battle with the bottle, thanks to evil, Meggie (Sean Young). Then, mix in another evil-doer Sean Kanan (Deacon) and the tipsy love of Victor’s Newman’s life has a house of cards that are set to come tumbling down.  Today October 12th,  Melody is also celebrating her 25th wedding anniversary to current B&B producer, Ed Scott! Congrats! Now, here are some juicy excerpts from the new feature:

Melody on what happens when Victor finds out she is hit the sauce: “I can’t reveal it, but let’s just say it’s not a good thing. [Laughs] But it’s so good. Wait till you see what happens! Nikki keeps thinking that if she can just get to the wedding that it’ll solve her drinking problem. But it’s magical thinking, of course. She always thinks that the answer to her problems is to marry Victor.”

Melody on if there will be a romance for Nikki with Deacon Sharpe ( Sean Kanan): ” Ohhhh, I hope so! It would be great if it started out a scam but then Deacon finds that he kinda likes her. Nikki keeps showing up at his seedy motel room and at first she’s shocked. “You live here?” she says. I don’t think Nikki realizes there are a lot of people living like that on the other side of the tracks. [Laughs] Which is where Nikki comes from! She thinks she has a drinking buddy in Deacon, and that he’s getting just as drunk as she is. But he’s really drinking water, not gin.”

Are you loving Melody’s performances and this story as much as we are here at On-Air On-Soaps?  Let us know!

I am not fond of the drinking problem for Nikki. I think Deacon is really scamming Sean Young. I think he really wants to help Nikki and and to expose Sean Young as the bitch she is……

Let the bitch fall off the wagon. She blames her relapse on the drama Victoria dealt with due to Deacon. Victoria got in the bed with Deacon with a smile on her face. Nikki’s not far behind. It’s not usual for her the sleep with Victor’s enemies. Now it’s Victoria’s turn. Bottom up!!!

I LOVE MTS!!!!! It’s about time she got some press! How many more years are going to go by without an Emmy nod??? It’s a horrible snub and the Emmy voters should be ashamed of themselves. Who could forget the work she did when Joshua Morrow’s character was presumed dead in a plane crash!? BRILLIANT!! Her portrayal of Nikki has captivated audiences for thirty years on Y&R and she is soooo overdue for some accolades!! We love us some Nikki Newman, especially the one jack-knifed under Deacon’s toilet after a Vodka “Big Gulp” bender!!! Please writers, let Nikki be a devastated drunk a little while longer…. it’s endlessly entertaining!!! 🙂

Kelly Ripa Shares Her Grief and Remembrances of John Callahan on ‘Live with Kelly and Ryan’

There was always something special about the wonderful actors and the cast pictured here from ABC’s All My Children.  After all, this is where Kelly Ripa (Ex-Hayley) met her husband, Mark Consuelos (Ex-Mateo) and where Eva LaRue (Ex-Maria) met her ex-husband John Callahan (Ex-Edmund).

Then, over this past weekend this family picture from Pine Valley was forever changed, when the soap world was rocked by the news that John Callahan passed away at only 66/

Heartbreaking remembrances poured in on social media …. and none more so than from Eva LaRue, who also shares a daughter with John, named Kaya.  Eva and Kaya rushed to John’s bedside where he has been put on life-support following a reported massive stroke.

Now on Monday’s episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan, which is being done remotely from the hosts individual hosts due to the coronavirus pandemic, Kelly Ripa shared her grief over the loss of her dear friend John Callahan with Ryan.

Kelly said “I had a really a bad weekend this weekend.  A very dear friend of mine for many, many years, almost 30 years, passed away over the weekend. He was a great actor, a really good friend. One of the funniest people I’ve ever met. He was the ex-husband of my first-born son’s godmother, Eva LaRue. His name was John Callahan. He was 66 years old—way too young to be taken from us.”

Ripa went on to to tell her co-host: “A gentleman of, I mean, Ryan, you two would have loved each other. He would say the funniest things and we were all going through our brains about all of the funny, like the funny ‘Callahan-isms’ over the years. He was just one of these guys and you know and he just died way too soon. His daughter and my daughter are good friends, they’re the same age and I just want everyone to know, Eva and Kaya, that we are thinking of you and we are just so sad and so devastated. So, I apologize in advance if I seem out of it. I really actually am, I’m terribly out of it. You know, forgive me for it.”
