Y&R’s Melody Thomas Scott To Release Memoir In 2020

Photo: Andrew Eccles

This ought to be a page-turner!  The one and only Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman) of The Young and the Restless has been a very busy gal, not only appearing on the top-rated soap, but she has been writing her memoir set for release next year!  According to a tweet from her Literary Agent, Dr. Uwe Stender, this will be quite the highly-anticipated life story.

Stender tweeted: “I am BEYOND ecstatic to announce that ‘s memoir will be published next summer!

He added on the upcoming Thomas Scott book, “Star of the #1 daytime drama The Young and The Restless Melody Thomas Scott’s ALWAYS YOUNG AND RESTLESS, a memoir covering her career (and life struggles) from a child actress (i.e. Hitchcock’s Marnie) to become the longest-serving and beloved daytime actress on television in the same role, written with Dana L. Davis.”

Melody confirmed the memoir following up with a tweet to Stender, “Well, I guess the cat is out of the bag now! Can’t wait for all of you to read it! Now you all know what I’ve been up to!”

So, intrigued by what Melody will share about her life and her time on Y&R in her upcoming memoir? Comment below.

I will definitely read it. However, I question the statement that she is the “longest-serving…daytime actress in the same role.” GH and DAYS have been on longer than Y&R. In fact, no disrespect to the wonderful MTS, but Susan Seaforth Hayes started on Days in 1968, Suzanne Roger started on Days in 1973, Deidre Hall on Days since 1976 and Leslie Charleson on GH since 1977. MTS didn’t start on Y&R until 1979. I admire Melody but the PR people have to stop blowing smoke about her, constantly airbrushing her pictures and then spouting misinformation regarding her. It detracts from who she is IMHO.

Yes, knowing her, it will be truthful and no holds barred. Would love to read it.

I don’t know how much “fun” it would be to read while she’s still employed @CBS and Sony… as I’ve always “hated” thee inside joke that you never talk about your show … ie: TPTB know the disgust with WRITING is contentious and that the who’s coming; who’s going; is their “stamp”

nevertheless prior to Y&R is her life. I only ask 1 or 2 or 3 things

1. DO NOT give your life away at every thing Eric Braedon is
2. the writers NEVER truly wrote Nikki as an independent Woman… acknowledge
3.

OH WHATS THE POINT – Nikki never materialized

what can you say? at the very least its satisfying to me that Eric Braedon can’t not acknowledge you either

so this couple disagreed
corporate got in the way
feelings lie dormant

Victor expresses “satisfied”

I agree. As much as the writers, from time to time tried having Nicki assert herself, she just seemed to be Victor’s wife, 99% of the time. Now with this new medical crisis, which I am assuming is his own, will he fight it with his wife’s help and support, or try and go it alone, as he has always done?
