Y&R's Redaric Williams Shows Us His Six-Pack & Talks About Tyler & Lily and Shemar Moore!

One of the hottest newcomers on the soaps this past year has been Redaric Williams of The Young and the Restless who plays Tyler on the CBS Soap. This week, Redaric is featured on the cover of Rolling Out Magazine on newsstands now with a feature and video of his cover photo shoot complete with his stellar six-pack abs and looks!
However the article on Redaric is something to look too. The Y&R stars talks about landing his role on the number one soap opera, comparisons made to former Y&R star and Daytime Emmy winner, Shemar Moore that has some fans claiming Williams is a Malcolm wannabe, and Tyler’s relationship with Lily Winters, played by Christel Khalil. Here are a few excerpts below!
Redaric on the Tyler/Lily situation since the characters work so closely in the workplace, but Lily is married to Cane (Daniel Goddard) and the dynamics of that: “You talk about dealing with a co-worker, which is very common; that’s a very, very real scenario [with] married couples or even people who are in extended relationships that are very committed to one another, and they have a co-worker who maybe is getting a little too close for comfort. It’s a very realistic depiction of a dangerous life situation and I think that’s why it makes for good viewing. People kind of tune in because they want to see what’s going to happen because I think [we] can kind of learn from situations that we see on the soaps.”
Redaric on the comparisons to Shemar Moore, who made such a name for himself as Malcolm Winters on Y&R: “If you compare me to Shemar, I am honored. He’s a great guy. He’s doing his thing — stamped, sealed and solidified — and to be able to be mentioned in the same sentence is an honor.”

It would appear from these comments re Lily Ashby RW has been drinking a six pack rather than showing one! This SL, solely a vehicle to introduce him to Y&R and ACTING, is a major fail, except to Angie Mc; most viewers cringe at the thought of Lily with her used-to-be-stalker before Josh erroneously assumed a slant of his pen could erase what we had viewed previously. Lily, loving Cane as she does, would not give NotShemar a second glance (most women wouldn’t) and Angie Mc did RW a disservice when she compared him to Shemar Moore, who is a bonafide GOD!
RW and Tyler needs to exit, stage left, take some acting/elocution lessons and come back in a decade or so, or resume his career as a Chocolate Chippendale!
Your rant is hilarious because when Shemar first started he was told to get acting/elocution lessons and come back in a decade or so by every critic. They said he was beautiful to look at but not an actor.
Redaric Williams doesn’t write the show or his character; he’s an actor. I happen to think Tyler is written badly but I like Redaric same thing with Carmine.
What needs to change is the writers. They are ruining the show very quickly. It’s uneven and some storylines make zero sense.

But Lady L, I don’t get the reference to “Chocolate Chippendales?” I never read that Redaric was involved in that. Seems borderline racist to mention that no?
Plain and simple the author of the first blog is confusing Redaric with Tyler attacking an actor for the actions of a character. Telling him to take elocution lessons is pretty awful too. It’s the way he talks and I understand him perfectly. Sounds very negative and mean-spirited to me. People that talk like that generally aren’t adults nor should they be allowed to post flammatory messages like that.
I don’t understand the point of the Lily/Cane fanatics to come in here and comment on a page dedicated to Redaric Williams aka Tyler Michaelson. Lily and Cane aren’t even divorcing so why are you all pressured? I absolutely love Tyler on the show. He’s really a breath of fresh air and definitely the best addition ever. I think he and Lily are perfect for each other. Tyler brings out the best in Lily and it is refreshing to see them. Lily and Cane bore me beyond words, it’s not even funny anymore. I saw many people outside the fandom who LOVES Tyler so it’s best to just stop saying that only Angelica McDaniel likes him. To me, Lily and Cane are FF materials. So I thank again Sony, CBS, Y&R for bringing in Tyler Michaelson because he’s obviously the main reason why I still watch this show.
And I agree with a previous poster, Shemar Moore used to be bashed a lot back in the days. People were telling him he was just a pretty face and couldn’t act. But look at him now… I respect Redaric Williams a lot for being such a classact and keep it cool. And yes maybe that’s the difference between Shemar and Red because to me, Redaric CAN act and has done a great job. Don’t get me wrong though, I love me some Shemar.
Anyway to me when a Lily/Cane fan takes its time to come on a page dedicated to Redaric Williams and leaves a comment, it just shows how much Mr. Williams DOES have a buzz. And a big one. So congratulations for that!

many fantastic characters have grown into core roles in the Y&R over the decades that began as ‘accessory’ roles to facilitate change in a storyline/main character. there are so many ways that Tyler can become integral in Genoa City. The role as a temptation for Lily to add drama to Mr&Mrs HappilyEverAshby (boring) grew because Mr Williams is someone you cant take your eyes off when he is onscreen, and , as well, he made an absurd situation believable as that character so i’m SUPER excited about what else he might possibly be besides not-an-adulter-after-all 😉 #cheers #LoveMyMelodrama
Red has been a great addition on Y&R! Yes he is easy on the eyes but Tyler is also talented in marketing! Business is the backbone to Y&R so Tyler will be around! Tyler (Rederic) is doing great! Not only is HOT to look at and those amazing eyes! But at the same time, the s/l he is portraying is so real, it happens everyday in real life. His turmoil is well played out!

I love Redaric Williams and the character of Tyler. He was great to come in and shake things up. Lily and Cane are so boring! As for the Shemar Moore comparisons, it makes complete sense. They are both gorgeous and dripping with swag. The characters of Malcome and Tyle are very similar as well, artistic, athletic, and smooth. He is hot in his own right though and deserves the attention and compliments, don’t hate him because he’s beautiful lol. I love how much respect he showed to Shemar Moore when they asked him about the comparison….I just love this guy.
Redaric Williams is a class act. Not only is he talented, he’s super intelligent. I look forward to watching his interviews and of course, watching him on the Young & The Restless. The comparisons need to stop. Redaric has his own path. Excited for all that is to come for this young man. Hopefully, he ignores the random baseless , hateful comments. Redaric is an excellent addition to the show. I love his character and swag. He is definitely the missing puzzle piece Y&R has been missing lately. His good looks don’t hurt the eyes at all.

I think Redaric is a fantastic actor! I enjoy his scenes both with and without Lily. As he said above, we watch to see what will happen. I understand the comparison to Shermar, because Redaric is a young, talented and very handsome black actor starting out on Y&R. It makes sense. I’m glad Redaric is a part of the Y&R cast and I hope to see more of him!

Redaric Williams has definitely spiced up Y&R! I’ve been a fan of the daytime soap for years and I love Redaric’s character Tyler, one of the highlights to watching the show now! He’s an awesome addition to the cast! This young man has a promising career ahead of him!

Redaric/Tyler is a great addition to Y&R, and has become one of my favorite characters on the show. I enjoy watching the relationship between him and sister Leslie. His bromance with Noah was unexpected, but has now turned into a great friendship. I personally am most excited to see what will happen between Lily and Tyler. I like what I’ve seen so far, and can’t wait to see more.
Redaric is a wonderful addition to the Y&R cast whether or not his character actually links up with Lily. He is multi-talented and genuinely humble. Moreover, he makes time to stay connected to his fans via Twitter, etc. The soap world is just the “tip of the iceberg” for him. Go get ’em, Red!!! 😉

As the saying goes “Let your haters be your motivators” …. I think Redaric is bringing his skills to the table. It’s a shame everything turns into body image issues vs skill sets. If he was hired as a Corporate exec it would still be about his look vs his skills. Many have grown up on this show mastering their characters. Look at the great Eric Braeden who can hold his own in physique and skill in his craft. His look didn’t dictate his talents. Some just come with the whole pkg. Redaric is no different coming in. This is a number one soap. They at CBS/ Y&R are highly trained in hiring skilled actors who btw have to do their reads in one take on Y&R. So in my opinion I’m impressed with the character Redaric exudes on the screen and when not in character. All the guys (& ladies) are pulling their weight. Hence, working on the top running soap. Keep in mind also he doesn’t write the story lines which is what makes a character. So see where the story line is taken before taking him stage left. Props to Red!!!!
You cannot compare the two other than them both being great actors on the show.. He is doing a great job and alot of people are watching to see what will happen between Tyler and lily… I will continue to watch the show
Redaric is a great actor but the s/l he is in lacking. I thought of Shemar Moore when I saw Red but only cause of his great looks, body and classiness. Red is his own person, you can tell. Good luck xx
Redaric has been such a great addition to Y&R. He’s also very easy on the eyes:) He’s been one of the only reasons I’ve been watching. Tyler and Lily have amazing chemistry on screen and she has become more watchable these only because of him. Please Tyler free Lily from her boring husband! Redaric is definitely coming into his own and is doing a wonderful job! As long as he’s on Y&R I will continue to watch:)
One more thing… I really hope the writers put Lily and Tyler together! Sick and tired of Lily and Cane, it’s time to shake up things. It’s a soap after all and all the other couples on the show broke up. So why not Lily and Cane? Besides Lily and Tyler have chemistry, it’s undeniable. And both Lily and Cane need to explore other things. The show will survive if Lily and Cane separate lol… Just saying.
Redaric is a younger version of the more mature Shemar Moore. He just needs the chance to learn and grow in acting as Shemar and every other actor did. It’s just called opportunity.
So he has a nice body, but I need more than that on a TV show. His character and storyline are so boring. He is passable as an actor. I’m not jumping up and down handing him an Emmy. I have never warmed to him or his character. I would like him to go and have Y&R focus on their veterans.
Sad how ‘happy and committed’ is boring to some. Love Cane & Lily and what they have brought to daytime – an example that not all characters, especially women, have to bedhop to be interesting. ((Hard to root for a couple who change partners like their clothes.) Not against couples breaking up but at least let the 3rd party be interesting.

This man without a doubt is one sexy man. It’s such a fresh look for Y&R. I’m tired of nick and Neil… Well at least lookin at them All the time. Billy is gettin old. Noah still seems like a lil boy. So Tyler… Yes. He is hot! And I love the shake up its bringing for lilys life. Like he said, unfortunately things like this happens in life.
Great article. Redaric Williams seems like a really cool, positive, down to earth and hard working guy. He has good looks, charisma, and acting talent. I like Tyler as a character. He is a breath of fresh air on Y&R. He is the best newcomer that Y&R has snagged in years in my opinion. I think Tyler has lots of promise. He has chemistry with all of his scene partners and fits in very well. The writers at Y&R need to hurry up and put Tyler with Lily in a hot romance because they have great chemistry (and the build up is there). Besides soaps are all about affairs, sex, romance, drama, betrayals, and scandals. So I have no problem with Lily taking a walk on the wild side with Tyler on Y&R. Anything to put some excitement, thrills, and spice back into the show.
Or the writers need to put Tyler in a hot romance with Hilary, Abby, Chelsea, or someone else. The guy is way too hot and charismatic to be single and celibate. So the writers need to get going on that front. There needs to be way more romance and sex on Y&R in general. I also think the writers need to make Tyler a cross over character. The writers also need to write Tyler as a multi-dimensional character who is able to display a range of different emotions. The writers need to incorporate Tyler on the Y&R canvas much more. And they need to give Tyler better written and engaging stories on the show. Frankly Y&R needs better writing for everyone on the show. The writing needs to get better ASAP. The Bold and the Beautiful know how to make proper use of the hot guys on their roster. So Y&R need to step it up ASAP. You can tell that Redaric Williams is probably destined for bigger success in the movies and on prime time television. So the writers at Y&R need to really make the most of having him on the show while they can. Good luck to Redaric Williams. Keep striving and keep your head up!!
Tyler is boring. Redaric is just a passable actor. He may improve, who knows. Since comparisons are being made I don’t think Shemar Moore was that accomplished when he started.
I have just seen nothing so far that has drawn me into either Tyler, Leslie or their story line(s). I have thought forever that Lily & Cane were also boring and tossing Tyler into their orbit hasn’t done much. I don’t see any real chemistry between RW & CK.
The thing that I cannot comprehend, after almost a year, is how BORING this show is!! And how slow it moves!! People love or hate Jill Phelps, but rarely are her helmed shows boring. When she took over Y and R, people were expecting a radical shift in stories, explosions, serial killers, pl ot gimmicks, etc. There has been NONE of that! The one time where there should have been an explosion and some casualties, with the bomb at the Newman ranch, the bomb was diffused quickly in an anti-climactic way. Personally, I would LOVE a patented Phelps sweeps stunt on this show, a la the Clear Springs disaster, or crazy Patty rampage #437. Whole episodes just go nowhere. Really…Avery baking, Dylan building a crib, Lily and Tyler talking in the office…Seriously! Get the story going!! Turn Carmine into a full blown psycho and unleash him on the town. He is a character with not a lot of long term potential anyway…might as well use him to give story to the vets. The one classic story being told in the Bell tradition of long simmering secrets is Summer‘s paternity. This is a most welcome plot point. If it is not used as the vehicle to reunite Nick and Sharon then it will be an epic fail. Nick and Sharon were the golden couple for YEARS! They are the end game couple of their generation, much like Victor and Nikki are for the geriatric set. Steve Burton is a charismatic performer, and a good actor, but the SEDCOND i heard they were bringing him on as Avery‘s lost love, I knew it was doomed to fail. Avery is an ill_defined character at best, and expendable at least. When your hire an Emmy award winning actor with legions of fans, you try to bring him in with ties to the core cast. No such attempt was made for Steve. Having him be Chelsea and Chloe‘s dupe is not flattering. This show has an awesome cast, and a producer who excels at production….but the writing is just not there. No offense to Josh Griffith, but there‘s an old saying s%#t or get off the pot. WRITE! Stories!

‘The Bold and the Beautiful’s’ Heather Tom on Working with TV Son Crew Morrow: ‘I’ve Always Wanted to Play an Overprotective, Overbearing Mother’ (Exclusive)
In an ironic twist of fate, and only in the soaps, The Bold and the Beautiful’s Heather Tom’s (Katie Logan) on-screen son is played by Crew Morrow (Will Spencer), the now 21-year-old son of her former TV brother on The Young and the Restless, Joshua Morrow (Nick Newman).
For those who have followed the six-time Daytime Emmy-winning actress’ career, Tom began on Y&R back in 1990 as Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor’s (Eric Braeden) daughter Victoria Newman. She played the role until 2003. Four years later, she joined the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful and has been there ever since.
Next month, at the upcoming 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards, Heather might add two gold statuettes to her collection with nominations for Lead Actress in a Daytime Drama Series (which would be her record-breaking 7th for an actress), and one for being a part of B&B’s writing team.

WHICH MORROW IS IN THE ROOM?
In a new livestream conversation on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel, Heather recalled her reaction to seeing Crew Morrow on set when he started on B&B over two years ago, and pointed out the uncanny similarities between her TV son and her former TV brother.
“I just can’t even tell you how genetics is weird,” explained Tom. “Because it’s like they are the same person; the cadence and his voice and the way he laughs. When Crew was on the shows for the first couple of months, it would take me out of the scene. I would be like, ‘Oh, my God! It’s Joshua.’ It’s crazy. It’s so wonderful to have him. I love having him there. We’re so lucky to have Crew. I think he’s a wonderful addition to the Spencer family. I love that Bill (Don Diamont) and Katie’s son is on the canvas in a real way.”
In recent weeks, fans of The Bold and the Beautiful have seen a different side of Katie in regards to her son, Will. She simply does not approve, and does not trust Melissa Dylan (Sydney Bullock) as far as she can throw her. That puts a wrinkle in the mother/son relationship.

“Honestly, I’ve been waiting for this story since Will was born,” exclaimed Heather “To be like the overprotective, overbearing mother, momma bear, I love it!”
As for Katie’s attitude. which many feel may need an “attitude adjustment,” Tom has it all figured out on just how she is tackling her scenes! “I have all kinds of justifications for it,” reveals the multi-talented star.

KATIE SEES ALL SORTS OF RED FLAGS WITH DYLAN
“So. it’s not just Katie being the b-word,” proclaims Tom. “It’s that Will, her son, whom she loves and supports so much, has been constantly saying about Electra (Laneya Grace), ‘This is the love of my life. She’s broken my heart. I love her. All I want to do is get her back.'”
“So I think Katie could be like, ‘Okay, well, Electra’s a little flighty, but my son loves her, so I’m going to try to support that relationship,” explains Heather. “In addition, Will has never told his mother, ‘I love Dylan,’ at all. I think Katie is thinking of telling Will, ‘You should run, not walk, from this girl who seems somewhat obsessed!’ I don’t know where they’re going with the Electra/Will/Dylan triangle, but I think Katie’s very focused on Dylan for a multitude of reasons.”

There was never any doubt that in watching the riveting and emotional scenes on General Hospital which featured Finola Hughes as a PTSD-driven and mentally tortured Anna Devane, that when the climatic moments in Anna’s story aired, that we would not be singing the praises of Hughes. Once again, Finola showcased why she is one of the soap opera genres greatest assets and actresses.
In the key scenes, Anna has had a complete breakdown as she has lured and cornered Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) on Mount Emerson, and even thought through how she would kill her and cover it up, all thanks to hearing the voice and seeing a dead man, Peter August (Wes Ramsey). It’s visions of Peter that keeps egging Anna on to pull the trigger on Britt while in her delusional state.
Before Britt realizes that Anna trapped her in meeting her in Mount Emerson, she is very confused as to why she was all the way out in the boondocks to talk about what happened to her brother, Cassius Faison. However, Britt soon learned that what Anna was about to do is personal, and not professional, as she pulls the gun on her.

ANNA FIRES HER GUN IN GAME-CHANGING MOMENT
When Jason (Steve Burton) shows up to save the say, he tries to talk Anna off the ledge, begging her to not shoot Britt and make one of the greatest mistakes of his life. When Jason figured out Anna felt she needed to kill anyone related to Cesar Faison, he made her think twice, because that would mean, she also would need to end the lives of two of Maxie’s children, James and Bailey Lu.
Anna can’t stop seeing hallucinations of Peter pushing her to shoot Britt. Suddenly and completely overcome, Anna fires bullets straight in the direction of where she sees Peter as she declares this all must end tonight.
After the shots are fired, Anna realized what she had done and just sobbed and shook. It was a devastating and heartbreaking moment for longtime General Hospital fans to see the beloved Anna Devane, super spy, so lost. Anna explained to Jason, after he was able to disarm her, how she was being pushed to kill Britt by her visions of Peter.
EMMY-WORTHY SCENES FOR 2027
In another hankie-inducing moment, Anna just grabs Jason and breaks down in his arms. If these weren’t Emmy-worthy scenes, we don’t know what is, and it must be remembered by Hughes, General Hospital, and hopefully the voting body of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) when Emmy submissions and voting get underway in 2027 for the 54th annual Daytime Emmys.

General Hospital
RATINGS: ‘General Hospital’ Shows Most Gains in Total Viewers Week-Over-Week and Up in Key Demo
The ratings are out for the week of August 24-28 for your favorite broadcast television soaps, and it was ABC’s General Hospital which added the most total viewers and planted itself firmly in third place in its battle with Beyond the Gates in the key demos of women 18-49 and 25-54.
According to Soap Opera Network, all daytime dramas were up year-over-year, and General Hospital was joined by The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful with gains in their total audience viewership, while Beyond the Gates was only slightly off pace for the ratings week.
Let’s take a look at what had viewers tuning-in, starting with General Hospital, who added +79,000 viewers. While still under the 2 million viewers mark (which they can hopefully return in the coming weeks) their overall tally was an average of 1, 935,000 tuning-in, while still up year-to-year +136,000.
GENERAL HOSPITAL
In addition, GH while actually down from the previous week in the 18-49 ratings share, they still out performed Beyond the Gates for third place. However, GH was firmly in third place for the 25-54 ratings share.
The stories that were featured for the week included: Anna’s (Finola Hughes) PTSD and struggle with painful memories tied to Cesar Faison, and her concocting a plan to get rid of Britt (Kelly Thiebaud), Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) recording Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) threatening her, and later running into a severe threat from Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) regarding Kai (Jens Austin Astrup) and Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) shooting, and Drew enlisting Ava (Maura West) to gain leverage over Jack, which resulted in Ava drugging him, while Drew went snooping for the evidence Brennan had against him.

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS
Y&R remained in the top spot amongst all the soaps once again with 3,062,000 tuning in, and up +35,000 for the week, while year-to-year still showing strong gains at +231,000 viewers. However, while Y&R remained #1 for the 25-54 ratings share, it fell to #2 in the 18-49 ratings share behind The Bold and the Beautiful.
In story for the week, Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) sobriety in rehab was a focus, as was Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) hitting the Jabot office couch and having sex for the first time, and Lily (Christel Khalil) and Billy (Jason Thompson) battling over control and ownership of Chancellor Industries.

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL
B&B is continuing to be inch closer to Y&R for the top spot, separated by a little more than 300,000 viewers. For the ratings week, the series posted a total audience of 2,719,000 adding +31,000 eyeballs overall, and like Y&R, is up year-to-year in its performance.
The CBS soap now , now in its 40th season is +217,000 from the same time last year. In the key demos, The Bold and the Beautiful was in the top spot for the women 18-49 ratings share and number two for women 25-54.
In story, the major threat to Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Finn (Tanner Novlan) and Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) and Daphne’s (Murielle Hilaire) marriages continued as Steffy and Carter swore they would not tell their spouses that the two had a drunken hook-up. But as viewers know now, Steffy is pregnant!

BEYOND THE GATES
Beyond the Gates tallied an average of 1,611,000 total viewers for the week, up +72.000 year-over-year and down slightly in tune-in for the week losing just -36,000 viewers. The CBS soap came in fourth place in the key demos for the week behind General Hospital, with whom they are often trading places for the third spot.
In story, after Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett) was released from the hospital, Hayley (Marquita Goings) stuck to her plan, doubling down on poisoning him and even getting caught in a major lie or meeting with Randy (Maurice P. Kerry), as Vernon (Clifton Davis) may be on to her machinations.
