Y&R's Sean Carrigan Weighs-In On The Paternity Tests Results Of Victoria's Baby & What's Next For Stitch?

On today’s episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless viewers learned just who is the baby daddy of Victoria’s (Amelia Heinle) newborn baby girl Katie … Ben AKA Stitch (Sean Carrigan) or Billy (Burgess Jenkins)?
If you have not see the episode yet, or have not read the results online, then don’t read any further!
While many in the viewing audience have wanted Stitch to be the father, it turned out not to be the case. Billy, according to the DNA test results, is Katie’s biological father, and the results hit Stitch hard.
On-Air On-Soaps caught up with Y&R’s Sean Carrigan at last night’s Hollywood Christmas Parade 2014 to ask him his a few thoughts on the paternity test results and how this spins-off Stitch into developing more of a potential romance with Ashley (Eileen Davidson), and to find out if it’s truly over between Ben and Victoria. Here’s what the popular gent had to say!
So, what was your reaction when you found out in the storyline that Stitch was not going to turn out to be the baby daddy to little Katie?

SEAN: Well, I was bummed! I invested a lot of time in that. I did not know from the beginning of the storyline who the father was going to turn out to be, so to find out that Stitch wasn’t the dad, it was pretty disappointing. I knew about a month or two out that it was the case, so I was truly bummed. I know many people were rooting for Stitch to be the dad, and I thank them for that, and I truly appreciate it.
Now will Stitch be much more in Ashley’s (Eileen Davidson) orbit?
SEAN: Yes! Now it will be an interesting thing between him, Ashley, and Victoria, and what happens now with the baby and Billy. I think also it will be interesting seeing him keeping a personal and professional relationship with Ashley.

I was pretty disappointed. I really wanted Ben to be the father. But instead boring Billy has to be the one. I guess Ben can move on with Ashley.
Me too Ryan, I wanted Stitch to be the daddy. Very disappointed with the results. Billy boy is the daddy, Ben and Ashley will now hook up. That won’t last at all. Stitch belongs with Victoria.
Well Ben does have good chemistry with Victoria so I wouldn’t mind if they got back together. He makes her interesting… something this new Billy just doesn’t do. Still, Ben and Ashley could be a fun pairing and it would have the added bonus of making Victoria a little jealous.
I hope he doesn’t move on with Ashely, Ryan. Inasmuch as I agree with your disappointment….I feel the same way about this nuBilly guy…..I feel that Ashley should be paired with someone her own age. As good and well-preserved as she looks, she shows signs of aging. That is all well and good, we all age, but, she is 15 years older than Sean….old enough to be his mother. Ben needs to move on with someone who will be able to give him children. He so desperately wants another child.
I am so tired of all soaps trying to recycle these actors/actresses by giving them romantic storylines with men/women so much younger or older than they. Just keep it real, that’s all.
It is time for Ashley to be a grandmother. Now, if you ask me, Phyllis and Ben would be great together. Jack is over 20 years older than she….Phyllis did have “daddy” issues, afterall….LOL. Later.
I totally agree with CeeCee, and I hope that the writers realize that the viewers know that there’s a great age difference between Ashley and Stitch. Stitch should have been the baby’s father. Do what you do best “someone changed the paternity”. I want be watching any more . Y & R is becoming like a bad novel.

Heinle was dull and flat as Mia on AMC as she is as Victoria. The only spark I ever saw was with Billy Miller. Then again, he can ignite anyone with those dreamy eyes.
Yes, Ben should play the field, but then settle with Phyllis. She will certainly wake him to life with a pinch or two. Jack is ready for his lounge jacket, ascot and his humidor….give Jack a rest before he injures his back. Men half his age don’t even get that much action….Wow !!
Abby is too willowy and awkward for anyone….no grace about her whatsoever……just my opinion.
Amen to you Molly, totally agree with you. Ben belongs with Victoria Newman. They have so much chemistry together. Big deal, that Billy boy is the daddy.
Ben and Victoria have chemistry? LMAOROTF! Amelia Heinle’s “Victoria” has never had chemistry with anyone but Billy Miller’s “Billy”.
As for Billy being the baby-daddy, that was unexpected, but has much more story potential than if Ben had been. Victor’s head is going to EXPLODE!
I disagree there IS chemistry with Sean and Amelia, and LOTS more story potential with Ben as the daddy than Billy. Victor has never liked Billy, whats new about that???

Truly disappointed…keep hoping (although recycled storyline) that Maureen switched the results before she fled the hospital. Billy and Victoria have no chemistry and I wish Victoria and Ben would get together. Not hoping for a romance with Ashley and Ben.
Long term, and I do mean long term, Katie being an Abbott Newman has more potential story wise. The father of the child doesn’t mean he has to be the partner of the mother– so Ben could still be with Victoria. However, as a soap couple they are a bit dull– in real life they would be perfect for each other, but soap couples need some fire behind them, and I don’t even see a spark between those two. Ben has a bit more “chemistry” with Ashley– I mean they work in lab don’t they- LOL, but I actually think Ben and Abby have that vibe that if written properly could be a far interesting match up than either Vicky or Ashley.

Naw that would take some imagination and these writers aren’t that creative–LOL. Kidding aside I truly think they were just honoring Jeanne Cooper by naming a possible legacy character after her old character.

I like the idea of Stitch and an Abby pairing. He doesn’t take any bull from her and puts her in her place perfectly. As stated by others, if written properly, they could become the next super couple. Ashley is too old for him …….and as far as Victoria goes…..I am soooooo sick of her. She has been a spoiled rich bitch for way too long. I think she should be alone for the foreseeable future. Another added bonus for a Stitch/Abbey……maybe she would be so busy with him that she would keep her nose out of other people’s business. She is so obnoxious at times she has the effect of nails scrapping a blackboard for me.
Face it no one is ever going to be satisfied with a recast Billy. Billy Miller was the best, but the current recast is sooo much better than the first one. He was way too young and whiny.
I vote for Stitch and Abbey. Don’t really care about the rest. Devon, Hillary romance is beginning to work my nerves. Don’t understand why the writers had her marry Neil in the first place. The way he talks about her makes my skin crawl as he is old enough to be her father.
I am beyond bummed, but now Ben can be with Ashley. They really ruined Victoria for me these last months. She was selfish not to get the DNA results because of her “high risk” pregnancy. Give me a break. Women have high risk pregnancies all the time and are still able to have amniocentesis done. I ought to know.
Then if it wasn’t enough that Victoria kept the two men in suspense, SHE had to look at the results first! Horrible, horrible. I do not care for the character of Victoria any more and she used to be one of my favorites. Amelia Heinle had amazing chemistry with Billy Miller, but he left. She has zero chemistry with Burgess Jenkins, but has some pretty good chemistry with Sean Carrigan, but again, the writer’s BLEW IT!
Now I am waiting for Adam to come back and get together with Chelsea so I no longer have to hear this Billy call her “Chels” every time they are in a scene together.
I, too, thought that Victoria having to look at the results first was pretty rude, but not unexpected of her. I am not a Vicky hater, but she is a control freak like the Mustache.
The best thing about baby Katie being a Abbott-Newman is for story line and it creates a legacy character. THANKFULLY, today Billy and Vicky can parent their baby but NOT be romantically involved.
I am very disappointed that Stitch was not the father. I wanted the baby to reunite and bo b d them together. He has lost so much, I wanted a new beginning for Stitch and Victoria. I was happy to know Sean’s view on the outcome.
Hmmm…let me see as to W-H-O I think that Stitch should (or shouldn’t) N-O-W hook up with…
1. Ashley…N-O!!!!! I’m sorry but her CONSTANTLY overly-moral behavior WORKS MY NERVES W-A-Y TOO MUCH!!!!! Nope.
2. Abby…N-O!!!!! Abby is W-A-Y TOO MEDDLESOME AND EVEN MORE ANNOYING!!!!! I don’t think so.
3. Victoria…ULTIMATE N-O!!!!! Victoria has become WAY WAY WAY TOO MUCH of a train-wreck!!!!! As far as I’m concerned, Stitch can do W-A-Y BETTER than Victoria!!!!!
4. Anita…DEFINITE POSSIBILITY!!!!! I think that Anita is an ULTIMATE COUGAR…who knows WHAT THE HELL she’s doing…LOL!!!!!
5. Chelsea…Y-E-S…HANDS DOWN!!!!! I mean…think about it: Now that it’s revealed that Billy (G-A-G!!!!!) is the baby daddy (MORE G-A-G!!!!!), Billy will probably end up spending Y-E-T more time with that annoying Victoria (B-L-A-H!!!!!) because of baby Katie. If that happens, Billy might pull away (or worse!!!!!) from Chelsea. So…you know what: I think that Stitch and Chelsea should HOOK-UP!!!!! It would serve B-O-T-H Billy and Victoria right!!!!!
6. Or…how about…an Anita/Stitch/Chelsea LOVE TRIANGLE?!?!? I would VERY GLADLY WATCH THAT!!!!! Hey…Anita and Chelsea (mother and daughter) fighting over the same dude (Stitch) would provide Y&R with some MUCH NEEDED COMIC RELIEF!!!!! O-K-A-Y!!!!!

Definitely NOT into an Anita-Stitch-Chelsea triangle. Anyway, I think Anita chases the money and, for now, Stitch is not in her money league.
I do think a Stitch-Chelsea romance would work one day (MCE has chemistry with everyone. Reminds me of Eileen Davidson in this respect).
For now, we have to get though the coming Billy-Chelsea-Adam triangle.
But, I don;t want to see Stitch back burner-ed. Also, I think it would be amusing to see Stitch and Abby together IF their relationship helped Abby grow up!! Key for Abby.
Mollie…I get what you’re saying. But, if I remember correctly, Anita likes to chase B-O-T-H money and younger men. Example: Remember (at Dylan and Chelsea’s quickie wedding) when Anita kept trying to F-L-I-R-T with Stitch…and right in front of EVERYONE????? As for Abby…I’m sorry but I would N-O-T find a Stitch/Abby pairing amusing because Abby is W-A-Y TOO IMMATURE!!!!! Ashley was married to much older Victor at one point. Ben would almost be a Boy-Toy for her. Eileen Davidson could pull it off, as few could, but not the best story line.

Just the idea of Ben and Ashley is enough to make me ill. I know the writers will go full steam ahead with it because they could care less what the fans want. But theres a 15 year age difference in Sean and Eileen and its just icky.

That said, I was really rooting for Stitch. I don’t want him paired up with Victoria, however. I’d like to see him paired up with someone worthy of him.
I posted this elsewhere, but I don’t understand why it is Victoria was able to keep both Billy and Ben in the dark as far as the paternity is concerned for the entire gestation period and no one called her out for it. What a cruel thing to do which ultimately ended up being the cruelest blow to Stitch. Meanwhile, Icky became jealous anytime any of her boys seemed to move on with other women. It seemed to me that keeping the paternity a secret was the ultimate act of manipulation.
Really, if you think about it, had Sharon pulled such a stunt everyone in town would be giving her the riot act and then they’d run her out of town.

If it was Billy Miller still playing Billy, most fans would be thrilled that Katie Rose is his daughter. Villy used to have a huge fan base and they really wanted a Newbott baby. But this recast really killed this pairing. I just cannot get into this new Billy.
I was pulling for Stitch as I love the chemistry between him & Victoria. I felt they clicked right away and he would’ve made an awesome baby daddy. I’m very sad to see “Sticky” end. The writers wasted their potential and never gave them a real chance.
Just the idea of Stitch & Ashley makes me sick. I’m sure they will force it but I have no interest in them whatsoever.

Victoria really has no chemistry with anybody. She had it with Billy Miller, but with these two guys no. Besides she’s such a whiner I feel sorry for any man who ends up with her.

I want to scream every time he utters the word “Chels.” It should be a drinking game. 🙂 I feel that he is trying to be too much comic relief like Billy Miller’s version of Billy that maybe, just maybe if he tried to play him more naturally, then his version could be embraced. But this version just makes me wish “Billy” would vacate Genoa City.

I thought Stitch was going to be the father of Katie until he had that argument a couple of weeks ago with Abby about how she didn’t know what love was & she has never really been in love then I thought maybe Billy would be the Dad and there would be a triangle love again between Abby/Stitch/Ashley. I think Abby is so flippy that Stitch could be good for her. I really like Ashley but I think she’s too old for him I would also like to see Avery go back with her ex husband and Dylan go for Sharon.
Dylan and Sharon would be good. I wouldn’t mind seeing Cane with Sharon or someone other than the insipid, Lily. All they write for these two is some anniversary sexcapade that they have at the Athletic Club or making out in the restaurant.

Agree, agree, agree, HOWEVER, after what Ashley went through with Faith not being hers, but Sharon’s, I could not see her meddling with a child’s parentage like that.
Alas, who knows what the hell they will write. Perhaps they only brought Ashley on to ruin her like the majority of the legacy characters.
I am glad Billy Abbott is Katie’s father. I like the idea of Billy and Victoria together (even if I am not fond of the current actors) as the show’s central couple, a union between the two core families always at odds. They were torn apart over Billy’s grief at the loss of Delia. A new daughter is a new start. This plot is important. The two need to find their way back.
Ashley Abbott has been with the show 30 years. Ponce de Leon should have looked for the fountain of youth in Wisconsin because that is where it is hiding. Seems right for Genoa City to be a cosmetics center! It is time to move Ashley up and into more age appropriate stories. The SORAS of Abby forces that. I am not sure I like her and Stitch but the mother-daughter competition over a man is a soap trope. Maybe Ashley learned something from Brooke Logan those years she spent in LA! Side note (and forgive me if I am blanking), did we ever really resolve Ashley’s parternity. I know she broke down when she found out she was not an Abbott. Do Jack or Tracie know? Did Ash ever find peace with that with Dina?
Ah … there WAS a union of the core families …… Delia was an Abbot and a Valentine (aka a Chancellor family member at the core) but JFP botched that storyline so she’s trying to fix it with a new baby (but a daddy no one cares about).
No one other then Jack, Dina, Victor & Ashley know that John Abbott was not her father. They never bring it up ever since 1999 it has never been mentioned again Traci & Billy do not know. Also this will be the third time Victoria & Ashley have fought over a man Brad, Cole & Stitch. Wash Rinse Repeat!!! 🙁
If it was billy miller, it would be a little more satisfying. But I love stitch. Major disappointed stitch was not the father. Sorry Y&R.. Been a fan for 35 years but when you lost billy Miller and Michael muhney you lost me too. Give back Steve Burton to GH. So billy can come back .

Billy Miller is tearing it up on #GH If Steve Burton comes back, they’ll find a way to make him Jason’s twin. #GH fans are loving new-Jason. Michelle Stafford is doing some of her best work on #GH too. How about #GH gives #YR #MichaelEaston who was a much better vampire than he is clueless doctor.
Either way the results would add drama for those involved. I thought Stitch would be the father and Billy would stay with Chelsea and there would be a love triangle with Adam. Adam wins that one and Billy hits the gutter and Chloe comes back to pull him out with their new child. Billy being the father pisses Victor off to no end! So this works to. Burgess is catching on so maybe him and Vickie will catch on? Her and Stitch had no chemistry. Speaking of chemistry, Stitch will now be free to mingle with Ashley. That could work.
I like Stitch, and I want him with Ashley. I’m not a Victoria fan, because I don’t think Y&R did a good job casting Amelia in the role after Heather Tom left. Regardless of that, I wanted Stitch to be that little girl’s dad. He deserves a second chance to have a family, and has worked hard since coming out of prison for that. I feel as though JFP gave that baby to Billy in order to replace the lost of Delia, and no child can do that. Billy needed to move forward from Victoria, and now they’ve placed him in this very strange position because Victoria really wanted Stich to be Katie’s dad, and I think Billy wants Chelsea and the family they have. He looks good with she and the two boys. So I’m sad right along with Sean, because Stich would have made a great father to that little baby.
Naw, Abby switched the test results because she didn’t want Stitch being the daddy. It’ll be revealed shortly who the real father is and then in twenty years, Sharon will muddle things up again. I know this because Y&R yawn fest just recycles stories now.

‘Brilliant Minds’ Officially Canceled After 2 Seasons at NBC; DAYS Alum Al Calderon, OLTL Alum Teddy Sears and Zachary Quinto Among the Cast
After languishing on the bubble for months, on Friday, NBC handed down the decision and canceled the medical drama Brilliant Minds after two seasons.
Brilliant Minds stars Zachary Quinto as neurology physician Oliver Wolf, who’s character and the series is inspired by the life and books of neurologist. Oliver Sacks. The series focuses on the medical mysteries of the mind, as Wolf a larger-than-life neurologist and his team of interns explore the last great frontier, the human mind, while grappling with their own relationships and mental health.
The final six episodes of what will now be the end of its second and final season were already set to air beginning on May 27, after being pulled off the network schedule in February as viewership saw a steep decline. Brilliant Minds second season became the lowest-rated drama on linear TV viewing, which didn’t bode well fo a network renewal, although it had its hard core fan base.

There are some exceptional notables in the cast along with the talented Quinto that includes Days of Our Lives alum, Al Calderon (ex-Javi Hernandez) who joined the series in its second season as Nurse Nico Silva, and One Life to Live alum, Teddy Sears (ex-Chad Bennett) who plays Wolf’s love interest and fellow physician, Dr. Josh Nichols.
The rest of the talented cast includes: Tamberla Perry, Ashleigh LaThrop, Alex MacNicoll, Aury Krebs, Spence Moore II, Donna Murphy, John Clarence Stewart, and Brian Altemus.
In an ironic twist of fate on Thursday, April 30, Days of Our Lives finally revealed the actor who was Al Calderon’s successor in the role of Javi, when they announced that actor Jacob Martinez had now stepped into the role. Since DAYS tapes ten months ahead of streaming new episode, Calderon left in the spring of 2025, but will be seen in the part for the final part this month, and then on June 20, Martinez debuts as Salem’s new Javi.
Taking to his Instagram with a sorrowful and heartfelt post on the Brilliant Minds cancellation was Teddy Sears who wrote, “Thank you, Brilliant Minds. I got the call today and I didn’t want to hear, but I knew that it would come, You have to be a particular vintage to quote Don Henley from memory, but that’s the line that came to mind earlier today after I got off the phone with our inimitable showrunner Michael Grassi who delivered the news that NBC has cancelled the series”.

Sears continued, “To say that I feel sad to be moving on from these stories, this character, and this cast and crew just doesn’t paint the entire picture. I’m sad, sure. But I’m also deeply grateful that I got hired to play this part, so proud of the stories we told, and the other actors I got to play alongside. I’m excited to see what comes next, what adventures await, and terrified to be without a professional home. A quick and heartfelt thank you to everyone, all over the globe, who found us and found themselves in us, in our characters and in our stories. We wouldn’t have been able to tell them without you. And we still have 6 fresh episodes yet to air, and I do hope you tune in enjoy the remainder of the series. They’re the best we’ve done.”
As he wrapped up his sentiments, Sears signed off with, “The more I know, the less I understand. All the things I figured out I have to learn again. I’ve been trying to get down to the heart of the matter. But everything changes…Thank you, Brilliant Minds.”
The medical drama was created and executive produced by Michael Grassi alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Lee Toland Krieger, DeMane Davis, Jasmine Russ, Henrik Bastin, Jonathan Cavendish, Andy Serkis and Shefali Malhoutra.

‘General Hospital’s’ Jonathan Bennett Receives 3 ‘Critics Choice Real TV Awards’ Nominations for Hallmark Series, ‘Finding Mr. Christmas’
Many things are coming up roses for Jonathan Bennett! On the heels of the news that he is set to debut this month in the role of Joe Fitzpatrick on General Hospital, who is rumored to be a new love interest for Lucas Jones (Van Hansis), comes the news that Bennett’s reality series, Finding Mr. Christmas has received 3 nomination for the Critics Choice Real TV Awards.
Bennett’s Hallmark Channel series finds itself in tough competition alongside fellow nominees: RuPaul’s Drag Race (MTV), Squid Game: The Challenge (Netflix), Survivor 50 (CBS), Top Chef (Bravo) and The Traitors (Peacock). In addition, Jonathan himself is nominated for Best Show Host and the series participants as the Best Ensemble Cast in an Unscripted Series.
The Critics Choice Association (CCA) revealed the nominees for the eighth annual Critics Choice Real TV Awards on Thursday, which recognize excellence in nonfiction, unscripted and reality programming across broadcast, cable and streaming platforms. Winners will be announced online at CriticsChoice.com on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 9:00am PT/12:00pm ET.

Taking to his Instagram to celebrate the nominations, GH’s Bennett, enthused, “3 Critic Choice Nominations! I’m so proud of the FINDING MR CHRISTMAS and to be in the company of all the legends in all these categories is so surreal! Congrats to Hallmark Channel and to our nominated cast and nominated show and everyone who made this magical show possible. This is crazy! This gives FMC 6 Critics Choice nominations in 2 years. Not bad for a little show on Hallmark Channel. What are your thoughts on our show?” Jumping first into the comment thread was one of his new GH co-stars, Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) who expressed, “Yeah buddy!!!🔥🔥”
In the series, Bennett, the host and co-creator spends eight weeks guiding 10 aspiring actors through a series of “festive face-offs” and acting challenges alongside actors like soap opera notables, Hunter King (ex-Summer, Y&R) and Alison Sweeney (Sami, DAYS). Along the way, they develop their skills and a bond with one another. The show, which is available on Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Plus, highlights LGBTQ+ representation with openly gay contestants vying to be the next Hallmark star.
It should be noted that Traitors received the most Critics Choice Real TV Award nominations with 6 nods, followed by Dancing with the Stars with 4.
Bennett is very familiar to daytime fans having started his career as JR Chandler on All My Children in 2000-2001, before landing the part of Aaron Samuels in the motion picture, Mean Girls in 2004 starring Lindsay Lohan, which would become his breakout performance.

‘General Hospital’s’ Kelly Thiebaud on Britt and Cassius Sibling Drama, But Who Will Ultimately Blow His Cover?
On the April 30 episode of General Hospital, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) had some choice words and warning for her brother Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) who has been masquerading as his twin, the very dead, Nathan West.
As the story has unfolded, viewers learned that Britt knew all along that when “Nathan” showed up in Port Charles seemingly resurrected with a missing 7 years of his life unexplained, that Cassius was taking his place.
Now in developments on today’s GH, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) is figuring out that this guy pretending to be Nathan is someone else, and Cassius learns from Britt, that Joss is not just a ditzy sorority girl as he claimed, but a WSB agent! The moment stuns Cassius. Are the walls about to close in on him and his charade?

Daytime Emmy winner, Kelly Thiebaud spoke to Soap Opera Digest, about the story point and getting the opportunity this time back at GH to work with Ryan Paevey, when she hadn’t had the chance to before.
BROTHERLY LOVE?
Thiebaud expressed on sharing scenes with Ryan Paevey, “It’s just been so wonderful to have him back and to actually work with him! When he first came onto the show (as Nathan at the end of 2013) I was kind of heading out — it was right towards the end of my contract, so we didn’t actually work together a ton. It’s been really refreshing and so much fun to really spend time together and get to know each other and work together. I think we have really great on-camera chemistry and banter with each other. I really enjoy working with him.”
With the stakes at an all-time, Thiebaud explained how she views her on-screen alter-ego’s involvement with her more hot-to-temper sibling and why Britt revealed the truth about Josslyn to him. “People finding out about Cassius would expose what she’s involved in and what she agreed to do,” explains Kelly “And now Josslyn is digging around, and she’s connected to Carly (Laura Wright) to Jason (Steve Burton) and that whole dynamic! It’s messy!”
BRITT’S MURKY FUTURE
Britt has currently also reached her breaking point with Jason being carted away by the WSB, Rocco (Finn Carr), the child she gave birth to, shooting Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) to protect her and Jason, Marco (Adrian Anchondo) being killed after trying to help her, and Cullum holding over her head getting her Huntington’s disease medication to control her symptoms, while blackmailing her into finishing the research on her father, Cesar Faison’s, final project. Thiebaud summed it up best for Britt right now, sharing, “It’s been a really tough time for her.”
