General Hospital
Zachary Garred Interview: Playing The Most Despised Man on General Hospital … Levi Dunkleman!

Courtesy/ABC
When Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) returned home to Port Charles after her eat, pray, love adventure to find herself again, she brought with her self-help guru Levi Dunkleman. From the moment Levi hit the screen, the GH viewing audience took an instant disliking to the character! (It took a millisecond!) But as we have seen, it was all for a purpose. No one is supposed to trust the pontificating of Levi and his outlook on life. In fact, there is something going on with him and this week, as Maxie and Levi’s shotgun wedding nears, the story begins to unravel, especially after Friday’s clues which saw Felicia’s (Kristina Wagner) Aztec jewels come in to play.
On-Air On-Soaps had the opportunity to catch-up with the Australian born Zachary Garred at last weekends GHFCW 2014, (where he also appeared in public for the first time with his new shorter hair cut) to get his thoughts on: all the vitriol coming his ways from fans of the series, how he has intentionally shaped his performance of the character to become the most despised character on the ABC soap opera, his thoughts on working with co-stars Kirsten Storms and on-screen nemesis, Ryan Paevey (Nathan), and to get a tease of what is to come as Levi’s story kicks into high gear! Now, before you throw things at you computer screens … check out our chat with Zachary G.!
To put it mildly, there has been quite the response and reaction to the character of Levi Dunkleman by the GH fans! What do you think about that? And how do you go about playing this despicable character?

Courtesy/ABC
ZACHARY: It is a great response and a helluva response, and you play him with conceited conviction, because he believes everything he is saying. When I first got cast, GH executive producer Frank Valentini said to me, “Do not play the cliché hippie angle because that’s already there.” He’s right. If you do that it’s fun, but it really does not have much consequence. But if you play it with that sort of duplicitous angle underneath it becomes really infuriating. People out there know guys like this! And to play somehow who is quite underhanded and duplicitous is something totally different than one might expect to see with a character like this, but it’s a lot of fun.
Literally, the second day you were on the air the fans were screaming: “Who is this arrogant SOB! Get rid of him! Send him back to Australia!” (Laughs)
ZACHARY: I know! (Laughs) When I started acting I think I was like 15 or 16 years old when I had just my first audition. The response you generally want to get is that you just want people to have an opinion on the character, and it doesn’t matter whether it’s good or bad. If everyone liked the characters … you wouldn’t have some of the greatest movies in history!
Did the powers-that-be tell you once you landed the role that you would be playing such a pompous jerk?

Courtesy/ABC
ZACHARY: No, Frank just said don’t play cliché! General Hospital’s head writer Ron Carlivati, and the team that write Levi, really do a good job at giving me material to work with. The fact that Levi is juxtaposed against the gorgeous genetically spectacular Nathan (Ryan Paevey), who is like the All-American hero, works for the character too!
You mean Nathan AKA Ryan, or as he is better known now as #SOB (hash tag Shirt off Boy)? (Laughs) And speaking of shirts off, you’re on-screen entrance on to GH was in nothing except a towel!
ZACHARY: Maxie’s apartment is hash tag “Shirt off Apartment”! (Laughs) It’s a clothing optional space! (Laughs) And my first scene was in a towel and I had just come from doing a play where I was naked on stage, so that was not much of an issue. Actually, having a towel on was a bit of an improvement! I worked with Kirsten Storms (Maxie) and Ryan Paevey on my first day here, and they are both such beautiful people, and very generous actors and they are so welcoming and warm. When you walk on to GH, and on to a set that has been around for 51 years, you are talking about a TV show with lineage … and for somebody like me who had never done a soap before, it was a little daunting!
Wait! Weren’t you on the Australian soap opera, Home and Away?

Courtesy/ABC
ZACHARY: I did Home and Away and that is our lineage as well, because some great people went through like Naomi Watts and Chris Hemsworth. Our soaps are so different. The pace you guys shoot out here is incredible, and the following and the fans is phenomenal; and with Home & Away there is a lot of location shooting too. So theirs is a very different kind of set-up. When I said, I hadn’t done a soap before; I meant I had never done a “proper” American style soap opera.
How is Kirsten Storms to work with?
ZACHARY: She is a gem! The thing about Kirsten is: for someone her age she has so much experience in this industry, and as actress so many mediums. I am very lucky to have been paired up with Kirsten and Ryan in story, and Ryan was fairly new to the show when I came on too. So we are so lucky because the fans love of Maxie, and Kirsten is such a beautiful, sweet, funny person. We all get along like a house on fire away from work. We hang out at Kirsten’s place with her and Brandon Barash and their daughter Harper as well. So to have the camaraderie as well off-screen it helps at work.
This coming week on General Hospital, Levi’s story begins to reveal itself as Levi and Maxie’s wedding draws near! There are so many rumors and so much speculation out there about who this guy is connected to, and what he is really doing with Maxie and in Port Charles. What can you tease about what is about to go down?

Courtesy/Pinterest Photo: Becca Gomez Farrell
ZACHARY: There is SO much going on! We had a huge week shooting the other week and it’s going to be exciting besides the physical differences that you witnessed (Zachary referring to his now short hair). It’s going to be a really, really interesting couple of weeks on-air. It gets deeper, and deeper, and deeper, and deeper!
So, Mac Scorpio (John J. York) really despises Levi! He has had him pegged from the beginning. What if turns out that Mac is really Levi’s father? Oh, the irony!
ZACHARY: Oh! If I could wish to be the son of somebody it would be John J. York (Mac) who is wearing a white pink checkerboard sort of golf pants right in front of us! I love him. Actually, that is the kind of guy I would like to have as my dad.
But, could Levi be the illegitimate son of somebody?
ZACHARY: I am the son of somebody … and I can’t say who. (Laughs)

Courtesy/ABC
What did you think when GH told you, the name of the character you would be playing was “Levi Dunkleman”? Did you say, “Wait? Are you kidding me? Is that really the name of my part?” (Laughs)
ZACHARY: (Laughs) I loved it, because he sounds like a hopeless bumbling chef: “Oh, Dunkleman you have done it again,” like that kind of a guy. When Ryan Paevey (Nathan) and Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) keep saying it, we always laugh about it. They will go; “Dunkleman ….West!” It’s like a kind of a standoff between these two enemies! If the fans don’t like Levi enough, just wait! Ron Carlivati said, “Let’s stir them up a little bit more.” And I am like “Good mate, keep poking that possum!”
So, who is Levi Dunkleman? Who do you think he is connected to? Do you despise the character of Levi? What do you think about Zachary’s comments on his take on the character? Weigh-in below!
I think he’s adorable. LOL…I do!
First, he’s right. He’s had to go against Nathan who is spectacular looking…who plays Mr. Perfect…heart of gold, loyal to a fault…who most of us have come to really like, love…be crushin’ on. 😉
That in and of itself requires a lot of self-confidence. And the irony is, as I always say, in “my” opinion…he’s quite good-looking too. I know if I met a guy who looked like him with that Aussie accent I’d be smitten! But I digress.
So he’s taken a lot of flack from the fans and he’s hangin’ in there and working his craft. Once again as I post I haven’t seen the latest episode which I think reveals his true colors…but…I’m looking forward to seeing where this story leads, who he’s related to, is he really good or evil or redeemable…and who, if anyone, he eventually gets paired up with.
I like how he came across in this interview. Down-to-earth and gracious. Hope he gets enough fan support that they keep him on the canvas!
I agree with you, Rebecca, I like Zachary too. I mean, I don’t like Levi (well, sometimes I do), but the actor is great in the part. A lot of fun. I’m glad he’ll be stirring up the pot more!
He is a little better as a thief but hasnt won me over…sorry…i dont blame the actor…he does come off as a nice likeable guy but his character is still annoying to me…maybe that will change and if he is son of fluke…i said maybe…lol
“Dunkledaddy!” LOL….Great coinage of yet another dunkleman-inspired word, jimh!!!! And it’s no wonder that you forgot about Frisco being Maxie’s father….that’s the way the showrunners want it! The only time they deign to bring it up is when Mac or Felicia besmirch his character as a deadbeat dad!
Well, yes, Mr Garred certainly cleans up well!!!! (And he seems a charming enough chap in real life!) Now just put Levi in some Brooks Brothers garb and give him a personality revamp to the right/new name and the transformation will be complete!!!! All along I was hoping that the “Dunklemeister” was a front and that underneath he was a far more heroic and upstanding character than his first impression suggested ….I guess we shall soon find out???? Perhaps an undercover agent of some sort???? That would be cool…far better than a villain’s offspring, particularly since you just know “Dudley DoRight” (aka Nathan) will most likely be a Cassadine, so we already have that territory covered!!! Having said that, I concur that ZG did a superb job of “being Levi”…..but he was truly irritating and unlikeable, so I do hope that his time as an agitator is soon to end. His story, like so many on GH, has been dragged out far too long, and it has become quite frustrating….especially with Mac being his usual ineffectual self when it came to handling this annoying nature-boy….all along I kept thinking that Frisco would have put up with his nonsense for about a minute, then called his bluff and tossed him out….it seemed rather ridiculous to me that Felicia didn’t at least call him, his and the ex-chief cop’s enmity aside, to get the dirt on Dunkleman!!! (This did concern THEIR daughter’s welfare, after all!) But that is but another inconsistency that is par for the course these days…each and every plotline appears to have huge holes in logic! Anyway, once again—miracle of miracles—we kinda, sorta agree, rebecca1!!! Is there some type of “harmonic convergence” going on that we have not been made privy to???? Hah….. ; )
I kind of wish Levi was Holly’s son or maybe Jimmy Lee’s or Holly met Jimmy Lee and had an affair with him but Levi doesnt know he is Jimmy Lee’s son and a Quartimaine but i quess they already did that storyline with Holly/Luke/Ethan…if he’s Max’s that would make Levi and Maxi cousins so if they slept together that would make my stomach turn…unless Max and Robert arent blood related but still…maybe he is flukes or Jerrys or maybe he’ll be Madelyns or Tracys somehow…i hope he is tied to the Quartimaines but he still needs to become more likeable first!!!
Sorry Shay…im an idiot…i forget Maxi is Friscos daughter(i seem to always think Robert is her dad) so she wouldnt be related to Levi if he was Macs(goofed, and said Max) son and since Mac said he cant stand Levi, he probably will turn out to be his son…next will his mum arrive in PC to cause Mac and Felicia trouble if Mac is his dunkleDaddy?
You pretty much said what I have been alluding to all along. I don’t think I could ever bring myself liking Levi. Sometimes it is difficult to separate the character from the actor, once an antipathy develops. I enjoyed his interview, though. He seems cool.
I agree when you so eloquently say that some very important and poignant facts just take a misconceptive turn. I never forgot that Maxie is Frisco’s. The same can be said about Michael when everyone refers to him as Sonny the Slick’s son. AJ was literally pushed out of the picture and then some. I just don ‘t get the fascination with Sonny. I never thought he was that great of an actor. Just my opinion, people. I suppose it’s because I don’t like slimy, short, little men with dyed, slicked-back hair. I won’t be surprised if this post is not shown. Hah!
I dont really care who Levi is. I just want him exposed and gone from Maxies life, Nathan is her man.
Not to mention the aspect that his character is low hanging fruit when it comes to culling the bloated cast. I just don’t see Levi as a long-term resident of Port Charles. No dig at the actor, for sure.
I agree! Too bad the ICE man wasn’t real. Jamil Walker Smith (Agent Scribner) was listed as being on GH twice in July. I only remember him once tho.
he looked so familiar to me… took me a while to figure out he was on Stargate Universe. Funny there were several rumors going around that he was going to play Tom Hardy’s bi-racial son, Tommy… obviously they were wrong.
I figure he, the character, was hired by Levi to impersonate an ICE agent, or else works with him to steal the jewels.
No to someones son. If I have to guess I would say Sly to KLuke’s Bill Ekert
I adore this guy! Yeah, his character is despicable, but I can’t help but be interested. And I love the acting chemistry between him, KS and RP. I really enjoy all three of them together. Plus, the guy seems to be a down-to-earth funny person. Looking forward to seeing what happens next.
yahhhh!
I love love love the da` Dunkleman !!!
and luvin RC for this
” If the fans don’t like Levi enough, just wait! Ron Carlivati said, “Let’s stir them up a little bit more.” ”
Keep it coming!! awesome !
GO!! DA`DUNKLEMAN.. !!!
We can wait and still get nothing…lol
Oh, jimH… you are wicked and funny at the same time
YES
this triangle stirs
Maxie ,.. is to be beamed… starring admiration with… cute as a button… she’s Mac’ daughter… love her scenes with mom Felicia… so…
if this stretches her acting chops… outside of Spinelli… I’ll go their
this trio… of Maxie, Nathan, and Levi
is OK
I like the trio mix… of will they or won’t they… it’s a vibe that stirs real
it’s that good… as the obvious physically gorgeous Nathan… VS … hidden agenda Levi.. came in first… but Nathan.. gells
it’s a cant’ lose situation
Yahhhh, su0000. Shut my mouth, Hippie gone vegan is really grabbing my attention. I am very interested in what’ll happen next. But. Something really drastic has to happen for me to like him.
I like all the ideas everyone has…especially the idea that he could be Mac’s son. What a twist that would be. Also Shay mentioned his being an undercover agent. What if he were sent to PC to clean the town of all it’s miscreants. That REALLY could redeem him in my eyes. But, I still think he is a bad guy working for Fluke or for Victor.
Are you from Minnesooootaaahhh? Yahhhhh?
Its miscreants…not it’s. Sometimes we have no control over these tablets.
Wish there was a delete button. I meant fake Luke.
OK-
The best casting of a GH character this year is = Zachary Garred / Levi Dunkleman!!
The best new character this year = Da`Dunkleman ..!!
If that is true, I’d hate to think what the worse character would be…lol
For 2014, that would be “Gross-alie!” Closely followed by “La Nina!” But of course, for the worst of all time, well, jimh you already know who gets my vote there!!!! ; )
heyyyy
Da`Dunkleman has pizzazz, he rocks~~!!
((better than Olivia, for sure 🙂 lol
Now that Bad, Bad Levi is starting to show more of his true colors, im beginning to like him a little…
Frank said dont play cliche? How about tell the writers not to write cliche? PLEASE Leave-i Dullkendork…well, he has picked up a little since he is there to steal Felicia’s Aztec but cheap looking jewelry that he has apparently now stolen from a day player and most likely sold or pawned it(cliches there…lol) so he can take Maxi on a lengthy honeymoon to keep her away from Nathan as long as possible…Meanwhile, since GH loves SiFi how about a storyline where this meteor falls on PC destroying all the sets except the Metro Court and killing off half the cast…lol…this way with PC destroyed by the writing…oops, i mean meteor…that leaves only the Metro Court standing all survivors must live there until PC is rebuilt…this way having the remaining cast all living under the same roof may hopefully and finally connect their stories together…lmao!!!
Also, does almost every show have to have a topless man and does Alexis have to act like an animal in heat everytime she is with Julian…where is the romance???
I thought the same thing after the Julexis breakup – would have been far more compelling if they had just shared a passionate kiss. Not so cheap.
Amen to that, jimh! Like that last mess of a sexual mash-up between those two on the living room floor….mercy! The developmentally-arrested Alexis is so overcome by her unabated (HRT-induced?) libido that she will pathetically accept any and all excuses from her mobbed-up mister just so long as he keeps her in the afterglow. It has become completely predictable and banal!
LOL, jimh. She has been nubile for a long time, so Julian brings the cougar out of her.
I just hope I will still have that much fire and energy at that age..LOL
Jim! Yes, while I applaud the idea of a fifty something year old woman getting her grove on, they act like this is the first time Alexis has let loose. How many times have we seen the buttoned up Harvard Law School graduate unbutton her blouse, fan her overheated feversih face and give into the bad boy as if she were being kissed for the very time. (Great, now I have Madonna’s “Like A Virgin” serving as my ear worm of the day). Why, I knew Alexis before she was a virgin. And enough with the exposure of the great abyss that is Alexis’s cleavage. When Spencer disappeared I surely though they’d find that boy in that horizontal crack.
Don’t get me wrong…I thought that that Zachary Garred dude was TOTALLY sincere, humble and down-to-earth in the interview. But…sad to say but I STILL CANNOT STAND his GH character Levi. No Way. No.
Sorry.
Agree! Like the actor, hate the character. But then, how many characters have come on that were hated at first then became well liked?
I’m NOT hoping that’s the case with this guy because there are already too many male characters in this age-range and not enough women for them. Dinkleman can go, and the sooner the better!
He’s the reason I stopped watching
It does make it hard to hate him as much after reading articles like this one! He is doing a spectacular job with the character, but if they want to keep him around he’ll need to be redeemed or revealed somewhat! Looking forward to all of it!
yes! looking forward to a lot more of the Da`Dunkleman !!
but–
ohh geezus with the ”redeeming” ..
I like the bad boys.. all this need for redeeming ruins great characters ..
I really do not like when a soap and its’ characters into a love-in ..
Long live the Da`Dunkleman !!!
Dunkin Doughnut fan seems one doughnut short of a dozen
Since Levi is so interested in the Aztec treasure,I wonder if he could be connected to someone from Felicias past?
The long lost son of Felicia’s boyfriend (who betrayed her) – Peter I believe his name was…
I was thinking the same thing, Elizabeth! (Or maybe Colton Shore?) Either way, I don’t find either Felicia or her tacky jewelry to be of interest. The only thing that ever made her notable in my book was her connection to ex-spouse Frisco….without him she is just bland, bland, bland!
If I remember right,Peter was shot and fell off of a waterfall, but his body was never found, and we all know what that means.
Hmmm. Good point, Tim. Maybe this has been the reason for his befriending Maxie and coming to PC all along.
I don’t even remember her before Frisco…but I’m sure I was watching! That’s just sad…
I’m very disappointed in Felicia this time around. I used to like her…she had the same whiney voice which was and is still annoying…but I liked her. She was strong, adventurous, clever…had a good head on her shoulders…but ultimately she too left her children. Beginning of her downfall. It’s funny. Everyone’s unhappy with Robin leaving Emma and Patrick, but it seems may of the female characters have left their families for high adventure…either of their own accord or under coercion. Anna left Robin, Felicia left Maxie and Georgie, Bobbie gave up Carly, Carly left Michael because of postpartum stress, Laura’s left Lulu numerous times…
Felicia is barely around…courtesy of Ron & Co. But when she is…she doesn’t seem to know her daughter at all. She’s gullible, believing Levi from the start, she’s victim to his “charm” and his interest in her Aztec heritage and she seems oblivious to her daughter’s doubts. And…I don’t find her particularly nice to Levi. Mac is the much better parent here…
correction: she’s not nice to Nathan…not Levi!!!
Love him!! Every story needs an antagonist! Soaps are about love triangles! I fell in love with Tracy Quartermaine back in the day! I am in love with Levi Dunkleman today! I predict he is Mac Scorpio’s son! I’ve said that after the first one-on-one with Mac and Levi.
Garred does an amazing job! He is should be very proud of himself with the fact his character is hated so much! Bravo!! I hope he’s here for the long haul!
I was just looking at his pics for this interview. When all is said and done…he just makes me smile/laugh… I LIKE Dunkledude!
I think if they gave him a makeover–cut his hair, stopped with the horrible tank tops, I could grow to like him.
I don’t blame him for being used like a cheap piece of plot device.
He already cut his hair…though I actually liked it long. And I don’t know why people are commenting on his body…I think he’s got a great build.
But, hahahha..cheap piece of plot device. Let’s see where he goes from here…
I figured from the word go that Levi was gonna be someone’s long lost son. When all else fails, and the writers wanna get over a new character, tie him to an established character as a family member.
Everyone is speculating on the obvious Aussie connections with the Scorpio or Jacks families, but what if the Australian accent is put on? Maybe he’s really Scottish making him Duke Lavery’s long lost son, lol. It could be anyone. Maybe he’s a Quartermaine!
I haven’t liked the character, but I do have to admit, they’ve gotten me intrigued with where this is all headed.
Uhmm, Dan. Anything is possible in soaps. But, I can personally tell you that a Scottish accent is very discernible and most difficult to hide, or even try to mimic another accent. That is a fact because my family is Scottish and even after decades of living in U S, the accent is still there…alive and kicking.
Cee Cee, forgive my going off topic but are you watching Outlander? (It is fantasy fiction so it’s somewhat related to the soap opera genre).
It’s great fun and clearly favors the Scottish rebels.
No, Dan. I have not watched the series, as yet. I have a brand new baby and an impish 5-year old who thinks he has one over me.. LOL. Whatever minute I can steal, I am posting and watching soaps. But, I am very familiar with Gabaldon’s novels. My Gran does watch, though…anything to do with her beloved Scotland is worth gold.
Harry, I realized my mistake as soon as I sent the post. Sometimes , I write in a hurry. But, I re-posted with my apologies to you. But the post did not appear. Sorry, again…the post was meant for you.
Believe me, Harry, I have my moments of lucidity. Why do you think my kids are 5 years apart? Besides, my mother has been here helping out. I’m spoiled.
I must ask Gran about those tea leaves…lol.
WHO KNOWS MAYBE NINA AND SILAS DID HAVE A BABY AND EVIL GRANDMA GOT RID OF HIM, LIKE MOTHER LIKE SON.
Are you saying that Levi could be Nina’s and Silas’ long, lost baby, Barbara? If that’s the case….too old.
Wait, am I Dan? All I can think of is Alex Forrester from Fatal Attraction saying,”I am not going to be ignored, Dan.” Does that make me Alex.
In any case thank you for answering Dan’s questions. I can’t believe you manage to post so eloquently when you have a new born baby and a five year old.
I wish you could watch it with your gran. I wonder if she read Levi’s tea leaves if she could predict his future path.
I GUESS NOT CEECEE, I WAS TAKING A WILD GUESS, I THINK HE IS TO OLD TO.
He’s a Cassadine or long-lost Jerome; I just hope he leaves the canvas soon! I cannot stand the arrogance of the character, and his constant need to be in everyone’s business. There has to be a reason he doesn’t want Maxie getting her daughter back, and why he has such a strong disliking for Nathan, who also needs to leave the show. They both are like watching paint dry: boring and lack of emotive expressions.
Maybe he’s Jerry Jax’s son…that could explain his evil ways…
True, rebecca…Jerry’s, Fluke’s, Victor’s etc. anyone of those nut cases could be his father. What if Levi and Nathan, the gorgeous, are brothers?
Makes ZERO sense to the story and those he’s going after; why would Jerry Jax’s son go after Maxie and Felicia? He’d be going after Josslyn and Carly.
@Scott. ZERO? (CAPS NOTED).
Well, let’s start with the obvious.
They’re both Australian.
They’re both duplicitous.
They’re both dangerous.
Jerry is a fortune hunter. Last we saw him he barely escaped Port Charles. Perhaps he’s enlisted his son (back story to come) to steal the fortune.
And he would never hurt Joslyn or Carly; he actually cares for them.
That’s a brain teaser, Scott. One that has me banging my head against the wall. Why, indeed! There are so many possibilities as to why Levi is so against Maxie getting her baby back. At first I thought that it was because Maxie would lavish Georgie with attention which would take away from Levi. Then I thought that a baby would be an encumbrance not fitting with his plans to whisk Maxie away ….but why? This is where I get stuck. What does Maxie have that Levi, or whomever he is working for wants?
I agree with Shay when she made the observation that Felicia should have called Frisco that their daughter was getting married in a hurry. I am sure Frisco would have gotten on his white Charger (horse) and run Levi through. LOL.
For the life of me I can’t figure it out…I’m at an impasse, and it’s driving me crazy.
Scott, your question is worth asking and I am dying to find out what Maxie has to do with all this.
I don’t want either Nathan or Dunkledude to leave the show! Two welcome additions for me. Love Nathan; one poster had said somewhere he’s the nicest character in Port Charles and I agree (although Sabrina is quite the sweetie too.) They’ve given him quite a few people to interact with and he always comes off sincere.
Yes, CeeCee, names have been tossed around as to who’s his daddy…LOL…and maybe the Aussie connection to Jerry Jax would be too obvious but it would make sense to me. Don’t see him connected to Fluke…maybe associated with Victor but not his son. I think it’s great that GH has our interests piqued enough to ask these questions!
I can’t stand Levi. I would like to slap him right across his smug face.
Michele…YES…THANK YOU!!!!! And…I would L-O-V-E to give you a hand (as in helping you)!!!!! Hell…girlfriend…you and I can B-O-T-H take turns in slapping that MORONIC Levi…LOL!!!!! Yep.
He is Fluke’s/Jerry Jax’s son.
i hated the guy, he was introduce around the time GH was unwatchable, and introducing new characters we didn’t want to see, but he’s grown on me, as a character one loves to hate. plus people keep complaining how the newbies take all the airtime, well, it looks like this storyline coming up with Levi involves The Aztec stroyline that introduce Felicia decades ago, so i hope its good and will involve Kristina Wagner in this story.
The GH audience will be shocked to its core when it learns Levi’s biological father is . . . Richard Simmons (which means his obnoxiousness is genetic).
Andy G.- you’re making me laugh and gag at the same time. I don’t think I can take any more stupid scenes with Richard Simmons and his sprayed-over bald spots.
How do you know that is true or not. I haven’t heard that Levi’s father is Richard Simmons . Which I don’t particularly like. He is too hyper.
Susan M., my post was a form of communication commonly referred to in English as a “joke.” Your inability to perceive that dismays me.
Wow!!!!!
I said that myself about Levi around when he first showed up…that his parents are Richard Simmons and…Daffy Doodle, the clown that appeared for one episode back in the 80s…dont know if you watched back then but that episode deliberately delayed the return of Laura by 1 episodes but i loved the suspense…great minds do think alike Andy…lol
All I need for entertainment are your posts, jimh ….and Harry’s.
Well, I didn’t know it was a JOKE! And don’t put me down for that ANDY G. Get my drift. No need, for the snide remark. I will avoid you in the future.
I started laughing… as soon as I saw Levi
is he another messiah
the token virtue of choice
LOL
Maxie fell again
her eat love pray sojourn escalated to this?
would Levi stimulate more than…. “Nathan”
will Maxie backtrack and take the obvious Nathan… or stick by… Levi, the stalwart, with gamesmanship ploy
it’s amazing how much we root for Kirsten Storms
Now, I am interested in this story! We all know that Nathan and Maxie are end game, thank God! I think I will enjoy the story playing out!
I HATE HATE HATE Levi, but I knew from day one that I was supposed to. And I am okay with that. I love the villains on the show, Helena, Ava, Obrecht, Faison, Jerry, Nina, Heather Webber (my fave), Fluke, Faith Rosco, Anthony and Claudia Zacharra, etc., and I have a feeling that once Levi drops the hippie dippie granola routine, and cuts that hair, he’ll probably be incredible. Don’t get me wrong, I love the heroes and anti heroes, most of the time… sometimes, I just can’t connect. Levi just raises my blood pressure, and I know that’s what he’s supposed to do. Great job from a great actor at playing a terrible character!
I am so glad to read what a nice, down-to-earth guy ZG is because Levi annoys the CRAP out of me. I am the mom of an 18 year old vegan man who thank GOD is not a Dunkleman! Happy about the short haircut too!
I felt like Levi had Maxie brainwashed from the beginning… but it kind of made sense with how much she has been through and how much self-loathing she has and with Spinelli gone, her true love…aftershe betraying him in one of the worst ways possible. She must not have been able to trust herself with anything. Then along comes this cute Ausie guy who seemed to have all the answers……. but he took advantage of her and he was clearly controlling of her!! Some of the Levi stuff was REALLY funny I am keeping those episodes lol.. and as a vegetarian, I loved his passion for animal rights so I was hopping that Levi wouldn’t be ALL bad lol……I can’t wrap my mind around how a vegan animal rights activist can be so bad..:( 🙁 But it has me intrigued!! lol I can’t wait to find out how this all plays out. 🙂
I can’t stand Levi. He has been stringing Maxi along. He doesn’t care for her one bit. And that hair-do is awful. He is such a liar. I find nothing interesting about him. And he has the Aztec necklace. I don’t want Maxi to go threw this farce of a marriage. I don’t like his character at all. I hope he isn’t going to be on GH on a permanent basis.
Maxi belongs with Nathan NOT Levi!
Susan…Y-E-S…THANK YOU!!!!! More and more, I like the way you think!!!!! The fact that Maxie is so into that Levi chump says to me that Maxie clearly has NO RESPECT for herself at all!!!!! Most of all, if Maxie cannot and/or will not open her eyes and realize that Nathan is THE MAN for her and N-O-T that annoying idiot Levi…then Maxie (IMO) has NO TASTE AT ALL when it comes to men. I’m sorry but I gotta call ’em as I see ’em. Yep.
Take care, Susan. And have a good one.
Peace.
For a while, I thought he might be a secret Quartermaine…son of Jimmy Lee Holt.. now the Aztec thing…who knows?
I like Levi and the actor, and I hope they keep him. I’d love for him to be Mac’s or Robert’s son. Also, he could be a new love interest for Sabrina, Britt or Kiki, or perhaps Brad.
I figured when he first showed up on the set, that he’d be temporary… he’s just lasted longer than I’d like. Took a while for them to reveal the aztec jewelry is his motivation for being in Port Chuck. So I suppose he thinks that he kills his bride or his brides mum that he will get his hands on the aztec treasure?? I remember Felicia having other jewelry of her grandmother’s long ago… this green set she had lately is all new to me.
I hope Nathan and Mac figure things out quickly! The sooner Dunkleman is gone the better!
and then poor Maxie will realize she is still a failure at doing the right thing, and worse at figuring out who the bad guys are in her life!
Jerry Jax is his father!!!
I see a lot of names that SHOULD be brought back. Colton, Jimmy Lee, Julia Barrett, Brenda. Come on RANK [Ron and Frank!] cut the crap, and bring back some GH history! See you later Levi, Sabrina, Jordan, and TJ.
lol
geeez did you ever think that perhaps they moved and have no need or want to return to GH
Too may believe all who are no longer with GH want to be, again , not true..
Sheezuz blame
Ron and Frank for everything..
Now, right now, new history is being created.. like the old bones lie in peace..:)
Your right, PC is riddled with crime! I dont blame RANK, they saved GH. I thank them BUT, they are driving the car and I wish they would travel down some old roads every once in awhile.
this man is a very good actor because he IS the most despised character on GH!!!! I hope he doesn’t take it personally. These GH fans are very passionate. I think hes probably Macs son & that should set up a very good story!!!!
Oh, my poor Nathan. I want to get my hands on lashless eyes Levi and eject him from the GH set…lol…except I’m 5′ 2″ and barely 100 lbs. Lol
This guy is SO annoying and unattractive. His teeth creep me out and that stupid hair too!! Be gone ….
Does Maxie have to marry everyone? Geez. Talk about no growth.
Hes an imposter.
As long as he isn’t a vampire– I’m cool
I kind of like Levi, just because he’s different and it’s always fun to have a new and different character that you love to hate. Lol
From what I’ve read lately, a lot of people seem to believe that he is really Sly Eckert. I guess I could see that. Would rather him be Sly than related to another newbie.
He is either Victor’s son (making him Nathan’s half bro) or related to Felica’s Ex, Peter Harrell.
Levi is a real scaliwag but ZG is a great actor! When he first emerged as a character from Australia, I thought he may have some connection with Jax. We will have to wait and see what happens.
Hey, Michael. Great interview with Levi. I also disliked this character the minute I saw him.. But, as the soap progressed, I realized this is a very excelllant actor and the writers have created a very annoying character that will go down in history, according to most of your viewers, I cannot wait to see the next incarnation!.!
General Hospital
GENERAL HOSPITAL: Emma Wants to Save Anna, Isaiah’s Career is All But Destroyed, Joe Makes an Arrest
The Monday, May 18 episode of General Hospital brought with it a startling discovery, a new reality for one surgeon, a new cop on the scene, and a granddaughter determined to protect her grandmother.
First, Laura (Genie Francis) tells Mac (John J. York) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) that Anna (Finola Hughes) is in worse trouble than she was previously after she had Kevin to check on her while he was in Europe. They head out to update Emma (Braedyn Bruner) and Felicia (Kristina Wagner).
Meanwhile, Emma gets upset over Anna during a discussion with Felicia and breaks Anna’s favorite coffee cup. Emma is overcome with sadness and cries, trying to figure out how she is supposed to be so happy with Gio (Giovanni Mazza), while Anna is locked away somewhere against her own will.

BAD NEWS FOR EMMA
Laura and Mac arrive to talk with Emma and Felicia, and reveal how Anna escaped and made it to the border, but she was now in the custody of the French authorities and they are transferring her to a long term mental illness facility, which freaks out Emma just as Gio arrives. Emma runs into his arms. Laura says at this point, Anna needs a strong advocate and she will make a call on her behalf. (But to who?)
At the Metro Court pool, Curtis (Donnell Turner) is arrested by Detective Joe Fitzpatrick (Jonathan Bennett) after throwing a punch at Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson). Joe takes Curtis to the station where Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) tells Fitzgerald to remove Curtis’ handcuffs. Now inside the interrogation room, Curtis explains that he believes Isaiah left he and Jordan (Tanisha Harper) dead at the side of the road the night of the accident and provoked him.
BROKEN HAND, BROKEN MAN
Curtis just wants to put it all behind him and says he will pay for Isaiah’s medical bills, but Dante informs him, he is trouble and he needs to call a lawyer. So, he calls Jordan. Meanwhile, Isaiah gets looked at while at General Hospital, and his hand is messed up. He comes to learn he will need multiple surgeries not only for broken bones but two tendons were severed in the process. Isaiah realizes his surgical days are numbered possibility forever, if not for a very long time.
JOSSLYN FINDS ANNA’S MESSAGE
While being held hostage, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) tries again to convince Cassius (Ryan Paevey) to set her free. That leads into the two playing cards and Cassius asking Josslyn how she got into the WSB. Josslyn admits her boyfriend was murdered and she killed the person who was the culprit for retribution. She says she put together all the pieces that he did the crime, and now this line of work gives her purpose.
In the shocking final moments, after Cassius leaves for the night, Josslyn heads to the cot in the other part of the holding room and sees a hand-carved message on the wall from Anna that she was there and help captive on October 31, 2025. We fade to black.
So what did you think of the concern Emma showed for Anna, and the performance of Braedyn Bruner? What are your very initial impressions of Jonathan Bennett as Joe Fitzgerald? Which character is annoying you more in the story … Curtis, Jordan, Portia or Isaiah? Weigh-in via the comment section.

GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Detective Fitzpatrick is on the Scene, Nina Has to Silence Jack, Josslyn Needs an Escape Route
This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital investigations, protection modes and conflict are the order of the day. In the just released ABC promo for the soap opera entitled “Held Captive,” first Lulu (Alexa Havins) is preparing to flea the country with Rocco (Finn Carr) if necessary including having passports ready and their bags packed.
However, with Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) having full-knowledge of Rocco shooting Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) and his own desire and plan to keep his son safe right in Port Charles, he firmly tells Lulu,“You will make my son a fugitive over my dead body!”
Meanwhile, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) is trying to find a way out of captivity and as she moves her bed she finds a shocking message,“Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) was held captive here. I was taken on 10-31-25.” Suddenly, Josslyn is so panicked and determined. She tells herself she is going to get out of there. Next, we see her smashing a chair into someone’s face! Can she find a way out? Will Cassius (Ryan Paevey) be waiting for her to throw her back in?

GENERAL HOSPITAL SPOILERS
Nina (Cynthia Watros) is getting all jittery again, as it appears she has gone back into Jack Brennan’s (Chris McKenna) hospital room and is ready to inject him with another secret dose of the medication to keep him in a paralytic state, after she accidentally jabbed him during his brawl with Valentin (James Patrick Stuart). As viewers know, that dose of the drug meant to keep Drew in a locked-in state. However, now Jack starts to move!
In addition, General Hospital welcomes Jonathan Bennett to the cast as PCPD Detective Joe Fitzpatrick, and in key moment he is seen at the police station. As to just what Joe will be up to? Well, in an additional newly released clip featuring Bennett in his debut episode on Monday, it’s clear that Detective Fitzpatrick is looking into Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Isaiah’s (Sawandi Wilson) altercation at the Metro Court Pool when he says, “What are the chances Ashford talks his way out of an arrest? General Hospital
‘General Hospital’s’ Finn Carr and Dominic Zamprogna Deliver the ‘Power Performances of the Week’
The on-screen father/son combo of General Hospital’s Dante and Rocco Falconeri as portrayed by Dominic Zamprogna and Finn Carr were part of high emotional stakes scenes on episodes airing May 11-15.
First, Finn Carr’s Rocco is so guilt-ridden and burdened with the secret that he shot WSB director, Ross Cullum that it’s eating him alive. So much so, that he gets into a heated argument with Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) and Danny (Asher Antonyzyn). Rocco feels so badly that Danny’s father was taken from him for parts unknown by the WSB, all because Jason refused to implicate Rocco as the shooter.
In a heartbreaking scene, Rocco shows up at Britt’s door and lets her know he can’t take it anymore and that the secret he is keeping is tearing him apart. The fear is palpable in Rocco’s eyes. Britt calls Rocco a hero for saving her life and Jason’s and he has to remember that. Britt hugs him and promises that he can come talk to her anytime. In that moment, Rocco felt seen and felt safe.

ROCCO ON THE EDGE
All of the beats mentioned above were played with depth and acting maturity by Finn Carr; that it is so very clear why the writers and the producers are so comfortable giving him the ball in this umbrella story. He steps up to the plate every time and hits it out of the park.
Rocco also overheard his parents fighting over him after Dante figured out that Rocco was responsible for the shooting, and confronted Lulu (Alexa Havins) for withholding the truth from him. As their argument escalated and their relationship was further threatened by the lies, Rocco listened to the whole thing from the outside porch.
Eventually Dante, who had learned the truth by having Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) help him piece together what happened the night Cullum was shot, has a heart to heart with his son. He asks Rocco to tell him in his own words the events that transpired, and promises Rocco, that even though he is the police commissioner, he is going to help him. Rocco goes step by step over how Cullum was about to strike Jason with a weighted-baton and how the gun was loose on the ground and he shot him. Dante says his actions saved Jason and Britt’s life, and that he is going to help his son from here on out. He just wished everyone had come to him sooner, because as the father it’s his job to protect his son, not the other way around.
DANTE COMES TO TERMS
Still later in the week, Dante is visited by Elizabeth, and they discuss how they are going to cover-up any evidence that Rocco was at the hospital the night of the shooting with a hand injury, and that Dante is going to make sure the evidence against Rocco disappears. Something that is a huge disconnect for anyone that knows what a fine and upstanding cop Dante has been through the years, but he is determined to help his son stay safe and to keep him close.
However, Cullum is on the hunt for said evidence, and thinks Danny may have shot him in the back (or does he … and he knows Rocco shot him?). He visits Dante’s office and wants the evidence in the shooting. Meanwhile, bets are we are a few story beats away from Danny learning Rocco shot Cullum.
Throughout all the material given to Finn Carr and Dominic Zamprogna they rose to the occasion. Finn, getting the opportunity to play the often uptight Rocco on the edge, and Dominic, showing us how he can make us feel what Dante is feeling just by watching the emotion and hurt in his eyes. Therefore, Michael Fairman TV names Finn Carr and Dominic Zamprogna our picks for the Power Performances of the Week.
Now below, let us know if you agree with our picks of Finn and Dominic as the standout performances of the week, and if so, what moment really tugged on your heartstrings featuring Rocco and/or Dante via the comment section.
