Bradford Anderson Slated for Another Return To General Hospital!

Great news Spinelli fans! Soap Opera Digest is hearing that fan favorite Bradford Anderson is being set to reprise his role of the computer nerd we all know and love on General Hospital!

Fans last saw Anderson, it was around May during the Nurses Ball where after leaving Ellie (Emily Wilson) to try to rekindle something with long time love and mother to his daughter, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms), eventually he reunited with Ellie and left Port Charles, again.

Now with the new writing regime’s scripts about to take hold in the very near future, it looks like Spinelli is being written back into the canvas.

But what will bring Spinelli back?  Will he finally hold an important clue so that “Jake” remembers he is Jason (Billy Miller) in time for November Sweeps?

Share your thoughts below, and if you are glad Bradford will be making another return to the ABC daytime drama series!

I’m a fan of Spinelli so I think it’s great news this character is back! But, nooooooo…let’s hope Jake realizes he’s Jason before November! It’s beyond ridiculous at this point…

I so agree…do the Jason reveal sooner…dragging it out is why there is a ratings decline!!!

Perhaps, Spinelli will be the catalyst to break through Jake’s buried memories. Could it be that is the reason he’s back? Hmmmmm.

Plus,plus,plus….

I know…they better get their act together before GH becomes just another memory.

Spinelli looked at Jake’s butt and thought Jason immediately..don’t know what that was about..so he’ll probably be the one to dig up truth with Carly and Sam harping in his ear like the two shrews they are written as…lol

That is hilarious, davlestev. I missed that. Jake’s butt brought memories of Jason to Spinelli’s mind? Perhaps, Jake’s gait….his mode of walking will do the trick.
But, seriously. I agree with you, as I stated above……what other reason would there be for bringing Spin back? It must be to help reveal Jake’s true identity….it could only mean that time is nigh….yes?

)ooh goodie!
Spinelli’s back!
I like him 🙂

((wonder what happend to Port Chuck))

Yeayyyyy, su….same here….his brainiac disposition and that certain bashfulness/humility endears him to me…..I dig that. I had a physics teacher who would say, “I can dig that…” whenever I gave him my version of the answer…LOL. Spinelli reminds me of him. So out-there-smart.

I hope his return is better than his last visit which was just to drag out the Maxi/Nathan pairing which is a snooze…i might watch some eps as soon as the new writing team take over…i only watch the last five minutes and previews now!!!

@jimh.
Hey, Jimh. I can understand what you’re saying….I suppose you can only take Spinelli in small doses. But, I’d rather be amused by him than wanting to punch Morgan and Sonny out…LOL.

I hear you, CeeCee!!!! How can one not LOVE Spinelli’s use of unique verbiage, extremely descriptive vocabulary and clever nicknames for Port Charles’ denizens???? His idiosyncratic speech tendencies are what always grabbed me about this most special of characters! Plus, it’s nice to have someone of far above average intelligence (as opposed to the often subpar….) turning up on the GH canvas….let’s face it, Dr. O. can’t pull all the intellectual weight to compensate for the immense number of dullards that populate Port Chuck! (That would be the town, not the band! LOL.)

Yay! I love Spinelli and I hope he and Maxie reunite!

I hope Jake remembers he’s Jason before November but I’ve said this before, maybe Spinelli can come to Sonny and Carly’s wedding and say something that triggers Jake/Jason’s memories that Jake searches out Spinelli and discusses whatever Spinelli had said. Jake has been having flashbacks already and he is right on the verge of remembering. It would only take someone like Spinelli who was Jason’s friend to help open up the flood gates. I love Sonny/Jason/Spinelli interactions. Bring Spinelli home to Port Charles.

Glad to hear this

Who cares? This character is useless. nerdy guy bad actor. ABC just pull the plug and cancel Gh. Bring back one Life To Live.

From your lips to God’s ear! I agree 100%!! GH out – OLTL in!!!

Well, now, Erin. I will always mourn OLTL, and hope against hope it could return, but, realistically, it’s not going to happen. I am a relatively new fan of GH….I love it……I critique many of the characters and storylines, as I do my other two remaining soaps…..but, I do not want GH gone from the soap world or the land of television.
I understand we all get frustrated, believe me, most storylines move as slow as molasses, but I do enjoy GH. Hang in there. LOL.

Hey Erin FrankenRon tried their damndest to turn GH into OLTL . Look at the ratings.

There’s no way oltl can return and be that show you loved so it’s pointless to want it to come back, even the online version was bad.

I adore bradford and his character. however, what started bothering me, is when they started writing him as a lead character, rather than as a supporting character. when, they started giving him as much screen time as jason, i started getting very bored. i love this character, but sparilngly and in a supportive role. and when they started to write him, even as a hunk i thought that was odd. i have no prob admitting that i don’t watch an entire soap for a character like spinelli. he adds to the humor and wit. however, i have no prob admitting that i would never tune into a whole show to watch spinelli. i want to see him in a fun loving supportive role, the way he was originally written. not as a lead 🙂

well maybe the new writers will give you your wish…………………….

Very good point. Maybe thats the key to digesting his antics.

I think Spinelli is an integral part of the Jake/Jason reveal.
It would only make sense.

Hope Ellie comes back, too.

Char, she was about as useful as a wet blanket in a winter storm!

Oh yes, Ellie Trout was definitely a “C” or “D” character, but she was consistent.

So glad to hear he’s coming back.

He plays a really good nerdy guy.

I hope he brings Jason back to us.

Spinelli makes me SMILE.

Awesome!! So glad to see he’s coming back! He brings a lot to the canvas!

His late return was terrible. Hoping this time it’s better!

SOOOO glad Brad’s coming back (let’s hope for good). Sam, the PCPD, organized crime, you name ’em…all need the Jackal’s mad skills. Maybe things will actually get resolved with his help. Maybe he came come back and identify Jake/Jason’s behind again.

Lets just hope he is the toned down Spin. That mouth , like the old Maxie’s made my FF finger itch. I like the actor , but if he is coming back to kiss Jason’s butt. fergetaboutit. Guza is gone let it stay that way.

Spinelli was to me, a one trick pony. Too much! However, if you bring him in and use him in small doses and have him be part of the Jason reveal, okay. Plus, I would like to see Hayden get a hold of the Jackyl and use him as her chew toy!

hey Timmm..
did you not notice how RC had calmed down Spin? Looks like a turn for him..
RC also took away Olivia’s strong bronx accent, she is more sophisticated now.
RC has mellowled and softened Dr. O .. her accent is no longer as prominent.

I am looking forward to a calmer Spin..

So is he coming back full time or just another guest appearance?

Guest appearance Aria, I hope Spinelli gets shot and dies. He is very annoying and I hope Dr. O shoots him or give the sob an injection. Lol. Calling Heather Webber where is my BLT sandwich Lol.

So hAppy you are bringing Bradford back he is very good at acting and so funny and smart!! Can’t wait!!

Yeah!!!!!!!!! Love Spinelli. I hope he gets a contract and stays. Let the fun begin

I’m a huge Spinelli fan, and I’m glad he’s coming back! But hopefully this return isn’t like his most recent one. Spinelli as a vindictive, manipulative person is NOT the real Spinelli. Now that new writers are on board, maybe they’ll redeem his character after all the trouble he caused for Maxie and Nathan, and even his relationship with Ellie. My bet is that he’ll be back for when Jake is FINALLY revealed as Jason, which will hopefully happen before November Sweeps.

I like Spinelli I’m glad he is coming back, I’m with a lot of others why wait until the Nov sweep for the reveal of Jason. why drag it out

I love BA and his character, Spinnelli. Unfortunately, this is just a short visit to help with the Jason reveal. RC sucks. They brought back Spin just to mess with the Spixie fans and the Spixie lovestory. His last on screen appearance was ridiculous. Nathan is growing on me but he’s just too perfect and Maxie is boring with him. My hope for the Jason reveal was for Sam and “Jake” somehow both end up at the Chinese restaurant that they got married at on their Wedding Anniversary and the memories just flood back to Jake to where he passes out, Sam rushes him to GH and Liz has to hear him asking for Sam as he is waking up. But that aint happening.

GH needs someone like spinilli to give the show the humor and action this show has been lacking. Please replace Valerie and Kiki neither does anything for the show. Get some real acting going. Give spin a bar so he can sing I miss the entertainment. Not interested in discussing yet another social issue with bipolar sorry. Seen enough of Sonny and Carly’s weddings. There’s so much unused talent here remember the old GH? Utilize the seasons, don’t worry about offending someone.

REPORT: Nicholas Chavez Not Returning to General Hospital

For those who were holding out hope that Daytime Emmy winner and fan favorite, Nicholas Chavez would be returning to General Hospital after filming his leading role in Ryan Murphy’s Monsters anthology, it looks like those hopes have been dashed.

According to a report from TV Line, although unconfirmed from General Hospital or a representative for Chavez, the actor will not reprise his role as Spencer Cassadine on the long-running ABC soap opera and continue the love story of Sprina opposite Tabyana Ali (Trina, GH).

Chavez was cast as Lyle Menendez over the the summer of 2023 for the second season of Murphy’s limited Monsters series on Netflix. In the upcoming season, the series will focus on the the case of Lyle and Erik Menendez, the two well-to-do Beverly Hills brothers accused of murdering their parents in 1989.

Photo: ABC

After word from Chavez casting was revealed, GH fans were concerned over the fate of the Sprina story, a spokesperson for GH shared,  “We support Nicholas’ endeavors and look forward to having him return to General Hospital once this project is wrapped.”

In story, the series “killed off” Spencer when he went overboard with Esme to the steely waters below after being injected with a drug, thanks to Esme and falling into the Seine River in France. However, his body was never recovered, and believed to have drowned or washed away. Thus, leaving an opening for Spencer to return in the form of Chavez or be recast down the line.

Photo: ABC

TV Line shared that ‘multiple sources’ are confirming that Chavez is not returning to the ABC soap opera, which is what many had suspected might be the case once he left for this major starring role in a Ryan Murphy project. Chavez has been relatively quiet on social media for months.

Photo: ABC

The Michael Fairman Channel spoke with Nicholas Chavez for a virtual interview when he first joined the show in 2021, and spoke to him right after when he won the Daytime Emmy in 2022 – you can see those below.

No word yet on when Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story will debut on Netflix, but it is assumed later this year.

So, what do you think about the news of Nicholas Chavez not returning to his role as Spencer Cassadine on General Hospital? Comment below.

Jack Wagner Open to Making an Appearance in ‘Melrose Place’ Reboot and Shares, “You Never Really Die on a Soap”

With the Melrose Place revival the talk of the town, now Jack Wagner (ex-Frisco, GH, ex-Nick, B&B and ex-Peter Burns, MP) has weighed-in on it and if he would show up in the new series if it should find a home.

Currently, CBS Studios is developing a reboot starring Heather Locklear, Daphne Zuniga and Laura Leighton. But what is Dr. Peter Burns were to show up alive?

As those who saw the end of the original MP know, Peter and Amanda (Locklear) faked their deaths and then tied the knot with Peter on a beach, supposedly in a “happily ever after” scenario.

Photo: Fox

Speaking with PEOPLE, Wagner expressed, what we all know who watch the soaps, that no one is never, ever really gone for good. Jack expressed, “You never really die on a soap, right? How they unfold those two characters (Peter and Amanda), it’d be fantastic how they sort of tell that story.”

Wagner added, “That was a great finale to be included in, especially with Heather. If I’m asked to come back, I’d absolutely entertain that.”

Photo: Fox

The original Melrose Place aired for seven seasons from 1992 to 1999. The story featured the residents of an apartment complex, whose lives were intertwined. Eventually Wagner and Heather Locklear dated fro 2007-2011.

As previously reported, the new Melrose Place share that some of original neighbors and friends reunite after a death. The loglines add, “The pressure cooker of a reunion soon uncovers old traumas, rekindles old romances, reignites old resentments, and reveals new secrets… throwing our characters into chaotic drama that’s reminiscent of the past, but with a much more modern perspective.”

So, would you like to see Jack Wagner return as Dr. Peter Burns on Melrose Place, or Frisco Jones on GH, or both? Comment below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Brook Lynn and Chase Have Their Bachelor and Bachelorette Parties

On General Hospital, Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase (Josh Swickard) both were treated to Bachelorette and Bachelor parties to shake off any of those pre-wedding jitters. At The Savoy, the ladies have a touching and fun time with Brook Lynn.

The bride-to-be gives a speech to thank everyone for coming, while Lois lets everyone know to try the signature cocktail the “Brooklynn Chaser”, which gets everybody eventually and mostly, drunk.

When Tracy (Jane Elliot) questions Lois (Rena Sofer) as to why there is no music for the party, Lois realizes she forgot, and somehow, who does she call to the rescue? Spinelli (Bradford Anderson)! Saving the day, he winds up playing some tunes and later gets on the dance floor to ‘shake it off’ with the gals.

Photo: ABC

Lois makes a speech as the mother of the bride, and shares how proud she is of the woman Brook Lynn has become. Wedding games begin, including one of “hot potato” with a wedding bouquet.

When it’s time for the “Silly Poses” section of the party, Spinelli has now morphed from DJ to staff photographer taking memorable photos of the ladies to remember the evening by.

Photo: ABC

The best part of the event, was when Brook Lynn tries to get her grandmother Tracy out on the dance floor, which, at first, she refuses. After several of the guests bust a move, a tipsy Tracy joins the dance party after Joss mentions that if her grandmother Bobbie was here, she would dance. Tracy says “she agrees” and begins to cut a rug on the floor, much to the delight of the other women.

Photo: ABC

In the final moments, a tipsy Joss and Kristina (Kate Mansi) have a confrontation about Sonny, and Joss lets Kristina in more on Sonny’s behavior, which looks to have clued in Kristina a bit more as to how something is way off about her dad.

Photo: ABC

Across town at the Hatchett Bar, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and the men with the exception of Anna (Finola Hughes) and Jordan (Tanisha Harper), all attend Chase’s Bachelor Party where throwing hatchets into a dart board for supremacy is the order of the day. Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Ned (Wally Kurth) get into some words over ELQ, while Dante makes a toast to his police partner, Chase.

Photo: ABC

Suddenly Dex (Evan Hofer) shows up. Chase thanks Dex for coming, but Dex gets some dirty looks from other cops on the force. Dante gives Chase his present, which is a signed baseball by the Boston Red Sox.

Ned (Wally Kurth) makes a speech that although no one is good enough for his daughter, Brook Lynn, Chase has come closer than anyone has, so welcome to the family. Running in at the end is Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez), who just left Brook Lynn’s party, and she toasts her singing partner, Chase, and to the great man that he is.

What did you think of Brook Lynn and Chase’s pre-wedding celebrations? What was your favorite moment? Comment below.
