The Bold and the Beautiful is once again extending the Spencer clan, as it is becoming one of the prominent families on the CBS soap!

In casting news today out of Soap Opera Digest, “B&B is looking for a Caucasian female in her mid-to-late 40s to play Julie Spencer, a beautiful, smart and sophisticated businesswoman. The role is recurring, with a possibility of it becoming contract. The show wants recognizable names only.”

So just how would Julie be related to Bill Spencer played by Don Diamont?   That is one of the questions viewers will have!

Let us know what recognizable names you would submit to B&B’s casting to be considered for the role of Julie?  Who would you like to see back on a daytime soap opera? Let us know!

Marcy Walker

Robin Christopher, Tamara Braun or Gina Tognoni!

Gina Tognoni if they are smart.

Sarah Joy Brown

I desire an actress of soap opera “Loaving”, that is very popular in other countries, like Italy…
for example: Noelle Beck … Lisa Peluso …Laurin Marie Taylor …the actress that personified Dinahlee Mc Berry …

I would love to see either Gina Tognoni (ex-Dinah, GL; ex-Kelly, OLTL) or Beth Chamberlin (ex-Beth, GL). Both women would be fantastic to see returning to daytime. Or maybe even a non-soap actress that could be up-and-coming!

I don’t know that Bill needs another sibling…hopefully Julie would be a hard-hitting ex-wife instead! I was kind of hoping B&B would bring BIll’s mother to town in the form of a powerhouse actress (think Elizabeth Hubbard) to be the only one who could control the uncontrollable Dollar Bill! However,,,an ex-wife would do!

I too would LOVE to see Elizabeth Hubbard as Dollar Bill’s mom! Bill Bell hear our voices…

robin christopher!!!!!

Wendy Moniz

It’s hard to say since the character description is so generic. There are so many talented actresses out there that I’d love to see on any show that it is hard to say one or another.

Julie Pinson

Gina and Tamara are a little young. Mid to late 40‘s…let‘s see…i would LOVE to see Marcy Walker back on soaps but last I heard she is doing something much more worthwhile and is heavily involved in her church, so she is not returning to soaps. I say Jensen Buchanan!! Loved loved loved her as Vicky on Another World. Maybe then they could lure Tom Eplin out of retirement too!

Shouldn’t julie spencer be one of caroline’s adopted siblings? That would be the most logical storyline bec the lesbian couple is based on joanna who has adopted children who are racial minorities. The spencer clan can have racial diversity thru this kind of casting. Here’s the problem for racial minority actors and particularly Asian american actors. No one hires them and creates roles for them on day soaps. They get no acting experience. And then casting calls are made for soap actors w/ acting experience on soaps only. Casting calls require that the actor is known from prior soaps. How can racial minority actors and especially Asian american actors get acting experience on soaps when there are no day soap operas that hire them? There are no day soap operas w/ any Asian american chars on abc and cbs! None on gh and yet it’s based on a hospital from a fictional town from ny w/c should have Asian americans among the medical storylines. None on days. None on y&r. None on amc. Only recurring chars on oltl. And none on b&b and yet there are tons of Asian american fashion designers! The population of l.a. has more Asian americans compared to African americans. There should be some Asian american chars on b&b. Casting julie spencer as an Asian american char who is adopted would be a good step towards rectifying that problem for b&b. Casting calls like these were part of the factors that made me quit even reading abt the storylines on b&b.

Catherine Hickland…….

Liam’s mother to get into it with Brooke –and Taylor

Liam’s mother is dead and never married Bill.

Julie Pinson.

I’m thinking a cousin.

I like Julie Pinson like others have suggested. I have no clue though and will leave casting up to Brad Bell.

an actress of Loaving please!!! for Italy!!!

Beth Ehlers, Maura West, Kelley Menighan Hensley, Martha Byrne 🙂 theres a few real good ones!!!

Maura West, Martha Byrne or Kelley Menighan Hensley!

Kelly hensley, Martha Byrne (or the actor who played Susan Stewart on As The World Turns)

Genie Frances!

Elizabeth Berkley

I know she’s busy, but Martha Byrne will be perfect for this role!

How do you apply for that position? what type of experience do they need?

I would love to see Martha Byrne back on soap.

Julie Spencer is Quinn.
Bill got fired and he will find a job at the Quinn ‘s
So this is for me very clear that Julie Spencer is Quinn! or can be Bills daughter!!!!
Because Wyatt is for sure Bills son!….This is what I believe.
I AM 12 YEARS OLD AND I AM A PIANIST AND ORGANIST! Thanks to my mom because she is my jewel and I love her so much!
I like all the characters in B&B. I save it ,when I come from the school I am watching it .
I am a A+ STUDENT and I am looking to meet all the characters from the soap opera in Hollywood! I love school, acting and music! This year I will audition for Juilliard NY for Precollege! Good luck and God bless the producer Mr. Bell! With love and respect for all the girls in B&B…….JB! I LOVE YOU KIM MATULA! Thank you for accepting me as a friend on facebook!

Sorry I did a mistake. I am 22 years old!

REPORT: Nicholas Chavez Not Returning to General Hospital

For those who were holding out hope that Daytime Emmy winner and fan favorite, Nicholas Chavez would be returning to General Hospital after filming his leading role in Ryan Murphy’s Monsters anthology, it looks like those hopes have been dashed.

According to a report from TV Line, although unconfirmed from General Hospital or a representative for Chavez, the actor will not reprise his role as Spencer Cassadine on the long-running ABC soap opera and continue the love story of Sprina opposite Tabyana Ali (Trina, GH).

Chavez was cast as Lyle Menendez over the the summer of 2023 for the second season of Murphy’s limited Monsters series on Netflix. In the upcoming season, the series will focus on the the case of Lyle and Erik Menendez, the two well-to-do Beverly Hills brothers accused of murdering their parents in 1989.

After word from Chavez casting was revealed, GH fans were concerned over the fate of the Sprina story, a spokesperson for GH shared,  “We support Nicholas’ endeavors and look forward to having him return to General Hospital once this project is wrapped.”

In story, the series “killed off” Spencer when he went overboard with Esme to the steely waters below after being injected with a drug, thanks to Esme and falling into the Seine River in France. However, his body was never recovered, and believed to have drowned or washed away. Thus, leaving an opening for Spencer to return in the form of Chavez or be recast down the line.

TV Line shared that ‘multiple sources’ are confirming that Chavez is not returning to the ABC soap opera, which is what many had suspected might be the case once he left for this major starring role in a Ryan Murphy project. Chavez has been relatively quiet on social media for months.

The Michael Fairman Channel spoke with Nicholas Chavez for a virtual interview when he first joined the show in 2021, and spoke to him right after when he won the Daytime Emmy in 2022 – you can see those below.

No word yet on when Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story will debut on Netflix, but it is assumed later this year.

Jack Wagner Open to Making an Appearance in ‘Melrose Place’ Reboot and Shares, “You Never Really Die on a Soap”

With the Melrose Place revival the talk of the town, now Jack Wagner (ex-Frisco, GH, ex-Nick, B&B and ex-Peter Burns, MP) has weighed-in on it and if he would show up in the new series if it should find a home.

Currently, CBS Studios is developing a reboot starring Heather Locklear, Daphne Zuniga and Laura Leighton. But what is Dr. Peter Burns were to show up alive?

As those who saw the end of the original MP know, Peter and Amanda (Locklear) faked their deaths and then tied the knot with Peter on a beach, supposedly in a “happily ever after” scenario.

Photo: Fox

Speaking with PEOPLE, Wagner expressed, what we all know who watch the soaps, that no one is never, ever really gone for good. Jack expressed, “You never really die on a soap, right? How they unfold those two characters (Peter and Amanda), it’d be fantastic how they sort of tell that story.”

Wagner added, “That was a great finale to be included in, especially with Heather. If I’m asked to come back, I’d absolutely entertain that.”

Photo: Fox

The original Melrose Place aired for seven seasons from 1992 to 1999. The story featured the residents of an apartment complex, whose lives were intertwined. Eventually Wagner and Heather Locklear dated fro 2007-2011.

As previously reported, the new Melrose Place share that some of original neighbors and friends reunite after a death. The loglines add, “The pressure cooker of a reunion soon uncovers old traumas, rekindles old romances, reignites old resentments, and reveals new secrets… throwing our characters into chaotic drama that’s reminiscent of the past, but with a much more modern perspective.”

So, would you like to see Jack Wagner return as Dr. Peter Burns on Melrose Place, or Frisco Jones on GH, or both? Comment below.
