THIS WEEK: GH Nurses’ Ball 2020: What Will Go Down? Who Will Perform?

Courtesy/ABC

Even the coronavirus pandemic cannot stop the GH Nurses’ Ball!  The long-running ABC daytime drama series, who on any “normal’ year in our lives, would air these episodes in the spring, usually in May, is now going to air their staple event this week in August.

GH recently returned to production amid Covid-19, and now their annual songfest, and dramafest is about to be revealed for 2020.

In the promo for this week, looks like Nelle (Chloe Lanier) is on a mission that will collide with the ball, while Lucy (Lynn Herring)) as usual is in distress over the big event, and who knows what else might go down with Ava (Maura West), Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) and others?

Watch the teaser from ABC below, then let us know who you are hoping to see perform at the ball? And, what you hope happens to some of your favorite couples or Port Charles residents via the comment section below.

TPTB should tune in to the Nurse’s Ball from the 90’s. Those episodes were so well-done. I miss the 80’s & 90’s in Port Charles!

Budget budget budget budget! Did I mention budget? They just don’t have the budget to do it like they used to.

80s was the best…

I’m keeping my fingers crossed and hoping this year’s Nurses’ Ball will be exciting and well done. Good luck everyone!

Rodd…Great sentiments!

Please put this Nelle saga to rest. Give the girl a spot to lay her head and plant her feet—-it’s beginning to look like a rope-pulling contest going nowhere.
Make her Nina’s daughter and put this never-ending-story to bed, as well. I must be Nelle’s only fan—-plus, after all is said and done, Carly will always be the villainess to me.
The same can be said for Maxie and “et tu Brute”.( in more ways than one–eg: his hair. What is that? No rhyme or reason)—-soooo boring; so fruitless; so unproductive; so superfluous. This guy truly gets under my skin. Why is he on the show?
And, what is going on with Lizzie, Nikolas, Ava and Franco? Are TPTB playing with fire?–wife swapping? How tiring and commonplace!!
Well, I do hope ‘ye gods’ give this plot an original spin. I so wanted Nik and Ava to come together. They are so intense . A pefect prelude to an unforgettable explosion. Lizzie is not a match for Nikolas. She may be extremely pretty; yet, she lacks the come-hither, femme fatale persona. Nikolas is too sexy for his own good. I am anxiously waiting for the ice to break and voila’ !!–that first oh-so-hot kiss.between him and Ava.
Regardless, I love having the show back—-looking forward to the Nurses’ Ball and all its cloak-and-dagger offerings.

“Eek” , mouse run; oh, it’s just Lulu

I was floored, as she’s laying in to “brother” ( step I might add ) Nicholas, about his relationship w/Spencer. she has the audacity to throw: “what is more important than restoring my trust in you” even Laura would be miffed, grandiose

step aside little one… I do not wish this all on Dante

I agree with you ; @Nelle. ^^^^ “… Give the girl a spot to lay her head and plant her feet” Bam ! this is it ! because of her constant “mow over” every one knows the history… no one beats Carly. much to my chagrin… I will never let up on how old she’s getting… she finally had a spotlight tirade after the court hearings… and layed in to Nelle. but Nelle had her own two cents… and it was dramatic… “I never wanted this, I just wanted to share in my sons life” I really appreciated that. I don’t see the chemistry with Nina and Nelle… so be it. perhaps after the overdose on Michael and Willow lets up. ugh! Wiley this; Wiley that SURE MAKES ME MISS Lucas and Brad. what a 3-some

how come people don’t understand the one thing that Sonny and Carly do not have
not one person… seek either of them out ? what makes them so endearing ? no friends… hanger on Jason ? I hate the way Carly acts with him… smothering

I see the passion between Nicholas and Ava. I hope , the actor, playing Nicholas, takes a stand and MANS UP. this would entice Ava. her talk with Nina, about wanting to free up Nicholas , so he can have a relationship with spencer, is telling.. and it’s a let that Ava should give.. letting Nicholas and the audience know she’s more interested than just the estate.

Hey, Patrick….I won’t get into insipid Lulu–you said it all and well. I expected so much more. And, this new Brook Lynn with those witchy eyebrows and scrunched up face is perplexing—-looks either angry or pmsing.
Everyone is getting on my nerves except Ava , Nelle and Nikolas.
Michael is his boring self —I would die if I were married to his type.
Too bad Maxie is pregnant with Brute’s baby—will the child inherit that hair? Did you notice the malignant/satisfied smile on his face when embracing Maxie? This guy is an oxymoron personified. Can’t stand him!! Why, oh why would TPTB do this? Is he a permanent fixture now? Scary thought.
The best thing today was seein Mac…..for sure–wish Felicia were around, too.
As far as Spenser–how manipulative can one kid be? I guess it’s that tainted, damned Cassadine blood? The couple to watch; to anticipate heaven on earth is Ava and Nikolas—-combustible!!

Hi Celia!! 🙂
To give some drama and a total emotional fan bitch fest-
Maxie should have an abortion !!_______________
and-
Lulu– well, I’ve been thinking;
to send the Lulu character to your house to keep you company 24/7
but- I luvs yah too much to hurt you so badly ;)____________
Michael needs to get a brain tumour and turn him into a livid nasty villain charater. _______________
GH needs some dark crazy bad guys!
somebody to make our skin crawl_________________
GH (all) the soaps) are being written for nursing homes to keep the people calm.. like a viewing lobotomy thing lol

Oh Lordy!!!—, how much I’ve missed your comments, SusieQ—-Lulu and I would not hit it off—-I wonder what music she listens to—Lawrence Welk? None of the younger crowd acts young—-not even the teens—-
Nelle is obviously leaving—-there goes the entertainment. I really wanted her to stay, but not as a killer—-I shouldn’t have been surprised; but, I admire Chloe her absolute talent. The character never put me to sleep.
Even “the crazy bad guys” have turned into pussy cats. I thought new Nik would show some umph—he is a turn-on, in my opinion, but he’s also a puppet —-I am waiting for some action, which sadly won’t come until a vaccine is in place—-no touchy-feely. I heard TPTB may be using some tricks—-such as introducing real-life spouses as subs during love scenes.
We shall see.

I – really – like how fast they MOVED, Valentin

I didn’t think he had the 50 percent shares PLUS Lucy as tiebreak? As dastardly as they can? lets hope they let Valentin , perhaps actually get to know Ned why not forge an unlikely “ally”. get Ned back in the game…. sure would beat the boy scout routine with Michael. dag PUHLEASE for the love of GOOD ACTING

I don’t know, do the writers have it in them to give us a corporate intrigue espionage… outside of mob sting bite and upchuck.

as for Jason being in hosp… lots of speculation on FB soap scoop. Jason is Monica boy Jason QUARTERMAINIA !!!! hear THAT; People… course i have to lament and not put all my eggs in one basket… LOL. because posts have shared that they do not think @GH writers have it in them to do this. God.. i’m all for it just to get him out of the clutches of Sonny and Carly. WOAH takers?

Who’ the dead man walking? Drew?

Most likely Taggart. His “death” in the hospital was obviously suspicious. Nobody actually saw him die, so a lot of us suspected it was a fake death all along. Made fairly obvious by Jordan suddenly having this mystery burner phone with an unseen person calling her frequently. Curtis answered the phone today, so apparently Taggart didn’t think that was a safe way to communicate anymore, so he took his chances and met Jordan in person… probably assuming that most of Port Charles would be focused on the Nurses Ball, so he wouldn’t be seen.

Now the only question is how many people are in on the secret that Taggart isn’t really dead. Epiphany might have been in on it. Jordan, obviously, but not Curtis. I doubt Taggart would trust Jason & Sonny given all their history, even though they were on the same side against Cyrus the Virus.

It would be pretty cruel for Taggart to let his kid and her mother believe he was dead, and Trina was the last person who supposedly saw him in the hospital….. but if they knew, they sure put on a convincing acting job with the fake grief.

As far as Drew goes, he’s obviously not really dead either. But I’m guessing he’s either lost his memory yet again and/or is being held prisoner somewhere on the other side of the planet. He might well turn up, should Robert Scorpio investigate the leads given to him by Spinelli today, about Whiny Heiny’s involvement in the original kidnapping of Drew for the brain mapping experiment, back in 2012.

Everything you said makes perfect sense—-Davy suspects it’s Taggart , as well. I suppose revealing his “undead” condition would hinder any investigation concerning Cyrus—–whom, may I add, is on a short leash—will be gone soon enough.
I also think Drew is somewhere out there—-perhaps in oblivion ?—until a replacement is considered —-and some kind of far-fetched plot.

It would be great if it was Drew, but its probably Trina’s father. I can’t even remember his name. That’s how much I missed him.

maybe Sean but i dont care anymore…im almost done with soaps and even thinking leaving social media altogether!

No, Jimmy….don’t do that. Post once in a while—-everything has changed due to the virus. And, even after a vaccine is in effect, I doubt we will ever recapture our personal norm.
Chances are, given what a germaphobe I am, I will be wearing masks for the rest of my life. LOL.
Good to see you here, my friend.

i cant take the masks too long…cause me heart problems-im not well(not Covid)
…im posting a little here for now

I just watched the first episode of the NURSES “Ball” telethon. In my opinion that was the worst episode I can remember. I know covid probably changed things but, it was horrible! If you can’t do something right, don’t do it at aĺl.

Agreed, Davy—I guess my expectations were too high. What a let-down!! Even with Covid, there could have been some entertainmthe cast is interacting….so, what’s the problem? Money? Maybe, today? Not over yet.
Hmmmm, Trina’s father. Never thought of him. That’s how much I missed him, too. LOL.

I am finding the Ball extremely boring but I must say that Carly and Nina looked very pretty, unlike when in character, Carly snarkey and obnoxious and Nina constantly squinting and frowning, like she’s in pain does take away from their natural looks.
Speaking of looks, I recently watched an at-home video with Maura West and couldn’t believe my eyes. She looked at least ten years younger than when she’s playing Ava with all the makeup. You can tell they are trying to work the COVD into the script in this Ball thing without saying anything explicit. If I hear the words first responders one more time, I’ll scream! I’ve got too many complaints so I’ll quit while Iam ahead. God, how many more days of this?

Lane Davies Joins the Cast of General Hospital Setting up a ‘Santa Barbara’ Reunion with Nancy Lee Grahn

Some very intriguing casting news out of General Hospital. The ABC daytime drama has cast former Santa Barbara favorite, Lane Davies (ex-Mason Capwell), in the role of Fergus Byrne, an attorney who crosses paths with Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn).

According to TV Insider, Davies will make debut the week of May 22nd.  As soap fans know, together with the aforementioned Grahn, they created the Santa Barbara supercouple of Mason and Julia Wainwright. Davies portrayed Mason Capwell family from 1984 through 1989.

Interestingly enough, this isn’t the first time in Port Charles for Lane. From 2002-2004 he played Dr. Cameron Lewis and also shared on-screen story with Grahn.  At that time Davies, played Xander Smith’s father.

GH fans are wondering about the last name of Davies new character, “Byrne”. If you recall, Alexis got herself involved with therapist Dr. Neil Byrne, who died when Harmony broke into Alexis‘ house and killed Neil by injecting him with opioids.

Taking to her Instagram, Grahn shared her excitement at the upcoming on-screen reunion with Davies, “It never gets old. We do 😂…. but it doesn’t 😍. Lookin’ forward to another romp.”

So, what do you think about Lane Davies returning to GH to play an attorney in Alexis’ orbit? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Nikolas Gets an Earful from Ava About Sonny and His Meds; Nina and Drew Can’t Seem to Resist Each Other

Ava (Maura West) seems to feel she has a confidante in a jailed Nikolas (Adam Huss) on the Monday, April 29th episode of General Hospital. In story, Ava heads to Pentonville to visit her ex-husband before he is set to get transferred out of state.

When discussing her living relationship with Sonny (Maurice Benard), which Nikolas already knew about, Ava says she is happy about how her relationship with Sonny has been evolving, Nikolas ask if she’s in love with Sonny. Ava denies it, but goes on to say how great it is for her daughter, Avery to be living with both her parents, who are on the same side and not at odds.

Nikolas believes that Ava loves being in Sonny’s inner sanctum and the power that comes with it. Ava fires back that she spent years looking in from the outside and that everyone despised her. When Nikolas brings up Nina (Cynthia Watros), she says Nina never really could understand the true type of man that Sonny is.

Then, Ava launches in on Carly (Laura Wright), and how she would love to stick it to her, for all the times she blocked Ava from seeing her child and Carly’s attitude towards her. Then, Ava admits to Nikolas that she knows that Sonny has a watered-down version of his bipolar medication, which is making him more vulnerable and she’s capitalizing on it for her own gain. She says she needs to figure out who is responsible, but Nikolas voices concern for Ava’s plan and that if Sonny ever found out she knew about it and did nothing, he would be on the warpath against her. Ava promises she knows what she’s doing. When she says goodbye to Nikolas, he looks upset and sad, as he still seemingly cares for Ava.

Meanwhile in Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) office, Nina walks in complaining about Carly giving her a hard time about maintenance in her office. Nina wants payback for Jason (Steve Burton) buying Carly the hotel, but Drew is not up for playing games with her.  She says they both want revenge on Jason and Carly, which Drew denies. Next thing you know, Nina grabs Drew and kisses him. Although, it seems he might walk out the door and away from her, he locks it, and the two proceed to have round 2 of their hate-sex.

Elsewhere, Anna tells Jason about her shooting Charlotte and her concern about Valentin’s (James Patrick Stuart) involvement with Pikeman. Meanwhile, Valentin visits Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure) in Pentonville, where threats are laid out to make Sonny look like the guilty party in eliminating Jason, while Anna is the line of fire, if she doesn’t keep her nose out of Pikeman business, which worries Valentin, who doesn’t want Anna getting hurt in any of this.

So, what do you think about Ava’s plans? Did you like seeing Nikolas back on the canvas? Are you all for a Drew/Nina continued affair? Will Anna get caught in the crossfire only to be saved by Valentin? Share your thoughts and theories via the comment section below.

Haley Pullos Receives 90-Day Jail Sentence Following DUI Charge And Wrong-Way Car Crash

Former General Hospital actress, Haley Pullos (ex-Molly Lansing-Davis) is going to be doing time in jail, exactly one-year after her arrest from a hit and run wrong-way car collision.

The crash resulted in bodily harm and damages to the other driver, and now Pullos who pleaded “no contest” to the charges and will serve 90 days in jail. She was taken in custody on Monday, April 29th, after the ruling.

According to Haley’s attorney, Mark Daniel Melnick, the 25-year-old actress struck a plea deal and after her three months in jail will be sentenced on July 29th. As part of that sentencing, she must serve five years probation, 200 hours of community service and pay $8,260 in restitution to Courteney Wilder, the other driver in the crash and her driver’s license is revoked for a year.

According to TMZ, the plea deal for Pullos has the “no contest” to one DUI, while the judge dropped the felony DUI causing bodily injury and misdemeanor hit and run charges.

Melnick said in a statement to PEOPLE, “Haley is very grateful to the court for a minimum sentence and for recognizing her remorse and the strides she has made in her sobriety.”

Pullos had played the daughter of Alexis Davis (played by Nancy Lee Grahn) on the ABC soap opera since 2009, but after her car crash and DUI she was replaced by three different actresses until the show finally settled on the current Molly, Kristen Vaganos.

Back in April 29 of 2023, and at the scene of the crash, the police found edibles and mini-bottles of tequila in Pullos’ vehicle and that she was intoxicated. As it turned out, this was to be the second hit and run in the evening for Pullos who had an earlier collision with another car.

The courts decision follows a year-long legal battle with Haley’s pleas changing throughout it, ranging from “not guilty” to “no contest”. She sought treatment for her drinking at a rehab following the crash.

Nancy Lee Grahn, who portrayed Pullos’ on-screen mom took to X on Monday night, April 29th and shared on the sentence and the specific jail, Haley will be serving time: “As Haley’s TV mom I can tell some truths about her as I’ve loved her since she was little girl. She made a HUGE mistake, knows it, owns it & has spent the last yr doing EVERYTHING imaginable to take responsibility 4 it. It’s not that I oppose jail. It’s that I oppose this jail.” The jail in question by Grahn is the L.A. county jail.

So, what do you think about Haley Pullos serving a 90-days jail sentence, and the other rulings that will be part of her sentencing? Comment below.
