Sherri Shepherd Returns to ‘The View’ in Tribute Episode For Co-Creator, Bill Geddie

Photo: ABC

On Monday, The View aired a heartfelt tribute episode to the talk show’s original co-creator, Bill Geddie. Last week, Geddie died due to complications from coronary issues at 68.  He, along with Barbara Walters, created the morning show that has been a staple on a daytime.  Geddie was the EP for over 17 seasons.

Whoopi Goldberg welcomed back for the episode, former co-host Sherri Shepherd, who now hosts her own syndicated daytime talk show, Sherri.

During her appearance, Shepherd related: “He (Geddie) absolutely changed my life because back in 2007, when he asked me to come on, I was a single mother, just divorced, a stand-up comic, didn’t know a thing about politics and somehow he believed that people would relate to me, and I think it was the first week, I sat here and he fought for me to be here.  I had no experience on a talk show.”

Shepherd recalled on her first week of airshow, “Didn’t I say I didn’t know if the earth was round or flat? It was then, Sherri wanted to go back on and tell everyone she knew the answer. However, Geddie said, “No! This is ratings, baby!”  From there, she recalled running into his office every time she flubbed up and wanting to go on-air and apologize. Geddie told her, “Sherri, if we apologize for everything this would be called The Apology Show. It’s called The View.

She fondly added that Geddie as her mentor and expressed: “He was just a champion for me, and he was a friend, and he helped me find my voice.”

Goldberg, Ana Navarro, and Sunny Hostin also shared their sentiments.  nfortunately, Joy Behar is off on Mondays and could not be a part of the episode.

The View is satanic

No. It most definitely is not!

I have no involvement in that show whatsoever. It doesn’t even air in Hell.

They really shouldn’t be using your name in vain, Satan.

Yeah… nobody did that more than Pat Robertson. But now that he’s doing “The 666 club” down here in Hell, he’s had to drop that from the talking points.

LOL!! Well I’m in purgatowy anyway

Barbra did work as a bunny at Hugh’s mansion a few evening… are you certain you weren’t there for one of them?

Oh “Hef” & I definitely go way back, but I don’t ever recall Barbara being there. Nor can I picture her dressed as a “bunny”, for that matter.

An evening in 1962… was the one who complained about the outfit being too tight… she didn’t last long.. but at least never spilled a drink on a customer…

GH’s Amanda Setton Previews Brook Lynn & Chase’s Wedding: “It’s a Really Satisfying Payoff for the Fans”

This week, Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase (Josh Swickard) are set to tie the knot on all-new episodes of General Hospital.

The duo has seen some rocky times between the two of them, but above all else, will it be love conquers all for the good-guy cop and the tell-it-like-is Quartermaine heiress?

Amanda Setton weighed-in on what GH viewers can expect as the nuptials begin to air over several days. “A quintessential, big, long, detailed, beautiful, elaborate soap opera wedding. It really feels like a throwback to the good old days,” shared Amanda with Soap Opera Digest.

Photo: ABC

Setton added on how Brook Lynn is feeling heading into her wedding day, “She’s getting her fairytale for now. I mean, we’ll see what happens … it is Port Charles after all. But I think it’s a really satisfying payoff for the fans of Chase and Brook Lynn. It’s been a very slow build for four and a half years and they are finally going to get a really loving, beautiful, elaborate, deep vows wedding moment, watching these two characters finally come together.”

Photo: ABC

“The Bensonhurst Brigade” does descend on the wedding in the form of Grandpa Carmine Cerullo, Grandma Gloria Cerullo and nephew, Gio, who will be introduced at the wedding played by GH newcomer Giovanni Mazza.

Will a good time eventually be had by all, even though from this week’s GH promo everything appears to go kablooey? Stay tuned.

Are you rooting for Brook Lynn and Chase to make it official and say their “I do’s”? Comment below.
