Kimberly McCullough Tapped to Direct Live-Action Movie ‘Wayward Girls’

Photo: DGA

General Hospital fan favorite Kimberly McCullough (Robin Scorpio Drake) has been attached as the director of the upcoming live-action movie Wayward Girls from Nancy Kanter’s revived Available Light Productions entity.

Kanter, who had much success in a three-year deal with Netflix creating kids programming, has now relaunched her company to go further into the YA and adult demo with her new projects in development.

Before Netflix, Kanter was at Disney for 20 years as its VP, Content and Creative Strategy for Disney Channels Worldwide. It was there that one of the series under her auspices was that of High School Musical: The Series, which McCullough directed.

According to Deadline, the “Live-action movie Wayward Girls is a coming-of-age dramedy with an original screenplay by Kristin Belka Maier (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia).”

McCullough’s credits over the years have included directorial nods on several series including: The Bold Type, One Day at at Time, Pretty Little Liars, The Conners, Fuller House, Fantasy Island, Roswell, New Mexico and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, to name but a few.

Happy for all of Kimberly’s success as a director? Would you want to see her come back to GH for a short visit somewhere down the line? Comment below.

Congratulations to Kimberly. Having watched her grow up on GH, I still can’t believe she’s a big time director now. Onward and upward!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HELL YES! PLEASE bring Robin back!!

I agree with Eric ervole hell yeah please bring her back GH hasn’t been the same since Kimberly McCullough left

Yes iwould love it if she came back.

Fabulous. I would love to see Kimberly return to GH between her directing gigs. However my absolute dream, fantasy would be for Kimberly to direct episodes on GH. Something like the Nurses Ball.

Hell yeah please bring Kimberly McCullough back GH at been the same since she left

I’m very happy her move to directing i working out for her so I’d be contented with Emma being brought back on the canvas (when there is a storyline for her) and have Kimberly show up occasionally if she’d like to do so if it would make sense for her to make a guest appearance in an episode with Emma, Anna and Robert.

I would love to see her come back with Jason. That would be epic.

No you do realize she wanted to be a director she is a bossy bitch in GH and all of you were disgusting about JT. Would not let him have a love interest it was disgusting . You literally attacked that actress who tried to play his love interest ! No wonder he left to go to y&r

If you mean Cinderbrina, she was just a horrible character. Bad with Patrick. Worse with Michael. Intolerable with Carrrrrrllllllos.

Probably the worst ReRon character, with the possible exception of the one who survived a recast and has sucked all life out of the show for the last two years.

But that stops as of Monday… hopefully.

Yep I said it can’t stand her stay awat

Yes bring back Robin back

Interesting…cant make a distinction between Kimberly and Robin? I love the fact that Kimberly has made her own way as director. The selfish side of me misses Robin, her entire family, and her relationships with her parents. I would love her returning to the show briefly, and perhaps bringing Emma for a longer (maybe permanent) stay in Port Charles. Anna needs some family. GH does a terrible job with older women and love. Look at Anna & Alexis! I assume that hubby is not available since he has a leading role in another soap

I’m hoping that Jason’s return (and maybe even the NuJagger character) is reason for Robin to pay a visit to Port Charles in the near future, even if it’s a short stay.

It’s always great to see Robin back on General Hospital I am a 65-year-old woman who has been watching General Hospital since I was 10 years old. Still watching it every day love the show and all the cast.

GH’s Amanda Setton Previews Brook Lynn & Chase’s Wedding: “It’s a Really Satisfying Payoff for the Fans”

This week, Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase (Josh Swickard) are set to tie the knot on all-new episodes of General Hospital.

The duo has seen some rocky times between the two of them, but above all else, will it be love conquers all for the good-guy cop and the tell-it-like-is Quartermaine heiress?

Amanda Setton weighed-in on what GH viewers can expect as the nuptials begin to air over several days. “A quintessential, big, long, detailed, beautiful, elaborate soap opera wedding. It really feels like a throwback to the good old days,” shared Amanda with Soap Opera Digest.

Setton added on how Brook Lynn is feeling heading into her wedding day, “She’s getting her fairytale for now. I mean, we’ll see what happens … it is Port Charles after all. But I think it’s a really satisfying payoff for the fans of Chase and Brook Lynn. It’s been a very slow build for four and a half years and they are finally going to get a really loving, beautiful, elaborate, deep vows wedding moment, watching these two characters finally come together.”

“The Bensonhurst Brigade” does descend on the wedding in the form of Grandpa Carmine Cerullo, Grandma Gloria Cerullo and nephew, Gio, who will be introduced at the wedding played by GH newcomer Giovanni Mazza.

Will a good time eventually be had by all, even though from this week’s GH promo everything appears to go kablooey? Stay tuned.

Are you rooting for Brook Lynn and Chase to make it official and say their “I do’s”? Comment below.

Next, Sonny is heard saying,  Know what I do to traitors?” as he side eyes Dex (Evan Hofer)! Eventually a voice says, “He lost a lot of blood. Let’s get him to trauma one.” The end of the promo features a stunned Chase looking at Brook Lynn.
