GENERAL HOSPITAL: Is This It? Is Fluke Really Bill Eckert?

Courtesy/ABC

Courtesy/ABC

General Hospital kicked the mystery of the identity of the evil Fluke this week into high gear by laying the groundwork that Fluke could actually be Luke’s (Tony Geary) lookalike cousin, the believed-to-be-dead Bill Eckert! Even Luke asked Fluke if he is really Bill Eckert!

The story picked up steam with Barbara Jean (Bobbie) Spencer (Jackie Zeman) had a run-in with Fluke, and Fluke has become unglued and unnerved by both her and Luke talking about Bill Eckert!

On Friday’s episode, Bobbie had to relive some of her difficult childhood memories by going back to the Spencer home where she and Luke grew up, and that is where Luke is being held in the basement by Fluke! Bobbie even mentioned to Michael (Chad Duell) that her and Luke had a sister named “Patricia”!

There was also the mention this week about Jenny Eckert, Ned’s  (Wally Kurth) ex-wife who is the executor of Bill’s estate, who Michael got in touch with.  Michael wants to turn the old house of Bobbie and Luke’s into the AJ Quartermaine clinic!  At the end of Friday’s episode, Fluke uses a baseball bat to illustrate to Luke how he wants to crack Bobbie’s head with it! Luke his horrified as Fluke seems to becoming unraveled!

After the jump, watch a moment from this week’s GH, when Luke asks Fluke if he is indeed Bill Eckert? Then weigh-in! Do you think this is it now… is Fluke going to be officially revealed to be Bill Eckert? Or, do you think this is another red herring, and Fluke is someone else? Comment below!

I’m SO over this storyline, I understand why it was dragged out, but enough already. Oh, and I don’t think Fluke is Bill Eckert. I’m just ready to see (real) Luke back with Tracey.

I also want the ‘real’ strong and smart Tracy to return…not the dumbdown one we’ve seen since this ‘now-grown-older-than-me’ storline begun!!!

Exactly. I would love to see Tracey become the ‘Supreme’ Q (if you will), once again. Waiting, waiting, waiting…come on Tracey!

I think GH just ran out of ideas as to who FLUKE was so they are now making him Bill.
This storyline has gone nowhere and you mean to tell me that BILL is in charge of Helena, Faison & Jerry ??? come on … this is GH writing as they go along and as much as I love Tony Geary and would love to watch him 24/7, I’d rather see him in a great romance or something and NOT with Tracy btw.

I have a theory that Fluke is the presumed-dead TIM Spencer, Luke, Bobbie and off-screen sister Pat’s father!

I have watched GH for nearly 40 years. This is the worst I have seen it. The stroy lines are not good and they are dragging on and on and on and on and on.. They aren’t even good ones. I was tired of the whole Luke thing a long time ago. Also the Jason thing.. I don’t like the story line and again it is dragging on and on and on and on.. Please move forward and get some more interesting story lines. I missed the last 2 1/2 weeks I taped them and can’t even get through watching the episodes I missed… I am not sure I will continue watching at all.

Give it time it ‘s getting interesting

NO…Fluke is really Patricia,Luke’s sister…she was always insanely jealous of Luke…Luke won many awards and much praise as an outstanding athlete when he joined the boys little league baseball team Port Chuckie Cheeses…Patricia wanted to join the same team but couldnt because she was a girl…an unsympathetic Luke told her its a mans world…Pat wanted revenge…with the help of Lukes enemy, Helene Cassidine, Pat had a sex change to become a man and a Lukealike, and told Helene she will help her destroy Luke as payment…she would help Helene also get hold of ELQ which would be the Cassidines cover for all their evil doings…to fool Tracy, and to complete the transformation, Fluke went online and found a specialty dr. who specializes in transplants of certain male parts and performed the operation…now Pat as Fluke was able to fool Tracy that Fluke was ‘all man’…LOL…STUPID!…STUPID!…STUPID!…i know but if this show is going to run amok and become ‘Camp Lazy Crazy’, then i say go all the way…LOL

Why not? If they can wear masks and look like someone else, why not a sex change.

Totally possible! ….in CARtoonville!

you said it perfectly : “camp, LAZY, crazy”

the fallout has already happened…. it’s all about AG performance… and the end result… that he and Tracy re-unite

alls right with the world

the ONE thing that’s holding me at bay

that Helena… strongholds and has her mind control intact
and plays with Nikolas and Jason… and they never find out… what two effervescent strongwilled men to parlay an audience feast

they are completely unaware, and with abandon… share endorphin satiate

I agree with Jim H. The Theory of NSC saying that it is really Tim, Luke and Bobbie’s father – is an interesting idea also. But before seeing that Theory – the thought popped into my head that Fluke is really the long-lost sister, Patricia (that for 50 years of GH – we never heard one word about – for real GH Writers and Producers?) Patricia had a sex-change operation and made her new “male” face look exactly like her brother’s – who she hates! Don’t laugh too loud – GH has been known to do even dumber things!

I am of four minds on where this might go. The obvious answer that Fluke is Bill. The possible twist route, where Bill had a unknown twin brother and Fluke is that brother. The most bizarre direction where we find out Fluke is Luke’s sister Patricia, who isn’t dead, had a surgery and a sex change operation to look like Luke for reasons yet to be revealed. Or finally there still a chance that Fluke is Luke who went crazy and the Luke we see, is merely a figment of his ( Fluke’s) imagination and on Monday’ show we see Michael finding Fluke talking to an empty chair.

Mary I do not keep up with this show like you do and the rest but what I have noticed is has anybody ever seen the two Lukes together like when he has been supposedly at the sanitarium now the basement? I am inclined to believe RC is taking a page out of the Stephen King novel “The Dark Half” that would be much more interesting.

I jokingly said Fluke is Patricia yesterday to CeeCee and today right above yours and some of us once discussed how Fluke is really Luke brainwashed by Helene and how he, as Fluke, is unaware there was never was an imposter but whoever he is the well has run dry on this storyline and it needs to end soon, and hopefully not at the nurses ball like i jokingly once said…lol

Hey, jimh…I am beginning to think YOU are Fluke…you just know too much family history…LOL.

Kay, love your idea the best. I would love to see that Fluke is an externalization of his darker self.
Luke has always been rather dualistic. He was first introduced to us as Frank Smith’s henchman, and he raped Port Charles town sweetheart, Laura Spencer. Later they turned Luke into a cartoon-like superhero who saved Port Charles from the big Cassadine freeze out.
Tony Geary didn’t like how Luke suddenly became a one dimensional good guy and he always resented how Bill Eckert left the canvas. I can’t say for sure whether Fluke is an alter of Luke’s, if he’s Bill Eckert, or if he’s Patricia Spencer (or maybe both of the latter two possibilities). The only thing I can ascertain is that Fluke will be some kind of conciliatory/love note to Tony Geary before he retires. Fluke is akin the gold watch given to the retiree at the retirement party.

I am not sure, think that was to throw us off. Johnny more or less stated he had a mask or his face redone. Whoever it is seems to have more power even than Helena after watching there conversation on Friday.

Well if it is In fact bill I am sorely dissapointed. What a let down after all this time.

It needs to be Bill because enough is enough already. TPTB think that drawing out reveals are interesting. What is interesting, in the hands of good writers, is getting a reveal in a proper amount of time, letting the audience in and then telling a story that delves into characters and motivations. Keeping people guessing and throwing out mixed signals and prolonging reveals, does not create suspense, it creates annoyance and IMO is done in the absence of having to write an intricate and engaging story for the audience.

Ahh yes I have always believed telling a good soap story is a bit like making love. You have to have the right amount of foreplay– not too much or too little, build up to a great climax, thereby leaving one and all deeply satisfied . But lousy soap writing like lousy lovers leave you feeling frustrated and wishing it was over with because you got better things to do with your time– LOL.

Oooooo, Mary….juicyyyy! Now, we see your true self coming out….I like it…LOL.
Well, I do not know the back story of this Bill Eckert. And, I too, am tired of this never-ending storyline. But, although in bad taste….that’s moi…..I found yesterday’s basement scene between Luke and Fluke so ridiculously funny….you know? Fluke swinging the bat this way and that, pretending to be smashing Bobbi’s head?…..and the intense pailful, shocked look on Luke’s face? IMO, that scene was remarkable….mahhhhvelous . (Kids, don’t try this at home)

CeeCee…I’ve found a lot of Cartini’s storylines to be ridiculously funny….especially those when their intentions were clearly not that! Believe you me, I have LMAO’d my way through many scenes that I’m sure they thought were just the most heart-rending, emotionally dramatic moments ever captured on a soap soundstage… when they were in actuality just over-the-top camp and poorly-acted camp, at that! (Not that I would ever put TG’s efforts in that category….the man’s talent can make the most of any material he is handed! But having said that, I am definitely “Fluke-weary”….yet not “Geary-weary.”)

I so agree with you GH50…it was ok in the beginning and now it has grown tiresome…i still enjoy some moments of this show but i hate knowing it could be so much better and it could be if stories like this werent dragged out…its like tptb really dont have an ending and are just guessing and then when an ending seems near they suddenly decide its not good enough and extend it…i love British soaps…the dead stay dead…storylines are character driven and rarely drag…more realistic and down to earth, and still pure escapism…i dont see any reason why our soaps cant be more like them!!!

I like that the dead don’t stay dead, jimh! Talk about thr ultimate escapism! There are characters that are so sorely missed…I love when I hear a fav of mine is coming back! Was thrilled when AJ did for instance…only to lose him again. Now THAT sucked! But I think that’s part of what separates the daytime soap genre…anything’s possible/everything goes.

I dont mind the Fluke story carrying on because I love Anthony G. and you can tell he is having fun. HOWEVER, in the end, if the story doesnt payoff, I will have regretted losing two years of my life!

it’s more… FLuke and Luke showmanship

OK.. we both know it’s what it is

the same actor

I hope it’s Helena that gets the last word… and as posted above… she isn’t caught… and she does in fact have that mind control escapade moving… and we are whetted… to a Nickolas and Jason extravaganza… which is endorphin shoot

surprise surprise

another red herring

Wish Anthony Geary had stayed on his Amsterdam vacation a little longer.

Why? That would mean this story would be dragged out even MORE. I’m glad Tony is back because it means that hopefully by February Sweeps this story will be done and over with. I thought from the beginning it was Bill, and while I didn’t watch GH back in the 90’s, was Bill ever this evil? From what I’ve heard about him, he wasn’t. Maybe it’s Bill’s son, Sly, who got plastic surgery and wants to avenge his father’s death? That was my other theory.

I like the whole Luke is brainwashed angle, that Helena manipulated Luke’s mind into believing he is an imposter trying to ruin his own life; it’s interesting and hasa Stephen King-esque vibe to it. but what connection does Helena have to the mob? Why would she be behind trying to take down Sonny? Also, the Fluke/Luke scenes at Miscavige and the Spencer basement don’t seem to be dreams or imaginations, so I don’t think this story would work.

Don’t know, don’t care. I just want him to GO AWAY … and at this point, he can take Luke with him. I’ve never been so sick of a storyline on GH.

Halloween mask stories are for children.

Said this from day one!! Im surprised Levi wasnt Sly…

What if Sly turns out to be Fluke, who took the face of his father, Bill, and wants to avenge his death? I think that would be an interesting twist and a good use of the show’s history. My problem with Fluke turning out to be Bill is that the writers would be bringing yet ANOTHER character back from the dead to facilitate a story, and it’s too obvious because the whole doppelganger plot device has been done before with these two characters.

Tony Geary and Jackie Zeman== it is awesome to have them on my screen..
I love how RC has gone back in history right down to their childhood home..
(FV and RC are nostalgic guys 🙂

This story is at its’ end and Tony has given a performance of his life BRAVO!!!
The acting and the writing has been superior! ! A great legacy for Tony..

I’m looking forward for the next stories to come; Jake/Jason with Helena..
and= to see how all will get out of prison..
the new Sloane and what he will bring seems exciting.
And what will happen with Luke ..

And finally Bobbi/Jackie has finally been given some good scenes besides the almost silly, throw-away Scott/lLucy/Bobbi triangle to show how good an actress she can be. It was really creepy and moving to see her reaction to visiting the old house for the first time.

i must amid Jackie’s talent as an actress really came through. She was great. ….very believable.

Amen Rose! Lucy can be written off as far as I’m concerned!

kudos to all who post

Jackie Zeman… over the years… and from the start

performance untoward… unrelenting … came through

I hear her voice and i’m immediately transfixed to GH of ole’

My guess: Luke and Bobbie’s sister Patricia had a sex change operation and she is now Fluke. Does anyone know: had we ever heard of Patricia before now? Why is she being talked about now? This has now gotten very strange. Time to wrap it up.

Yesterday, i said to poster CeeCee that Fluke was really Patricia…some of us once discussed Fluke is really Luke drugged by Helene and only imagines talking to Luke when no one is really there…now i just want it to end…enD…eND…END!!!…LOL

Patricia was mentioned a few times over the years mostly dating back to the 1970s. She never appeared on screen but was talked about. And it’s not a sex change story line…

I was KIND OF kidding about the sex change; nothing would surprise me. You sound pretty sure it’s not a sex change storyline, soooo, what’s your theory?

Maybe Patricia really was born a man but crossed dressed up until he was twenty. Then he stopped cross dressing during his teens and subsequently fathered Sly. Remember during the Nurse’s Ball Luke did a number from La Cage La Aux Follies called “I Am What I Am?”
Okay, I sound ridiculous and crazy but that is what Ron has driven me to which I think was his plan all along–to torture his viewers with his Riddle me This Fluke story.

Or perhaps “Patricia” was a “Mighty Hermaphrodite,” hence “Fluke” was already halfway there….no extra, additional parts required?????

Good episode on Friday, but I want this FLUKE story to end!

lol lucky you!
it is at the end.. (soon as Michael gets into the basement..

Ah, Su…will Fluke get to use that bat? LOL.

CeeCee..
yha! he will go down swinging!!

just suprised that weenie Michael will be the hero??

I have my doubts about St. Michael. I don’t think he will go down there. He won’t be the hero; but, everything is possible…..
I can’t see him running a company, running bath water, least of all wear a cape, with the letter H printed on it….nah. But wait; Aesop’s fable comes to mind….THE LION &THE MOUSE……so, we shall see….later, girl.

intelligent people run this sight

LOL

“the lion and the mouse”

GH production have done everything… to propel Chad Duell

it’s not working

he should have left before Kristen Alderson

it’s a high 5 all around for fans

Michael will bore Fluke into insanity!

I like Michael…a lot…and should he actually go down those steps I have no doubt he can take down Fluke. He killed Claudia, he killed the hired killer who was sent to kill him…and he was trained by Jason how to fight. Michaels got a lot of pent up rage…and when it’s brought to the surface he’s deadly. Great, complex character…sensitive boy, conflicted man. Go get him, Michael!

It’s a red herring. My hunch is that Fluke is Patricia….

Thats what i said yesterday, and yesterday is when i wish this story had ended…

Yes, the Pat rumor has been floating around for awhile now.
All I can think of is that SNL skit called,”It’s Pat!” One could never determine whether Pat as a male or female.
Bill Eckert could be Pat. I dunno–not sure if I care anymore.

“Its Pat!”

And…what about Laura…she’s still MIA in Paris? is she still at that doctor’s appointment??? there’s been no mention of Laura ever since, really. and, where is grandma Leslie? It would be nice to bring her back, too, for Spencer’s sake. So wait…doesn’t Laura ever call Lulu anymore? and was her character aware Luke was missing, too? Where’s our LAURA?!?!

lol
who cares, really who cares..

(not me)

This begs the retort, speak for yourself, Sue. I care and so do a whole lot of viewers. Laura was before your time so you do not get that while she is part of Luke’s past, she is also part of who he is today.
These stories are begging for the return of Laura. She is missed by the tried and true GH fans which you really don’t seem to part of despite your impersonation of a GH cheerleader on steroids.

Laura got caught up in Obamacare! She will be back in about two years!

HaHa…that’s rich, Timmm.

Good one, Timmm!….In that scenario, Laura actually NEVER even made it to Paris…on the contrary, she was darn fortunate to get bus fare to Bellevue, where she is still waiting in line whilst they attempt to access her electronic patient file!!!

Thank you, Harry….Although I am not necessarily one who desires a present-day Luke and Laura coupling, I certainly respect and revere the place their romance holds in the history of GH, and there will always be a part of me that would love to see them ultimately reunited when the time comes to bid farewell to the legendary Luke Spencer. Moreover, I’ve long been appalled and disheartened at the mistreatment of the character of Laura (and her portrayer, Genie Francis….) throughout the years….especially the last travesty that had her return to Port Charles with great fanfare, only to marry that loser Scotty, then be unceremoniously dumped by both the idiot who pursued and obsessed over her for the last 30+years, as well as the current regime. Having said that, you are so spot on when you note that today’s storylines scream out for the presence of Laura, not to mention Scorpio, Lucky, Ethan, Holly, etc. Had any of these individuals been treading the Port Charles soil, Fluke’s grand charade would have lasted for about a New York minute instead of this miscreant repeatedly getting one over on the clueless likes of Lulu, Tracy, Anna and even his so-called “sister,” Bobbie!!!

Thanks for your support, Harry and Shay.

And thank you, Shay and Jeremy.
I don’t think I was clear. I don’t want a Luke and Laura reunion. I really do believe that in their case there are no second acts. I want Laura to be part of the Fluke/Luke story for the sake of character history. It’s great that they are trying to pay fidelity to history by involving Bobbi in the story. I wish they would follow through by bringing Laura into the situation.
I just feel Luke and Laura have some unresolved issues which need to be resolved before the move on. Plus, I really adore Laura so there’s that.

You are most welcome, Jeremy…I always enjoying reading your comments!

@ Shay – I enjoy reading your posts, as well. 🙂 We share some very similar viewpoints on some of our beloved GH characters.
@ Shay & Harry – I too, am in agreement, if Laura were to return, I’m not interested in Laura & Luke reuniting. Those days are gone.
I would love to see Laura collect Lucky in Ireland…and, they come home to Port Charles upon the release of the real-Luke. Is Jacob Young still at B&B? (I don’t follow that soap)…otherwise, David Tom could possibly make a great Lucky?

@Harry….You are so right when you say that L&L have unfinished business, even not if as a couple, then as friends, parents, family….and the palpable chemistry that AG and GF demonstrate whenever they have one of their too few-and-far-between scenes just proves that! It also shows that despite the fact that Geary is vehemently against any sort of reunion, not to mention that he and Francis seemingly have very little in common in real life, they are both consummate professionals that always rise to the occasion when the opportunity presents itself for them to meet up and make their magic. Just based upon their glorious GH history, Laura needs to be part of this latest Luke Spencer saga….it really makes no sense that the woman who knows him best has been seen neither hide nor hair for this entire storyline. (Same goes for JJ, who will always be Lucky for me….I know he’s busy with Nashville, but given he is employed by a program on the same network that owns GH, I cannot for the life of me understand how a meaningful cameo could not be arranged for him.) Lastly, while I am over any illusion that L&L will have that fabled happy ending, I still cannot fathom the Spencer-Quartermaine pairing….it has simply never worked for me….nearly any other female—save for Felicia—from Luke’s romantic past was better than Tracy….Holly, Anna, Skye. But I simply can’t overcome the notion that the supposed current love of Luke has yet to notice that Fluke has failed to call her “Spanky” for how long now???? The “Angel” would never overlook such an egregious omission! (Nor would “English” or probably even “Flame,” for that matter!)

Jeremy…It’s always fun to welcome another GH-er to the MFSoaps party…especially when it’s someone like yourself who obviously enjoys and reveres the historical aspects of the show. I look forward to sharing our views, whether they are of agreement or not, in the future!!! Thanks for responding….

Shay…without dating myself too much here, Another World was my favorite soap opera when I was a kid, and back then, I also watched Days and GH. After the cancellation of my beloved AW, I’ve followed Days and GH off and on over the years, to the present day.

Jeremy….I never was very absorbed in Another World….(I grew up with GH and some other now-defunct soaps…in fact, I sampled most all of them at some point, except for “Guiding Light”…..) although I watched a few of the final episodes, and knew of the various cast members, but that’s the extent to my familiarity with the show. However, I must admit that I always admired “Felicia Gallant”….what an utterly magnificent character! Linda Dano played the style maven to the hilt, and her fabulous detail to fashion puts modern-day soap divas to shame. I would love to see her reappear on daytime. I could actually envision her as a new, improved Tracy Quartermaine…après Fluke/Luke, of course…since she would bring some fresh panache and couture-quality class to the role. I was once a big Jane Elliot fan when her Q-family heiress was more madcap and wildly witchy, but over these last few years she has become rather bitter, blah and predictable. I’m sure a recast will never happen, but it’s just a thought……

Fluke is Helena’s clone of a clone of a clone of a clone….

Let the force be with you.

So, are you saying Helena is really a man? She hides IT well.

CeeCee,

H-o-n-e-y…I look at it like this: Helena is S-O old, S-O ancient-looking and EVEN MORE C-R-E-E-P-Y!!!!! Y-I-K-E-S!!!!!

Later, CeeCee. Peace.

I thought she was just happy to see Luke.

OMG, Harry. How do you come up with these things?…..’happy to see Luke’. You’re not just funny! You’re smart funny….if that even makes any sense. You got my husband going, too.

Enough already. I have been a GH fan since 1966 and I can honestly say this is the most dragged out, ridiculous storyline ever. Carlivati needs to give it a rest. Let’s get the Jason/Sam/Liz/Rick/Carly storyline on the front burner.

PLEASE!!!!!!!

Actually– the story is no longer that usual/normal ..
Tony was absent for 6 months, so just seems longer..
I love the story.. It hold my attention, every minute of it..
Tony is giving a superb performance, I enjoy watching him AWESOME!!

I am so sick of this Fluke story and it has gone on so long that I can hardly remember how and why it started. I do remember one thing though and that is way, way, back, Fluke was supposed to be after Sonny. It was all about getting back at Sonny and no one else. Spencer had overheard Luke and Julian and it was about getting back at Sonny. Since then, this storyline has changed about who and what it is after. Too many other characters have been laced into it also (Gerry, Faison, Helena). GH goes too far in trying to keep a storyline going for Tony Geary. Please end it now!!!!!!

I could not agree MORE

Time for the Fluke storyline to get wrapped-up and bring home the real Luke.

It’s probably Bill and well, whatever. No real impact because no one he’s connected to is even on the show anymore and the history is so far in the past. Even if it’s somehow the previously unmentioned sister, Patricia, again – no impact as we’ve never heard of her before. Although the Nina story was dead in the water, at least we got months and months of Nina mentions before she showed up. And if it is Pat, really show, didn’t Tracey and Luke have sex at several points … surgeries are pretty great but even Tracey, as dumbly as she’s being written, would notice that “Luke’s” equipment is not real. I mean, really.

I’m with everyone else, just end this story. It’s unfortunate but the momentum from last spring was just cruelly stopped when Geary had his back problems. That would have been the time to cut and run. Now, it’s just.. it’s just.. unbearable and tiresome.

What’s happened to this show the past few months? It was on fire and now it’s labored and tired. Bizarre. Never in 40+ years of watching soaps have I seen a show go downhill so fast as GH has these past few months (with the exception of course of the AJ murder reveal… )

It would be too easy for it to be Bill Eckert. Whatever the reveal is will likely tie in to Patricia. And Patricia should launch a new storyline.

If Fluke turns out to be Bill Eckert and Bill Eckert turns out to be Patricia and Traci finds out she will inevitably say,”No wonder I was suddenly getting so much foreplay.”

LOL!! good one.

what if Helena is really Patty in a Helena mask working with good ‘ol Billy E….*gasp*

I do not know if this has been said but my theory is that Fluke is Bill and somehow Bill found out he and Luke are actual twin brothers and Patricia gave birth to them when she was maybe 13 or 14 because she was sexually assaulted by one of her father’s friends or he allowed his boss to rape his little girl. My theory after it happen the bus were separated and Patricia eventually left home under the nightmare experience.

Oh my goodness. You should write for the soaps!

Well at least that theory is based in some human experience that actually could happen—it could have some emotional overtones and really explore the damage child abuse has on a human soul—but I wonder can RC be that subtle. Will he give this story some heart or just go for the over the top story that is rooted more in Saturday morning cartoons than real life? I really hope you theory pans out, I would be interested in that story over say, Fluke being Luke’s sister or another brainwashed lackey of Helene’s.

There is still a small chance it could be ANTHONY Zacchara, why would he get JOHNNY out of jail? JOHNNY don’t know Bill Eckert!

it is fun, the way RC and team has us guessing..
It will Bill but RC will have a shocker or not.. so maybe not Bill..
but fun not to know
who… ??????
(great writing)

theres so much deceit in this web…

all I care about is that johnny Zachara and Carlos are paved way

Remember they created this SL to keep Tony on the show. Remember he was gone for 6 months and had to keep the story going. After being back full time since late November the story will end soon. Psst it’s sweeps starting now.

I’m disappointed in you. I always look for you for good, reliable information. Don’t be taken in by the Bill Eckert theory. It’s a red herring…it’s too easy and they are not going to do a reveal like this after having us wait for almost a year for resolution. The scene with Johnny and Fluke pretty much disproved any Bill Eckert theory.

I’m sorry I disappointed you, Shelly.
Wait? To whom are you speaking?

Shelly, Micahael dint say it was Bill Eckert , he posed the question to open up discussion. This isn’t a spoiler’S site. He doesn’t give us the answers…

I am leaning toward Helena brainwashing Luke and the “real Luke” is Luke trying to counter the brainwashing. If they make fluke Patricia then it would totally destroy the Tracey character. Are u honestly telling me that Tracey wouldn’t notice the extensive surgery to make Patricia a man.? The bill reveal has to be a red herring because no one cares about bill eckert.. A final option may be a ripoff of oltl Todd/victor jr. Storyline and there is a brother Luke never knew..

I don’t know where it’s going, but I for one am enjoying the storyline. It’s given Tony Geary something meaty to play, and he’s been knocking it out of the park, as he always does. It’s given Jackie Zeman something of substance to do, and that’s never a bad thing. It brought the tremendous Hugo Napier back as Lord Larry Ashton, and he was a riot. It’s revisiting a lot of old GH history, bringing The Eckert Family back to the forefront, a least in name only at this point.

Great acting, a story with many unexpected twists and turns that keeps you guessing, what’s not to like?

I do agree that the length of the story hasn’t been ideal, but that was necessary due to Tony Geary’s surgery and time off. They could have wrapped up the story before Geary left, but they chose to keep it going, and I have no problem with that. I respect the opinion of those that haven’t liked it, but for me, I’m been enjoying the hell out of the storyline, and I’m intrigued to see where it goes next.

Totally agree and sense you put it in better words then I can ,I’ll leave it That.

Dan, I couldnt agree with you more. I would take Tony and Jackie on screen anyday, everyday, dragging out Fluke’s story as opposed to painlessly watching Nathan and Maxie, blah, blah, blah!

@dan

really nice press

to this day… when Bobbi and “Luke” are onscreen… it’s golden

it’s a commemorate and feast for days of ole
and it’s with so much canvas support that AG is able

god… it’s daresay… oblivion and shout out that they reel

Anthony Geary
Jackie Zemon

I have to say I’m a little surprised to see how many people just want this story over already. I thought it was just me.

I understand the story being delayed due to TG’s health problems and TG is doing a fine job with the dual role but Ron Carlivati’s mentality seems to be “well, we made you wait this long so we’ll reward fans by making them wait even longer with silly plot twists!” Bad choice.

There’s really no good end or payoff for this story. Bill Ekhart seemed obvious from the start so that reveal would be a let down.

The DID stuff has been done to death and doesn’t really work here. Didn’t Julian claim he met Fluke in prison and Fluke offered him the mob deal as a way to get out? Did real Luke manage to get himself locked up to get to Julian while also alive and well in Port Charles? I may be misremembering that and Julian was actually in the witness protection program but that’s stupid as well. I mean, witness protection isn’t exactly a social club where people meet up and exchange stories of why they’re there. And as others have also pointed out, Luke/Fluke have both been in scenes with a 3rd party who saw both together.

And please, please don’t tell me even RC could be tasteless enough to write an idiotic, campy story like Luke’s sister going thru the ordeal of gender re-assignment just to get revenge on someone. I won’t go thru the many reasons why that’s offensive but it would be particularly offensive in light of a young teen who recently committed suicide because her parents couldn’t accept that the teen felt trapped in the wrong sex body wouldn’t allow them to transition. Are we to think Luke’s sister would just change back once she got her revenge?

All that leaves as yet another long lost twin for either Luke or Bill Ekhart and, well, who cares?

The biggest problem here is all these roads lead nowhere aside from an emmy bait material for Tony Geary. I can’t see any long term fallout from this dragged out story which, regardless of how well TG acts it, makes for bad soap.

LOL
I can not believe anybody would believe that Patricia could be Luke..
Patricia being Luke was a joke said in jest not to be taken seriously by anyone with a working brain… a sense of humor was needed lol..
for anybody to take is seriously well, there is something not right with them lol ..

KM….You made many valid and well-reasoned points, however, the one place you totally lost me was when you questioned whether RC could be tasteless enough to pursue the notion of Fluke being a trans-whatchamacallit. HELLO? Have we been watching the same show???? Based upon numerous previous offerings, being tasteless has certainly never before been a precluding factor for Cartini’s particular form of dramatic storytelling.

In a sick twisted thought….Patricia was “raped” by father., her child is the freak fluke….with Helena ‘ s help he mind controlled to hate everything Luke , reminiscent of a CARtoon SL from OLTL. (The 2 Todds).

there were also 2 Tad’s and many other 2’s ..

Bobbie said they lived on elm street. MAYBE FLUKE IS FREDDY KRUEGER LOL LOL HA HA

Not bad, John…LOL

I think “Fluke”, is Patricia who has transgendered. I think the reason Bobbie and Luke lost touch with her is shame. I think Patrica had an affair with Cousin Bil, the result being Sly. I know Bill was married, but I think Bill’s wife was Sly’s step mother. When Patricia found out that Bill had been know killed, I think she “became”, “Bill” to relieve some of the pain of losing “the love of her life. From my point of view, PFLule was so upset with Bobbie when she talked about Bill beating Sly is, that SHe couldn’t accept that her lover, Bill would beat their child Sly, the way that the Spencer children were beaten by Tim Spenser. Also, I think PFLuke, is back to take revenge on everyone who wronged Bill.

I’m sooooooooo glad that I record my soaps just so I can fast forward thru the stuck on stupid senses as Fluk, Nuke or Luke and the never dying Helena. I hope GH will get some new writers. I know that there were more people in Port Charles who knew about Luke’s look alike cousins other than Bobbie, Sonny, Anna and Tracy. What about Carly, Lulu? Please end this story line soon!!!!!! Thank Goodness for (Remote Control)…

I was kind of hoping for a twist on “Fight Club” where Luke and Fluke are the same person, no brainwashing per Helena. Just Luke turning into a Fluke on his own volition. Now, that would be kick – ass.

@harry.
Harry, you never disappoint….neither do your comments. I always brace myself before I read them…..I do remember the asexual SNL ‘Pat’. Tres extraordinaire, is what you are, sir!

he brings so much heart

I don’t know who it is but I hope they don’t drag this out until February sweeps.
I hope that it’s Anthony Zacchara. I am starting to hear his name a lot.

Bill Ekert, he is not. Too easy since it is becoming obvious? I thought maybe Fluke would be Patricia BUT Fluke sleeps with Tracy UNLESS he/she is wearing mask below the belt! Ah ha! Either way, I feel some freshness to the story and MAYBE coming to fruition in February? I am so happy to see Bobbi front and center. It was cool to see her and Michael hanging out at her old house. The ONLY thing I will nit pick at is why no Bill Eckert flashbacks? With all the talk of the old character, why no old footage? I’m sure it exists.

I have been saying from day one it’s Bill Eckert and I hope my theory is right. I didn’t watch GH that closely when Eckert was on but a little homework helped me put together some pieces of the puzzle on his motives:

1. He is after Sonny’s terrartory because Frank Smith killed him (he thought he was Luke) and Sonny now owns Smith’s terratory. I think Bill is on a power trip to own all the mob of PC so he will be invincible.

2. Early on we found out he now owns Barrett Industries-first thought of course, many think of Brenda but most forget her sister Julia, who Bill dated. She dumped him so maybe getting her family company is his twisted revenge.

3. And since he “died” because of Luke it makes sense for his hatred of Luke and the Spencer family.

4. In the conversation with Bobbie, it was made clear that Bill had a violent streak, even sometimes to his own son, Sly. Who’s to say that nearly dying and being hidden all these years didn’t turn Bill completely psychotic and this is why he wants so much power and revenge on so many?

I think it is Bill Eckert finally because of how defensive he got with Bobbie-why would he care less unless it was him? And when Luke guessed it was him if you looked closely you could see he was nervous a bit that Luke had figured him out perhaps?

That’s my theory. Jenny

which is a coupdetat for REAL Luke… that he figured first… and Bill Eggert would have to respond to his knowing

and it’s all fallout

this has been leap to… Anthony Geary carry call

it’s such a welcome respite from his former self… feeding off of Carly and Tracy

nothing extraordinare : just a feature of his body of work

I don’t know about it being a coup d’état, Patrick, but it was a very weak coup, of sorts……I tried studying Fluke’s face for any signs of , “how did he guess?”….. But, he was impassive.
The only ticks and irks I saw in Fluke was his combustible conversation with Bobbi. He was very defensive of Bill Eckert ….sooooo, I cannot make heads or tails about this entire travesty…fiasco.

I think FLUKE is really Luke and Bobbie’s sister Patricia who left home at an early age and had a sex change operation.

I don’t thing that Fluke is Bill Eckert, I think it is Sly Eckert taking revenge on Luke for his father being killed instead of Luke.

Luke…Fluke…Bill Eckert. GH…ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!

I know, right, jaybird? It does not seem to come to an end at all. This storyline has taken root …on and on and on to the other side of forevermore. Now that the ‘new commissioner’ holds the reins, the only logical conclusion is that both he and the mayor are in Luke’s and Helena’s pocket.
Now, I am beginning to suspect that Nikolas is playing cat and mouse with his grandmother. I think he is on the ball…knows something is awry and is acting the mighty Cassadine, for her benefit.
The same Jean de la Fontaine’s quote applies to him, as well.
“It is a double pleasure to deceive the deceiver”…..one of the most infamous and true words ever written, and one of my favorites. I’ve dealt with a few “deceivers”…..

Thanks, CeeCee!!!!! You know…at this point, whenever Luke/Fluke pops up on my TV screen, I just hit the Mute button on my TV/DVR remote control and watch GH with the sound off…LOL!!!!! And…while I’m watching with the sound OFF, I think to myself, “Hey, GH…wake me whenever that RUGGEDLY DREAMY Julian is on. Thank You!!!!!” Luke/Fluke=B-E-Y-O-N-D B-L-A-H!!!!!

Later, CeeCee. Peace.

ENOUGH!!!! I don’t care what they find for Luke to do – just get him out of that basement let him take a bath and find something for him to do besides be 2 people- I’m too sick of it all to even wonder what the H is going on anymore. PLEASE LET THE MADNESS STOP!

I think fluke is frank smith and he is using bill eckerts name as an alias in case somebody figures out hes not plus his men killed bill eckert thinking he was luke that could be why so sensative to the subject of bill eckert

Helena too intimidated by Fluke. How bout supposedly dead Mikos

I want the real Luke back. Get on with this storyline, please!!!! Don’t much like Luke with
Tracey, their romantic scenes gross me out, lol.

I read the comments and the writers at General Hospital should hire some of these commenters to write for General Hospital. I would TOTALLY watch this soap opera every day because it would be funny and thought-provoking…I laughed outloud because some of the comments are so funny and when someone brought up about it really being Luke-The dark side, it started to make sense…So, thank you all for these comments and I am going to start reading this BLOG every day because it is alot more entertaining than the soap!

What about Damien Smith it is now 1/30/15 on todays episode there was a corpse in the chair were fluke had luke the corpse is bill Eckert put there by Helena and the real luke got moved to another place by Helena while dante was sleeping on the floor when he woke he really saw bills corpse from 20 years ago that explains dill not being in the coffin when shawn and Jordan dug it up and damien smith died in a fire apparently he either died and his body was recovered and he was revived or he faked his death to make people think he was dead and he got extreme plastic surgery and fluke is sooooo interested in killing luke and sonny’s family members luke killed frank smith this could be taking down sonny that’s his reason for being in the mob and his hatred for luke is his reason for trapping luke for months

(INTERVIEW) William deVry Talks on His Roles in Hallmark’s ‘A Whitewater Romance’, New Film ‘Pocket of Hope’ and His Time on the Soaps

For soap favorite, William deVry life-after-daytime has been reinvigorating, filled with new projects and new directions. This Saturday, May 11th he can be seen in the latest rom-com from Hallmark, A Whitewater Romance (8pm ET/PT) starring Cindy Busby as Maya and Ben Hollingsworth as Matt who play intense business rivals, and featuring Will as Jim Burdett, set against the backdrop of the outdoors and Canada.

In addition, Wil has been busy prepping other projects in which he is executive producing and starring including: Colt & McQueen and Christmas in Bordeaux, and producing and starring in a very dramatic departure for deVry, as the lead in the new true-life story feature film, Pocket of Hope.

Michael Fairman TV chatted with Wil to get the lowdown on his latest and upcoming roles, his expanding career aspirations, and to get his reflections on his three main soap roles: Julian Jerome on General Hospital, Storm Logan on The Bold and the Beautiful and Michael Cambias on All My Children. Read on for what deVry has been up to of late and his reflections of the past.

In A Whitewater Romance, you play the character of Jim Burdett, tell me about him?

WIL: My character runs this whitewater rafting company and the deal is that there’s a corporate retreat that is organized at my company. Jim is sort of old school. He’s been running the company for quite a lot of years. Jim’s not social media savvy. In the story, Maya and Matt get there, and they end up obviously enjoying themselves at this corporate bonding retreat. They discover that Jim was going to close down the company. He stayed open specifically to accommodate this corporate retreat. And then, of course, Cindy Busby’s character, and Ben Hollingsworth character do this little online thing for Jim and get business booming. Before he knows it, the entire summer is booked with clients and they basically saved his company. It’s a feel-good movie with beautiful, stunning locations.

And, are you a good guy in this?

WIL: It’s almost like, wait!  Will is playing good guy? It’s funny because our director, Jason Bourque knows I’ve been playing bad guys for so long. Even the Christmas movie that I did with Terry Hatcher, Christmas at the Chalet, I went through such an arc. My character was so focused in his business and kind of unhappy because he was living his life for other people, and you don’t really realize that you might be slightly unhappy because you don’t take time to do inventory for yourself. In A Whitewater Romance, Jason had this idea that I was this really kind of ‘happy-go-lucky’ guy. And by the second day of shooting, he goes, “I think maybe Jim is a former military …” We both laughed because it was a subtle joke, because you know, I can be a little bit serious.

How was it to work with Ben and Cindy?

WIL: Great. Cindy being a lead, they set an example for everybody. Cindy is so low key and very friendly, and basically the trailer door is open if you want to discuss anything. Ben was also a producer on this. He might have had a little more stress on him than just sort of acting. But honestly, you couldn’t tell. Both of them had a good sense of humor. I would work with either one of them in a heartbeat again.

You have some exciting news to share; as you are about to be the lead in a new film?

WIL: Yes, I’m the lead in a new film called Pocket of Hope. It’s based on the true story of Chad Gaines, and I am playing Chad. It’s a beautiful movie. It’s in the present day with Chad talking with his daughter. He’s always been reluctant to share his past with her, and because there was a lot of trauma involved, he didn’t really want to put her through that. She’s no longer a young lady and so he feels now is the time to share that. There are a lot of strong flashbacks in the movie. It goes back between the past and the present, which I think is really engaging. The budget is well over a million dollars. We start filming at the end of May in Los Angeles, and then we will go on location in August to shoot the remaining scenes.

How do you feel about tackling a dramatic role such as this with tough subject matter?

WIL: It’s a heavy-duty role. There’s a lot of responsibility. I’ve prepared my whole life for these kinds of roles. It’s really exciting to play a true life individual, who has a story to tell. I think it’s a great honor for me and for the director/producer David Kohner Zuckerman, as well. David is wanting to do Chad’s story justice. We’ve got a good team for this. Robert Altman Jr’s, Cora Atlman, is playing my daughter. When you find a troupe that you like to work with and you can collaborate with, you stick together. So, we have David, as I mentioned and also Deran Sarafian, who is consulting on the project. Deran and I have been working on my other project together, Colt & McQueen. We are the luckiest people in the business right now to be working with Deran. He has had a lot of successful pilots that he’s done for Fox, ABC, and NBC and also Marvel and Netflix shows. He was also a producer on House for Fox.

Photo: Willdevry

In Colt & McQueen, you play a former LAPD detective, right?

WIL: Correct. He was basically dishonorably discharged for something that he didn’t do. He is going be trying to clear his name of any wrongdoings. However, in order to make a living, he sort of does these unsanctioned assignments for the captain of the LAPD, who is also on his way out. He’s a good guy. Kin Shriner (Scott, GH) is in it and he kind of plays a man of the streets who goes by “The Professor.” Rebecca Staab (Elizabeth, Port Charles, et al) is in it, and she plays the character with the code name “Leather Jacket” within the LAPD system. We go into production on it in July.

You’re doing your own projects now. That must be liberating in some ways and harder in others.

WIL: I just said, “Look, if I’m going to stay in this business, I have to have some control over my career now as opposed to just auditioning blindly.” That can be a frustrating process. I am learning a lot because I’ve never produced before or executive produced, but the effort is there, and the will to do so is there.

Photo: RStaabIG

Speaking of projects, you have another one you are working on, a romantic comedy called Christmas in Bordeaux. What is the theme of that one?

WIL: It’s a tale of family traditions, renewed passions, for love and life and spiritual and cultural awakenings. Finding value in the time we have left. And of course, a happy ending for all involved.

As an actor, when you finally get to the point where you get to act you probably really enjoy that. It’s just the challenges of all the things it takes to get there that can be daunting for a performer.

WIL: As an actor, you have to be so good and so comfortable and embrace the rejection. The rejection has to feed you. It can’t defeat you. However, I kind of do take everything personally. If a casting director doesn’t want to bring me in for something that’s their prerogative. I don’t really get angry about it, but I take it personally because I kind of feel like, they should bring me. I can’t just sit back and accept my fate based on other people’s ideas of what I’m capable of or not capable of. Sometimes my resume is a benefit, and sometimes it’s a detriment. It’s up to me to change the narrative.

Photo: JPI

What would you want to say to the GH fans who had been so supportive of you through the years?

WIL: It blows me away how loyal they are, and their passion. I want them to be of aware that. I’m excited to work for myself, and if that doesn’t work out, I am very comfortable going on to do something else with my life. Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis, GH) and I had talked about it at one point, and how she absolutely loves the business. I have other things that interest me and move me. I hope every single fan of Julian Jerome comes along on this journey with me.

Photo: JPI

Looking back, do you think your best role on the soaps was Michael Cambias on All My Children?

WIL: I think with Michael Cambias that All My Children destroyed the character. I sat down with the executive producer at the time, Jean Dadario Burke, and she said, “You’ll be here as long as you want. We did a focus group and you’ve got a 96% approval rating. That’s through the roof.” Two days later, I was called back into her office as they had fired the head writer. I was told Megan McTavish was coming back and they were going to make my character irredeemable, which as everybody knows, Michael Cambias went on to do horrible things to Erica Kane’s (Susan Lucci) family and then he was off the show.

Photo: JPI

Then, you went on to portray Storm Logan on The Bold and the Beautiful and the heartbreaking suicide storyline which saved Katie’s (Heather Tom) life, but cost Storm his.

WIL: Storm had a lot of potential. When you’re going through such a beautiful, heart-wrenching, horrific story like that, I wanted to give the audience a lot of credit. Soaps have a smart audience. I wanted them to go on the journey with me. I didn’t want to ruin it for them by playing the problem. I didn’t want to create the drama before it was time to pay the price, if you know what I mean. I allowed it to play out on-screen without any foreshadowing. I think that’s why it worked and that’s why it broke everybody’s heart, and I think that’s why it won a Daytime Emmy for Best Drama Series. Brad Bell (executive producer and head writer, B&B) trusted me with a vehicle that ended up being the Ferrari for that year. I’m eternally grateful to him.

Photo: JPI

Do you ever check out General Hospital nowadays to see how your old castmates are doing and what is happening in Port Charles?

WIL:  I like to check in. I like to see what Kin Shriner (Scott) is up to, and I like to see who’s showing up and who’s going. I like to see Maura West (Ava) who is such a terrific actress and who played my on-screen sister. We had such a good working relationship and I hope she is on the show forever.  I was happy with my eight years on the show. I knew for 18 months it was time for me to leave. I knew in my heart the character was done. Frank Valentini (executive producer, GH) was thrilled with how I left the show. Those six and a half years on General Hospital were a lot of fun. I really loved going to work.

So, will you be watching William deVry in ‘A Whitewater Romance’ this weekend on Hallmark? What do you think about his upcoming projects and roles? Miss him on daytime? Comment below.

GH’s Kin Shriner Remembers Jackie Zeman on the One-Year Anniversary of Her Passing

Today on May 9th, marked the one-year anniversary of the death of Jackie Zeman, who for 45 years played the iconic nurse Bobbie Spencer on General Hospital.

Jackie passed away at 70-years-old from cancer and leaves behind her two daughters, Cassidy and Lacey, and all of her enduring fans, and of course. her GH co-stars and dear friends.

Perhaps, her dearest friend was Jackie’s longtime co-star Kin Shriner (Scott) where for years they shared stories on-screen as Bobbie and Scott, and off-screen developed and cultivated an unbreakable bond.

Photo: ABC

Michael Fairman TV spoke exclusively to Kin Shriner to get his thoughts and his memories of Jackie on what is for him and many, a sad and heartbreaking day.

Kin expressed: “It does not seem like a year. I think of Jackie every day and every day. I am approached often as an ambassador to the old days. Every day somebody talks about the heyday of General Hospital bringing up Bobby, Scotty, Luke, and Laura. And it always saddens me because I know that Jackie would still want to know that the fans still love that period of time and we miss her, and I miss that. I don’t get to come in and have a scene with her again, ever. So, it’s all sad and I can’t believe that it’s a year.

When asked what does he think Jackie’s legacy is, now reflecting on her passing a year later, Kin shared, “Her legacy is that It she changed daytime television in the seventies. She was the catalyst that came into General Hospital and created Bobbie Spencer from the wrong side of the tracks, the fiery firecracker woman that she was.”

Photo: ABC

Shriner added on their deep connection, “Jackie brought it all to the screen and she brought it to real life. She raised two great kids, and was a spitfire of a woman and someone that I enjoyed being around from the day we met to the day she died, I was in her life, and she was in my life. We went through a lot together, you know, ups and downs, and it’s just sad that she’s not here anymore.”

Share your thoughts to Kin’s words on the loss of Jackie Zeman via the comment section below, and also your thoughts that is has already been a year since we lost this daytime icon.

Coming up, make sure to watch Kin and many other stars from the soaps on the Michael Fairman Channel’s very special livestream event Daytime Stands Up  in conjunction with The Locher Room and Stand Up To Cancer on Thursday May 16th from 8 pm ET/5 pm PT.
