According to the network, B&B for the week ending January 3rd 2016, averaged 4.22 million viewers for the ratings period.  That is its best showing since back in February of 2007.

One of the best episodes of the final week of the year was B&B’s New Year’s Eve episode, which focused on long-running series cast members Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke) and John McCook (Eric).

B&B was strong in the key demos for the week as well with 1.6/08 in women 25-54, its best delivery in the demographic since the week ending June 19, 2015 , and 1.0/06 in women 18-49, its best delivery in the demographic since the week ending November, 13, 2015.

was not overly surprised. daytime always rates high during New Years week with people off for the holidays

OK-
give me some room, I have something very important to say;

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! to MIchael Fairman !!

lots of luv ! hope your birthday wish comes true!!

(done, carry on!

I can’t think why, the show is terrible at the moment. It used to be my favourite TV show until Liam arrived and every episode now revolves around his latest triangles!

Steffy, liam wyatt and ivy dominated that week that is why the ratings were so high.

I wish they were interesting. The shadow cast on Steffy for being in wrong place at wrong time is a good one but, ugh!, the endless triangles and quadrangles. Soap staples but there seems to be a lack of takes on the proceedings. No new secrets, no romance, just talk talk talk and bed-hopping and quickie marriages to be annulled. I want more. That said, I have liked the addition of Ivy. The show needs a likable outsider, and she has more spunk that Hope did as she was written.

Brooke was back on screen…along with Bill, Katie, Eric and Quinn. It is obvious the viewers want to see these characters and yet they were absent for much of 2015. The ratings say it all! Congrats to B&B … and I hope they continue to feature the favorite characters of Brooke, Bill, Katie, Eric, Quinn (and Deacon) and go lighter on all of the new-gen players that just aren’t connecting with the audience. 🙂

The ratings were from Brooke, Bill and Katie. Steffy, Liam and Wyatt are boring and tiresome. None of them have a single redeeming quality. The transgender nonsense drug out for so long and is still in play with Nicole as the surrogate. The only break we have had from Steffy, Liam, Wyatt, and Ivy, as well as the boring and overdone transgender story and the Avant family, is in fact, Brooke/Bill/Katie.

Steffy, Liam, Ivy and Wyatt dominate week after week with the Avants taking up the rest of the screen time. Seeing Bill acting more like himself will be a breath of fresh air. I’d even welcome Katie as the screeching, hypocritical shrew to having to see another week of the same old dreck that has been put out there for several months now. How nice it has been without Ridge and Caroline plotting on how to keep Thomas from finding out the truth, how nice to not have to see Thomas scheming on how to get his cousin into bed.

And how soooo refreshing it would be to not have to see another person fall victim to Steffy’s uncontrollable temper and sense of entitlement. The most ridiculous of it all was having Liam fall and end up flying to Australia. And Steffy wasn’t even there for that.

The one and only change after several months of the same old dreck was in fact Brooke, Bill and Katie.

Wow! Just WOW!!! Go B&B and CBS daytime.

Clearly it was the scenes with Brill, that was the only major difference. All the other characters have been on for months and they didn’t bring it. But out the amazing KKL and DD int the same room, instant chemistry and raising. So bring on Brill, they have been missed!

Katie and Bill were great

I don’t for a second believe that the ratings had anything to do with Brill or Batie or anything of that nature thats for damn sure especially as that week when B&B had those ratings they had the Liam/Steffy/Wyatt/Ivy storyline on. I think it was a mix of the fact that the ratings have been on the rise again lately & it was over the new year, however it could also just be that some viewers are getting reinvested in that storyline

Since Brooke, Katie and Bill’s previous story bombed in ratings, and Brooke’s drinking story bombed, I have to go with the Steffy-Ivy climax and New Year’s Eve week with people being home as to why the ratings went up. I can’t imagine tons more viewers tuning in just to see Eric coddling poor lonely Brooke again or the clearly ruined Katie and Bill coupling after Brooke poisoned it. Even Steffy haters were tuning in full force to watch Steffy get blamed again for Ivy going down the stairs and Liam’s reaction to it while Steffy fans were tuning in to watch to make sure it wasn’t Steffy’s fault. Add to that people loving the fact that Ivy got dumped, the triangle while being carried on too long already, was the main reason viewership went up that week. People on both sides wanted to see the what happened to Steffy-Ivy and Wyatt-Liam.

You really need to check your ratings claims , Brooke, Bill and Brill brought up the ratings from 2012 (when Ronn Moss/Ridge left and freed up Brooke and ratings actually ROSE) until KKL left for Italy in mid-2014. When KKL returned in 2015 the show was a mess and the Brooke the drunk SL came out of left field. The show was bleeding viewers since that time and I was one of them! I came back for Brooke and Bill at Christmas …. so may B&B continue to feature the core and established and popular characters in 2016!

I totally disagree. The op is right, Brooke and Bill were horrible for ratings and that was proven time and time again on many boards. Brooke yet again bombed ratings with the 15 minute booze bit. The show had become a mess because people were sick of the Hope/Liam/Steffy Wyatt merrygoround and a bad recast of Ridge paired with Katie then Caroline…Jaq Woods leaving also put the show in a big tailspin. Ratings started back up when Steffy came back to town but sadly Brad went back to another tired triangle. It was clear just from scanning all of the major boards that the huge interest that week was both sides wanting to see the Ivy Steffy confrontation and Liams reaction along with Wyatt finding out. Brooke and Bill come in close to Deacon Brooke as one of the most vile pairings ever juat judging from even proBrooke boards.

I absolutely agree that it was what was going on with those characters it was finally pay off time for that storyline after months of no pay offs. People can argue that Brill that may or may not have bought the ratings up when they did that triangle but what I do know is they got there high ratings from running Maya’s storyline & to Brill & Batie don’t even compare to the ratings they got than when they did that that social story vs that triangle and these ratings are in that number. As well as it being new years week that was a big reason as well.

I hate this storyline with Brooke, Katie and Bill.. If he can’t control his self for Katie and their baby he should go away. The sisters clearly love each other and I hate to see Katie get hurt again with the macho man . If they put Brooke and Bill back together again I quit. I’m sick of it

I have no doubt it was KKL and DD as Brill that brought the ratings up they are the only two characters that are newly introduced into play with a revamped s/l during this time period.Go Brill

Well, I hope that B & B enjoyed their high year-end ratings. Here comes, yet another year of triangles with Liam and Bill ! Enough !!!!! The best storyline of 2015 was Maya’s being transgender. A storyline with substance. The writers need to realize that this is NOT the 1950’s. Gone are the days of bored housewives watching. We want storylines that matter in today’s world.

The ongoing relationship between Bill and Brooke is overkill and tiring! Please end it now!

Why have the writers created this reckless storyline for Liam????? He has a TBI following a fall (however, he seemed to have suffered a mini stroke from the shock of seeing Steffy with his brother 2 weeks ago)! This is too crazy! Why hasn’t he received medical attention? No you all put him in the possession of crazy Quinn?? Why has no one looked for him??? Those stupid texts shouldn’t fool anyone! So Crazy Quinn is controlling Liam—— Nuts! Just to allow time for her chubby son to start a “real”affair with Steffy??? Stupid!!! I’m turning off my recorder till Summer, when this stupid storyline is over! Please end it. Now don’t go and mess up Y & R or I will not be able to watch any soaps.

Haley Pullos Receives 90-Day Jail Sentence Following DUI Charge And Wrong-Way Car Crash

Former General Hospital actress, Haley Pullos (ex-Molly Lansing-Davis) is going to be doing time in jail, exactly one-year after her arrest from a hit and run wrong-way car collision.

The crash resulted in bodily harm and damages to the other driver, and now Pullos who pleaded “no contest” to the charges and will serve 90 days in jail. She was taken in custody on Monday, April 29th, after the ruling.

According to Haley’s attorney, Mark Daniel Melnick, the 25-year-old actress struck a plea deal and after her three months in jail will be sentenced on July 29th. As part of that sentencing, she must serve five years probation, 200 hours of community service and pay $8,260 in restitution to Courteney Wilder, the other driver in the crash and her driver’s license is revoked for a year.

According to TMZ, the plea deal for Pullos has the “no contest” to one DUI, while the judge dropped the felony DUI causing bodily injury and misdemeanor hit and run charges.

Melnick said in a statement to PEOPLE, “Haley is very grateful to the court for a minimum sentence and for recognizing her remorse and the strides she has made in her sobriety.”

Pullos had played the daughter of Alexis Davis (played by Nancy Lee Grahn) on the ABC soap opera since 2009, but after her car crash and DUI she was replaced by three different actresses until the show finally settled on the current Molly, Kristen Vaganos.

Back in April 29 of 2023, and at the scene of the crash, the police found edibles and mini-bottles of tequila in Pullos’ vehicle and that she was intoxicated. As it turned out, this was to be the second hit and run in the evening for Pullos who had an earlier collision with another car.

The courts decision follows a year-long legal battle with Haley’s pleas changing throughout it, ranging from “not guilty” to “no contest”. She sought treatment for her drinking at a rehab following the crash.

Nancy Lee Grahn, who portrayed Pullos’ on-screen mom took to X on Monday night, April 29th and shared on the sentence and the specific jail, Haley will be serving time: “As Haley’s TV mom I can tell some truths about her as I’ve loved her since she was little girl. She made a HUGE mistake, knows it, owns it & has spent the last yr doing EVERYTHING imaginable to take responsibility 4 it. It’s not that I oppose jail. It’s that I oppose this jail.” The jail in question by Grahn is the L.A. county jail.

So, what do you think about Haley Pullos serving a 90-days jail sentence, and the other rulings that will be part of her sentencing? Comment below.

Kimberlin Brown Back to The Bold and the Beautiful

As expected, although viewers didn’t know exactly when it would be revealed, on today’s April 29th episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, Sheila Carter is found alive and well.

Finn (Tanner Novlan) and Deacon (Sean Kanan) make the discovering that Sheila didn’t actually die; and that it was her plastic surgery makeover lookalike, Sugar, that met her maker. That means, Sheila’s portrayer, Kimberlin Brown, is back on the show and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) killed Sugar in self-defense, not Sheila.

Speaking on what was a shocking return for her, Brown chatted with Deadline about her getting the opportunity to resurrect Sheila one more time and with a new contract to boot.

Photo: JPI

When asked if she thought B&B’s executive producer and head writer, Brad Bell changed course midstream in the story, Kimberlin expressed, “Either that or he had this in mind all along and just didn’t tell me about it! But I can’t see anybody doing anything that evil, however. That would be a Sheila moment.”

Photo: JPI

Kimberlin also shared how she first learned she was being let go from the show, recalling, “Brad called me upstairs to talk to me about what he had in mind for Sheila. It was a hard pill for me to swallow. It had been years of playing Sheila, and I consider her my baby, so to speak. And that was definitely not news I was anticipating or hoping to receive.” She added “When I walked into his office, he looked at me and went, ‘We’re killing off your character.’”

As to what the future holds for Sheila, enduring villainess and fan favorite, Kimberlin Brown, shared some intel: “I am happy to say that I have been asked to negotiate another contract.’

So, glad to know that Kimberlin Brown is back as Sheila Carter? What do you think will be Sheila’s next move? Did you believe for a second, maybe two, that Sheila would really be ‘dead-dead’ on the soaps? Comment below.

(INTERVIEW) Y&R’s Eric Braeden Chats on His First Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination in 20 Years, Why He Entered the Race After Voting Reform, and His Enduring Legacy as Victor Newman

The Young and the Restless’ iconic Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) received his first Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination in 20 years, when NATAS and the 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards revealed who would be going for gold at the upcoming ceremony on June 7th live on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.

The iconic Braeden is a past Lead Actor recipient having won back in 1998. However, the last time Eric was nominated in the category was 2004. Throughout his enduring run on the top-rated CBS soap opera, he has now received a total of 9 Lead Actor nominations and a 10th, when back in 2002, along with Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki), they were nominated in the now defunct and then special fan voted category for “America’s Favorite Couple.”

This year, Eric’s nominated reel features scenes between Victor and Adam (Mark Grossman) where they discuss their fractured relationship as father and son, and the struggles and conflicts they have had personally and in business. In addition, Braeden also shares scenes with Melody Thomas Scott’s Nikki, where Victor voices his disappointment that the Newman children seemingly can’t get along and work together within the Newman dynasty. In Eric’s reel, the only characters who make appearances are the aforementioned Adam and Nikki.

Michael Fairman visited the set of The Young and the Restless for a special video sit-down with the legendary star exclusively for the Michael Fairman Channel.

During the conversation, Eric touched upon why he will participate in the Daytime Emmys at this point in his career due to changes in the voting procedures, his most embarrassing Emmy moment, how he feels about his fellow nominees, and that he wilattending this year’s ceremony.

Here are a few excerpts from the interview below, followed by the full video interview in its entirety.

How does it feel to get your first Lead Actor nomination in 20 years?

ERIC: You can’t help but feel very good about it. I had not submitted any stuff for more than 10 years, because I didn’t believe in the voting process. Finally, the academy had the sense to invite outsiders to widen the circle of those who vote for this. You cannot ask for objectivity when you vote from within only your company. That’s nonsense. Then, personalities play a role in who likes who. I’m very happy about the nomination, though.

You had some scenes between father and son on your nominated reel, as Victor and Adam (Mark Grossman) discuss their complex relationship and history. How was working with Mark?

ERIC: Mark Grossman is a wonderful actor. He’s a good actor.

You would up this year in a Lead Actor category that also features: John McCook (Eric, B&B), Thorsten Kaye (Ridge, B&B), Scott Clifton (Liam, B&B), and Eric Martsolf (Brady, DAYS). I think you know some of these gentlemen?

ERIC: Thorsten Kaye is a very good actor. I’ve known John McCook for 150 years, I think 140 years, maybe. And the other gentlemen, I don’t know, but I’m sure they’re all worthy of receiving the same award.

Photos: CBS and JPI

I talked to Eric Martsolf after he received his Daytime Emmy nomination, and he said he’s so honored to be in the category with you, and that his late mother would be so thrilled that he’s in the category with Victor Newman. My late mom felt the same way when she came to the set and met you years ago. For so many people, you are the guy they all want to meet.

ERIC: That’s nice. That’s really very touching to know. This medium in that sense has been wonderful. As I’ve told you before, I joined this reluctantly and signed on for three months, and here I am 44 years later. That’s very nice to know about Eric’s mother, and your mother.

What was your reaction to finding out you were nominated?

ERIC: To be very frank with you, I was very happy. I said “Oh, that’s nice.” Someone had listened because I’d complained for years about the voting system, and it was based on pure laziness as far as I’m concerned. There are 150,000 registered actors in Hollywood. You can’t tell me that you can vote only from within your company. It’s nonsense. It’s not right. You know, let other actors from the outside be judges of what they see.

Photo: Courtesy/NATAS

I believe when you won in 1998, you didn’t go to the Emmy’s, right?

ERIC: I was doing a Shakespeare play that evening, if I recall. However, I’ve got to tell you about the most embarrassing moment. Aretha Franklin was a big fan of the show and of mine. She had asked me if I would present with her at Radio City Music Hall in New York. These producers when you accept an award, be it the Oscars or whatever it is, they will sit in the booth, and they say, “Move on, move on, move on.” They want you to get on and off stage very quickly. That should not be allowed. When you receive an award, then it should last a little. So, there’s a ticker thing in front of me, and you look at it and kept on saying, “Eric Braeden move on.” I’d hardly been there with Aretha Franklin and I wanted to thank Bill Bell (co-creator and former head writer, Y&R). We owe everything to him. We owe everything to that man’s foundation and his genius. So, I stood there with Aretha and I saw again “Eric Braeden.” So I said, “And I would like to thank Eric Braeden.” The moment I said it, I wanted to sink in to the ground. Fortunately, it was a long time ago, but I had to bring it up again because I’ll never forget it.

Photo: CBS

You’ve done so much for this industry, so much for Y&R, and the soaps. You’re an icon in it. It must be nice to get recognized by your peers, at this point in your career.

ERIC: It felt wonderful, no question. I even sent the nominating announcement to my brothers in German. I’m very happy about it, very proud of it, you know.

So, will you be rooting for Eric come Emmy night to take home his first Lead Actor Emmy in 20 years? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
