I’m beginning to love the show! Has Mal’s material begun?
I believe that it has!
I agree. It is starting to perk up a bit. Let’s hope it stays that way. As the old saying goes, tune in tomorrow!!!
Yes, Mal took over as executive producer about a month ago.
Need to keep the character of Travis the best chemistry AH has had since Miller left you need to shelve the Billy and Victoria story and move her along she has chemistry with this actor that plays Travis don’t make her carry a story out with a actor she shares no chemistry with. Why is Jason Thompson playing Billy as arrogant and just blah! Dissapointed
k/Kay…Agree about Travis and Victoria chemistry. It’s like a breath of fresh air compared to Billy and any of the other Y&R couples for that matter. Feel bad about Jason. I was hoping he would have a meatier role than Dr. Patrick on GH, but really don’t like how they are writing for him on Y&R.
Colleen’s heart finally took over Victor’s body as he tried to make things right with Adam.
Ahhh, Timmmy!!!! Too late!!!! Over and over again; Victor screws up, then tries to remedy the situation…alas; leaving havoc in his wake….I do not see a repetition of the same mistake as making amends. He manipulated and schemed by having someone else take the blame. Oh, my Timmmy!! That’s not making things right! Making things right is taking the blame upon himself and apologize to Adam and all involved by admitting the truth. That is the stuff that makes a man!!!!!
However, I will agree with you, if only Victor is sincere. Once this episode is said and done, Victor will continue to garner his storehouse of debauchery and criminal brain. He must. It is what it is. We need evil as much as good…..all these characters are Victor’s little foils….LOL. But, never will I give Victor the title of repentant.
Victor deserves a dishonorable discharge. When will he pay for his sins? That is the only way he will be forgiven…..starting the first chapter of his brand new book. NO MORE TYRANNY!!!! Love you!!!!!
For Victor it is as close as you get to an apology. Do you suppose his actions COULD be tied to his horrific childhood? I know he always brings that up and wants to protect his family but could this be a legitimate excuse? I say no. Kids who grow up in rough neighborhoods who get a break and pee it away often blame their childhood and lack of parental guidance BUT wouldn’t one want to prevail from that living hell? Victor means well BUT he protects one and hurts THREE! Love you to!
I suppose you’re right, my Timmmy. I have never dealt with anyone as Victor. I hope I never do.
Growing up, my father ‘s lecture to us girls would always end the same way ; wolves run rampant/amok in all neighborhoods ; of the male persuasion, that is..
God bless your dad! I cannot imagine trying to Navigate daughters through a maze of evil wolves! So, you are Little Red Riding Hood? Luv ya!
I am married to a tamed wolf, Timmmy. Little Red Riding Hood no more. HaHa.
But, you’re right. Men are very protective and possessive of their daughters. My poor Daddy has four. He is not the same with my two brothers. It’s a different kind of worry, I guess. Now, with all the grandchildren, his hair is greying by the minute. LOL.
This is why I don’t understand Victor’s volatile persona. That’s not the way a father treats his children. He tries to protect his daughters and granddaughter from men he does not approve….but, he goes about it in such a diabolical way. All I ask is for the writers to send him to that facility for the mentally ill.
It seems that the writers can’t make up their minds about him. The yo-yo effect is dizzying.
Why do ‘they’ inject Victor with so much bitter poison only to make him regret his actions? Over and over. It was interesting when the idea was new and original. But, now, it’s annoying.
Love you, too, Timmmy.
I totally agree with you k/kay. I loved AH with Travis practically fro day one. To me me the Billy and Victoria ship sailed when the chcharacter of Billy became a revolving door of actors. Let continue their friendship for the sake of the kids. But other than that, it’s time the moved on. I am hoping that after Friday’s episode, Luca and Summer will finally be over. I say replace Luca with Travis. Given the proper chance, Victoria and Travis could be a wonderful couple. I really don’t understand where they are taking the character of Billy. To arrogant and smug for my taste. A little whiny as well. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
I think that initially they were letting the actor that plays Travis go but I think they had to sense the chemistry with AH and brought him back. Like I have said I just can’t get into JT’s version of Billy I think maybe with the revolving door of actors they should have sent him out of town until Miller came back now that JFP is gone he might have came back eventually. I sure don’t think Miller looks happy at all at GH
Y&R is in a really good place right now, and the ratings prove it. Mal Young is doing a great job so far as executive producer, and Chuck Pratt’s material has been really good lately. The directing has been top-notch too, and so have the location shoots. It’s no wonder why Y&R is #1.
A big part of that is because the show has always kept the major story surrounding its core families, the Newmans and Abbotts. Most characters from each family is part of a big story and has something going on, and Y&R knows how to create umbrella stories that encompass the majority of the cast.
If you look at GH, the show feels very disjointed. There are loose-end characters all over the place that don’t fit into the fabric of show at all, and are therefore relegated to their own separate stories, instead of being intertwined into the bigger picture of the show. Furthermore, there are very few members of GH’s core families remaining that are seen regularly on the show, except, of course, for the Corinthos’ who are featured nearly every day of the week. Most of GH is populated by newbies with no ties to the canvas and no history in Port Charles.
Whereas, the majority of Y&R’s cast is characters who have been in Genoa City for years, and even characters who were once newbies (Chelsea, Chloe, Stitch, Cane, etc.) have been woven into the canvas and mesh with the other characters. Nearly everyone on the show has spent screen time with each other, whereas on GH, there are characters who have been in town for months and are only now meeting other characters (i.e. Ava and Hayden’s meeting on Friday’s episode).
It looks like Luca will finally be taken off the canvas, which I’m happy about. I never liked the character, even though Miles Gaston Villanueva plays him so well. I’m really looking forward to learning more about Neil’s past with Nichelle Nichols’s character. And, surprisingly, I really like Travis and Victoria together.
However, I think it would have been better if Y&R brought in Michael Roark as a recast J.T. and Chrishell Stause as Mac instead of Bethany. That way, there would be some longevity with their characters, because I don’t see Travis sticking around much longer, and Bethany is already gone.
Great post–I agree.
Y&R is finally starting to show life again.
And dare I hope that we are going to get a break from Chelsey’s constant histrionics?
Nope Harry it is obvious that they plan on pairing her with Nick that is why the sudden love fest between Nick &Adam and Adam telling Nick to take care of Connor. Obvious!
Looks good. Seems like Luca will be gone soon–good.
I want Adam free from prison and back in GC with his family.
I would like to see Bethany return, but don’t know how that could happen.
Interesting to get some backstory on Neil.
I’d like that too, Mo.
The only way Bethany would be able to return, in my opinion, is to expose Victor and Chloe. I find it so frustrating how these two have gotten away with so much. But, I guess both of them feel justified….Victor’s vendetta and “I will show you” attitude towards Adam; and Chloe’ s vicious pay-back. Sadly, she does not see that her and Victor’s calculated crime is worse than any accident.
The difference between Victor and Chloe is that she was motivated by hurt, insanity and pain; wanting to inflict the same pain on Adam…..Victor did it out of pure evil and misplaced, arrogant pride….methodical, to boot.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
