Great news for Greg Rikkart’s (Kevin, Y&R) husband, TV comedy writer, Robert Sudduth.

According to a report via Deadline.com, ABC is developing a new-single camera comedy written by Sudduth and from the O’Neals c0-creators, Casey Johnson and David Windsor.

But in a fun twist, the untitled series is based partly on Sudduth’s life as at the epicenter of the story is a man who, along with his husband and son, moves back in with his Mexican-American family in the heart of Texas, where he struggles to navigate his family’s deep-rooted traditions.

Sudduth was born and raised by a Latino family in Texas and is married to Daytime Emmy winner, Rikaart; and the two have a son Montgomery Argo Rikaart-Sudduth who was born just over a year ago.

Upon the news today, Rikaart took to his Twitter account and humorously tweeted: “Semi-autobiographical!? I’m not sure if I should be thrilled or terrified. Way to go, Robbie!”

Johnson and Windsor will executive produce the new comedy, with Sudduth serving as co-executive producer. ABC Studios will be the the studio behind the project.

As for Sudduth his writing talents have been part of several TV series including: Telenovela, GCB, The New Normal, The Crazy Ones, and Red Band Society.

So what do you think of the concept of the new comedy in development which is loosely based on Sudduth and Rikaart’s life together? Comment below!

Sudduth wrote for some fairly good series. I hope this new project is not so off-putting and disappointing as O’NEALS was to me.

I can’t wait for this. Such good news, it sounds like a lot of fun. Congratulations, Robert. Now, if only we could get Greg back on Y&R full-time, life would be indeed as beautiful as you are a family.

Tamron Hall Daytime Talk Show To Launch Fall 2019 On ABC Owned Stations

Looks like the daytime talk show market is going to get more than just the new Kelly Clarkson Show in the fall of 2019.

Tamron Hall, the former Today co-host will definitely launch her new talker, as well.

Disney ABC has cleared the new syndicated daytime talk show hosted by Hall on the ABC Owned Television Stations Group for fall 2019.

According to Deadline:  The project had been in development at Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer & International for the past couple of months.

They report that it is unclear where the Tamron Hall show will go on the ABC stations line-ups. Depending on the market, it could replace Rachel Ray, which currently airs on three of the eight ABC stations, or Right This Minute.

The ABC Owned Television Stations Group include the following markets: WABC-TV in New York; KABC-TV in Los Angeles; WLS-TV in Chicago; WPVI-TV in Philadelphia; KGO-TV in San Francisco; KTRK-TV in Houston; WTVD-TV in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; and KFSN-TV in Fresno, California. The eight stations represent 23% of the country’s television households and will serve as the show’s launch group.

“We’re excited to bring Tamron Hall to our ABC Owned Stations next fall and are confident she’ll be a unique and welcome voice in daytime,” said Wendy McMahon, president, ABC Owned Television Stations Group. “Tamron is refreshingly authentic and approachable. She genuinely cares about people, their struggles and their triumphs. We know she’ll connect with our audiences in a personal and positive way.”

So, what do you think about a Tamron Hall talker and more gabfest’s entering the once soap opera filled day-part? Comment below.  But first watch this teaser video with Tamron of what she says her show will feel like.
