‘As the World Turns’ Alums Try to Stump Contestants On All-New Episode of ‘Soap Opera Know-It-All’ Game Show

In the sixth episode of the virtual game show, Soap Opera Know-It-All four fans battle it out over their knowledge of deep trivia of daytime and primetime soaps, exclusively on the Michael Fairman Channel.

For this edition, the game show’s host, Michael Fairman, welcomes longtime soap fans: Robert Evans, Nancy Levy, Matthew Preston, and returning champion, Michael Cochran.

During round one of the game play and throughout the episode, former stars from the beloved CBS soap opera As the World Turns appear and participate trying to stump the contestants including: Maura West (Ex-Carly), Martha Byrne (Ex-Lily/Rose), Van Hansis (Ex-Luke), Colleen Zenk (Ex-Barbara), Christian LeBlanc (Ex-Kirk) and Trent Dawson (Ex-Henry), and later in the show, look for a special guest appearance by Days of our Lives favorite, Blake Berris (Ex-Nick Fallon) in the ‘Knock Out Round’.

The contestants knowledge of the following soaps were put to the test during this sixth episode: All My Children, Another World, As the World Turns, Desperate Housewives, General Hospital, Guiding Light, Knots Landing, Sunset Beach, Edge of Night, One Life to Live, Santa Barbara, The Bold and the Beautiful.

As the game show series moves through its now back-half of the season, the winning contestant must defeat the competition for the right to move on to the next episode to face three more challengers all in pursuit of the “Know-It-All” title with special soap-related prizes along the way.

A different kind of question. Why do soaps sometime duplicate character names, sometime at the same time, like Finn on GH and B&B? And sometime with films? Finn is also one of the main characters in “StarWars Force Awakens.” Another one, after watching the “Twilight” series again this week…the name Esme belonged to the wife of Dr. Carlisle Cullen before Esme on GH. I’m sure commenters on MF could think of more.

Rose, I used to feel the same way about Carly Tenney Snyder (Maura West) on ATWT and Carly Benson Corinthos on GH, both of whom began within one year of each other. Other than the great legend Carly Simon, I rarely heard that name.

ATWT Alum Alexandra Chando Cast in NBC Pilot Based on Dutch Show ‘Adam & Eva’

In casting news, Alexandra Chando (Ex-Maddie, As the World Turns) had been tapped to play one of the leading roles in the upcoming untiled NBC pilot based on the Dutch series, Adam & Eva.

Chando will be joined by Younger star, Ben Rappaport as the epicenter of the proposed series.

The log lines share that the project is both funny and heartfelt and will chronicle the epic love and lives of two complete strangers, Adam (Rappaport) and Eva (Chando), whose multiple run-ins begin to defy coincidence, leading both to believe in fate.

According to Deadline, Alexandra’s role of Eva is said to be an aspiring artist and force of nature whose relationship and views on fate are put to the test when she meets Adam.

Alexandra commented on social media:Immensely excited and grateful to be apart of this incredible show.”

As the World Turns fans will remember Chando received a Daytime Emmy nomination for her performances back in 2007 and she was previously seen in The Lying Game and Sneaky Pete.

Julianne Moore Pays Tribute to ATWT’s Kathryn Hays: “I Am in Indebted to Her and So Saddened by Her Loss”

The soap world has been in mourning since last Friday with the news of the passing of As the World Turns icon, Kathryn Hays (Kim Hughes).  The beloved actress passed away a few weeks ago at the age of 87.

Now, Hays former on-screen stepdaughter and niece, Oscar winner, Julianne Moore (Ex-Frannie/Sabrina Hughes) took to Instagram over the weekend to share her heartfelt remembrance and grief of working with Hays early in her acting career on ATWT.

Moore shared: “The beautiful and gracious Kathryn Hays has passed away. I worked with Kathryn on As the World Turns at the beginning of my career and she treated me with such kindness and generosity, and demonstrated in her every action how to be professional on a set. I am indebted to her and so saddened by her loss. My thoughts are with her family – she spoke to me so often of her daughter. I hope they know what a profound influence Kathryn had on me, and so many others. RIP Kathryn ❤️❤️❤️ ”

Julianne had played twins Frannie and Sabrina from 1985-1988 and then returned to the CBS soap opera one final time in 2010 before ATWT made its final farewell.

As the World Turns’ Beloved Kathryn Hays Passes Away at 87

Heartbreaking news to report this Friday. Kathryn Hays, a mainstay of As the World Turns in the role of Kim Hughes has died.  The actress passed away on Monday March 25th at the age of 87 in Fairfield, Connecticut.

Hayes had played the role of Kim for 38 years on the CBS daytime drama series.  Throughout her enduring career, one of Kathryn’s other most notable roles was that of “Gem” in the original Star Trek.  She also appeared in many series and productions o the stage, screen, and TV.

In a statement, Hays’ longtime ATWT screen-partner Don Hastings (Bob Hughes) expressed: “Our relationship as Bob & Kim, was as close as Kathryn & my relationship except we were not married. We were more like brothers and sisters and we were great friends. Our biggest squabble was that she always wanted to rehearse and I wanted to take a nap. This is a huge loss to all who knew her.”

Kathryn is survived by daughter Sherri, son-in-law Bob, grandchildren Kate, Cameron and Garrett, and great-grandson Jack.
