Ashley Jones Making A Return To The Bold and the Beautiful
Looks like Ashley Jones next stop is Los Angeles, and not Port Charles.
News today out of Soap Opera Digest has that the talented Jones will appear back on her old stomping grounds, The Bold and the Beautiful.
Ashley will be reprising her role as Bridget Forrester, when she returns for a “very special family occasion.”
Jones first came on to the series back in 2004 and was last seen on B&B back in early 2016.
Fans of GH have been hoping that Jones (Ex-Parker) would reunite on-screen with Lexi Ainsworth (Kristina) who is returning to the ABC daytime drama series to tell more of the love story of Pristina.
So, glad to see Ashley taking on ? Comment below.
Really dumbed that Ashley isn’t returning to gh as Parker to continue the Pristina love story but at the same time I’m happy she is back at BnB as Bridget. Pristina fans are not giving up hope, we are staying positive that she will return to Port Charles soon.
Thats good. She is a good actress but I want Kristina on GH to move on from their relationship.
Better this actress goes back to B&B rather than GH…even though for me, her Bridget will always greatly pale in comparison to Jennifer Finnigan’s version. Still, it’s preferable to suffering through more of that highly-contrived, poorly-written Parker drama that never really made much sense in terms of Kristina’s long-established backstory.
its also hard to get involved in stories like theirs that mostly happened off camera…maybe had we seen their relationship slowly develop from the beginning on screen it might have helped…Kristina could be shown at the college-maybe dating some guy-wondering why their relationship isnt working…she confides in Parker and kristina starts to feel an attraction but doesnt do anything about it because she isnt sure how Parker might feel…until Parker invites her out to dinner one evening while her husband is away on a business trip!!!…Parker’s husband is controlling and mentally abusive…Kristina overhears their argument and it brings her closer to Parker…then one day her husband catches Parker in bed with Kristina and it costs Parker her job…then Parkers husband is found murdered with both Parker and Kristina as suspects…Kristina is charged…Carly and Sonny believe Parker set her up because they overhear Parker tell Kristina she is glad her husband is dead…but it turns out Parker’s husband was murdered by his business partner who was embezzling money from their company and killed Parker’s husband after he learned the truth!!!
NO WAY! The way Ashley plays Bridget blew the other Bridget out of the water! No comparison . Ashley Jones is Bridget !!
Given that the extremely-talented Jennifer won a record-setting three consecutive daytime Emmys for her portrayal as Bridget, I can hardly see where Ms. Jones blew HER out of the water! Quite frankly, I so disliked the recast after Finnigan’s departure, that it was the beginning of my distate for B&B, which I had avidly watched from Day One…that, along with the overuse of Brooke, finally drove me away from the show for good. And that was even long before the disastrous, inexplicable choice of Thorsten Kaye as “Ridge2!!!”
I don’t care what she won, what has she done since? Ashley is much more attractive, which Bridget needed to be with the S/L’s they were writing for her, different relationships. She did an amazing job evolving Bridget from an insecure, unstable girl into a confident, strong, independent woman! Ashley has also been in numerous movies, and appearances on several prime time shows, and on another soap.
What has Finnigan done since? Starred in her own primetime tv series and performed in numerous others—up to and including the present—-not to mention married a Hollywood actor and became a mother….her plate is full! And as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I happen to find her more attractive than Ms. Jones…just saying! I’ve never taken to that particular actress, nor the one currently playing Kristina. for the record!…I strongly preferred the lovely Lindsay Morgan who portrayed the sexy, tempestuous Krissie…despite her character’s occasional immaturity, she infused the role with a more grown-up vibe that would have provided a greater-balanced relationship with Parker…at least for me, this storyline has been fraught with problems not because of its subject matter, but the actors and the way their characters have come across…Krissie as a spoiled, petulant teenager and Parker as the seemingly much older woman whose power position in a professor/student dynamic crossed the line…which would be no different were she of the male persuasion. (Which many of us initially thought was indeed the case, and we weren’t liking the idea even then….) Lastly, I don’t know how long you have watched GH, but Sonny’s brief May-December romance with the far younger Emily raised just as many eyebrows….it was not a popular pairing by any stretch of the imagination, and fans were quite pleased when it was finished.
Umm..Ashley has been in numerous movies and numerous prime time shows, including the successful True Blood series, while she was playing Bridget. She’s talented enough to do both as she did again in 2016 on GH & B&B.
She didn’t need to make a splash marrying an actor… who cares. She’s married & has 2 kids and has been doing movies & primetime while being a hands-on-mom! She’s getting ready to go film another movie! VERY BUSY ACTRESS.
She’s amazingly beautiful, talented & is phenomenal with her fans.
Ashley is the one & only Bridget Forrester! That’s why she was asked back several times & currently.
On GH, Lexi & Ashley have phenomenal chemistry & a beautiful groundbreaking story. Better brush up on the story b/c nothing ever happened while she was Kristina’s Prof. So take your power trip & &@$&! Last year after reuniting, nothing ever happened UNTIL Kristina withdrew from PCU, again NO problem!
They have the best chemistry of any couple on GH.
I’m sick & tired of hearing the same idiotic statement about age. It doesn’t matter if the couple is happy, not you, the couple themselves…AGE is for wine.
BTW, Ellen & Portia have 15 years age difference, exactly the same as Ashley & Lexi.
Beyonce & J-Z have 12 years age difference.
There are many more too…that’s the stupidest remark ever!
Sent before adding this, not only Sonny & Emily,
but Luke & Laura (she was a teenager) & raped but went on to have a relationship!! At least Kristina is a consenting adult, Laura was not!
Morgan & Ava
Griffin & Ava
Both accepted as was huge age difference with Luke & Laura & he’s a rapist!!!
Preach, Shay, preach!
Thank you, MJ100…I actually expounded upon a number of the previously mentioned points, but as is so often the case, I was not allowed the courtesy of a posted response. However, all you have said comports with my views, as well. Spot on!
Wait…you actually said, “Ashley is much more attractive (than Jennifer) and you’re calling others judgmental?? Pot, meet Kettle.
No one ever will have the chemistry with Lexi that Ashley did & it carried over to Parker & Kristina. All those looks from Kristina at & to Parker looked so real, wanting & loving. The same for Parker… she spoke with those gorgeous eyes.. no words necessary!
Will not watch any one else with Kristina b/c it’s going to be bland, boring, and ordinary. Unfortunately people are living under a rock b/c their May-Dec same sex story was helping others deal with the same obstacles. Age difference couple DO exist… age doesn’t determine who your heart falls in love with.
Ashley Jones is a very good actress and I wish her well on B&B. Especially since it may mean she WON’T be back as the repulsive Parker on GH. Works out well for everyone!
From your lips! I like Ashley, but prefer seeing her with a man, and not the tiny Kristina.
I love both actresses portraying these characters but with Lexi Ainsworth looking like she’s barely 18 (actress is 25) and Ashley Jones looking like her age (actress is 42), I must admit, it feels a little creepy to me and I have a hard time rooting for this couple. And being a gay man myself, I REALLY want to root for them. I know I’m in the minority on this one, but if it were a man and a woman in the same situation, I would feel the same way. I hope Kristina can find some happiness soon with another person. Thanks for listening.
You seriously have not come in contact with May-Dec relationships?? Or if it were an older man with a younger woman that’s accepted!! Hypocrisy! One big example are Ellen & Portia..15 years difference! Beyonce & Jay-Z….12 years!! The heart loves who it loves & doesn’t know or care about age of the other. Isn’t happiness the end result… now we berate couples that are in love & happy b/c their ages don’t match up to your expectations???
Mary, obviously you did not read my entire post before responding with multiple exclamation points. If you had, you clearly would have read where I stated if it were a man and a woman I would feel the same way. My issue is one of the actors could easily pass for underage while the other clearly looks older. That’s the point. Your examples of Ellen & Portia and Beyonce & Jay-Z do not apply because none of them look underage. That’s the point, Mary. Next time, please read entire posts before responding with fake anger.
My original post didn’t make it. I agree with you MJ100. It wasn’t the age difference so much as the “appearance” of the difference. Lexi can pass for a young teen and Ashley looks like she’s in her 40s. They truly came off in both looks and demeanor as mother/daughter. If Alexis were bi I could see HER with Ashley (even though there’s an age difference there, too, but they look like contemporaries and Valerie..if she were bi…with Kristina.
Anyone who’s read my posts on this site knows I am the least ageist person going and fight against it. But I must say that this coupling had me baffled and cringing. Who knows? MAYBE if I’d seen more of them and their rapport developed in such a way that they seemed more like two adults instead on one adult/one child, I would have liked them As it stood? So, no.
Ding! Ding! Ding! Exactly, rebecca1. Thank you for understanding my post. I completely agree with you. It has nothing to do age-ism and everything to do with appearance. I would not be surprised if this was the reason GH all of a sudden decided to send them both out of town. I think the media in general really needs to be careful in the casting decisions they make when it comes to these type of storylines. Cheers, rebecca1!
You’re welcome, MJ100. Sorry it took so long to come to your defense but as said I responded right away and just assumed it didn’t post “yet.” When I noticed it wasn’t happening I gave it another shot.
As for the discrepancy in appearance, I’m not sure if the media is to blame when both parties are literally of legal age in real life and in story. As we can see there are some fans of the couple who didn’t seem bothered by the huge visual gap. Didn’t work for me at all. And to top it off, Parker’s personality came off as maternal, as well. The whole thing just, to coin your words, “felt creepy.” Hopefully that “ship” has sailed.
Sounds like she is only making a pitstop on B&B so GH fans can still hope for the love story between her character and Kristina to get picked back up.
Best of both worlds if she were on both soaps! She’s super talented & could certainly do it. She was in True Blood the same time she was on B&B. In 2016, she was on GH & B&B at the same time. Wally Kurth is on GH and also on DAYS….so why not the beautiful, highly talented Ashley
She’s much more interesting as Parker.
x2
Ashley is great. B and B should bring her back for Ridge, and give Thorston and Katherine something to do. GH is scared to bring her back. The age difference didn’t help. GH should bring her back, have her go against Alexis, and don’t play her with
Kristina.
Instead of concentrating on an amazing, groundbreaking story, who more fans than not, said was helping them with similar struggles, all they got out of it were ages…seriously… how shallow & judgemental can people be. What about Ellen & Portia, 15 years age difference; Beyonce & Jay-Z, 12 years difference! Bottom line when you find love & happiness grab it!
Stop judging ridiculously… age is for wine
Liam and Hope’s wedding! Finally Bell is showing Lope fans some love! Liam and Hope have never been married or given a chance! Will be interesting to watch! Steffy is going to independent woman route much like Brooke did in 1999 and she chopped her hair off! JMW is a versatile actress so they are about to let her shine with other leading men!
