CARRRLOS! Jeffrey Vincent Parise Returns To General Hospital!

Did those “Free Carlos” chants pay off at the recent General Hospital Fan Club Weekend? News today out of Soap Opera Digest has that the fiery Jeffrey Vincent Parise (Carlos) will be returning to the ABC soap opera tomorrow as the imprisoned former love Sabrina (Teresa Castillo)! Thanks to Ava (Maura West) he has behind bars!
According to SOD, when Parise got word from GH executive producer Frank Valentini, he could not have been more enthused! Jeffrey revealed, “It was a great day. I was excited. I felt like a boxer in training who gets the word that there’s a fight coming up!”
What do you hope happens when Carlos is back on air? Do you want him out of prison? Seeking revenge? Getting back together with Sabrina? Comment below!
I am so glad go back with Sabina and help her find the truth about the accident. Welcome back Jeffrey
Love Carlos!! Hope he is back for good!!
I want him doing all the things that you mentioned above!
Great news…love him with Sabrina
What just doesn’t add up to me, is that Carlos and Sabrina were High School sweethearts? He looks old enough to be her father…well, of course, that’s an exaggeration, but you know what I’m getting at. He looks at least 10 years older and he probably is; I haven’t checked, but he looks it.
Perhaps his return means he and Sabrina will end up together…sob and sigh…but I really think Sabrina must break loose from all the negativity of her past. Frankly, as far as I am concerned, both Carlos and Patrick are a thorn in her side….unsaddle her of these guys and allow her to get re-acquainted with herself. She does not need a man in her life right now. She needs time to regroup.
He’s 41 and she’s 30 and it woefully shows up on screen. Just make him the lech he is having gone after sabrina when she was 17 and he was 27 and there would have been SOOO much more story and drama there. No. RC brings him on looking like he flunked High School a myriad of times and ran into Sabrina like he was a 21 Jump Street undercover high school cop. At least make him dye his hair and get a cleaner shave…it could help. Sometimes writers think their stories are so good we’ll play stupid and swallow them down. PLEEEAAASSE!!!
I always figured he first encountered her selling Girl Scout cookies or buying “penny candy” in a sweet shop, and well, the rest was history!
@davlestev1….Not only are “Ca-brina” obviously years apart in age, but quite disproportionate in size….she is much larger than him! He appeared so slight and diminutive in that prison garb and there she was towering over him….like she could crush him! Not a good fit…. just like the “Napoleonic” Sonny and his “Aggressive Amazon” Carly!
Now, now… Have we been reduced to tearing apart our beloved Port Charles peeps inch by inch, hair by hair, girth by grunge…what have we become?????? And now…age…or AGISM!!! As you can see, Sabrina and Carlos are no different than:
Morgan and Ava…
Ned and “Auntt” Monica back in the day
Sonny and Emily
Carly and (stepdad) Tony
Luke and Laura!
And…I may be mistaken but I don’t think they met in high school. I think they were a couple in Puerto Rico (?) and she broke up with him to pursue nursing and gain independence.
As for Carrrrrrrrrrlos…wouldn’t be surprised if they gave him a makeover as well. Googled him too; quite the renaissance man…actor, artist…screen and TV credits. Great looking guy degrunged!
And Shay…Carlos and Sabrina’s age and proportions are not going to be anything once/if they give air time to Milo and Epiphany…not only is she a wee tad “healthier” than him…she’s 47 and he’s 31.
So ya see…it’s just another day in the neighborhood….
@shay
LOL
and then some more
“…I always figured he first encountered her selling Girl Scout cookies or buying “penny candy” in a sweet shop, and well, the rest was history! ”
bears repeating… especially the girl scout part
Some neighborhood there, rebecca1!!!! It just keeps getting curiouser and curiouser……
The age difference doesn’t bother me….we can’t help with whom we fall in love. I just thought Carlos was being passed off as a thirty-year old. I guess I thought wrong, that they were both In
school at the same time.
And yes, I agree that if Carlos were given a makeover …cleaned up….he’ d be really good looking. He is deminuative, as is good ole Sonny, but hey, Sonny seems to get all the women and then some. Why , oh, why does Sonny keep popping up in my head? My brain is mired with thoughts of him…oh, Sonny!!! Is Shay right? I must be obsessed with this guy…lol
Ewww, Ned and ‘aunt Monica’? …was not aware of that…lol
@CeeCee…
It was about twenty five years ago and was, in my opinion, a great affair! There was a different actor playing Ned…Kurt McKiney…if you google him in the year 1985 you’ll see how stunning he was. Anyway, he was I guess playing his age and “Aunt Monica” was a very attractiive 40-something I guess. They met at a spa. I think he was a tennis instructor. At that time Ned was estranged from the family so neither of them knew they were related…and though they were…it was thru marriage. (Uncle Alan’s wife.) I loved it!
Shay. Caught up today. I don’t think Sabrina towers over Carlos. I think they’re great together. I do however think Brit towers over Nicolas. She always looks massive next to him…
@rebecca. Guess what? I did look Kurt Mckiney, and you’re right. He was absolutely beautiful…really hot, as a young guy. He is also aging well. Wow…not a Wally Kurth(sp) – look-a-like, not one bit.
Kurt also dabbles in movies and music, I see.
See CeeCee? Ahem. I told ya! Yep; he was quite the looker. But I must say I truly like Wally Kurth. I think he’s good-looking as well and very charming. It’s a win-win… 🙂
WHOOPIE!!
Jeffrey Vincent Parise (Carlos) back in action..
His return is going to create chaos !! I like that!
He will mix things up.. between Ava and the mob and Sabrina and whateverelse!
I like when a can of worms is opened!!
Looking forward to new excitement!
I see him working for Sonny.
Seeing that we all know that Victor Cassadine was the one who got Sabrina, Patrick, Emma, and a now deceased Gabriel run off the road by Rafe, you can bet that Carlos will want to pin the murder of Gabriel on Ava and he will spill the beans on who actually shot AJ and how Ava fit so well into those plans. At this point, Carlos doesn’t have much to lose!
He has the same thing he had to lose before…Sabrina. Ava will threaten Sabrina.
yay! I like Carrrrrrrrlos! I don’t even have an opinion right now on whether I’d like to see him finally win back Sabrina because I’m curious to see where they take this character mob-wise. And with so many mix n’ match potential couples there are a few pairings that could be interesting. But Carlos is a way passionate man and he loves Sabrina with all his heart. He’s sacrificed his own freedom to protect her….hmmmm…so, on second thought, if he stills wants to be with her, I hope she gives him a chance. Ahhhhhh…true lpve……………
Jefferey Vincent Parise is one of the nicest, funniest, most passionate actors I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting! I’m THRILLED that he’s coming back to GH! #FREECARLOS
Happy to see Carlos back, but where’s Ric? Don’t make us wait for too long, GH!
I thought he might be back in since Sabrina looks to be going forward with trying to get revenge for her baby’s death…. and if she thinks back to that night, she might remember how frantic Carlos was and then he suddenly went to prison.
Anything that keeps Sabrina away from Patrick is fine by me. If that means Sabrina and Carlos reuniting once he’s out of prison, and running off to Puerto Rico together, then I’m more than happy with that. I don’t see the use for either character.
Touche’, Jimmy! The hot-tempered hitman and his superfluous former squeeze absolutely belong together, if for no other reason than sending them off as a duo would be the best method of expediently killing two most unnecessary birds with one stone!!! Furthermore, why must we now be subjected to this woefully witless wench attempting to go full “Sherlock” on this case???? We already have the far more capable “Honey West” (aka, Sam….) working with Patrick to solve the “Roadkill Mystery.” I so hope I don’t detect the whiff of another “Perils of Pauline” plotline for the “Pink Mop.” (Hat tip to Dr. O. for that priceless moniker!) She’s already quite surpassed the per character limits for whining, weeping, moaning, grousing and otherwise over-emoting….with or without her so-called “new attitude!”
I think he’s a really good actor. He was true blue and had a steady through line: he loved Sabrina. It’ll be great to see him back. Too bad they can’t hook him up with Nina! Can you imagine? Lol!
I really liked Carlos. Glad he’s coming back and hope he’s out of jail. He and Sabrina have unfinished business.
Love Carlos. Great news. Waiting to see how the AJ murder reveal plays out. Hopefully Sonny, Carly and Ava will pay. Especially Sonny!
I , too hope they will pay. But, OMG, don’t you just love Maura West? She is the best soap actress out there…such a natural …IMO. I hope her stay is not curtailed.
Totally love Maura’s Ava. Want her to stay, but don’t know how they can redeem her character. She has great chemistry with everyone on the show. Hope she stays but I need justice for AJ.
Maybe Ava will warn Sonny that Fluke wants Michael dead…and he’ll owe her…give her life back to her…for that info.
That will probably happen, rebecca. I’m thinking Ava will grace our screen for a time, considering the baby drams story. So, that is a very plausible reason to keep her on.
It just occurred to me that it would be truly ironic if Nina did somehow manage to take Ava’s baby to raise as her own. The shoe would definitely be on the other foot. Hah!
interesting CeeCee…but unless Nina’s tummy grows Silas would know she’s not pregnant. And when/if Sonny and/or Morgan found out if that did happen that’d be tres fun/interesting…
Maybe she’ll LOL…oh please no…take Lulu and Dante’s remaining egg!!!
Of course, she will take that remaining egg, rebecca. It’s the only logical conclusion as Nina is nonchalantly making it known that all is well in uterusland…lol…would the stage-keepers go there again?…anything goes in soapland….double lol.
Villian no.2…he(Carrrrrlos) and Sabrina will team to track down who was behind the car accident…Heather is Villian no.1,…in order of their return if one is keeping track of all the villians that are returning to ‘Criminal Hospital’…lol
I like Jeffrey/Carlos. I think his acting is exceptional. He’s okay looking…not the hottie Ryan is, but he has that certain air of savoir-faire which is a plus with the opposite sex. At the same time, I do not want him with Sabrina. I only hope that Carlo’s re-appearance is for the purpose of what Michael has mentioned in his post, and that he will bring all the people involved down.
How about this scenario, jimh. What if whoever caused the accident is aware of the fact that Sabrina is Sonny’s daughter ( yeah, I’m like a dog with a bone…lol) and caused the accident in order to inflict pain on Sonny. I know, I know…it doesn’t serve the purpose if Sonny is not aware of that fact, but what if it all comes to the surface? Makes no sense? I tried.
It could still happen…
Hey CeeCee…they already revealed that Victor Cassadine put Rafe up to causing the accident to show Robin what he could do and more if she goes against his plan to revive the living dead…
Rebecca, I did say I’m hardly ever right…lol
LOL…it’s not about “being right.” We all guess and try to figure out where the story is going…it’s just in this case it was already revealed. Maybe you missed that episode?
I liked Carlos.
I want him to put Sabrina in a UPS box which reads “Return to Sender” written in magic marker with that sender being from Disneyland.
Disneyland and Disney World needs their Goofys so send Levi to one and Franco to the other please…lol
Goofy freaks me out.
Maybe somewhere down the road we’ll disagree, Harry….I mean we always have Dr. O. as a source to mildly part company! Although summertime in Port Charles was breathtakingly dreadful in both its obtuseness and convolution, I am seeing a glimmer of hope for upcoming autumn storylines. (I’m always much more enthused when present plots glean their origins from those of GH’s glory years….) Hence, if some of my favorite legacy peeps turn up on the canvas, I may be a tad less critical!!!! I know you are more demanding in that respect than I am, so perhaps we shall find some differences there!!!! (Fingers crossed for a Frisco sighting, some “Legion of Doom” baddie surprises, not to mention a Scorpio pop-in…..could someone PLEASE rescue Robert from his “Wisconsin” purgatory???? His glaring absence is becoming patently ridiculous!) Oh, by the way, Harry, I’m with you on wanting our beloved “CK8” back ensconced in his cool spy penthouse in the sky…along with that nifty hidden communications nook!
Finally ! So happy he is back.
Glad to see the actor coming back! Hope it’s for more than just a day or two.
I really thought he did a good job on the show with Sabrina–you just felt
that he TRULY cared for her! And I liked that! He put a lot into the role,
and I hope they use his talents well in the future on GH!
You are right. Jeffery is very versatile…he CAN act and is able to authentically mimic perfect ethnic accents and mannerisms. I believe the name Parise is French…not so sure, as it could also be Italian…..nonetheless. I hope he stays for a long time, but not paired with Sabrina. Let them be just good friends.
Yes, Parise can act, but I do often find his Carrrrrr-LOS! to be sooooo melodramatic as to approach the comical….he definitely needs to tone it down. Having said that, I feel sorry for the guy having to carry all his scenes with Sappy since she looks like even more of a lightweight against him than she did with JT. And although I want him to be the one stuck with this thankless, wearisome waif simply for the sake of expediency, I really see no chemistry between them. Quite frankly, I thought the hirsute hitman’s vibes with Ava were truly off the charts….they definitely should have had a backstory, as I easily could have bought into the notion of them having had a down and dirty liaison. (Oh, and I knew a football player in college with the surname “Parise”…..totally Italian!!!!!) ; )
Yeah, Shay. They probably do have a backstory, one riddled with nefarious deeds…lol. I want Carlos to be the hero. I want him to have had a life of suffering and misery and finally find his way out of his murky past by taking Fluke down. “Show me a hero, and I will write you a tragedy”… F.S. Fitzgerald.
About time the moment Gabriel died there was no reason for him to keep quite if you ask me. We now know it wasn’t Ava, but he doesn’t.
Carrrrlos and Sahbreenah should reunite and go back to Puelto Rrrico
Hopefully he is back to kill Saaaaabrina!
I am so excited to see Carlos, I luv seeing Sabrina and Carlos together they have fire with each other ,btw I am also glad that Sabrina is back too, I want to see how this is going to happened, unfortunately we have the writers that we have, These writers cannot write a luv story if they paid them a billion dollar which is sad, but I luv GH
anyways just wish they would get some writers that new how to write a luv story and passion instead of the 3 dead beats of Brad, Lucas and Felix(I wish they would get felix out of lucas and brad orbit I do kinda like felix but the others can be gone back to where they came from imo.
LOL
YES ! woof!
I am through the roof ecstatic for Jeffrey Vincent Parise.
Carlos, shined with the big dogs (Ava, Julian, AJ, Patrick ) etc….
made the day players move…. elevated their game on ; Sabrina, Felix, Liz….
Enigmatic is my word for this guy. aside, from HOT, sexual, dare I , whew! YES
welcome home… you swarthy, masculine, innuendo, bring your A game… as you have… and gloves on… match, with ease, your spar…..
I love Carlos…. with “ALL” the influx and character overload… and lack of screen times…
JVP’ Carlos is a standout… I hope he’s back for more than a revenge… and if it doesn’t seem like a go with Sabrina….. pair him with Ava… there was fire… passion… ALIVE pairing
just keep jim
heck: also pair him with Nina’ nurse…. and, with Nina
he’s a gamer… with motive
his own stuff is celebrate
perhaps…. he’d even bring Carly back to life
and thats a big do
and he’s got it
I also noticed that undeniable chemistry with Ava, Patrick! Tell me something didn’t transpire between those two in the past!!!! Both of them need to quit playing with the youngsters and get down to a real adult relationship. Oh, and I’m glad you enjoyed the “Girl Scout” (and then some) comment! : )
Glad to have Carlos back. The show needs more auxiliary characters to interact with the regulars.
Oh, I must add…not being able to conceive during menopause is a fallacy…..WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. Sometimes, it is the easiest time to get pregnant because the female hormones are all haywire, meaning, pregnancy may occur when least expected. Do your homework, writers.
Of course, there are late in life babies, CeeCee, but in Nina’s case, I’m thinking it’s “TOO late in life!!!!” LOL. Also, now I wonder if her crazy mood swings will be blamed on “the change????” (And what about all of her “Walter Mitty-esque” fantasies?) Quite frankly, no matter what they dream up for this lunatic, it won’t make her any more entertaining or bearable. Her love scenes with Silas are revolting! Those two are simply unbelievable and mismatched as a couple! The only time that MS is even mildly amusing is in her dealings with Franco, Dr. O. and now Britt, who should be feeling mighty pleased that her mother actually is the saner of the two Westbourne sisters!!!! (Hope she compares notes with Mutta concerning this loose cannon of a relative! Should prove comical, to say the least…..)
Oh, I agree. I don’t FEEL the connection between these two. But, I can’t get into Silas’ love life. He grosses me out too. The only time I appreciated this actor was on OLTL, paired with Melissa Archer. He does not do it for me anymore. Go figure! Lol.
I had posted yesterday that there will be another stolen embryo or recycled baby story. …sigh…I think Nina’s twisted brain is working overtime…as soon as Britt admitted having stolen an embryo, I could see Nina’s wheels turning….as you can see, my post was eaten by that naughty, insidious, invisible monster that lurks behind this screen waiting to pounce…lol
I love Michael Easton. Of course we don’t really know these actors but whenever I’ve read his posts on Facebook he always come across as genuine. I also love how creative he is…as many of you probably know he’s written a a graphic novel, Soul Stealer, which I think is a trilogy. Supposed to be stunning; hope to read it.
But I agree with you CeeCee. Sorta. I found him completely hot on OLTL…his looks, his attitude, his smirk…I think losing OLTL really hit him emotionally. I think a lot of the actors were blindsided. He had his baby to think about, OLTL online was on again/off again…and then he got the offer for GH, moved out there, etc.
When he appeared on GH I was thrilled. But he got progressively thinner. He just looked wiped out and haggard. Still love this guy…and I actually think he’s gained some weight back and is starting to look more like his old self. What I REALLY think he needs is Robert Woods (Bo Buchanan)! Seems all the OLTLers love Woods…including Michael. They should bring Woods over to GH…I think John/Silas would be reborn….
Silas :
“…Those two are simply unbelievable and mismatched as a couple! ”
from the very start… it was clear.
@Becca… I wholeheartedly agree with you… ME’ sincerity and genuine manner is to be acknowledged…. he seems to be good natured and doesn’t take his STAR turns personally
I do think… and if it’s true… he’s putting on weight… it’d do wonders for him…
I don’t know… this is one of those times… when you want the storyline to work… as one becomes attached to the actors
i have praised ME work… as the last of the three amigos to ecking out a part of GH . they need to get him back working… seriously at the hospital… and immerse him in work…. so as to distract from ALL the Nina/Sam lovelorn
it’s too bad that Rafe is gone… as that was a welcome respite and turn for Silas to show the audience more layers…. work and rafe is what Silas needs right now
@rebecca1….Count me in as a Michael Easton fan, too. Although I did not watch him on OLTL, I enjoyed his McBain on GH, as well as his Caleb on Port Charles. Both times he was wonderful with KM and I continued to like them together as Sam and Silas….I saw plenty of chemistry there, even if others did not. But this latest coupling with MS is an absolute disaster….ME looks completely bored and disconnected, and who can blame him? The love scenes are laughable….Nina is about as sexy as a box of rocks and Silas is coming off as totally thick in terms of recognizing that his spouse is an utter nutjob! He is far too cool and smart to be fooled by such a transparent dog and pony show.
I can’t blame your assumption of Michelle Stafford being “as sexy as a box of rocks” . I see it myself. I really believe that ME and MS do not fit…they are definitely disconnected. But, I can tell you, as I am sure other MS fans can, that Michelle was your stereotypical sex-pot on Y&R . She was the absolute Cerces…siren, femme fatale, and all that stuff. The clothes Nina wears do not do Michelle justice. She has a body and legs to die for….my husband’s words. She is almost 50… She looks fantastic. I hope that as soon as she is given her ‘walking’ shoes, her wardrobe will improve. What’s with the Pollyanna blouses and polyester pants?
@Patrick…
And I agree with you. I was not happy when they killed off Rafe. First, he was evolving (in the little airplay they gave him.) They could have made him a very interesting character: troubled, lost kid…unrequited love…mixed up with the wrong kids…drugs…crime…redemption. New loves…taken under the wing of let’s say…Nathan? (who was also a bit lost when his sister “died..) I don’t know. I just liked Rafe…and he was soooo much better looking when he lost that funky do they had him in for most of his GH time.
And, as you said, it would have been great to see him and Silas bond. They could have had a great father/son relationship since both were emotionally lost for so long. Not a good creative move on the writers to off this character.
I’m still hoping Victor faked Rafe’s death and has him on ice too! LOL…
Shay would you please write something with which I disagree?
I find myself agreeing with you far too often,
I liked Rafe too and found his character was drawn from point A to point Z and we never saw how he got there.
This is the writing dynamic which has helped me over come my thirty year addiction to GH.
To Harry, Patrick and rebecca1….You are so right in your disdain of the decision to kill that sweet boy, Rafe. His character was used and abused for his far-too-brief time on the GH canvas….he was never given anything of real substance to make him relevant once his mother was killed…he simply meandered from one lame plot to another in search of meaning. When the time came to select a sacrificial lamb (aka “fall guy”) to eliminate “Gabe the Babe” he seemingly was chosen at random, probably to save the writers from having to find a creative solution of what next to do with him. For a final indignity, they couldn’t even provide the poor kid with a decent, original demise….it were as if they just recycled the “Trey” death scenario from some seasons back and tossed in a besmirched reputation for good measure.
@Harry…errrrrrr..I think Rafe was mentioned and mourned by Patrick and myself…so I think you were agreeing with us! Hahahahah…yeah, that’s petty and picky. But true!
@Shay…hope this doesn’t come out as a double post. Wrote a whole response…apparently in invisible ink so here I go…again:
I didn’t realize you hadn’t been a OLTL viewer. Great soap; was very disappointed when it was oh-so ABRUPTLY, mi scusi…I’m still a tad ticked off…ripped from our screens (and other world!) Michael as McBain was the silent but strong guy…hurt emotionally when he witnessed the murder of his much-loved fiance, devastated by the death of his police officer father. But he was the consummate cop…in the good sense. Honest, a truth seeker. He was as a romantic lead…loyal, protective but withdrawn. When he loved you felt it. If he was a friend you knew it. His manner the same…quiet, subdued, sarcastic, but somehow charming and sexy. Great character and as ME said on one of his posts…he too was sad to see the character go and walk in McBain’s shoes for the last time. Rather poignant…
rebecca1….I watched OLTL back in the days of the Buchanan Troika ruling the roost, when the show was intended to be a northern version of Dallas….long before Todd, Blair, Starr, McBain, etc. were even a glint in Agnes Nixon’s eye. I grew tired of it, and eventually gravitated toward other soaps in that timeslot. But I have followed Michael Easton since his early beginnings as Tanner Scofield on DOOL and in many primetime guest roles, not to mention his fantastic leading man turn in Stephen J. Cannell’s “Two” where he played Cain and Abel type twins….it was a great treat, however, it sadly lasted for but the one season. I also very much enjoyed ME in his multi-character performances in Port Charles, so I was totally cool with the fact that he turned up on GH in the form of John McBain. For me, it has always been a given that he is capable of providing compelling portrayals. In other words, yeah, I like him! (I’m also impressed with his writing credentials…..) Furthermore, I do not consider his trademark understated manner to be a problem, nor do I mind his less than enthusiastic method of expressing himself. (I felt he could convey his growing love and chemistry with Sam just fine!) My issue is with his total lack of credibility as a man who was once besotted with an oft-described magnanimous, ethereal creature called “Nina,” when MS is nothing of the sort…..no matter how mightily ME tries, he cannot convincingly pull off the gargantuan feat of making us believe he ever loved this hideously flawed, unappealing shrew of a woman. At best, he now seems simply a man resigned to his current fate of playing the role of the dutiful husband, conjugal activities included.
Shay. I agree. But he can’t convince us because he hasn’t convinced himself. His feelings for Sam were too new and fresh for him to feel anything other than gratitude, confusion, nostalgia and guilt toward Nina. And a sense of responsibility. His nephew died, Sam broke up with him, he’s been drugged…the man is just going through the motions. And that’s how he comes across to me.
Time will tell if he actually starts falling in love with her again…or wizens up to her wacktitude!
As for Michelle Stafford, I was unfamiliar with her work before this. She got accolades from her fans. I don’t know…she seems like a caricature of a soap actress. I feel like after every huge smile or evil look there should be a “duh duh duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh” musical pause. Sooooo over the top, even for the role she’s supposed to be playing. I think duplicitous characters are interesting/fun…i think zany ala James Franco was great…but she just grates on me.
I’m willing to give her more of a chance. I think if/when her brain cells start lining up, or she has more vulnerable real moments, I could change my mind. Right now I just want to set up a fund for her acting lessons.
I can’t disagree with your assessment of the languid Dr.Clay, rebecca1….he definitely is projecting a certain weariness that has come with those years of bearing guilt for whatever parts of Nina’s tragedy he feels responsible…that, in tandem with all the other ordeals he has experienced over the past year have come to fore and caught up with him in one walloping emotional maelstrom. I just hope he discovers a means to recapture his bearings soon and refuses to be manipulated any further by that whack-job of a wife to whom he’s currently tied down. I also concur with your description of Nina as a “caricature.” MS’s portrayal is simply just too predictable….it’s waaay over-the-top, very contrived and oft-times campy, particularly when she repeatedly utilizes the trademark intense glares/ dramatic gestures or those gratuitous, self-satisfied flashes of her pearly choppers…they’re just soooo expected now, that they carry no emphasis whatsoever. My immense impatience with her now all-too-familiar dramatic flourishes are past complete.
Let Carlos & Sabrinnnnnna ride off into the sunset together !!!
yah!!
Sabrina with a killer mobster/Carlos!! 🙂
(much better than being stuck with lackluster Patrick)
Now, that’s good soap stuff!! the meek and the killer.. I like that!
Looking forward to his return. I think his character could be one of the most interesting of 2014.
I like him and am glad to see him back probably because he’s one of the few newbies who hasn’t been ruined by being shoved down our throats as a cartoon from the start.
The age difference between JVP and TC is noticeable but I find it a lot less glaring than the god awful JT as Prince Charming in Sabrina’s very childish Cinderella/Evil Witch fantasies while all Patrick was thinking was “babysitter.”
Good start with Carlos and maturing Sabrina into a more believable character. It wouldn’t hurt the show to cut back on the camp and give viewers some more relatable characters.
Great to see Carlos back.
I am soo happy to see him back. I would love to see him paired with Sabrina finally, and then I want him to go after Ava once and for all.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
