Chandra Wilson Returns To GH For The Nurses’ Ball
Grey’s Anatomy favorite, Chandra Wilson is checking back in for a guest appearance on General Hospital, but with a twist. She won’t be reprising either of the roles she played before on the ABC daytime drama series.
Look for Wilson, who plays Dr. Miranda Bailey on ‘Grey’s’, to arrive for the annual GH Nurses’ Ball when she appears on the upcoming May 17th episode.
In it, she will take on the role of Sydney Val Jean, the east coast fashion editor at Crimson magazine who will appear alongside editor-in-chief Nina Clay-Cassadine (Michelle Stafford) on the Nurses’ Ball red carpet. Look for those two to go at in their commentary!
Previously, Wilson’s Port Charles stints have included roles as s one of Kevin’s patients, then as a marriage and family therapist.
PEOPLE.com first reported the news. ‘Grey’s’ literally films next door to GH on the production lot in Los Angeles.
So what do you think of Wilson playing character number 3 on GH? Comment below.
I think she’s great and its now her “thing” to appear on GH as different characters, maybe one year all her characters can appear in one episode.
I dont really look forward to The Nurses Balls anymore..there are a few rare good moments but most in recent years seem more like Wrecking Balls to me…and doesnt Oscar die after he performs at the ball???
Amen, Jimh! “Wrecking Ball” is a very apt description of this over-hyped non-event which hasn’t been worth watching since the 50th anniversary celebration. Even that one was nothing to write home about—-storyline-wise—but at least it featured many of GH’s best characters from the past, which made it memorable. Since then, this yearly debacle has been nothing but a highly-amateurish mess that has failed to utilize the show’s most talented performer, bar none….Kathleen Gati’s hilarious Dr. O.! Put that spectacular crazy lady back in the NB spotlight where she belongs!!!!
Yes…KG needs to be a regular…
She certainly does, Jimh! Dr. O. remains the most creative and memorable character to come out of GH’s last five or six years, and as such, should be treated as the true treasure that she is in the uber-capable hands of Kathleen Gati! Liesl’s NB appearances are still some of the most unforgettable moments that perennial event has ever seen, and why she has not been afforded the opportunity to “crash” the stage each and every year in her own inimitable fashion is beyond me! Her cool and cunning machinations in order to always end up in the spotlight should have become one of the show’s “traditions!” I honestly cannot understand why providing this colorful character her well-deserved 15 or so minutes of fame once a year is such a difficult proposition! Instead, it seems that “stunt casting” always wins the day! Thanks, but no thanks!!!! Bring back that magnificent showstopper Obrecht for an encore NB performance!
I love Chandra and appreciate that she loves the soaps! I also think it’s kind of funny that she’s been on GH three times as three different characters. Will there be a fourth? And will she set some sort of record in due course? Stay tuned.
I have never seen nor heard of Chandra Wilson..
so nothing here.. lol
su…i have heard of her and she has been on the show before…but i still cant recall her but im old!!!
Jimh,and suOOO too,
Have been watching Grey’s Anatomy for years now. Thurs.nights. Try it, you’ll like it. I have to turn away during the O.R scenes though. I don’t like all the blood and guts. The personal SLs are really good, ongoing like a Soap.
I dont watch shows with blood and guts…the only things i watch at night are repeats of Everybody Loves Raymond and King Of Queens and very few other shows
Jimh
I watch those too. Never get tired of them, no matter how many times I’ve seen them.
I wish the powers that be would spend the money they spend on stunt casting to make the Nurses Ball look like there are more than 12 people in attendance. Also…now is it mandatory that every action packed climax takes place on the same bridge with the same lower level for a pregnant damsel in distress? I am loving the writing on GH right now though! I don’t like all of the stories…but these writers are masters at layering stories and characters in slowly…and then weaving them into umbrella stories. I like the cult story! Its dark and disturbing…but its bracing and different and has real suspense and that What Next quality? I love when stories zag when you’re only expecting a zig. The actor playing Shiloh is just fearless and plays it so harmless and yet SO creepy too!! When he took his shirt off so randomly the other day…I laughed out loud at his brazen audacity and his bold arrogance! I know he is not really a long term viable character…and I think a Who Killed Shiloh story would I want to see her vent her rage on him…and lay some smackdown…but if she murders him then all her growth h would have been for nothing. awesome because pretty much the whole cast has motive!! Shiloh is not a murderer…but I think it would be twisted coolness if Shiloh and Ryan hooked up during the Nurses Ball or during May Sweeps. What if Shiloh hid or housed Ryan for some nefarious reason? We know Ryan will be back for one last hurrah…but I hope they don’t make it as predictable as having Ava kill him. I want to see Ava torture him!_ I want to see her vent her rage and unleash some smackdown on him! But to have her murder him just negates all the growth and progress she has made as a character. And I love Ava having friends! Laura and Ava should definitely become besties! Ava needs that anchor of good friendships. Its cool that Laura and Scotty are in this story!
I love the “Chief” at Grey Sloan Memorial . She can play any part she wants to.

GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Serena Sets Her Sights on Michael; Jason’s Emotional Exit from the Mob

This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”
Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.

Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.
Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
