DAYS Ben and Ciara Finally Share A Kiss! Are #Cin The Hottest Duo On Daytime?

By Michael Fairman

It finally happened this week on Days of our Lives!  Former serial killer, Ben Weston (Rob Scott Wilson) and the daughter of the police commissioner, Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal), shared a passionate and sweet lip-lock.

Now with it clear that Ciara has given in to her feelings for Ben, by first admitting them to herself, and then to Ben, the road to happiness is sure not to be easy for this striking duo, as everybody wants the young woman away from this bad boy.

But in true soap opera tradition, we tend to root for the couple who overcome every obstacle to be together.  Who doesn’t love the guy from the wrong side of the tracks and the rich girl storylines on daytime?  This is certainly a very big twist on that, given Ben’s horrific past, but it’s working with the television audience, and Rob and Victoria’s portrayal has sky-rocketed them to even more popularity.

This week, in front of the Brady Pub, and in key scenes, Ciara thinks she’s too broken to be loved after her mess with Tripp (Lucas Adams). Ben reminds her she should never apologize for who she is. He then kisses her, and she drops her motorcycle helmet.

So, what do you think of #Cin? Are they set to become one of the most memorable duos in soaps?  Let us know via the comment section below, and make sure to check out our interview with Rob and Victoria from Day of Days 2018 from earlier this month, as well.

YES – this tantalizing STIR ALL the senses ; are

I pegged from the very start.. Cierra Alice without doubt is the reawakening of Erika Kane

period

the chemistry with Rob Scot Wilson – AND – Victoria Konefal

DANG – if ever a couple LOOK GOOD together AND act their arse off… these two do

which should sting and embarrass Frank Valentini for his imagination, has none… of what he thinks daytime is. he certainly will never bring Michael Easton and Finola Hughes alive.. DOA and upchuck is – barf bag again with Sonny and Carly @GH… show over their

from the get go.. these two reeled Tennessee Williams and just upped the ante on NEWBIE beginnings… this is adult; this is millennial; this is serial recipe

@Ron Carlivati… PLEASE give Tripp a solid good storyline… get him involved with step mom Kayla.. ANd I can rest easy… if he’s featured getting in the way … he’s bigger than that. Unless … she’s preggers already.

GOOD STUFF @DAYS

Love Ben & Ciara, Hope needs to get off her High Horse and start taking care of Real Cases!! Don’t like who she has become. Personally a lot of Stories on Days are Stupid & I think Ron is Ruining Days Of Our Lives!! This was a number one show for many years now we are in Last place!!

Ridiculous pairing. Another lame attempt from ReRon to turn a serial killer into some sort of romantic lead character. He failed miserably with Frodd “Baldwin” on GH, and this will also fail.

Bo Brady is not in Hell, but I imagine right now he’s not happy about his little girl being anywhere near this psycho murderer. If he was here, I’d definitely give him a weekend pass to Salem to sort this business out. Hope sure as Hell isn’t going to do it with Rafe holding her back. (Rafe should be paying more attention to his demented little sister anyway)

I think Days is dicing with death with this pairing!

Yes they are good actors, yes they work well together, yes they’re good looking and some people drool over them …

But so what? Good drama begins with a great script, and far from being great scripting, this is an abandonment of sanity! It’s represents the dawn of and Trumpian and Brexitian storytelling on Days, where facts don’t matter, and its all just a game to see what they can get away with!

Can they get away with it? Can they?! The ratings went DOWN when they debuted!

He murdered a bunch of people? Let’s have the young female protagonist not give a damn about his victims losing their lives in terror, their rotting corpses, and their (her!) bereft families, and have her touched by his sensitivity, and be outraged if anyone should ever mention the the the the murders!

What value the characters on Days? What value is their storytelling world, their show? Clearly not as valuable as oh Ben Weston!

I hope Days realize that for many valuable viewers this don’t-mind-the-elephant-in-the-room-ism that Days has embraced is a turn off before it is too late.

EVERYONE knows scripts are the foundation of everything, which is why this is Trumpian and Brexitian, because Days have abandoned principled scripting and are gambling the house on a game of can-we-get-away-with-it?!!

I no longer watch DOOl; but, I have to say, these two look as though they have got chemistry! Today, there are VERY few daytime couples that have heat and chemistry! My old-time favorites are Frisco and Felicia and Sonny and Brenda. I couldn’t wait to tune-in back then!

Any couple with Robert is going to be scorching. This guy has it all…no wonder Y&R didn’t grab him. They prefer colorless, talentless, and/or obnoxious actors/characters. So glad Ben is being redeemed.

Noooooo…..just NO!

Don’t fight the temptation, Jillie, give in to Cin.

I will never accept a female falling in love with a serial killer unless she is just as deranged as he is!

Yesssss…. just yes!

I prefer Tripp with Ciara over Ben. Ben killed Ciaras cousin Will( allegedly)and tormented Abby and murdered two young women one Rafes sister and her cousin JJ s girlfriend aswell as her other cousin Erics girlfriend.
The chemistry is hot yes but Ben hits to close to home and Ciara falling for someone whos caused her family so much pain is plain sick and twisted.
Tripp also has his own demons and he stood by Ciara when she was scared to make love. Tripp and Ciara were so sweet together. Ciara has no loyalty to Ben or her family.

That’s life! Get over it.

Ciara can’t help it that Ben was the one who found her, took care of her and listened to her, Damien.

“From the wrong side of the tracks”? So, that’s how we are to see Ben, a stone-cold killer? Come on!
DAYS is going down the same rabbit hole that swallowed up GH when TPTB (and the writers?) “fell in love” with all the killers, wrote them into a corner then “fell in love” with all the killer characters like Sonny, Jason, Ava, etc.
No where to go but down, literally! Goodby, Days. See you (maybe) when you get over the madness. PS And bring back “Patch,” soon. Stephen Nichols, we miss you.

I agree – no where to go but down!

Days is gas-lighting the viewers, over and over, and has been doing so from the beginning of this story.

In the serial killer arc Ben wasn’t sick, rather he planned and executed the pre-meditated murders of two women too FRAME A GUY he was jealous of: cold, rational, planned murders. Then he killed his friend and his fiancée’s midwife to prevent his discovery: two more rational and cold-blooded murders! And the guy he framed by murdering people nearly died because of his actions!

LOL! Days wanted to turn away from the darkness of the Griffley Daysaster, and now they’re gaslighting their own viewers!!

And just to prove that Days know exactly what they are doing, they have been simultaneously running another story where one character is actually gaslighting one of Ben’s surviving victims! FFS Days! Get a grip!

Hell in a handbasket is the likely trajectory for ratings if they keep this nonsense up!

I agree.

Ciara and Ben (Cin/Ciara and The Serial Killer) is DAYS best new duo in decades!!

WARNING: People should steer clear of serial killers and under no circumstance should they become romantically involved with a killer.

With that said, this is a soap, an alternate universe to reality. They have incredible chemistry and DAYS would be stupid to ignore it.

Yes, Ben killed three people, four if you count Will, but he changed when Ciara entered his life. She was a wreck, literally and figuratively. Ben was responsible for her care and welfare which helped him overcome his demons. He doesn’t want to hurt anyone and Ciara will help him succeed.

Now, it may be revealed that Ben did indeed start the fire which put Ciara’s life in jeopardy, but he was off his meds and that was in the beginning of their relationship.

DAYS has me right where they want me, wanting a CINful story!

They’re great together and I’m proud to be a Cinner!!

They do have chemistry; however, I still don’t believe that Ben started the fire.

Ciara sure looked hot in that burning cabin…Ciara and Ben have a killer romance-lol

Hey, Jimmy, It’s hard to determine if some viewers are hot and bothered or burning mad. If they want reality, they shouldn’t watch TV. At least the angry viewers reality is represented by characters on DAYS who are against Ciara being with Ben. Would they rather have Ciara help Ben or go on a murder spree with him?

they could rob banks together…the next bonnie and clyde…lol

I like Rob. He is a good actor and good looking. I like Ben and Ciara together.

Me to they make a great couple.I cannot stand Tripp

I agree on all points.

I like Victoria. She is a good actress and good looking. I like Ciara and Ben together.

Much better than the previous Ciara.

Being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, I’d be every bit as crazy as Hope is, but its a soap, and I’m enjoying every minute of these two beautiful young people, falling in love, against all odds. One can only hope that Ben is cured, with no relapses, but we know that can change on a whim of some nutty writer.

Yeah going to work for Dimera is really going to cure (he was never sick just a stone cold killer) and redeem him. Right.

The chemistry has won me over. Major kudos to Rob Wilson and Victoria Konefal. Not many couples have the type of old school chemistry that is coming thorough loud and clear with these two. I’m all for their pairing but I’m not crazy about the writing so far, a lot of missed beats. It seems their airtime is finally picking up so I’m hopeful, but still a bit skeptical this writing team can see this through.

Rosie O’Donnell Says She Will Return to ‘The View’ During its Season 30

Published

By

Rosie O'Donnell

Rosie O’Donnell revealed that she plans to head back to a seat at the table of ABC’s morning talk show The View.

The announcement came during Monday’s episode of The Tangle Podcast where she shared she will participate in “in whatever way they want” her or “just as a guest” for its upcoming 30th season.

The View’s season 30 will kick-off this fall in September. O’Donnell explained, “They’re bringing back all the hosts, I think. And, you know, I’m pretty proud of that show, what it’s become and how it really speaks to the people and to politics.”

Photo: ABC

ROSIE ON HER PREVIOUS GO-ROUNDS ON THE VIEW

As fans of The View know, O’Donnell famously had two different one-year stints on the talk show in 2007 and again in 2014- 2015. She often feuded with then co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck.

However, during her discussion with host, Kyle Ridley on The Tangle Podcast, O’Donnell also noted she often had tense moments with longtime moderator and anchor, Whoopi Goldberg.

O’Donnell also expressed, “Many, many people got the short end of the stick there. It was, you know, it was a factory where people were being churned in and out and their tenuous security, nobody got to be calm. It also was a show at the time that was run by a man. A show created by a woman, for women, about women, and the man was deciding what we should talk about. And that didn’t sit right with me, you know.”

Back in 2023, Brooke Shields had asked Rosie on her podcast, Now What? with Brooke Shields, about how she felt on her two stints at The View and all the controversy that surrounded it. Rosie at that time, stated, “I know this, it’s not the best use of my talent to get in a show where I have to argue and defend basic principles of humanity and kindness. It was not something I’d ever do again.”

You can check out the clip with Rosie and Kyle Ridley discussing her return to The View in some form for its upcoming 30th season below.

Then weigh-in: Would you be excited to see Rosie, even for a one-day or a week guest stint on the upcoming celebratory season of The View, or not so much? Let us know via the comment section.

Television Academy and NATAS Open Reunification Talks After Split Almost 50 Years Ago

Published

on

By

Emmys

In what could prove to be a massive shake-up ahead, both the TV Academy (ATAS), who presides over the Primetime Emmys, and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), who preside over the Daytime Emmys, are in exploratory reunification discussions to merge the two organizations into one.

Both sides received an overwhelming vote and support from their boards to evaluate what a unified Academy could look like. However there is no formal calendar at this juncture for the discussions. In addition, because of the ongoing unification talks that should occur, the TV Academy board has voted to extend all current sitting Governors’ terms by one year so they can see the process through.

Boards at both organizations voted overwhelmingly to evaluate what a unified Academy could make possible: a strong vision for the Academy’s future, more effective thought leadership for the industry, broader service and support for members coast-to-coast, and new momentum and opportunities across the full complement of national Emmy competitions.

Photos: ATAS/NATAS

AFTER NEARLY 50 YEARS, CAN THE EMMYS BE UNDER ONE BANNER?

In a joint statement, ATAS and NATAS shared, “Television remains the most powerful medium we have to shape culture and prompt conversations that define us—no matter the size of the screen, With the business of television undergoing such a monumental transformation, this is the right moment to explore a reunification of our Academies, providing our members and our industry with a bolder voice advocating for them and a stronger partner to navigate the future with them.”

If the reunification talks continue, this would be the first time since the two Emmy organizations split back on June 30, 1977 that they have tried to come together, all of this after almost three decades of often uneasy and strained tension between the two.

The most recent joint change came in 2022 when a move of the game show categories went from NATAS to ATAS’ and now are in the Primetime Emmys.

Deadline notes that a unification of the two television academies who overall preside over nighttime and daytime programming would be similar how SAG and AFTRA used to represent performers from completely different dayparts of work.

Could the Daytime Emmys finally see some love in primetime and have their major categories televised as part of the annual kudofest every September? Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony will take place live on Monday, September 14th starting at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT and air on NBC and stream on Peacock emanating from the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles. While, the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards will take place on Friday, October 30, time to be announced, live from the Hollywood Palladium and will be streamed on watchtheemmys.tv

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) is a service organization dedicated to the advancement of the arts and sciences of television and the promotion of creative leadership for artistic, educational and technical achievements within the television industry. It recognizes excellence in television with the coveted Emmy Awards for News & Documentary, Sports, Daytime and Children’s & Family programming, as well as achievements in television Technology & Engineering.

The Television Academy (ATAS) strives to shape and advance the dynamic television landscape; cultivate a diverse, inclusive and accessible professional community; and advocate for the television industry while capturing the spirit of a new generation of content creators and industry professionals. Through innovative programs, publications and events, the Academy and its Foundation foster and empower storytellers. The Academy also celebrates those who excel in the industry recognizing their achievements through awards and accolades, including the renowned Emmy Award. Membership in the Academy is open to working professionals in the television industry.

So, would you like to see the Primetime Emmy and the Daytime Emmys fold into one show if the two unions reached a unification arrangement? Do you hope that after almost 50 years, the two organizations can finally make some serious headway? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
