‘Heated Rivalry’ Star Franco LoPresti Opens Up About ‘Days of our Lives’ Debut as Dante Vitali

Next week on Monday, September 14 will mark the first appearance in Salem of Franco LoPresti in his new Days of our Lives role of Dante Vitali.
Heated Rivalry fans now LoPresti very well from his part as hockey player Cliff Marleau in the series first season. (No word yet if Cliff appears in season 2).
Now in a conversation with TV Insider, DAYS fans will learn that LoPresti is on the soap for a limited run. No timetable was given.

When LoPresti does burst onto the scene come Monday, Dante makes quite the impact as Franco LoPresti explains. It seems that viewers will first see him in scenes in Monte Carlo at a poker table with none other than Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) and Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier). However, Dante will come to Salem to talk to the Brady family about his supposed fiancée Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney).
Franco shared, “Dante was born and grew up in Italy and educated at this pretty top-tier English boarding school. He then went on to build his own dynasty in finance, all the while trying to distance himself from the Vitali name (as viewers know Tamara Braun played his cousin Ava Vitali).”
“But at the core of Dante, there’s definitely an old-school quality to him”, continued LoPresti. “He’s super passionate, he’s sincere and incredibly generous, but he’s also someone that you probably shouldn’t underestimate. Loyalty is something that means a lot to him. As Dante enters Salem, I think the audience will get to slowly peel back those layers and discover what’s really driving him. So, I’m excited for Days fans to go on that ride with Dante.”

As it turns out, LoPresti taped his episodes of DAYS starting back in November 2025 which happened to be weeks before Heated Rivalry became a smash hit.
Franco recalled, “It’s so funny because I thought my episodes would air in a month (on Days of our Lives). But I found out it was nine to 10 months and I was like, ‘I gotta wait that long?!’ So, I’ve been biting my nails, trying not to think about it, and I think it’s actually kind of helped because now it’s here and it’s all coming at me from all different angles. I’m nervous. I’m excited, and I just can’t wait to see it all come together. It’s one of the best jobs I’ve ever had for sure.”
In his personal life, Franco just had his first child with wife, actress Emily Alatalo, just a weeks ago on August 23rd when they welcomed their daughter, Stella into the world.
So, looking forward to seeing Franco LoPresti’s debut come Monday? What do you think about the fact that it’s being reported as a limited run? Do you think Dante and Sami have a chance on-screen or off-screen to be a happy couple? What do you really think brings Dante to Salem sans Sami? In a metaphor for the start of the school year and their upcoming anniversary in November, Days of our Lives revealed its “Class of Season 62,” with a very clever yearbook montage on their social media handles, welcoming new cast members, while paying respect to the veterans and “class”-iying the other characters in Salem.

‘Days of our Lives’ Head Writers Give Fall 2026 Preview: Marlena and Stefano’s Chess Mystery, The Arrivals of Dante and Sydney, Romance Drama for Sarah and Others

As summer comes to a close with Labor Day weekend, the former Days of our Lives co-head writing duo of Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford have given their annual fall season preview in episodes taped some 10-11 months ago.
As previously reported this past July, Ryan Quan returned to Days of our Lives and is now co-head writing the show with Ford, while Cwikly is now a consultant. The new co-head writing teams stories will not be seen till late spring/early summer 2027.
So for now, the stories pick up from where we left off with Cwikly and Ford promising via TV Insider, “Fall in Salem is full of twists and turns and secrets and surprises. Dots connect in unexpected ways as seemingly unrelated threads converge.”

CHECKMATE?
In one of the top mystery’s, Marlena is still having troubling memories and she will have another one on the Monday, September 7 episode. Meanwhile, her daughter Belle (Martha Madison) has gotten very close to Chad DiMera (Conner Floyd) and as pictured here, the two smooch while in Italy searching for answers to the chess set that Stefano DiMera gifted th the late John Black and Marlena (Deidre Hall) that has some significance.
The head scribes share, “The (chess board) mystery and its fallout are central to the fall stories. Chad and Belle follow the clues to a discovery that changes both of their families, and Salem, forever. Marlena worries that their investigation/the chess set may be a Pandora’s box that has been opened. And she is right…”
Newcomers are also the order of the day for Cwikly and Ford, this fall. We have already seen the debut as Brandon Butler as Mason Whitfield, and next week you can add as previously reported Sydney Malakeh on the Thursday September 1o episode as Sydney DiMera, followed by the the Monday, September 14 arrival of Franco LoPresti as Dante Vitali.

Photo: Corday Productions
Paula and Jeanne Marie expressed on the incoming Dante, “The arrival of a stranger who will set the whole town on its ear. The character has several strong ties to the current canvas and impacts many storylines.” What will Dante be up to? We know Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) had mentioned in 2025 she got engaged to the man, but that was off-screen.
LOVE THE ONE YOU’RE WITH OR THE ONE YOU WANT?
In the romance department, the triangle between Brady/Sarah/Xander heats up with a very conflicted Sarah (Linsey Godfrey). The head writers reveal, “When Sarah faces attacks personally and professionally, Xander (Paul Telfer) and Brady (Eric Martsolf) work together to help and protect her. Sarah’s new love for Brady is challenged by her lingering love for Xander. Xander risks everything for Sarah.”
In addition look for, “Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) and Philip (John-Paul Lavoiser) to draw closer as he tries to save the family company and home.”
Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) will also be returning at some point this fall and she won’t be alone. Who might she bring with her? And from the looks of the Peacock promo for next week’s DAYS, someone is wearing Stefano’s ring around their finger, but who … and how does it all tie in this fall?
So, what do you think about some of the highlights coming up this fall on Days of our Lives per the series head writers? Does anything float your boat or pique your interest? If so, what? Let us know via the comment section. But first, check out the action next week on DAYS in the promo entitled “Bag of Tricks” below.

Those recaps are not enough. WATCH THE SHOWS! They were so good and so worth it!
KUDOS to the writers who wrote a brilliant umbrella storyline that has had so many great twists and turns that has kept it fresh and interesting, and got nearly every character on canvas involved.
MAJOR kudos to Chandler, Freddie, Camilla, James, Ali, Lauren, Derek (Jenson..so creepy!), Sean (Vargas) and most especially Blake for kicking oh so much ass in this.
Blake is such an extraordinary talent!
Ditto! Salem’ites!
There’s so much to say….
ie: the whole cast is involved.
Blake is “thee” extraordinary….
i suggested a storyline a long time back where Will saves Nicks life and as a result Nick changes into a better person…now i hope it becomes 100% true…Nick apologizing to Will and Sonny, and the foursome of Will, Sonny, Nick and Gabi become great friends who’ll love baby Arianna and try to raise her together…but unfortunately this is a soap so sometime later something will happen and tear that friendship apart…maybe Will getting too close to the baby and Gabi that’ll make Nick and Sonny somewhat jealous and this will cause friction in all their relationships! Days is getting good again and i hope it stays that way. Now they need to fix the absent Bo situation!!!
no veo factible que will y gabi traisionen a sonny que ha dado su vida por will la trama perderia emocion.
Days has been great lately! LOL when Sonny was delivering the baby and said that he had closed his eyes when watching a film on childbirth in health class. A great line delivered by a great actor! Love Freddy!
Freddie is adorable!! I loved his scenes with Justin.
I said it before and I will say it again, when Days wants to they can put on quite the show. I only wish they wouldn’t just do it doing sweep weeks. It would be nice if they spread the wealth around throughout the year, and not just when it benefits them the most. But out of all the soaps on network Days Mays Sweep shows were the best. Can’t wait for Will to wake up and see his daughter.
Days does a great job with wrapping up storylines like “Will’s the Father” ending and now this one. Blake Berris & Chandler Massey are absolutely the most best performers this show has! Freddie and Camila also did a great job.
I don’t want Nick to lose his edge because Blake is great at that but I do hope this brings Will & Nick closer together. I really look forward to the talk Will & Nick have after what Will overheard.
My only wish is that DAYS would have more cliffhanger moments so we don’t have to wait for a sweeps week for something to happen!!!
I see great potential for Vargas & Hope with this storyline also .. anyone else see their chemistry?
Now, if only Days would unload that boring Jen, Daniel, Abby & new icky JJ storyline and I’d be a happy camper once again 🙂
Where are they going with the character of Vargas? I am confused. One minute he was berating Nick and then he was supporting him. Love Cameron, Abby and Chad on my screen. Ej and sami, Kristen and Brady and Stephano and Kate. I am glued to the show except when Daniel and Jennifer are on…and this from me once a Jennifer fan. I am with JJ on this romance…it was too much too contrived and much too soon after Jack.
overall… DAYS is driving on all cylindars…
except, once again…. back to now it’s JJ driving a wedge between “the” two new darlings, supercouple…. gag… “Daniel” and Jenn.
honestly…… Nicole tried.
Chloe tried.
JJ’s trying…. i never once really heard anything good about this pair, from the start.
it’s a shame, really…. I feel for the characters of Hope and Jenn.
I really do like the idea and watching more Hortons… and IMO… Melissa Reeves does have the chops to be a Mother….. not so much in the romace dept…
get a clue writers… find someone else… Daniel? again, and again, and again.
————-
on todays epi… i thought perhaps… it crossed my mind….. what ! ? ! ? about a possible Vargas and Hope ???? seemed like they were testing the waters… he kinda reminds me of a young Peter Blake…. he’s rough, roguish… toughie… reformed bad guy, …. kinda Bo’ish…. OK… give this some thought.
I like Vargas and Hope actually. I think they had some real chemistry and if they hit it off then find out that Vargas has been threatening Nick, there is some storyline potential there. Kristian has been wasted since Peter left and deserves her own storyline!!
Matt Ashford and Jack need to return because as much as they try & try to force feed Daniel & Jen us & throw these stupid obstacles (Nick, Chloe and now that little twit JJ) on us, they’re still dull and I’m not rooting for them. Missy was at her BEST with Matt Ashford always!!!
I like the rest of the show though, well, except Cameron. I think Abby & Chad have more chemistry!
Vargas and Hope would be hot!
I agree with others that I see a Vargas and Hope hook up in the future. The good cop and the not so good ex-con– so much potential for good story telling. Hope really needs a story line. I like Vargas, he seems like a creep, but every once in a while you see the good in him– I think Hope can bring that out in him.
And yes, Jen and Daniel are sooo not right for each other, why do not the writers see that? Don’t they watch their own show? The two actors have no chemistry in real life, which is a must for any good couple to work. I’m still hoping for a Jen and Brady hook up– I saw a flicker of chemistry between them when both were grieving the loss of their significant other after the blast last summer. Daniel could leave town any time and he would not be missed. I want them to bring back Mike Horton to be Salem’s super doctor.
Oooh, Brady & Jen are cute 🙂
Brady is cute. Jenn not so much. She needs to stick to being a mom.
I feel that the storyline for Will and Sonny has been the best so far and now we have baby Arianna Grace added to it. We will see how this couple can become closer and work together with Gabi and Nick to create a support system for this little baby. I would really like to see Will and Sonny grow closer and eventually make a commitment to each other by getting engaged and eventually married. Chandler and Freddie are doing a terrific job in their roles, and deserve all the recognition they are receiving.
