Days Of Our Lives
DAYS New Summer Promo Reveals The Returns of Jay Kenneth Johnson and Louise Sorel
Exciting new storylines, weddings and some bombshell returns will liven up Salem during the summer months according to the new promo for Days of our Lives released over the weekend.
Look for the return of Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan), the debut of Gwen (Emily O’Brien), and the SORAS’d Allie Horton, plus some more familiar faces that people have missed in town.
Back in action will be Jay Kenneth Johnson as Phillip Kiriakis, Louise Sorel resuming her signature role of Vivian Alamain, Bryan Dattilo as Lucas Horton and the one and only Alison Sweeney as Sami.
Then look out for four weddings from Ben and Ciara, Eric and Nicole, Kayla and Justin, Eli and Lani, but who will actually say their “I-do’s”?
It’s a jam-packed summer of original episodes from DAYS; the only soap still delivering new installments to its fans during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Check out the preview below. Then let us know, who are you most excited about seeing back on the canvas via the comment section!
Looking GOOD!!!!
It really is, Jimmy! I’m stoked!
Hi, Jimh! Nice to see you still posting away here at MFTV! Hope you are doing well!!!!!!!
Its all i got to take my mind off things…nice to hear from you!!!
Will Chloe be back? I miss her
I thought I read she is returning.
Chloe is definitely returning!
It is nice to see familiar faces, such as Louise Sorel (who is making her overdue return as Vivian Alamain), Alison Sweeney and Bryan Dattilo. And while I know Jay Kenneth Johnson has had the fanfare for returning to the role of Philip, and I am sure it will be fun to see him in it, I was also hoping to potentially see the return of John-Paul Lavoisier in the role, or even a different actor (a-la Jacob Young [Rick, B&B; ex-JR, AMC et al]). Let’s hope the summer months lives up to the expectations. Also, granted, the post-production still looks better than the soap itself, but there still needs to be some kind of upgrade in production model.
So the pregnant teenage girl is SORAS’d Allie?
I don’t think so. I hope not. I don’t think Allie would give her child away. Sami and Kate wouldn’t allow it. Why is Nicole in the delivery room?
By the looks of the extended promo, Sami and Nicole get into a right because Allie wants to give her baby to Uncle Eric and Nicole, but in the end Wilson will be the parents. Will and Sonny will be dad’s to Will’s Nephew or Niece. Or Allie could have twins that are separated, one going with Eric and Nicole, the other going to Will and Sonny.
I don’t like that story. And why age Allie so much???
I agree—-same old same old. I wish storylines would break away from giving away babies; switching babies; babies dying!! Uffa!!
Another irritant for me is Sarah’s hair—-such weird styles she sports—-same “do” as my six-year-old.
Some things never change. It may seem banal, comparatively speaking; ….what can I say? Give the girl some “adult” flair!!
I did not like Sarah’s hair today (June 2). Other than today, I think it’s been okay.
Hi Celia
Its been a while. Hope all is well with you and your family. I agree with you on both counts, the baby thing and Sarah’s hair. Speaking of hair, Maggie has kept her hair colored and looking pretty nice, during her prison stint. Wonder if she will buy all of her husband’s reasons and excuses for what he’s done as easily as she has Xander’s.
Hi, Miss V,
Good to hear from you……glad all is well.
I moved into my new home a couple of weeks ago—-so, between home-schooling and getting this place together takes up all of my time. I do have help, but I am very “particular”…. everything needs my touch. LOL.
Yes, Maggie has always had beautiful hair—full with a rich texture. Not many women can pride themselves for having such a gorgeously cascading head of hair, even in youth!!
Maggie loves Victor—she has forgiven him before, but this is different—-too personal; involving her grandchild and daughter—too painful to bear.
Yet, it is a soap and TPTB will take it where they want.
What I don’t understand is why both Victor and Xander are not in jail. They committed a heinous crime.
Stay well, my friend❤️
Hi Celia
Glad things are well with you, though hectic. You are right though I never thought about the jail thing with Victor and Xander. There wouldn’t be as much drama as with this payback of Brady’s though. He is getting on my nerves more so lately, than usual. Its too bad he didn’t spend as much energy keeping his new found daughter with him instead of sending her off with mommy dearest. Yes, it was horrible what Victor and Xander did, but Kristen never thought twice about tearing babies out of there mother’s bellies, just because she wanted one. I know a lot of fans are loving Kristen, but I’ve never been one, although I do love the actresses that play her. Hope you are getting some cool breezes in your new home that I hope you are enjoying. We’re getting very warm here, and it’s gotten pretty scary with all the protesting and rioting, happening only a few miles from my home. If you’ve seen any news concerning San Diego and surrounding areas, I am in a small town near S.D where a lot of that was going on. I kind of hold my breath waiting for what’s next.
@Violet! Hello again, lovely lady!…It’s been awhile! Glad to read that you are hanging in there despite the increasing heat and protests/riots in your area…for the record, I’m a fan of neither!!!! (Despite having very strong political convictions, I don’t have a militant soul..I vote by ballot and bank checks…that’s it!!!!) But I did mean to mention that I was just thinking of you!!!! In addition to enjoying a lot of flashback posts regarding our favorite old soaps here at MFTV, I’ve also indulged in a few vintage Dame Maggie movies over the past few days, and they were such a treat! (“Room With A View” and “The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie,” the latter being particularly superb!) In short, it was a true delight seeing our dear Dowager Countess—-as you have previously described to me—at her impossibly slender and fashionably chic best!!! Although she may have been decades younger, that rich, elegant delivery of hers was still as evident as in her Downton drawing room of more recent days…I simply adored it! Alas, that is all I shall write on this specific subject since I don’t desire to slip back into our bad habit of being too off-topic, yet, at the same time, I must mention that I fondly recall all we discussed during our former “chats!” Having said that, I continue to follow your many witty, apropos observations here…they remain amongst my favorites! As for “Days,” which is why we are supposed to be on this thread—LOL!—I am always amazed by how many of the old characters remain on this show…I’ve not watched the soap for 20+years and yet, am extremely familiar with a great number of people when they are discussed! Quite a difference from GH, which has a seemingly endless stream of newbies to endure! Needless to add, I prefer the DOOL soap model!!!! Later, Violet!!! Take care…’twas a true pleasure to post to you once more!
Well, hi Shay!
So nice to hear from you again. Glad you have been enjoying our beloved Dame Maggie. I am still waiting for a new season of Doc Martin. Did you by any chance ever see a series called A Place To Call Home. I enjoyed that so much, and was so let down when it ended.
As for the soaps, I have been more or less enjoying The Nurse’s Ball on GH. I just record so I can just watch the good stuff.I do watch Days, but it has been getting on my nerves and Iam not interested reliving Y&R, so see very little of that. I enjoyed the in-home interviews with The Coopers from GL, and Tom and Margo Hughs from ATWT. SO nice seeing those actors again. My tablet is acting up so I will say so long for now. Please stay well, and don’t be a stranger. I really missed our chats.
I’ve missed our discussions too, Violet, but it’s simply impossible not to go off-topic with you!!! I especially roared at your mention of the “good doctor” since we were taken to task over him the last time he was brought up in conversation…LOL!!! As for the Aussie APTCH, oh my, yes! I watched it all the way through, although I preferred the earlier seasons more than the latter ones, but thought the show finale was wrapped up pretty well in terms of all the characters..I really loved Old Lady Bligh when she was in her battle axe mode, considered Anna a nearly dead ringer ‘50’s version of Ivanka Trump, could never abide the self-righteous Sarah as it was always her way or the highway and found both Doris Collins and Regina Standish to be absolute hoots! (Also, I enjoyed “James” in his subsequent role on “Outlander!”) There really was sooooo much soapy goodness there!! How I wish our domestic soaps were that juicy and fulfilling to view..for me, they have become so bland and basic, that I no longer follow them much except on this website. I guess I’m looking for the glitzy glam escapism like we used to have in both daytime and prime time during such programs’ heydays in our own country. Now I get my fix from foreign vehicles…particularly those which take one back to different times and places…the more glamorous and elegant the eras, the better! However, I still root for the stateside shows to survive and prosper once again and it does do my heart good to see DOOL honoring and respecting so many of its popular longtime characters by including them in their modern form…to think “Doug and Julie” can still be located in Salem, along with assorted DeMeras, Bradys, Hortons and other familiar names and faces I remember from the past is quite amazing! Plus, having Louise Sorel’s lusty lunatic, Vivian Alamain, back in the flesh is the icing on the cake! She truly is too much fun!!! Then again, that’s due to the quality of the actress…she’s never failed to deliver whether it was by day or night! I have often caught Miss Sorel on old crime drama series reruns carried by those retro tv channels, and she’s always been a treat, not to mention a real stunner generally dressed to the nines! I guess some things never change….Later, Violet!
Hi Shay
I almost didn’t wait for your reply. I am so excited. I found this movie, 2015, set in 1973 London with Maggie Smith, called the Lady In The Van. A homeless woman who takes up residence in a man’s driveway for 15 years. Is your mouth watering yet, or perhaps you’ve already seen it?
I recorded it last night, so I cant wait. I hope Michael can overlook our off topic chat, but the truth is , there aren’t any soap topics these days of interest. At my age I hope I can outlast this craziness. Talk to you soon my dear. I have watched its wonderful, as I’d hoped it would be. Can be seen also on Netflix.
Hello! Been there, done that, Vi! Watched this movie based upon real-life people when it was first released! Needless to add, there’s another EXCELLENT performance by our beloved Dame Maggie! I loved her as “The Old Lady in the Van!” Alex Jennings was also superb as playwright, Alan Bennett…in fact, these two absolutely spectacular actors made this story come alive!!! I could go on with many more superlatives, but won’t, other than to say that even in portraying a woman who was down on her luck and living in the most basic, horrible of circumstances—i.e., facing an existence which is the polar opposite of her esteemed Dowager Countess—Miss Smith still managed to imbue her character with the utmost dignity and regal bearing one has come to expect from her! This was actually a very beautiful film..it interwove comedy and pathos in an extremely humane package without being too maudlin or melodramatic…So glad you enjoyed it as much as I did, Violet!!!! Take care…P.S. By the way, just to make this post also appropriately “soapcentric,” I must add that in addition to catching Louise Sorel on many a vintage crime dramas on retro tv, I’ve also recently been treated to appearances by such later daytime grande dames as Marj Dusay, Leslie Charleson, Constance Towers, and Robin Mattson!!! It’s always fun to see these formidable ladies strutting their stuff in their younger years!!! Annnnd….just the other evening, I briefly caught Jeanne Cooper in an episode of “Mannix.” Coincidentally enough, the actor who played Y&R’s “Stuart Brooks” was also featured in a co-starring role!
LOL, Miss V—-Brady? I was never a fan. TPTB need to have him act his age. He’s the perpetual child—every soap has one.
He turns me right OFF!!
This Kristen is inconsequential , as far as I’m concerned. Now, if we were talking about Eileen Davidson? Well, Kristen’s peccadillos pale in comparison to her persona—Simpatica!!
Thankfully, I don’t live in the city—-My newly-built home ( love the smell of a new house) is in Nissequoque ( Long Island, NY), a small village and suburb of Smithtown. While driving into town today, I did notice quiet, peaceful protesting near the only Stop and Shop in town. Peaceful yes; but some of the signs, with which they paraded, were disgusting. What they did not demonstrate in misbehavior, they advertized it in writing.
I feel mostly for all American children. Their minds need challeging —-They need to be with their friends; their teachers; their grandparents; their relatives before their minds explode. What a waste of life!!
The Hong Kong Flu of 1968 killed more Americans than Covid-19—-on a population scale.
Can’t wait, as everyone else, utill things are back to normal. Normal? Hmmmm. Nothing will ever be “normal” as we knew it again. We have instinctively taught ourselves to behave differently, as far as society goes.
Hang in there, Miss V.—I’m right here if you want to talk. We have made it this far—we come from strong stock!!
❤️
@CeeCeeGirl…Glad to read that something is going well in NewYork…it’s always a pleasure to read a good-news update from you! May you and yours enjoy a blessed and beautiful life in your new home! All is fine on my end, too…still massively hand-washingblessed, mask-wearing and keeping to ourselves on the home front…in other , NO protesting—left or right—for this lady and mine under any circumstances!!! And speaking of ladies, what a fab femme is that Louise Sorel!!! I recall in passing her early days as crazy Vivian, but she was also sublimely sinister as “Santa Barbara’s” formidable Augusta Wainwright Lockridge, especially when accompanied by her faithful Doberman pinscher sidekick, “Breeze!” What an airy moniker for such a provocatively protective pet! Loved them both from the first frame of their strangely symbiotic soap relationship!!!! At any rate, take care, stay safe, and have a lovely summer, mia amica! Hope to soon hear back from you!!!!!!
P.S. That was meant to say: hand-washing, mask-wearing, et al…I had to cut-and-paste my post before refreshing the page, since my initial submission was stuck and wouldn’t send! Somehow that extra “blessed” ended up in the next sentence! Weird…
Hey, Shay—-so good to hear from you—-let’s count our blessings, amica cara—an upside-down world.
The hypocrisy runs rampant—we cannot go anywhere without a mask; cannot hug our friends and relatives etc., That’s what we are ordered to do or not do. Hmmmm, but, the upper echelon of the opposition does whatever it pleases. People were put in jail for not following protocol ( a father playing with his chid in the park), yet the rioters and looters are shoulder to shoulder and faccia a faccia!!!!!!!!!!!! While the populace does its best dealing with Covid-19, the “unmentionables” follow a higher, God-given law!! Yeah, right!! They are entitled!! Uffa!!
The mock Antifa ( if only these anarchists knew its idealism), the pretentious caring for that poor soul, ( RIP) and the looting is tedious, achieving nothing but the degradation of a glorious country. They could give a hoot about George Floyd. What a farce—see right through ‘them’.
I suspect these godless rebels are funded by the deep pockets of you-know-who.
After all is said and done, they only hurt themselves, creating havoc and misery for everyone else.—no good ever comes out of ignorance except more ignorance.
Oh, yes—-love Vivian—always have .
Stay well, bella—talk soon, I hope.
I know, I know, CeeCeeGirl! (Soooo good to hear from you!) I also remain grateful and happy to be vibrant and alive, even though law-abiding individuals like ourselves have been told we cannot attend church services, family celebrations, or observe Memorial Day/4th of July events and we simply accept that in the interests of personal and public health….yet, at the same time, throwing grand mal temper tantrums in the streets and destroying others’ property all whilst prospectively spreading a deadly disease is perfectly okay??? Upside-down world, indeed!!! You know what galls me the most? Being told that WE are the problem!!!! Yeah, right! As if being a responsible citizen who obeys the rules, minds one’s own business and shows respect for those whose job it is to protect and serve us has caused all this turmoil!!! I will NEVER acquiesce to that notion or be told what I must say, think or do by the rent-a-mobbing left! My great hope is that history repeats itself and once again, the “silent majority” refuses to collectively check its brain at the door and delivers us from this evil in a repeat of 1968’s scenario –to which today’s despicable doings are being compared!—Back then, truth, justice and the American way prevailed…may it be forever thus! As for your much-anticipated move having been completed, how nice for you and yours! The locale sounds absolutely picturesque..well, scenes of the “Stop and Shop” excepted! Lol…So far, so good here “off the beaten path”…we’ve been extremely blessed not to be subjected to such uncouth goings-on in our immediate area…hence things are as peaceful as they can be as long as we refuse to view the anarchy and insurrection being played out on the aptly-termed ”boob tube!” As much as I am finding no issues in filling our days with civilized and enjoyable endeavors, I do look forward to when things are “back to normal” in numerous aspects of life for us all, and yes, that includes soaps! They are still a real lifeline for a lot of fans and provide comfort, joy and escape in troubled moments, and they are most definitely needed now, especially since given the current national happenings, it’s highly-apparent that too many wayward people have far too much spare time in order to be led astray. I believe the saying is: “Idle hands are the devil’s tools!” Anyway, it’s always a delight to trade intelligent thoughts with you, mia amica! Have a wonderful summer in your new surroundings! Later…
Yes, that’s Allie.
YES YES YES! So looking forward to Days. It is such a good show. I hope people will watch.
So good to hear that Louise Sorel is coming back only she can play Vivian.Nothing against Robin she did a good job as Vivian, but I love Louise Sorel.
I didn’t care for this Philip and I liked Ms.Sorel so much better on Santa Barbara.
Days Of Our Lives
Days of our Lives Star, Greg Vaughan, Gives Health Update and Thanks Everyone for Their Support
Greg Vaughan (Eric, Days of our Lives, ex-Lucky, GH, and ex-Diego, Y&R) provided an update on his health on Sunday, March 17th. Vaughan had previously shared that he had become ill during a trip with his sons to Colorado, and had developed altitude sickness when he was having trouble breathing accompanied by terrible headaches and landed in the urgent care.
Now on St. Patrick’s Day, Greg took to his Instagram and shared how he is feeling now, and to thank everyone for their love and support. As it turned out, Vaughan was diagnosed with high altitude pulmonary edema, commonly known as HAPE. However, he is on the mend slowly and surely.
In his new video post, the DAYS favorite started by expressing, “I just felt such an appreciation and gratitude for everything. . reaching out. Your prayers have been felt. It’s been a struggle, but I’m over the top. And, taking this moment just to say I didn’t realize the things that I was going through. My (original) post was simply just to educate, put some information out there and some things that I was feeling, just share that information and the struggle that I was going through, which I didn’t quite understand. And it wasn’t because I’m stubborn or just because I’m a father, a man, and didn’t want to go to a doctor. It is just something I thought was so minor that I could overcome it, just by taking care of myself.”
The Daytime Emmy winner then revealed his actual diagnosis, “So, basically my situation was high altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE). With some good friends, doctors that had reached out to me, it kind of gave me some understanding on the aftermath, which was very, very beneficial.”
“But I’ve been resting, taking care of myself even though I live in a hamster wheel,” said the dad of three teenaged boys. “I gotta get up and, you know, do my normal domesticated stuff, eventually. I’m tired of laying down in this bed, but, I am feeling much better.”
Talking on his confusion of trying to understand what could have been ailing him, Vaughan expressed, “I couldn’t quite figure it out, even though I was emphasizing and professing to my children going on our spring break getaway about hydration. I professed it. But, even though I was acting on it, it had a greater effect on me, and for which I did not even think, because my head was such in pain, and I was in a very bad state of mind – not being able to be out there with my kids on the mountain, enjoying their time, as well. I thought I was doing the right thing. Unfortunately, my lungs were full of fluids and my head was in severe pain and even migraine pills didn’t even help. So, I just want anybody that goes into the Colorado Mountains to know, it is no joke. It is this very serious thing which I guess is why they call it the Mile High City.”
Greg had a mountain of ‘thank you’s’ to give for the outreach he received from his original post, “For everybody internationally, wherever you are, I love you and I appreciate you and just the time and the thoughts that you’ve shared with me,” said Vaughan. “I didn’t realize that it would make such an impression on so many people around the world. I feel tremendously loved and I can’t say it enough. I’m good. And I appreciate you.”
The actor concluded his video with, “To all the family and friends that have reached out to me, man, it means the world. So take care of yourself, enjoy your spring break with your families. It’s Saint Patty’s Day, obviously. I wish I could be out there.” Vaughan added, “I feel loved and touched and I can’t emphasize that enough. I’ll take better care of myself, promise you will do the same.” Before he signed off, Greg shared, “Just know, that I’m alive and well and breathing, and I’m sore. So, be well, take care. I mean it. Thank you, tremendously.”
Glad to know that Greg has been on the mend, and shared his appreciation for everyone that reached out to him during this trying time? Comment below.
Days Of Our Lives
‘Access Hollywood’ and ‘Couple to Throuple’ Host Scott Evans to Appear on Days of our Lives
Scott Evans, host of Access Hollywood and the Peacock reality series Couple to Throuple, will make a guest appearance this week on Days of our Lives.
Circle the Thursday, March 21st episode of DAYS for Evans’ arrival in Salem. During his tape date last fall (since DAYS tapes months well ahead of when episodes actually stream), Scott posed for a snap alongside Mary Beth Evans (Kayla), Jackée Harry (Paulina), James Reynolds (Abe) and Greg Rikaart (Leo).
Teasers for the 3/21 episode of DAYS share that Leo tries to come up with his next gossip column, and Paulina and Abe return home to a mini-celebration set up by Johnny and Steve. Will Evans pop up in one of those scenarios? Stay tuned.
For a long time, soap opera fans knew only of one Scott Evans. The one who played Oliver Fish on One Life to Live from 2008-2010. But in show business, there are two Scott Evans’ that are widely-known.
Last Thursday, March 12th at the 35th annual GLAAD Media Awards, it found both Scott Evans and Scott Evans together in the green room and they taped this video ditty below, calling out how they both share the same name.
Last weekend, viewers saw OLTL’s Scott Evans on-stage at the Oscars when he performed in the musical number “I’m Just Ken” from Barbie led by Ryan Gosling.
As for Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans, he has been with the entertainment news program since 2015, appeared in the recent Ladies of the 80s: A Divas Christmas with Linda Gray, Donna Mills, Nicollette Sheridan, Loni Anderson and Morgan Fairchild, and currently has an overall talent and development deal with NBCUniversal.
So, looking forward to seeing Scott on DAYS? Check out ‘Evans meeting Evans’ below, and then share your thoughts in the comment section.

Days of our Lives Star Greg Vaughan Shares Sudden Health Scare: “I Truly Feel Like I Work & Live in a Soap Opera!”
What started out as an adventure with his sons, quickly turned into a nightmare for Days of our Lives Daytime Emmy winner, Greg Vaughan (Eric Brady).
In a series of Instagram posts, Vaughan shared the sudden health crisis he found himself in. The images show Greg with an oxygen tank to help him breathe.
The actor began to fill people, sharing, “I’ve said more than a few times, I truly feel like I work & live in a Soap Opera! 🤪 this trip was nothing short of another great Vaughan adventure!”
He went on to say that on a father and son Colorado spring break trip, he began to feel shortness of breath, feeling tired and with a headache and after two days of hoping he would feel better, Vaughan finally went to an Urgent Care to get checked out.
“I finally surrendered & went to urgent care and to my shock I learned that I was experiencing severe altitude sickness.” Vaughan admitted. “My Blood Oxygen was at 54% & my lungs were full of fluids! Blood oxygen, also known as oxygen saturation, represents the percentage of hemoglobin in your red blood cells that is carrying oxygen. Most people have an oxygen level of 95-100%….”
Providing more detail to his health scare, Greg shared, “Well, 4hrs later, a couple of bags of IV & oxygen tank strapped to my face, I was told that I needed to immediately get off the mountain! However I couldn’t, we still had another day to go & wanting the boys to enjoy their last day on the hill tops! I opted to go home with an oxygen tank, a good laugh for everyone, and I know will follow, but my boys looked after their old man & fortunately they had friends on this trip!”
The experience of altitude sickness in the Colorado Rockies gave Vaughan a bit of a new perspective, “In all seriousness, no matter your age, and all the times I’ve ⛷️ & 🏂 in my lifetime, Colorado Rockies is no joke! As they say, ‘ take a breathe and smell the roses!’ That is truly something we need to remember & appreciate! #recover”
Share your well-wishes to Greg as he continues to be on the mend via the comment section below.
