DAYS OF OUR LIVES: Ben Fights Off His “Killer” Instincts As Rob Scott Wilson Delivers Power Performance Of The Week

In Days of our Lives’ version of Beauty and the Beast, in this case Ciara (Victoria Konefal) is the ‘beauty’ and Ben (Rob Scott Wilson) is the ‘beast’ she is to tame, last Thursday and Friday’s episodes illustrated to us where this duo could be heading in the future.

But first things, first.  The situation took a horrifying turn for Ciara, and for Ben, when he runs into the cabin beside himself!  He informs Ciara he went to the pharmacy to get his prescription but the police have swarmed the place.  Getting more and more agitated, Ben tells Ciara, he blames her, and her mother, Hope (Kristian Alfonso) for putting an APB out on him!  Ciara says she didn’t say anything to her mother.   But, Ben is losing his grip on reality fast and he desperately needs his meds.  He’s on edge and begs her not to call Hope, as he can’t go back to the sanitarium.  Ciara tries to calm Ben down and insists that she won’t to that to him, but suddenly, he becomes more unglued and stomps on her cell phone!

Next, Ben is hallucinating thinking he has handcuffed Ciara to the bed – the same thing he did to Abigail!   He sees Ciara in the handcuffs.  Ciara tells him she is not in them and to look at her hands.  All of a sudden, as she tells him she is on his side, and will help him through this, he calls her, “a lying little whore, just like the rest of them.”  Ben thinks she believes he is a ‘killer’ like everyone else, because she has now grabbed a knife to defend herself.

Ben tells Ciara that maybe he hasn’t changed at all, he is a serial killer, and now that he is off his meds he sees things very clearly. Ciara tries to calm him down and assure him everything will be OK.  When he closes his eyes and then opens them, he still sees that Ciara is handcuffed to the bed.  Crawling more and more out of his skin, Ben begins to hear his father, Clyde saying, “She’s lying to you, boy …trying to fool you … the same as that slut Abigail.”

Now, Ben hallucinates that Clyde (James Read) is in the cabin, egging him on to strangle Ciara, red necktie and all!  As Ben fights off his father’s attempts to make him do heinous things to Ciara, (he even hears Clyde telling him to burn down the cabin), yielding a knife Ciara calms Ben down saying Clyde is not really there.  Ben admits he doesn’t know what’s real anymore.  Ciara puts her knife down and offers her hand to hold on to. Ben takes Ciara’s hand and sits down as Clyde’s image fades away.  Ciara begs Ben to run to the pharmacy to get his meds. She promises she will not use her phone.  Ben exits.

However on Cliffhanger Friday, Ciara is engulfed in flames in the cabin, with no Ben to be found, and Rafe (Galen Gering) getting a signal from her cell directing him and Hope on a collision course with Ciara and Ben.

Throughout the two episodes of Ben’s battle with his sanity and how he is haunted by what he has done to others, and vacillating. between reality and delusional, Rob Scott Wilson illustrated once again, that given the material that his performances of Ben are mesmerizing. Wilson’s scenes make you stop whatever you may be doing, and take notice.  That is why Rob is our pick for the “Power Performance of the Week.”

So, what did you think of Rob’s performance?  What did you think of what happened in the cabin between Ben and Ciara? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

Where do i begin…to tell the story of teen Ciara and a killer named Ben…what looked like a kidnapping now looks like they will be more than just friends…a blossoming love story that will never end…new super couple Ciara and Ben!!!!-lol

When was the last time The Horton House was shown…why dumb down Will and Sonny-it was self defense-why cover that up-is it to drag out a Will and Sonny reunion???

I’m loving Rob’s performance ,too! He is doing sensational acting! Hopefully, he’ll become sane , normal, or whatever word fits ; after that , team him with Ciara.

I thought his performance was great in the fact, that you could feel his pain and misery, and so sympathise with him, as much as we hated him in the previous SL.Hope, above all will be against any ensuing relationship.

I love Rob and am glad Ben is back.

How does the fire start?

Didn’t watch. Can’t watch. Seems so very wrong to bring back killers.

Rob does an excellent job in this role. I am glad they brought him back. He is a gifted actor!

I love Rob. He’s a great actor. Hope he stays on the show.

Oh i definitely agree with this choice! Rob Scott Wilson plays bad boy and edgy very well. Great to see a gorgeous and sexy guy that can really act.

My heart goes out too these 2 for I think they should get together. She knows how to handle him and and he’s good for her also

I love Rob he did an great job mental illness is no laughing matter.I should know I have four or them. That is why it is so important that people who suffer from a mental illness take there meds.I know first hand what can happen when you dont.It is not a pretty site.Good job Rob ..Oh by the way I saw you in your Lifetime movie.

I am absolutely loving the story of Ben and Ciara…..I love his character both good and bad and am happy that he is back!!!! Plus this Ciara is fun to watch and I cant wait for more. My new favorite couple! Plus I dont think Ciara is a teen anymore…..is that correct?

Love Ben great actors. Great couple Ciara & Ben

“Ben”‘s acting is fantastic!

I’m sorry no matter how hot the man if I heard he killed multiple people by strangulation, whether mental.or not, I’d slowly walk and then run and then SPRINT out of the room.

That never happens on soaps and it’s stupid.

The actor is talented BUT why.not just bring him back as a totally different character with no connection to the killer AND ever have people not say “hey you look like…”

Just more typical crap

Totally agree with you, if “Ben” had been jailed for misdemeanors, that would be forgivable but three brutal murders. No way! He is an gifted actor though.

Yeah right! But it could be that Ben was set up. A Ben look alike, but he the real Ben was drugged to think that he was the actual murderer when it wasn’t! ‘I smell a Rolf!’

Excellent performance! Riveting! Felt total compassion, empathy for him at his own despair, realizing he was losing his grip on reality. And when he does, the violence creeping back and somehow mustering the power to fight it and take Ciara’s hand…really well done. And now he’ll be blamed for the fire…even if he DID set it he wouldn’t technically be responsible. But in this case it does seem like the lighter ignited (which doesn’t make sense)…

Interesting to see if they expand his role and develop a relationship with Ciara or if it was a short arc where he’s sent back to the facility. (haven’t read the spoilers…)

Well let’s see….he has voices..killed people…everyone gates him and wants him locked up…Abigail hears voices….killed someone and everyone is super happy she is free….

Well said Lisa! The hypocrisy of the Brady and Horton “good guys” is disgusting.

Oh my gosh! I’ve been saying the same thing, too! It’s such hypocrisy. I’m rooting fire him. Plus, he can actually act! Plus, Hope is very judgy for someone who has killed as well, even if she was made to think otherwise.

I agree with ya!

Absolutely!

Ben is an awesome actor !!!! Hoping he is not convicted of causing the fire and he and Ciara become an item!

Not watching Days since Stephen Nichols got canned. Ben–“ben” there; done that.” Evil is evil.
