I never even knew I liked Eli this much but when I saw the promo, I was like OH NO THEY DIDN’T.

I always felt he was underused. The police are such a joke there in Salem, so there isn’t really much for Eli.
This show is so bad, it’s just not worth watching anymore.
When will DOOL get better writers?
I like Eli. I don’t think he will be killed off. I didn’t like Lamon on Y&R. I do think his acting has improved. Same with Sal.
This is not going to help TR get in good with Lani!
I’m assuming the typically run-of-the-mill “theme” will happen. Eli with either have amnesia or fall into a coma.
TR will take over Salem causing havoc and mayhem for Lord knows how long.
Personally, the PTB should do something oh-so-unheard-of for once. Have Eli get well lickety-split, thus getting rid of TR—he is so unnerving, I am done with all these distractions. The same goes for Leo.
Sarah? Never liked her—that hair!! Now, I like her even less as a psycho.

Celia, I am with you on so much here. “Unnerving” is the right word for TR. But I must say, this character is such a departure from Derek on AMC; the actor makes a great villain.
Maybe where you live, DOOL was preempted by the parade. But elsewhere, the episode was shown today. You can no doubt catch the episode on Demand or on Peacock. You’re onto something with that “coma” idea…

I do remember detective Frye—i liked him and Mimi as a couple on AMC.
I think the role ended the same year I graduated.
What a giant leap from lovable Derek to repulsive TR. I vehemently object his presence in Salem. LOL.

Thanks for your response, Friend! I agree with your other remarks in this thread, too (e.g., Greg Rikaart’s role on Y&R vs that on DOOL). I think that Leo is too over the top to be enjoyed. Some of Leo’s remarks elicit discomfort as a matter of course. Granted, not every gay person is a Will or a Sonny. There are Leo’s in this world, too. Thank you, James— My best friend is gay—we grew up together and I have personally witnessed how some very ignorant people treated him–both kids and adults. I love him as a brother—He is married, and we are still in each other’s lives—he and his husband are family to me. Killing off TR would be easy enough. Since we know he’s a junkie, somebody slip some Fentanyl into his Heroin stash and he can take a long dirt nap…. well at least until he wakes up to find himself as dragon dinner down here in Hell. Of course Eli is in a Coma. Gee, he then might be able to tell his wife who really shot him, implicating her father who is such a piece of xxxx, This also gives that woman Beth something to blackmail T.R with, giving him another reason to kill her, etc,etc.
Now that I’m watching this unfold, I have some thoughts.
Suddenly TR is an active heroin user who needs a “fix”. He buys drugs from a young kid named Frank. Shouldn’t the drug dealer be named Collin or Aiden? He’s like 19.
Finally, for as progressive as Carlivati is with writing, or thinks he is, this is a storyline for a black family that involves domestic violence, drugs and being shot. It’s disappointing.
Well, they already used “Colin” and “Aiden” as names for disposable villains on Days. Maybe ReRon used “Frank” as a dig against his former partner in crime on OLTL & the mutated version of GH?
I would agree that he seems to be pulling out all the old stereotypes for the TR story.

By the direction this twisted plot is going, chances are Tony and Anna will grow apart—who’s gonna bite the dust??

DAYS Daytime Emmy Nominees: Arianne Zucker, James Reynolds, Stacy Haiduk & Lindsay Arnold Chat On Their Reels, Reactions, and Co-Stars
Days of our Lives nominated performers, Arianne Zucker (Nicole), James Reynolds (Abe), Stacy Haiduk (Kristen) and Lindsay Arnold (Allie) chatted with Michael Fairman for the Michael Fairman Channel’s continuing coverage of the 49th Annual Daytime Emmy Nominations.
Each actor revealed which scenes they submitted that put them into position to potentially win the gold statuette when the Daytime Emmys are announced during ceremonies on June 24th on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.
Outstanding Lead Actress nominee, Arianne Zucker, shared that her scenes contained moments between Nicole and Eric (Greg Vaughan), while Outstanding Lead Actor nominee, James Reynolds (Abe), went with Abe being shot and the standalone episode which followed in honor of Reynolds 40th anniversary with the show. Outstanding Supporting Actress nominee Stacy Haiduk (Kristen) went full Kristen (with no Susan Banks), in key scenes opposite Eric Martsolf (Brady) where Kristen and Brady have an emotional break-up, while Outstanding Younger Performer nominee, Lindsay Arnold (Allie), mentioned scenes where Allie recalls and deals with being the victim of sexual assault, and more.
In addition to their reels, the actors share their reaction to learning they were in the running for an Emmy, plus working with many of their co-stars at DAYS ,and the collaboration it takes to often get the performances viewers see on-air.

Later, as DAYS heats up during May Sweeps, the actors preview their current storyline and characters’s state of mind. Lindsay teases what could be next for the possessed AllDevil in Salem who looks to become more unhinged. James weighs-in on Abe’s plight after being clubbed over the head by TR, Arianne gives us a glimpse of what could be on the horizon for Nicole, and Stacy tells us what she thinks Kristen is up to, and how Susan Banks, is always on point when the devil is in Salem perpetrating dirty deeds unsuspecting Salemites.
