Devious Maids Season Two Premiere Date Announced! Eva Longoria To Direct Opener!

At today’s Television Critics Association (TCA) 2014 Winter Press Tour Lifetime and series creator Marc Cherry announced plans for the second season of the wildly popular nighttime soap opera, Devious Maids!

Those plans include that executive producer Eva Longoria will direct the season two opener, and that at some point in the future, she will make an appearance on the series!  Devious Maids will return on April 20th in the 10PMEST/PST time slot on Lifetime!

As far as what to expect Cherry revealed, expect to “see some new faces and say goodbye to some other faces” in the new season.  The cast which is comprised of Susan Lucci, Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramirez, Judy Reyes and more apparently admitted that they were told by real-life maids that Devious Maids doesn’t quite do justice to the actual stories from homes.   “Whatever we can think of, the truth is stranger than fiction, and it gave us a lot of confidence going forward,” Cherry commented.

According to the press release for season two here is what to look for:  “Following last season’s revelation of Flora’s murderer, Rosie’s shocking arrest by immigration agents, the demise of Valentina and Zoila’s relationship and Carmen’s fake engagement, season two promises to deliver even more excitement. Beverly Hills is hit by a wave of criminal activity that leaves its residents in a vulnerable situation. Meanwhile, Marisol engages in a new romance but quickly discovers there is more than meets the eye to her new lover. Zoila’s need to control everything starts to take a toll on her personal life, especially with Valentina, who is now working for a surprising new employer. Rosie’s immigration status is in flux, while Carmen embraces her life in the limelight as the fiancée to a pop star.”

Will you be watching season two of Devious Maids? What do you think about Eva Longoria directing the season premiere?  Let us know!

Love “Devious Maids.” Am looking forward to yet another season of Marc Cherry’s great program, which is my new addiction since “Desperate Housewives” is no longer on the air…!

it took me awhile to warm up to it but i was drawn in by the close relationships among the women. the love between genevieve and zoila was the highlight. rosie is my favorite. refreshing realistic portrayals of smart latinas make it special.

Definitely a show to watch. Smart and witty writing. Actually if you watch this for Erica Kane sadly she is not on the show but Susan Lucci steals the show. She doesn`t play a bad girl that is Rebecca Wisnocky who is delightful as Evelyn the with a with a captial B but the characgter of Genvieve by Lucci is a hoot and the relationship of Genevieve with her maids and son is heartwarming. Every character has their moment that`s for sure. Lucci deserves an Emmy for best supporting actress but if my memory is right she is not an Emmy favorite. I am pretty sure this is the lady who always lost the Emmy but she shines at night. Why did she wait so long

Kelly Ripa Reveals How Her Son Chose NYU Due To The Consuelos Connection To Former Soap EP/ Director, Chris Goutman

Last week on an episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan, the former star of All My Children, Kelly Ripa (Ex-Hayley) told Ryan Seacrest how a chance meeting when her son, Michael was deciding where to go to college; between her, Michael, and Chris Goutman (Ex-Executive Producer As the World Turns and former director, All My Children) changed the course of Michael’s creative and academic path.

Turns out that Goutman is now working over at NYU’s Tisch School for the Arts as an assistant professor and academic director.

During their banter on the talk show, Kelly revealed that Goutman directed the screen-test that landed Mark Consuelos the role of Mateo on All My Children, and thus how Ripa met her real-live enduring lovematch.

Ripa explained that Michael was waiting for a sign as to which college to go to as he liked most of the places he saw.  Then came the sign as Ripa explained to Seacrest: “We’re walking down the hallway and I hear a voice I know say, ‘Consuelos!’ “He turns around and I see Chris Goutman, who was our director at All My Children … I worked with him for 11 years.”

Ripa says Chris then expressed to Michael: “You have to come here, because I am the reason you literally exist.”

Ripa is reportedly also working on a film for the class, as well.  Watch what Kelly shared below.
