Does GH’s Margaux Have A Connection To Someone In Port Charles? If So, Who?
This week, General Hospital viewers saw that the ABC daytime drama series is teasing a potential pairing of Drew (Billy Miller) and the new district attorney in town, Margaux Dawson (Elizabeth Hendrickson), after the two characters run into each other at a concession stand at the cancelled baseball game.
As fans of the soap genre know, Miller and Hendrickson also played former love interests on The Young and the Restless as Billy Abbott and Chloe Mitchell.
During Hendrickson’s first #AskGH live Twitter Q&A when asked: “Is your character connected to someone on the show?” Elizabeth responded: “As of now Margaux is new to town … but you never know, there may be some connection that has not be revealed yet :)”
That tweet has left fans speculating if perhaps Margaux, has an ex in Port Charles, is tied to a major family in someway, or perhaps has some legal trouble past?
Recently on GH. when Chase (Josh Swickard) arrived on the scene as the new cop (following Nathan’s (Ryan Paevey) untimely death), it was later revealed that he was actually the half-brother to Finn (Michael Easton). And as we know in the soaps, connections are usually the key to more long term success in a role, rather than being just a standalone character, but there have been exceptions.

So, who would you like to see Margaux have a connection to on GH? What do you think will happen with her character? Comment below.
Probably miller /Drew trying to recapture the chemistry they had years ago on y & r
And there was chemistry… Drew needs someone vibrant and sexy.. Sam always seems asleep to me…
You got it, Elite Advisors—-a monotonal somnambulist.
HaHa, Kay….I like that. LOL.
No one. There are way to many new characters that we don’t care about and so many original characters that we need to see again! Mac should be Commish again for a start.
She is Oliver’s real mom and Kim’s sister…she runs into Drew at the game!!!
My problem here is if she had a connection to Drew, why didn’t she react to Jason at court? This show is getting so crowded with characters they barely use while Sonny, Carly and Jason are consistently featured!
perhaps Drew/Jason isnt really his father…and Oscar isnt a Q???
Her connection, Phil, may be coming indirectly…
Good one, Jimmy. I thought of Dr Kim, as well…..not as Oscar’s real mom, but related, somehow.
Looks like they’re pairing them up; trying to do something unexpected or at least delay a Kim/Drew pairing. Kim and Julian are actually great together but won’t last long if he gets tangled with Sonny..which could lead her back to Drew which could lead Margaux to Griffin?
I still think she looks a bit like Finola Hughes. Definite resemblance there (to me).
I also think Curtis and Sam could have chemistry if they decide to have her separate from both Jason and Drew. But then that would take away their first black wedding on GH.
I like Kim with Julian as well. She brings out the fun in him.
Curtis and Sam do have chemistry but they are sadly lacking as PIs. They have been staring at that picture of the hotel laundry cart for 6 weeks now. I think they should call their PI agency,”Dumber and Dumber.”
LOL, Harry. Actually, I’ve been thinking that they’ve made Sam the “brains” of the operation and Curtis has suddenly lost his edge. He seems constantly dumbfounded and she keeps coming up with theories that actually turn out to be correct. I get that they’re trying to show Sam back in her “element” but it shouldn’t be at the expense of Curtis. They should be playing off each other, inspiring each other’s hunches. Instead, Curtis seems like he’s constantly stumped…
Agency name? How ’bout Lost (Curtis) and Found (Sam).
Hi, Harry! Long time!!!! 😉
I laughed so hard when Curtis referred to Mumbles (Sam) as a great private investigator. Great? She’s always getting herself kidnapped, knocked out, and is in-need of rescue or Spin’s help.
Not since she’s been with Curtis; she’s the one that’s come up with all the theories. She found out about Peter being carted off in the bin, the shoes, Obrecht, etc. Curtis has been like a deer in the headlights (which hasn’t been him up to now. He was always right on it.
Okay, rebecca1, dont laugh. What if she’s related to Sonny..daughter, perhaps? It would accomplish 2 things: give Sonny another relationship to screw up AND keep the focus on the Corinthos clan, which seems to be a law written in stone. She can’t be another lost Quartermaine, can she? Soon, we’re gonna need a spreadsheet to keep track of that family.
Bite your tongue, Soaphound! I cannot take another Corinthos invading the town. Maybe she’s a long lost Cassadine??? Could be interesting if she and Sam were related and she winds up dating Drew…
As for Sonny and Carly, I’m hoping that Michael keeps his baby and raises him/her at the Quartermaine’s (what’s left of them); the home he should have been raised in (at least part time.) The thought of Carly marching around with yet another baby is almost too much to bear. 😉
The first wedding between African American characters on GH took place in the 80’s between Bryan Phillips and Claudia Johnston. Bryan was Scotty’s closest friend and Claudia was close to Laura and Amy.
Oh; didn’t know that, Steve. I don’t remember those characters..but I thought I had read on another site that Vinessa thought that the wedding ceremony between Jordan and Curtis would be a first for the show. I must have read it wrong.
Thanks for the info!
I’m trying to find the ceremony on YouTube. The reception is there, maybe they didn’t film the ceremony.
GH was slow to introduce black actors compared to its ABC counterparts.
Bryan and Claudia were the first semi-regular black characters on GH, each appearing for over 5 years. I don’t believe either were on contract.
Simone Hardy was probably the first contract African American performer on GH. Being part of an interracial couple with the son of the show’s patriarch was groundbreaking. Simone cheated on Tom with Harrison, who would’ve been the first black male performer on contract. Nurse Meg Lawson was another character played by an African American actress (recurring).
The Ward family, with their connection to the Qs were next. Sadly, Rosalind Cash’s death ripped the heart of that family. Justus stuck around a while, but he, Lanie, and the Ward girls never drove story.
Epiphany’s relationship with her son Stan was barely touched on. And Felix had potential until they decided that Lucas and Brad were end game. It really wasn’t until the Ashfords were introduced (including Shawn) that an African American family (with no connection to a core family) was put on contract.
OLTL really led the way with the Hall/Gray family. And AMC made Jesse and Angie the first black super couple.
Thus ends my trip down memory lane for the day.
I don’t remember Bryan, Claudia… (but just read Sammy Davis, Jr played his father!?) Also just looked it up; seems the actor who played Bryan passed away (as did the actress who portrayed Mary Mae). Simone Hardy sounds familiar.
The Ward family I remember. We learned of Mary Mae and Edward’s brief love affair, their grandson Justice came and lived in the Q house for a while I think, was an attorney, then there was his cousin Keesha and someone named Maya. It’s all kinda fuzzy.
Soaps have come a long way. But only with African Americans. Still no Asians (cept for Brad), Jewish characters or other ethnicities. Not everything is JUST black and white!
🙂
Actually, One Life to Live, once again, led the way for Jewish characters, with the Siegels way back in the 70s. They also prominently featured Nora’s faith.
OLTL, however, deserves a thumbs down for Asian performers for changing Blair from Amer-Asian to Caucasian overnight. There was a funny scene at Asa’s funeral when Blair (KdP) has a flashback and it’s the original actress on screen. Blair checks her compact to reassure herself. Funny, but kind of sad.
One or two Jewish characters over a fifty years history of soaps doesn’t say much. Church scenes, chapel prayers, Christmas specials, Church weddings, etc. There’s been next to nothing on Jewish characters; no Jewish weddings, holidays, etc. I find it extremely ironic that there are no Jewish doctors at GH (Matt Cohen plays not only a doctor but a priest! 😉 Since he’s Jewish that might have been a good opportunity to bring in a Jewish character/doctor, but the only “stereotype” they decided to go with was Sonny’s Jewish accountant and Hayden’s father (the one she was brought up by) a Jewish ponzi criminal! (ala Madoff). That was rich. (pun intended.)
@Steve…Ryan’s Hope also did the Jewish thing quite well, but then given that it took place in NYC, it was just a natural extension of the real-life locale to feature a deli owned by the Greenbergs! I believe their son was involved with a Ryan family niece??? As for featuring Asian performers, GH did it best back in the ‘80’s with the “Asian Quarter” mystery storyline…we had Dr. Yank and Nurse Jade in Romeo and Juliet mode, plus their families in a stuggle of good and evil…when Brad came to town and revealed his links to those characters, I had high hopes we would be revisiting them, but, alas, as always GH disappointed when it came to banking on its rich history. Too busy now with just being pc instead of logically drawing upon its beloved players of the past. (Same goes for Bryan and Claudia…their children could have easily been portrayed by some of the current actors on the show, and also the actress who played Claudia is still alive. She’s the late, great Meshach Taylor’s ——-aka, Anthony Bouvier of Designing Women fame…—-widow and I have often thought that when Laura was around Port Charles that it would have been a kick for her to visit her old friend to reminisce about the glory days of PCU, the campus disco and exercise classes with a much more sedate and laid-back Richard Simmons!
She’d better have connections to someone on the show because Elizabeth is hitting it out of the park with this role. I might sound a little biased because I’ve always loved Elizabeth’s work on any show she’s been on. She really is powerful in this role!!!
I agree, James! Elizabeth and Bill bring out the adorable factor in each other.
The chemistry between her and Miller was instant and intense. Miller actually lit up like a Christmas tree which was a sight for sore eyes. While I think GH is over saturated with new characters, I think Elizabeth’s character could be terrific with Drew. I always thought he was rather somnolent with Sam.
Oh Harry I so agree. It was the first time I’ve smiled about anything GH in a long, long time.
You mean Obrecht and her antics didn’t put a huge grin on your face, Rose? I know Liesl is totally OTT insane, but her Peter escapades made me LOL…the only downers in the entire storyline equation were the unwelcome insertion of Nina…and the fact that neither she nor the “Pumpkin Eater” perished in that blaze. GH really does need to be more free with killing off characters….a proper housecleaning is sorely required and a cracking good plot could rid Port Charles of many of its most annoying denizens. Just. Do. It…NOW!
Hi Shay…Love Kathleen but her Obrecht character’s OTT tortures didn’t put a huge grin on my face. Just the opposite. I’m thinking there was supposed to be a camp value to it, but I don’t like that kind of brutal storytelling, especially in my afternoon soaps. Plus I like Peter.
Must say though, have you noticed any woman who has had any close contact with Cassadines over the years seem to be, or get screwed up…Helena, Alexis mom, then Alexis, Nina, Liesl, even Anna, Laura and Lulu at different times. And in the case of Dr.O it’s ironic that she’s mourning the good attributes of Nathan yet she exhibits none of them. In fact kept him away from Faison in case he become contaminated or hurt by his evilness.
As far as cast members…I kinda like Chase. And even though she is bad, bad, bad will miss Nelle. She’s a very good actress. And there’s the new kids for the future who will probably be teenagers in two years the way the writer’s age them…Leo, Avery, and Nelle/Michael and Brad/Lucas babies
‘Tis true, Rose, the Cassadines are a cursed clan for anyone unfortunate enough to come into contact with them…especially those who do so involuntarily! But in Obrecht’s case, I sense she was already too far gone from her magnificent obsession with Cesar Faison…he was the real root of her evil ways! As you have observed, Liesl is absolute camp, like a Bond villain….which is why I can laugh when she goes bat guano crazy on her perceived enemies…she is so broadly-drawn and totally fanciful, rather like a dastardly cartoon character, which for me, makes her violence an exercise in pure fiction…I mean, who really does THAT sort of stuff? On the other hand, Sonny and his motley crew have many real-life counterparts, which is why their glorified mob storylines completely sicken me. As for Nelle, yes, I quite enjoy her, too…all soaps used to have gutsy gals similar in type to her in their midst…her conniving vixen act is very reminiscent of the good old days of daytime! And played by a great actress, to boot! She will be missed! (Unlike Peter, were he to go, as he has to be one of the most disliked GH characters ever…and the fact he’s Anna son makes him even more cringeworthy to me. She deserved better than this Faison-issued freakshow fraud as an offspring….and no amount of revisionism and redemptive efforts will change that fact….but sadly, it looks as though we…and she…are stuck with him! More’s the pity…)
Shay…it’s going to take some skillful story telling to redeem Dr.O. Hope the writers are ready for the challenge because I want her to stay on GH. Good reason for Brit to come back, especially since Nelle will be gone. We need another b**ch, maybe not as lethal as Nelle.
I liked the good old Bond villains, too. Speaking of campy, affected…one of my favorites of all times, though, is Vincent Price who is spooking out a household of “guests” right now in the movie I am watching…House On Haunted Hill.
As for the kind of violence whether Liesl or Sonny. At least Dr.O did her own dirty work. her own in a visual way I can’t stand. Include MaryBeth at Fernwood (or whatever). Too real, especially with what we are seeing on the news everyday. Especially guns. As for Sonny, he is usually all talk giving orders on/off screen over the phone, or to Jason and Max.
@Rose…..I’m thinking that Liesl is going to require a nice long rest at Ferncliff! How fun could that be??? Talk about an inmate running the asylum!!! Perhaps she will become a heroine by emancipating the mystery patient living next door to Carly? (And giving nasty Nurse MaryBeth a dose of her own medicine?)I would never count out Dr. O.! The woman is all sorts of awesome…cagey, crafty and cunning…I would love to see her prevail to live another day in Port Charles! Oh, and if she were to somehow comandeer a karaoke machine in the common room for the patients at the mental institution that would also be fabulous….Kathleen Gati’s talents as both a vocalist and comedienne need to be front and center again!!! As for Britt, yes, yes, yes, bring her back! I really loved that character and no one has truly filled the unique void she left when she departed the show. Her jail term should be up soon…and she deserves to return to GH far more than yet another useless newbie needs to be introduced to the canvas. Speaking of Vincent Price and “camp,” how about his “Egghead” on the old Batman series? Lol….He was quite “eggceptional!”
Shay…Add Nelle to Ferncliff with Dr.O and Marybeth. Now that would be “interesting.” My money on who would win out would be Liesl. I’ll look for “Egghead” since one of my stations is starting to do reruns of Batman. Loved, loved that series.
Absolutely, Rose! And Heather, too! No GH mental institution is complete without the commanding presence of Ms. Webber!!! It’s simply not natural for this beloved character to be M.I.A. for so long….and she would be a perfect pal for Liesl! (Rather a perfect “partner in crime!”) At any rate, I do so hope you encounter “Egghead” soon..I think Vincent Price guested at least three times in that “eggstraordinary” role! Although I wouldn’t consider myself a great fan of the “Batman” series, I have seen a number of episodes, mainly to catch the old stars of yore camping it up in full comedy mode in Gotham City…there really was an incredible list of guest villains who turned up on the show. Still, my favorite was always the gorgeous Julie Newmar as “Catwoman!” She was so graceful and slinky in her black catsuit…and the caper where she stole the voices of popstars “Chad and Jeremy” was too much fun! (You know the former is the father of GH’s Valentin, right? That’s where he gets his musical talent….) Anyway, happy viewing…it’s pure escapism, to be sure! Later, Rose!
Harry Yes There chemistry is so awesome hopefully GH will figure out what to do with them.
Whatever happened to Paul Hornsby’s daughter Susan?
Wasn’t she supposed to show up eventually? Maybe this is her and she’s carrying on whatever warped crusade her serial killer daddy had going.
Last we saw Susan Hornsby, she was in a nearly catatonic state when her father visited her during his killing spree. That was really a character Assassination plot. Paul was not a serial killer.
With Dillon off the canvas, highly unlikely they’d bring Susan on.
Margaux is out to get a pound of Sonny’s flesh.
She is connected to Sonny.
)ooh lawdy! hopefully not another daughter lol
((Sonny is quite the stud, so yah never know..
Or–
I’m waiting it out…to early for what I’m thinking.
I don’t know much of GH’s history….just what I read and from Shay and others.
Another Q child? There were so many affairs going on within that family, extra-marital and otherwise, it would follow the pattern?
However, that’s old. A more compelling twist would be that Peter is not Anna’s and Faison’s son. Could it be Margot? Twins?? Related to Dr Kim? Hayden? Griffin? I could go on, but I won’t. LOL.
As I usually say, the writers have no clue, at this point. But, it is something for them to conjure up nonetheless. Whom will they pick?
I’m just not “feeling” this character. I wasn’t a big fan of the actress or the character on Y & R. I didn’t watch while she was paired with Billy Miller (on Y & R), so I don’t “get” or “see” the chemistry they shared. She’ll probably end up with Sonny for a night and ruin her career like Alexis and Claire Walsh. Rinse. Wash. Repeat.
Look on the bright side, GH can save a lot as far as wardrobe is concerned. This girl can trade clothes with Lizzy and Same. All three are half pints
Billy Abbott’s ( Miller) and Chloe Mitchell’s ( Hendrickson) relationship, was tenuous, at best, dmr.
It wasn’t so much about their relationship since there really was none.
Whatever ‘romance’ there was, happened overseas ( I think)….. they married due to her pregnancy—-she was your typical nasty girl.
Chloe went from one man to the next…..
Nonetheless, what caught the viewer’s eye and interest was the obvious and tangible chemistry and to a certain point, camaraderie. It was palpable…..but, as usual TPTB killed that special connection and, therefore, separated them.
I think that given the chance, we may see that again with Margaux and Drew.
I’m with you on this one, dmr….I simply don’t see what the fuss is all about with this actress and character……GH didn’t need another of either, so as far as I’m concerned, her addition was wholly unnecessary. I’m bored to tears with the profusion of meaningless newbies who have taken over this once-superb soap, It’s time to give the endless parade of cast additions a break and get back to the traditional heart and soul legacy characters of Port Charles before we reach the point of no return….(And I don’t mean a recycled plotline with Sonny in his default Don Juan mode romancing every available woman within the city limits…..) Then again, perhaps we’re already there….
Shay I agree but Frank is not going to stop until he puts every out of work actor on the show! Steve Burton brought back to stand and stare just can’t figure out what is going on are we trying to kill the shows is that the plan?
Unfortunately, it literally could be, k/kay. Hope not. While I miss many of the vets and “mourn” the loss (and don’t agree with killing off/under utilizing the vets that are still out there) I’d still miss GH if/when it takes its final bow.
It’s a shame the way they’ve destroyed the families of Port Charles. There’s barely any left; the Spencer’s and Quartermaine’s are just fond memories; tiny fragments of what they once were. Making the “Corinthos” the main family is maddening, ridiculous, and changed the whole fabric of the show. I almost feel like the writers don’t know the rich history of GH and don’t have the time to research it. They need a continuity editor to bring them up to speed and connect the dots. But they won’t invest in that. So we’ve got Aunt Stella.
This is true, k/kay! Well, every out-of-work actor except for those GH vets, that is….they’ve been uncermoniously assigned to the trash heap of Port Charles’ history! As for Steve Burton, he’s probably stunned into silence over the fact that he actually returned to this sinking ship of shoddy storylines…The show has become a true “Frankensoap,” as far too many remnants from dead daytime’s past have been picked from their respective carcasses to invade the current GH canvas..Not only has this proved to be a recipe for disastrous ratings, but it’s actually become ghoulish to witness how all of these interlopers have cannibilized what was once unmistakably ABC’s most reliable and recognizable of soaps. Quite frankly, this formerly-beloved institution has been dying a slow death since its 50th annniversary…it’s all been downhill in the past five years with the gutting of its traditional aspects and characters whilst forcefeeding countless unpalatable newbies and newfangled scenarios that never rang true for longtime fans. No matter how much tinkering is done to supposedly save this show, life support seems to be failing. Time to pull the plug???
I believe that Margaux is Nina’s daughter
