Soap Vet Judith Chapman Plays Nancy Reagan in New Will Smith Film ‘King Richard’

Now here’s another real-life legend role that will be taken on by the one and only Judith Chapman.  As daytime soap fans know, Chapman has a massive resume on the soaps from Natalie on ATWT to Ginny on GH, to Diana and Angelique on DAYS, to Gloria on Y&R to roles on Ryan’s Hope, and more.

In the latest bit of casting news from Chapman herself, she will be seen in the role of former First Lady, Nancy Reagan in the new Will Smith film, King Richard based on the life of Tennis champs, Serena and Venus Williams, father, Richard Williams.

According to Yahoo News: Liev Schreiber has also joined the cast of the film.  Schreiber will play tennis coach Paul Cohen, a famous instructor who worked with several leading tennis players including John McEnroe and Pete Sampras, amongst others. The script has been done by Zach Baylin and depicts the story of Williams, who trained his two daughters to play tennis without having any prior knowledge of the sport and turned them both into Grand Slam winners and World No. 1 Players in the world.”

Chapman posted on her Facebook page: “Pleased to leak the latest … I will be playing “Just Say No” NANCY REAGAN in Will Smith’s new film..”KING RICHARD” about Venus & Serena’s Dad and their rise to Tennis Fame! Last year TALLULAH…HAH! The Life of an Actor!!”

Gilles has been getting a lot of play lately with many believing she is also appearing on The Masked Singer in the Kitty costume.  But many believe, she is not under that outfit.

As many know, Elizabeth made her debut as a singer on the Nickelodeon series Victorious with the single “Give It Up” in 2011, singing alongside none other than Ariana Grande.

DYNASTY Returns And Alexis Makes Her Presence Known

The back half of the third season of CW’s Dynasty kicks-off tonight and while Blake (Grant Show) is on trial, it’s nuAlexis who comes and shakes things up.

As viewers saw in the fall finale, Elaine Hendrix made her debut as the new Alexis Carrington, following the exit of Nicollette Sheridan and then the one-time episode where it looked like Elizabeth Gilles (Fallon) had taken over the role.

Fast-forward to tonight’s episode, Hendrix comes into her own in the role made soap-famous by Joan Collins back in the 80’s.  In story, we find out that Alexis is married to Jeff Colby (Sam Adegoke)!

Hendrix told TV Line on the pairing: “Depending on who you ask and which P.O.V. you’re coming from, they’re putting it out there to the world that they love each other, but of course nobody believes them. Personally, I think she really does care about Jeff.”

How does Alexis’ return impact her daughter, Fallon? How does her testimony wreak havoc on Blake’s trial? Stay tuned.

Excited to see what Hendrix brings to the role of Alexis when she swings into action on the rest of the season of Dynasty? Comment below.
