Eileen Davidson Confirms Exit From Y&R
After reports surfaced that Eileen Davidson was leaving her role of Ashley Abbott on The Young and the Restless, the Daytime Emmy-winning actress announced this morning via her Twitter account that she was indeed leaving the series come September.
Eileen expressed: “Yes I am leaving my second home @YandR_CBS in September. I’ve been so blessed to be able to play Ashley Abbott and work with the amazing people on the show and have nothing but gratitude and love for all!!! Time for a little more control over my day to day!”
How do you think Y&R will write out Ashley? Share your thoughts on Eileen’s decision to exit Y&R via the comment section below.
Perfect timing for Kristin to come back to Salem and add to Brady’s harem who are fighting for him. I expect Nicole back soon too. 4lovely schemers to add more chaos to Salem.
It won’t be the same jack needs his sister
Jackie needs his sister and so does her daughter.
It’s not the first time she has left the show,it’s happened before
Please write her out as a kidnapping, so she can have a chance for a return. Or make her richer than Victor so she can be the boss over the mustache.
Ashley Abbott , she is a nasty piece of work.
She’s the one taking down Newman Enterprise and she will exit by going to prison.
You heard it here first, folks
Ashley Abbott is the culprit behind the destruction of NE, wait for it.
I was thinking the exact same thing.
I don’t believe this, I think JT is alive. Heck, maybe Victor is doing it to clean house.
Oh, I didn’t even think of that, now, that would be a TWIST!
Not sure about that one, SUOO. But I was thinking (and hoping) that Ashely geared up the whole Jack paternity story. Ashely was deeply emotionally scarred upon finding out that she’s not the biological daughter of John Abbott. She deeply resented Jack for being the CEO of Jabot Cosmetics and never forgave him for the blood Abbot clause. I think she took advantage of her mother’s ramblings and tampered with both the DNA test results to get back at Jack and to possibly take over Jabot cosmetics after Billy does away with the blood Abbott clause. This would not be the first time Ashely tampered with DNA results. Billy thwarted her plans by actually digging his new role as the Jabot CEO and now she’s banking on his propensity to self sabotage. When the truth comes out Ashely will be sent back to the loony bin and Jack will be sent back to his rightful seat as the Jabot CEO. This is what I HOPE will turn out anyway because I hate that they have also taken Jack away from John. First they kill of John Abbott, then they make Ashely illegitimate and now they are tying to do the same to Jack. The Abbotts are now on the endangered species list. Moreover, I hate that they have Jack acting like a silly lost boy looking for his daddy at the tender age of sixty-four.
And! I hope Ravi isn’t helping her..
((I would have Edited that one line into my post if the edit button was available to do so Before it gets posted.
hi Michael–
I have seen the edit button but it is quite useless when your mistakes are up to be seen until you correct them AFTER your post has been posted..
and then after correcting your mistake, the correction would not be seen until near 24 hours after.
((I think the board is updated twice in 24grs.))
The edit button should be available as soon as you see your mistake Before its posted, not after..
\but the edit button should be available for both before the posts is posted and after. IMO..
Thanks for the comeback, Michael..
)ooh mercy! unless my mistakes are totally awful they will most likely stand as is..
It could make for some fun reads 🙂
((luvin the new site ))
I HOPE SHE RECONSIDERS FOR SHE MAKES THE SHOW WHEN SHE IS ON. SHE PUT HER ALL IN WHAT SHE DOES AND IT IS SO SURPRISING HOW MUCH HER AND ABBEY FAVOR EACH OTHER JUST LIKE MOTHER AND DAUGHTER. I HOPE IT IS A JOB SOMEWHERE ELSE THAT IF SHE WANTS TO RETURN THEY CAN BRING HER BACK
Must you shout????
Jude is trying to assist the hearing impaired.
That really sucks , she is a staple of the show , come on y and r , what r u doing?
I think she will go to a branch of her company in Europe.
Wow this is sad news, I love miss Ashley Abbott. Eileen will missed. Will they recast?
Y&R is going downhill, who will be leaving next.
Rumours are Eileen wanted a pay raise, wow this is the worse news ever.
Will be sorry to see you go. Have followed you for a long time. Can’t wait to see what’s next for you.
Going to miss her. I have been a fan since she started on Y&R. I hope this doesn’t mean the end of the Abbott family. Jack is already claiming the Chancellor name and Tracy is hardly there. I noticed lately that Eileen’s screen time has diminished in the past few weeks. A sign of things to come, I guess?
Very SAD news…I love Eileen Davidson ever since she has arrived at Y&R…such a beautiful and classy lady…Eileen, you will be missed and I wish you nothing but the best in the future…
She us with Newman Ent and today Victoria offered her the door if she wanted to go and avoid the scam. So she just might. Just walk out with her head up high
This is sad news. I’ve always thought Davidson and Ashley Abbott were huge assets to the show. Davidson will always be my favorite actress to play Ashley. However, with her choosing to leave, I would hate to see Ashley go as well. Jack is never as compelling a character without Ashley around. I would welcome the return of Brenda Epperson to the part. Epperson did a great job in a tough situation — taking over as Ashley went Epperson quit in the late 80s.
If she’s leaving Y&R, then shouldn’t she be going to Salem…. instead of some random recast?
He will do fine!! I hope he can find a role that finally suits his gender!! Seeing him play a women for 36 years is getting a bit tiresome. Lol.
Lord…..that is such an old, made-up, out of left field rumor. If it were true, more power to her because she is one of the most in demand actresses of daytime!
What a nasty, uncalled for comment.
Eileen is one of the most beautiful and talented women in daytime or primetime.
Guess I’ll be tuning out of Y & R. Eileen is the only reason I watch the show. TPTB have not given her a substantial storyline in ages. Yes, she is a part of The Abbott family and their storyline(s), Dina’s storyline, and Jabot; but, she hasn’t had a love interest in YEARS. & I didn’t care for the “Graham” storyline.
While I’ll miss seeing Eileen on Y&R, I am in complete support of her leaving a show that only rarely gives her decent material. It’s been 4 years of arcs that never really get off the ground, so it’s time for a change. I don’t know how Ashley will leave, but I wish Eileen the best of luck in the future.
Yeah, Eileen jumped the shark when you cheapened herself by doing the Housewives show. Regardless, she has not been featured on Y&R in years so the loss doesnt shake me.
The character has not had chemistry with anyone since she came back Ashley has turned into a shrill spinster can’t believe she got a Emmy for that this year ugh! Beth Maitland acts rings around her ! Goodbye
I hope they recast her. If they can recast Billy and Adam they can recast Ashley.
