Stacy Haiduk To DAYS As Which Of Eileen Davidson’s Previous Roles In Salem?
Those who were expecting to see Eileen Davidson immediately jumping back to her old stomping grounds at Days of our Lives, now that she has opted to leave The Young and the Restless, found themselves in a bit of state of confusion today, when multiple reports surfaced, including one by Daytime Confidential that had Stacy Haiduk already taping scenes at the NBC sudser as one or more of Davidson’s previously delicious roles.
Haiduk, who was previously Daytime Emmy-nominated for her performances as crazy Patty Williams on The Young and the Restless, has reportedly been working at DAYS as a recast for potentially … Kristen DiMera … Susan Banks … Sister Mary Moira, … Thomas or Penelope Banks?
DAYS longtime favorite, Brandon Beemer (Shawn) reacted on Twitter to the DC post saying about Haiduk, “And she’s so good!!!!!”
Fans also need to remember, DAYS tapes six months ahead of air. The show has not confirmed Haiduk’s appearance, nor has Stacy publicly made an announcement confirming that she is taking on the role or roles previously played by Davidson.
So, what do you think of the casting of Haiduk? Share your thoughts via the comment section. below.
Sorry but Eileen Davidson is the only one I would accept in.any of those roles!!!
I absolutely agree. No one can replace Eileen.
You have give a chance to Stacy Haiduk in that role ! She is really, really good actress, in my opinion much better than Eileen Davidson 🙂
Soap roles are not untouchable at the end of the day. It’s a business, and business-wise, they needed one or more of those characters, and Eileen was unable to return, so they recast. Stacy Haiduk is quite an accomplished actress in her own right, and she will do just fine in any of these roles. No one bitched this much when they recast Susan a few years back.
I bitched when they recast Susan for those couple of episodes….. No one can replace Eileen in those roles.
Sorry but, they did. And it worked for those episodes.
Not in my opinion. Don’t speak for me.
Did I speak for you? No, I did not. Not at all did I.
She is a fabulous actress. I loved her as Patty. She plays crazy really well.
I think she is an excellent replacement! She sure is an awesome actress!
Since she does crazy as good as she does, I say she would be a good Susan. Just to start. Then work her into the other characters. Maybe she can show us just how mean, mean, mean Kristen can be.
Susan…
She plays a “psycho” really well but the other characters I do not think so.
Eileen Davidson has left Y&R…. so there’s no need for a fake Kristen.
Stacy was hired prior to Eileen’s exit from Y&R. Plus, Eileen’s statement makes it pretty clear she doesn’t want to be tied down by work right now and wants freedom in her life.
I love her! This is good news any which way you present it!!
I want Eileen!!!!! I’m willing to give Stacy a chance. What choice do I have?
Having watched Y&R, I must confess that I’ve never enjoyed Stacy Haiduk’s work. There’s no subtlety or humanity to it. These qualities are necessary to make all of Eileen Davidson’s characters work. Additionally, Eileen Davidson has a 25 year history with the Days audience, knowledge of her characters that is unparalleled, and chemistry with other Days actors that cannot be replicated or replaced. To put it simply, I feel that Stacy Haiduk does not have the talent needed to pull this off — and even if she did, it will still pale in comparison to anything Eileen Davidson would have done.
Also, I question the quality of the arc Ron Carlivati has created here, particularly since it sounded like Eileen was crucial in ensuring her previous return as Susan had balance and nuance. Given that the show would need permission from Y&R to hire Eileen for the stint, why commit fully to this storyline before knowing you will have the appropriate actress for the role? Why carry on with the arc as is when the fundamental ingredient is missing entirely? The motivation for this seems more ego driven than a desire to do what’s best for the show. How unfortunate.
Totally agree about what you said about Eileen, I couldn’t have said it better myself.
Stacy is a wonderful actress, looking forward in seeing her in her new role on Days. Loved her as crazy Patty Williams aka Patty cake lol.
KRISTEN!!!!!
Nope!! Eileen Davidson is the one & ONLY Kristen [and company]. Rehire ED & reshoot the scenes!!!
What a loss for Y&R. They could have done so much more with “Patty Cake” I know she will do great things on Days or anywhere else. Good luck Stacy, I’ll be waiting for you over at Days to strut your stuff!
As much as I love Stacy, there is no way in Hades she can replace Eileen as Kristin.
No offense to Stacy, but I protest;…. and yes, too much!!
No way, no how…..there will be a rebellion!! LOL.
Seriously? C’mon, you guys, up there on Mount Soaplympus!! This will be the most disappointing happening yet. I do realize Eileen may not want to return to Days? …..so, in my opinion, for what it’s worth, just do not bring the character back, at all…..especially in the form of Susan. NO ONE can affect that character as Eileen can….nor own it !!
Its always been Eileen….so at first i was disappointed. But once Susan went into Marlenas party she quickly made me laugh and i really like Stacys portrayal.
Sorry, Eileen should be the only Kristen DiMera. Days, you should rethink this casting
