EP Ken Corday issues statement about new DAYS head writers!

Ken Corday, executive producer of Days of our Lives, officially announced today that Marlene McPherson (formerly Marlene Clark Poulter) and Darrell Ray Thomas have been named the head writing team on NBC’s longest running scripted program, effective immediately. The duo replace Dena Higley in this position.
Corday noted, “McPherson and Thomas will bring Days of our Lives back to its core values by telling exciting stories with a fresh and contemporary approach including beloved characters.”
As previously reported earlier today, McPherson and Thomas were former Associate Head Writers, under James Reilly at Passions up through to the end of the series in 2008. So, just how will these two influence story and character? Stay tuned.

Sydney Malekeh Joins the Cast of ‘Days of Our Lives’ in Mystery Role: Who Do You Think She’s Playing?
There’s a new gal coming to Salem, or is she new and a recast? That’s what inquiring minds from Days of Our Lives fans have been trying to figure out since the Peacock soap opera dropped an Instagram video heralding actress‘ Sydney Malekeh’s arrival in Salem.
The soap did confirm that viewers will first see Malekeh on the September 9 episode. In the video, Malekeh is seen going set to set from her dressing room and in to the halls of Days of Our Lives studios.
What we do know id that Sydney has been acting professionally for 6 years and had appeared on Grey’s Anatomy, Apple TV’s Shrinking and the HBO Max’s The Sex Lives of College Girls.
Plenty of Malekeh’s DAYS castmates jumped into the comment thread with positive emojis symbols or written excitement including: Paul Telfer (Xander), Linsey Godfrey (Sarah), Sal Stowers (Lani), Conner Floyd (Chad), Eric Martsolf (Brady) and Christie Clark (Carrie) and more now that fans will finally see her on-air. Since Days of Our Lives tapes 10-11 months in advance, Sydney would have started taping the show sometime back in 2025.
DAYS fans think perhaps because the actress’ name is Sydney that she might be playing the grown-up daughter of Sami and EJ. That character hasn’t bee on the canvas since 2021.

Peacock Hikes Subscription Rates for Fourth Time in Four Years; ‘Days of Our Lives’ Fans Sound Off
While recently the streaming service Peacock reported turning a profit for its first time since its infancy, now comes word that the company is raising their prices for all customers, and in some cases it stared today on August 18.
The news of the subscription rate increases marks the fourth time the NBCUniversal streaming platform has done so in four years. So, on August 18, Peacock is increasing the prices for new or returning subscribers and customers, while current subscribers will see the rate increase on or after September 17 depending on their billing cycle when they initially signed up.
Here is the new pricing to follow along: Peacock Premium (which includes ads) will be $12.99/month, up two dollars from $10.99; Peacock Premium Plus will be $19.99/month, up three dollars increase from $16.99; and the Peacock Select tier (which includes current and past seasons of NBC and Bravo shows but excludes movies, live sports and Peacock originals) will increase a dollar from $7.99 to $8.99/month.

SUBSCRIBERS CONTINUE TO PAY MORE ACROSS THE STREAMER LANDSCAPE
It was back in June that the streamer reported that aid subscribers were up to 48 million adding a 2 million net gain during Q2 in of 2026. The subscription price hikes are rampant now in the entertainment streaming industry where over the last two years for example, Netflix, HBO Max, Apple TV, Paramount+ have all raised their fees to consumers.
Peacock’s tier-levels feature not only Days of Our Lives, but reality hits such as The Traitors and Love Island USA, Bravo series, and a vault of Saturday Night Live, Law & Order, The Real Housewives franchise, and Below Deck episodes as well. Pecock Premium and Premium Plus subscribers have access to sports and live events, as well.

As Days of Our Lives fans know, the soap opera moved from NBC to the streamer back in September of 2022 after 57 years on broadcast television. When the news hit X on the price increase, DAYS fans had a lot to say about it. Here are just a few of the comments below:
“I can’t believe Peacock and can’t come to a deal with Cordya to air old episodes of #Days. That alone would bring a ton of subscribers,” to If Peacock actually cared about #Days of Our Lives, gave the show the budget it needs for better sets, cameras, background actors and enough time to tell proper stories, I wouldn’t mind paying more. ‘Veronica & Julian’ Feature Starring ‘Days of Our Lives’ Alums Nadia Bjorlin and Kyler Pettis Releases Key Art and More (Exclusive)
In the upcoming indie feature Veronica & Julian from director Otoja Abit, two former Days of Our Lives stars, Nadia Bjorlin (ex-Chloe Lane) and Kyler Pettis (ex-Theo Carver), headline the drama feature in this story of a May-December romance that faces challenges along the way.
Veronica & Julian centers on a confident and successful marketing executive (Bjorlin) who winds up falling for a younger aspiring architect (Pettis). From there, a journey of desire and self-discovery is set against the backdrop of present-day New York City.
The cast also includes: Blake Jenner (ex-Glee), Erin Cummings, Chrystee Pharris (ex-Simone Russell, Passions and Queens of Drama), Robert Lee Leng, Mark Famiglietti and Jennafer Newberry.

THE THEMES BEHIND VERONICA & JULIAN
Director Otoja Abit shared this statement on the feature film, “Veronica & Julian is about the right people who have a chance meeting at the wrong time. It’s a look at two people who don’t grow apart—they just grow up. This film is an authentic exploration of an imminent ending and how two people deeply in love got there. It aims to be quiet while telling a relatable story about modern-day relationships.”
Abit continued, “As a society, mainstream romantic films are often delivered through fantastical aspirations. I created this film believing that viewers who have experienced a breakup can relate to Veronica and Julian, depending on their perspective. They’re a couple navigating some of the most familiar obstacles in love: miscommunication, timing and pride.”
He concluded, “It’s a story about endings told through the small moments we often don’t recognize until they’re gone. With the support of the Panavision New Filmmaker Program, I approached the story with a deeper sense of visual control while maintaining the naturalism that defines each character.”

NADIA AND KYLER GOT THEIR FIRST BIG BREAK IN SOAPS
As Days of Our Lives fans know, Bjorlin is best known for her long-running role as Chloe Lane. Nadia played the part from 1999-2023 with various runs in Salem. She is also known for her role as Lara in the Venice the Series since 2009. Nadia’s other TV and film credits include: A Murder Between Friends, NCIS, Two Broke Girls and more.
Pettis played Theo Carver on Days of Our Lives from 2015-2018 and earned himself a Daytime Emmy for his work in the now defunct Outstanding Younger Actor in a Daytime Drama Series back in 2019. His other TV credits include roles on: The Rookie, All American: Homecoming and Ray Donovan.
Veronica and Julian is written, produced and directed by Abit and produced through his Willful Productions alongside Kory Apton and Ian Phillips. Executive producers include: Nick Leicht, Gregory Sinche, Shelly Sinche, Torsten Sippel, Tim Freydberg, Ryan Schulke and Matthew Conlin.

I know its a different show, but i believe Y&R needs a better writing staff. However, I do love MAB as Head Writer and EP. I think Scott Hamner and Hogan Sheffer need to go. Also i think for y&r to be great again, they need to hire back the writers and staff that left due to Lynn Marie Latham. Also I would love to see Josh Griffith back again. I’d tell the new head writers of DOOL, to bring back Bo and Carly as a couple. They don’t always have to be blissfully happy…but I would like to see them together. I’d also tell them to work on the Dimera’s. How many times can Stefano create chaos in a Brady’s life and then walk away without any consequences. Focus more on everyday life stories and give up the crazy and insane stories like amnesia and cloning etc
Tell Will and Epic Love Story Were He Runs Off To L.A. and begins to fall in love and Chad follows behind him to confess his love for him and the two return to Salem in love and the guy follows behind them and cause problems for the Salem 21st Century Supercouple!!!!
I know the storyline will include Will with someone else but PLEASE let Chad be conflicted and jealous, even if he is straight. That kind of honest emotion would be profound.
That’s easy – write a real and complicated love story for EJ and Sami. It’s the best one at their fingertips and it would get a lot of fans to start watching again.

YAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!! Im so happy-maybe finally we can get a lovely, wonderful and romantic EJAMI story with NO INTERLOPERS. EJAMI are ratings gold and Im so happy that Higley is gone. DAYS has had awful writing the past year or two and hasnt shown any signs of improvement. They have been last in ratings for the past 7 weeks and maybe now we can have EJAMI please! Im going to tune in again especially now that the wonderful JACK IS BACK!
I’d like to see more of Bo and Hope. They are my favorites and I have been disappointed that they have not been on much.
Oh, definitely fix Bo & Carly first. They need a great, slow-building story that respects their history.

Not sure, because is it going to be another attempt to relive JER’s writing? I’m not a fan of his style of writing personally and the way Ken Corday have made negative comments of this style of writing and to bring someone who wrote during Days in the 90s and the whole Passions story-lines was STUPID, singing mermaids, devil doll, witches, etc…..and we wonder why soaps are being cancelled. They could go with some very gifted writers Sherri Anderson, Pam Long, Jeff Ryder (ie). Soaps are so far away from what made them good RELATIONSHIPS, RATHER FAMILY, FRIENDS, OR COUPLES. WHERE IS THE ROMANCE ON ANY SOAPS NOW DAYS. I’m simply tired of trying to support soaps and getting no kind of emotional attachments to story-lines today…except the Shane teen attempted story.
If they learned from JER they might be worth watching. I’ve always wondered why people talked so negative of JER’s writing. Yeah, it was wayyyyyyy beyond belief, but as I recall, it was under JER that the ratings were at it’s highest.
Unbelievable plots are part of the reason I like Days. I watch and laugh, and laugh and laugh!
Please…do NOT write ANY gay storyline for Days of Our Lives. There needs to be a soap drama that is FREE of this “in your face” propaganda.
There should be a gay storyline but who? Every soap has at least a gay storyline. It is an everyday life and might as well include this lifestyle on Days of coming out of the closet, dealing with homophic, dating and eventually & actually being in love.
As long as Days doesn’t get preachy or political with a gay storyline, I don’t see how it’s propaganda at all. If told right, you won’t even realize you’re watching gay characters. It just won’t matter.
Just because “every other soap opera” has a gay storyline, that doesn’t mean Days of Our Lives has to have one. It takes courage to refrain from such topics. Days of Our Lives was founded on Psalm 23:6. (Read Ken Corday’s book.) I believe Days can refrain and remain successful. I have read information about rewrites now that there are new writers. I hope the rewrites include removing any and all gay storylines.
As for Will Horton being gay, he is the LAST character who should be gay. Somebody in the younger generation of Hortons ought to carry the tourch of the type of love that existed between Tom and Alice Horton. The best candidate for that is Will Horton. The groundwork for that has already been laid in the relationship between Will Horton and Gabi Hernandez. Viewers have invested in that relationship. Why mess that up? That would be such a waiste!
There are enough artistic endeavors that serve the interests of the gay community. Crystal Chappelle has Venice. I understand this web soap is very popular and has been nominated for an emmy.
What is popular within the Hollywood community is not necessarily popular with non-Hollywood viewers. Other soaps that have had a gay storyline have bitten the dust. Why did those shows decline in viewers? Could it be that people outside of Hollywood do not want to be bothered with gay storylines? Why are reality game shows taking over? Could it be that Hollywood has incorporated so many gay storylines in primetime tv that viewers are finding viewing alternatives?
Many people in the daytime soap industry have lost their jobs…and that was BEFORE the cancellations of All My Children and One Life to Live. Is it worth putting more daytime soap jobs at risk for the sake of a gay storyline. If those persons who lost their jobs would be asked the following question, what would they say? Question: Which would you rather have, your job on your soap (with no gay storyline) or no soap (and no job) at all?
Days of Our Lives has a long and wonderful heritage. Ken Corday’s father created it, his mother ran and developed it, and now it is the hands of Ken. At the very least, it is a family legacy. At the most, it is an extended family of creative and hard working people that I am sure Ken Corday has grown to love and cherish even apart from his family legacy, and whose jobs I am sure he is eager to protect. Why would or should Ken Corday do anything that might put Days of Our Lives at risk? To ask him to do so is the epitome of selfishness.
Unfortunately, there are many persons who would expect him to do just that to serve their own agendas.
Bring back the Vets ! More Bo and Hope ! More Jennifer , Victor , maggie and more Horton’s Family member … the Love the Drama the Graet Party’s to Host for the characters to go too.
EXACTLY! Look at Twitter and FB, more people want the vets back than the new breed of characters they have churned out! Show Kate and Stefano, Victor and Maggie and the epic Bo and Hope. Get rid of the Hernandez clan, (Rafe can stay if they end this double crap completely!) Bring Jack back STAT and fix Jack and Jenn. Bring back Bill Horton to stir Stefano’s jealousy of his past with Kate. Bring back John and Marlena (but only if they WRITE For them!) Would love to see Steve and Kayla back as more than window dressing and a drop in visit from Shane and Kim would be fabulous! Lets write real stories, not I see someone on the pier and now I am totally in love with them garbage.
Please fix Bo and Hope! If we are going back to core values and Days heydey, we need to fix the mess that Bo’s affair caused, and bring back the true love story of Bo and Hope! Then fix Jack and Jennifer. Explain Bo’s recent behavior (since his break-up with Carly). Maybe he is having visions that something will happen to Hope, and he is scared to get too close. Then have him work proactively to change things. Maybe Jack was threatened to stay away from Jennifer, and is now back to reclaim his love. Finally, let’s get some young new characters the audience can invest in–real true love stories filled with angst and adventure like we used to have. The older generation can be involved in helping the new characters get together.
Wow, where does one start?? There are so many issues that need to be addrssed in this show. I think for starters all the current storylines are totally way off course from what viewers really want to see, that makes them feel good watching it. I believe that they have amazing talented actors, but the stories, couples, plot points etc are all so so wrong, old fashioned, recycled, predictable. Couples that work and have modern storyline potential are: Ejami, Bricole, Chill, State, Bope, Lexie & Abe. I want this show to start writing REAL stories, that viewers can relate to, like the kidds (johnny, allie, ciarra, theo imagine they could have great powerful story about bullying in school. Ejami could have couples therapy (iron out all their issues!!), Bo, Hope and Lexie and Abe could be dealing with the issues with their children, Hope and Lexie can become good friends, so Hope and Bo and talk about their issues from last 2 years. Kate and Stefano need more screen time, they are totally awesome and would love to see them dealing with Ej and Sami along with the very controversial growing relationship between Chad and Will!! Brady can be the rich, sexy bachelor both Chloe and Nicole can fight dirty over him?? Who will get the final rose??? LoL.. Ej and Sami could run their own legal office, and play rather dirty to win all their cases (you know forging documents, blackmailing witnesses, etc) so much fun!! These are all modern and fresh stories that would make this show arise out of these dark ages and into something completely new and orignal!! Thinking about all this potential gets me so excited for Dool!!
Please give us the back romance, adventure, and true everlasting love not these cheap tawdry affairs I am so tired of the has been interlopers such as Bo’s coming back. Give us back decent characters that we can respect the characters that we cheered for. Let’s keep the the good with morals and the bad guys without. Shades of grey is expected in both however the good guys well Bo at least is lacking the morals the made him a hero.
There are quite a few stories that I would love to see Days tell. Getting EJ and Sami back on track is the most important. They have the most epic love story Days has ever seen. We just need to get back to it. In turn, this should also lead to Nicole winning back Brady’s heart.
The other story I am dying to see, like it’s making me go crazy because there is so much potential is Chad and Will. I would love to see them discovering that they have feelings for one another and then fighting these feelings. There could be so much angst and passion with these two. They already have insane chemistry. They melt my screen just by sitting next to each other. It’s crazy. Then when they finally get together there’d be a new set of problems because of the DiMera/Brady dynamic. This story would be incredible and is comparable to EJami…and that’s saying A LOT!! If Days wants the biggest bang for their buck as far as a gay storyline is concerned…no, as far as any epic love story is concerned, they need to go with Chill.
EJami, Chill, Bricole, State, Magic, Bope…that’s where the gold is.
I am also very partial to Dario and Melanie. They have amazing potential but even if Mario isn’t the plan, I really hope they keep Dario around for a long time. He’s a fantastic character.
Why do people want EJ and Sami together? They aren’t good together. He’s a rapist and a sociopath. She reacts to everything someone does to her. It’s like fire and oil. Kaboom!!!! Every time they say hello to each other.
Please Please stop letting the DiMera’s get by with everything. NO NO DO NOT PUT EJ AND SAMI TOGETHER. I think Rafe and Sami make a great love story. Fire Jack as soon as he gets back. He had stupid story lines. Let Melanie and Dario get together, keep the bantering between them going, I love it. Let Nicole be lonely the rest of her life just like Viv in fact she can be the new Viv.

No way EJ and Sami. EJ raped her THAT IS NOT ROMANCE! And he is a sociopath who got off hurting people. Dan is a pervert. Time to deal with the elephant in the room and have it come out that his behavior is unprofessional and disgusting. Let it come out that his behavior is chronic, and someone finally gets him for this.
Jack is actually being held and his rescue makes for a big story. Jennifer will have to deal with her stupidity for not ever wondering why the walkabout, blogs and ashram did not make sense, and that no one ever talking with Jack was a neon sign. Jack will be bitter and back to Jack not the JER and Langan versions — they did not like Matthew in the role and were always butchering the character for their underwear model du jour, Dena apparently flowed suit with Dan.
Jack needs to get his paper back, and be darker and cynical. Jennifer will have to fight for him.
Bo has to deal with why he betrayed Hope for Carly. And they have to also slowly work on their relationships.
Bring back some more Bradys and Hortons.
Get rid of Dan, Carly, all the Hernandez family, and Chloe.
There needs to be a new family, but create an interesting one, and hire actors not people who look good shirtless.
ITA with everything you just said! Jack was a great flawed, messed up character who I ended up really liking with Jen. She brought out the fun, silly side of him that I adored. They butchered my Bo and I am so glad that CC is leaving the show again. She was a hopeless replacement for Hope in the 90’s and an even dumber decision to bring her back. I want Bo to find out he had a tumor and made him pretend to love Carly! That way, I can forgive his stupidity and move back on with Hope and Bo together! Daniel is a pervert who horn dogs all over every patient he has! Address it, bring Mike back to fire his butt and get the orange glow man off my screen!
Would love for Bill Horton to come back and stir up trouble with Stefano and Kate and Victor and Maggie.
I really miss the great love stories Days is known for. The Jack and Jennifer days. They were the best couple and I don’t understand why Days wants to destroy them and their relationship all the time. The Daniel/Jennifer thing is just not getting it. Bring back Steve and Kayla, Shane and Kimberly. Do put Victor and Maggie together. I’m sick to death of Sami/ EJ/ Nicole/ and Brady. Bring us back the stories that had us hanging on until the next day! I still have the Jack and Jen story on video. Never erased it. I loved those days!! Thats what we the viewers want back! And the new Taylor is not a good replacement. The old Taylor was the best match for EJ. There is no chemistry between this Taylor and EJ. I will never understand why you changed her to begin with. Give us what we want and we will always watch!

I think the previous writing Team at Days has SUCKED big time over the last 5 years. With a few other SOAPS out of the picture, I think DOOL and Corday have an opportunity here. I would reconcile the Super Couple – Jack (Matt Ashford) and Jennifer(Melissa Reeves). Begin here and build some believable story lines. It really is not Rocket Science. I would love to see the Deveraux family get back to their normal selves, and when I say normal I mean, having Jennifer quit acting like a teenager and Abby bashing on her Dad and also having Jack and Jack Jr back so they can all resolve some issues and get on with some exciting adventures that await for this fun loving family…that’s I what I want to see..adventures and a bit of romance for the adults and Abby without them all acting out of character like the writer’s have had them be for the past six month’s!!!!
I did mean romance between Jack and Jennifer, there was nothing like a bit of good ol’ romance between these two and it would be great to see that again!!!
Fix Jack and Jennifer! I don’t understand why Days has been trying to destroy this power couple. They were/are one of the most popular couples on daytime and there’s still a huge fanbase for them! Theirs is a story that has spanned 20 years and it’s based on love and romance…not just sex, which there is more than enough of! Melissa Reeves and Matthew Ashford have amazing chemistry together that is hard to find…let them show that! Make her fight for him and bring back some of the angst that was there when they first got together. Then bring on the banter! They are truly entertaining! So tired of Daniel, he and Jennifer could not feel more forced! Jen belongs with Jack, always has and always will. Give him the paper back and let them chase some stories like the old days.
Give Jack back his newspaper and Matt the respect he deserves as an actor. Jack and Jenn belong together but Jenn will need to win back his heart and trust after once again betraying their love and marriage for the first pulse with abs she laid her eyes on. I want to see story lines that will take advantage of the amazing talents of Matthew Ashford and a love story between Jack and Jennifer worthy of the awesome chemistry between the two actors. I also want to see the littlest Deveraux come back to town to develop a relationship with his father. Jack is an amazing father which opens the door to so many different story lines with his kids.
Excuse me, Jennifer is at fault for Jack’s behavior? Since when? He left her. Took off to “find himself”, didn’t communicate with her for years and she’s supposed to just let him do whatever he wants and accept him back. I don’t think Jack needs to forgive Jennifer. If he wants her back, he needs to prove to her that he’s reformed and stick to his commitment to his family. Not take off when things get hard or he starts feeling the wonderlust.

I’ve been watching since 1965, when the show started. So I really do understand what has happened through the years with Jack and Jennifer. The phrase “he plays her like a well-tuned violin” comes to mind, and as a strings player, I understand that, too.
I’ve been watching DOOL since the first episode, Yolanda. I just have a problem with men who leave their wives and the wives take them back, which is Jack’s pattern. It shows women as needy and weak and promotes the idea of men being given carte blanche to go to whatever they want. Not a good family value at all.

Keep Sami & Rafe together and let them be happy. Have EJ and Stefano get busted and off to jail. Have Victor and Maggie have some happiness. There is no chemistry with Daniel and Jennifer. Put Daniel and Carly together. Let Nicole be unhappy for a while. Let EJ lose his kids for awhile. See Viv backing no reason for her to be on the show. Have Chad find out what kind a man his father is. Let Taylor find out what all EJ has done. EJ raped Sami why would she want to be with him.
I think Daniel and Jen have plenty of chemistry together. At least if I really believed in “chemistry” between two fictional people on a TV show I’d think that. Since I don’t, and I’m more than tired of Carly, also more than tired of Jack the lame (sorry his behavior toward his family is unacceptable) I like Daniel and Jen together.
I can’t even begin to see what anyone likes about Daniel/Jennifer. It feels so very forced, and I can’t believe how Jennifer’s just hunky dory moving on. I think her character’s taking a bigger hit here than Jack’s. Jack’s got issues (part of why I love him), but he’s been nothing but faithful to Jennifer when it comes to loving her and only her. I don’t buy the walkabout thing after all J&J went through in the 2nd run to be together. So he left in 93 because he felt guilty and unworthy. That was a long, long time ago. The other time he thought he was dying anyway. It’s not like Jack has ever wanted to be away from Jennifer. If they stick with the walkabout thing, I’ll be very annoyed. But I’ll still have more respect for Jack than for Jennifer and her divorcing him without talking to him and falling for Daniel, who belongs in the woman of the month club.
Jennifer tried to talk to Jack. There’s no response. She’s given him plenty of time to respond. I liked it when they got back together before because he seemed to have really shaped up from the wonderlust filled boy that he had been, but taking off “to find himself” is just what the old Jack would have done, so it’s seems Jack’s gone back to type. That’s not being a man. That’s not taking responsibility for your life and caring for your family. Jen’s done what she could to talk to him since he left with no response from him. So if he doesn’t respond, even to divorce proceedings, what does that tell her? That he doesn’t care enough to fight them. So I’m not sure I agree that he has never wanted to be away from Jen. He keeps leaving. Now if they come up with some really great reasons for him leaving, kidnapped by Viv and Quinn with Stefano rooting them on in the background, or Andre masterminded the whole thing or something like that, I’ll accept Jack’s return, but so far the kid’s acting to type and they’re really gonna have to sell me on the reason he should just be accepted back by Jen. Like I said, I’m a strings player and if Jen just takes Jack back because he found himself, well, I’d like my fiddle to be that well tuned.
Can you please, please, please, bring back more Hortons, the family this show was based upon from Day 1 and today there are hardly any Hortons on the show at all. Ridiculous! Also, please get rid of Dario–he’s annoying and serves no purpose. Having a possible romance between him and Melanie is ridiculous! You should have kept Nathan and had him and Melanie get together–it’s what everyone was waiting for once she realized Philip had cheated on her. But for some odd (and inexplicable) reason, you got rid of both of her romantic interests (Philip and Nathan) and bring on some idiot loser (Dario) with a bad attitude and try to make a romance happen between him and Melanie. It would also be awesome if you could bring back Kayla and Steve (Patch) and Kim and Shane. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest although I’m sure the writers will ignore everything I say.
I wasn’t waiting for that. Nathan was a nothing character. Melanie isn’t, and Dario hasn’t been around long enough to decide about yet.
Please bring back Marlena and John. I miss them so much! The new Taylor sucks as this character. Bring back the original Taylor.

Sami and Ej should have a huge wedding at a church and have some former stars as wedding guests like Kimberly Brady.
Make it more about family. Dario’s okay, btw, now that the actor’s gotten more into the groove of the part. Taylor (or at least the actress now portraying her needs to go bye-bye. The first one was better. Make …the show funnier again. I’d love to see Shane back. You’re great in the role, Charlie! And last but not least, Thao Phenglis needs to come back to the show. Who says Tony or Andre is really dead? They’ve been dead before and they’ve come back. . .

I just wont to add that i feel that everthing that Patsy pease and Charles Shaughnessy gave to this soap back in the day it is only right that Kim has that chance to come back and so how strong she really is she has given us some of the most amazing acting that any one can and so has Charlie these two could never let you are the fans down go back and watch some of the old story’s and you well see they are so powerful total amazing.

Give EJ & Sami a real love story, and please, for the love of all that is Holy, bring back Tony & Anna and Shane & Kimberly. Anna’s disappearance was totally dropped and I think it’s time for it to be addressed. Shane & Kim’s last appearance was so rushed. We need to see them working through their problems and working their way back to each other.
EJ and Sami can’t have a love story if EJ is in jail where he belongs. Besides, as I have noted before they are a horrible pairing. There is nothing that brings them together other than their kids, and despite the common “they need to be together for the kids” tripe that I keep hearing, that’s not a good reason for a couple to stay together. Especially if one of them is a sociopath, a bully, a rapist, a criminal and a philanderer. All of which EJ is. I’m not giving Sami a pass. She’s a very flawed person, But there’s been amazing change and growth in her that will all go away if EJ/Sami happen.
Sami is every single one of those things you call EJ so … And there definitely hasn’t been any growth considering she shot a sleeping man in the head a few months ago. That’s fine though. You have your opinion and I’ll have mine.
Yeah. She shot a sleeping man in the head. The man who raped her, lied to her, kidnapped her child. . .If you read my post, I nowhere claim perfection for Sami. She reacts without forethought to everything that happens to her. Unlike, EJ however, she recognizes and admits to her faults and is actually doing much better than when she was younger. Should Sami have shot EJ? No. On the other hand, he shouldn’t be running around as a free man in the first place.
Bring Anna back, too. Along with Tony/Andre. They bring so much to the show! I’ll mitigate my statements about Jack by saying that if he comes back and he and Jen get back together, there has to be a really good story in place, not just some wonderlust that took him over. That’s been too much of a pattern with Jack through the years and he should be growing up by now. He had a wife and family and they were supposed to stand for commitment, true love, family values and all that. Just having him wander back into Salem after traipsing off to find himself for a few years doesn’t really work.
I would like to see Shane and Kimberly (Charles and Patsy) back, front and center where they belong!
I want Nathan brought back onto the show. I believe that Nathan and Melanie were perfect together and their split didn’t feel natural for the show.
Charles Shaughnessy and Patsy Pease need to be brought back as Kim & Shane. They were MAGICAL!!!! The few scenes they had last year proved they still have it. Bryan Datillo, Christie Clark and Patrick Muldoon need to come back as well. They need to ditch new boring characters and focus on the vets. Bradys, Hortons, Dimeras, Kirikias, Family is what this show was about so that’s what it needs to be again. Remember the 80’s and early 90’s? Days was amazing then because they had mystery, adventure, romance. They didn’t have musical beds, they actually took the time to build up love stories and took the time to really develop their characters. BRING BACK DAYS TO ITS GLORY DAYS!!!! Ditch newer characters (Like Melanie, Dario, Rafe, Chad, etc) and bring vets back front and center. I’m also sick of The EJ and Sami Show. EJAMI is the downfall of Days, Sami belongs with her Soulmate Lucas.
Fix Chloe! She was such a great character as a kid and now as an adult she’s ruined. Reestablish her relationship with her parents and have her learn that she’s more than a body with a voice.
Please bring back Shane and Kim. Charles Shaughnessy is great to watch. Shane makes a great couterpoint/partner to Rafe, they worked well together. I also thought Shane/Charles was great with Mary Beth Evans, although I know the transition to her was originally too quick to be believable. Great writing will solve anything.
I think if the ratings were huge back in the 1980’s then they need to go back to story lines more similar to those. Appealing to the younger crowd is obviously not working, there are too many other things for them to watch, like reality TV. Those of us who rushed home to watch the Days we had taped loved the romance, the angst , and the glamour of the soaps. We also liked the sense of family that it brought. I really was sad when Tom Horton died, he seemed like a grandpa to me. We liked that Shane went with Kim, Bo went with Hope etc. They could try all the other combos they wanted but you always wanted them to be together. I don’t even watch soaps now but when I do tune in I see this one go from this bed to this bed to this bed. Now there was some of that going on back then but mostly everyone had someone else that was meant to be.
I think they could do something really interesting with Andrew, after all his father was a spy you would think he would have some adventure in him. He was such a popular baby with the whole kidnapping etc, there are a lot of people that would like to know how he grew up. I think it would be interesting to do a middle east thing with him held hostage and Shane having to go into deep cover to rescue him.
The main thing I want to see is a good story for Jack and Jennifer to reunite. I would very much like Jack to have a darn good reason for being gone and to go back to being a bit dark after he is disillusioned after returning to find that Jennifer divorced him and moved on with Dr. Feel Good, not to mention everyone else completely writing him off. Jennifer can then realize that she might really lose the love of her life (yeah, that’s Jack) and then I’d like her to have to fight to get him back. I’d rather Jack not grovel and compete with the Jennifer boy toy of the month this time. I hope Jack is written more like first run Jack.
I’d also like to see the characters that have been so quickly thrown into everything but who are weak characters ousted (Daniel, Melanie, Rafe, Dario, Gabi, Taylor . . .). The show will always need some new characters or Salem will be more incestuous than it already is, but these characters are not working.
Also, I still like EJ and Sami, though I feel like their characters have been severely tarnished these past several months. I hope their characters can be salvaged, and I’d still like to see a love story for them.
How in the world is Melanie a weak character? Or most of the others you list, for that matter. Unaccepted by viewers because they are not “members of long established families” yes. They are. Weak characters they are not. Nathan and Stephanie were weak characters. The others, not so much.
All these vets coming back are great for all the viewers older than 40, but, it will not bring in the new viewers. Days would have done fine without Marlena & John – the writers just SUCKED! The show is ridiculous – FAFE, turning Chloe into a hooker, ruining characters – Jennifer, Kayla, Carly – the show is all about Sami now. They’ve had one horrendous storyline after another – starting off with Nighttime Hope, Organ Stealing, FAFE….this is what has tanked the show. Then you throw in adding actors that can’t act on top of some long time actors that can’t act….ugh..frustrating. I fast forward through 90% of the show now. Can’t remember watching a full episode in YEARS!

Here we go. Days thinks it’s Glee, but more preachy and less subtle. The plugs for gay support groups and shoe-horned comments about gay marriage are as patronizing as the embedded Midol commercials! A gay storyline is great if it’s well done, but I fear the writers will continue their finger wagging at the expense of what soap opera fans watch for: pure entertainment. If Corday wants the new writers to take us back to the show’s “core values” as he’s said, he’s going in an odd direction. Old-school viewers (and all those Catholic Bradys and Hortons) aren’t going to be swayed by Soap writers’ moral agenda, and they’re more likely to tune out. More-enlightened viewers are going to be annoyed by writing that’s better suited to a PSA, and they’re more likely to tune out, too. Please, please, make Sonny an interesting character who happens to be gay, not the star of an after school special.
EJ and Stefano is not going to jail. Bo and the rest of the Brady family has a vendatta against them i know EJ did was wrong in the past and making them miserable but the brady family have their own agenda including Sami by attempted murder on EJ i hope EJ will use anything and the tape to expose Sami for it. Brady Black i want you to know Will is responible for Arianna’s death not EJ he is trying to help Arianna from Will. And now one of the inmen in his cell knows Rafe Hernadez that’s why he is dead and he is not witness protection candidate.

We want see more airtime for Jack/Matthew Ashford get him away from that shrew Jennifer let her have daniel and leave the show they are boring. I want more airtime for Jack dealing with his PTDS and bonding with his children and new love for him because I am sick the writers making painting Jennifer as this innocent witch on the show all the time. I want Jennifer feel that she really has lost Jack to someone else and fall of her pedestal and get her fiestiness back and win her soulmate Jack back and dump Daniel.

It is big fallout there is no Jack for next two weeks I am sick of writers having him just interact with Jennifer, Abby and Dr Scum and not enough airtime. I think Marlene needs to be fired soon she can take her honey Dr Scum with her I cannot stand the pimping for him it is time for him to go and let other characters on. I want see Jack not just about whiney Jennifer and Abby I want see Jack with others and maybe new love for him because I cannot stand Jennifer anymore she is shallow fickle witch I think that Jack deserves better storyline and better leading lady he has been through enough of Jennifer torture.
