‘General Hospital’s’ Adrian Anchondo Speaks Out on Marco’s Intentions Towards Lucas After Pivotal Scenes Air
As previously reported, the Monday, February 16 episode of General Hospital brought with it a major moment of truth and confrontation for boyfriends, Lucas Jones and Marco Rios. The scenes were emotionally fraught and played to perfection by Van Hansis and Adrian Anchondo.
Lucas finally gets Marco to admit what he is really up to by having them living together at Wyndemere, and how he is working with his nefarious father, Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota), in return for his father’s help in bringing down the man he blames for his mother’s death to his knees, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
Throughout their on-screen relationship, GH viewers have wondered if Marco’s feelings for Lucas are genuine, since Lucas has basically turned his back on anyone who warned him about Marco and living at Wyndemere including his sister, Carly (Laura Wright).

Taking to his Instagram after the pivotal scenes aired and sharing most of the video of the scene with his followers, Anchondo captioned the video clips with the following comment, “Love hurts This was one of my favorite days on set with one of my favorite actors. For everyone that doubted Marco’s intentions and feelings for Lucas, here is your answer. Love is so complicated, especially when mixed with feelings of remorse, guilt and a lack of closure. Will Marco get the justice he seeks? Or will he give it all up for love?”
In the key dialog, a gutted Lucas tells Marco on not listening to the warning of his sister, Carly, “I turned my back on her and I never had to. I believed every lie you told me, no more.” Marco responded, “I never lied to you about my feelings. I love you Lucas. I want to build a life with you.”
Next, Lucas says, “We could have done that on the mainland. You have been manipulating me this whole time. I did not move to this Godforsaken Island because we were taking the next step. It was so that you could have easy access to your dad to carry out what is it that you’re extorting Britt to do for you.” However, an anguished Marco sees it differently and responds, “I brought you to Windermere because I wanted us to be together day in, day out. Don’t you see … I risked everything for you.”
The question posed by Anchondo in his post does have General Hospital viewers concerned for what come’s next. What is going to be the upshot from this turning point in the relationship of Lucas and Marco? Where do they go from here? Is Lucas just going to keep Marco’s secret … or find himself caught in a web of lies he cant get out of …. or is someone going to have to silence him for his knowledge of what is truly going on at Wyndemere? Stay tuned!
Check out the full scene again by clicking through Anchondo’s IG post below.
Now weigh-in: What do you think will be Lucas’ next move? Keeping everything quiet and still trying to believe in Marco’s love for him? Is Marco going to give up his thirst for revenge on Sonny for Lucas? Share your thoughts via the comment section.

Adrian Anchondo and Van Hansis played exceptionally well off of each other in these scenes; however, the writing is on the wall for Marco, I do fear.
Marco
This was Hansis’ best material since joining the show. He communicates so much with body language.
Would be nice for Lucas to let Britt know he’s willing to help her.
One, two, or all three of these male characters won’t survive through the spring:
– Marco
– Chase
– Kai
I can’t wait for Chase to receive his comeuppance. He deserves a very hard fall after the way he has been setting up Micheal.
Loved the way Tracy called him out on Tuesday episode.
I suspect that Chase is about to find out what it feels like to be falsely accused. It’s no secret to anybody how desperate he has been to pin Drew’s shooting on Mikey.
So now that Nathan has shown up at the Q mansion, and Mikey willingly handed over his keys without incident, it should be obvious to anybody with two connected brain cells that Mikey had no idea that there was a key to Drew’s house on his keychain.
But Wiley saw Chase playing with Mikey’s keys in the Q kitchen. And he’s going to mention that to somebody. Probably to Mikey. Or possibly Tracy. And Chase is going to look really guilty of “planting evidence”. Even though he’s not the one who planted it.
So Willow… in her effort to frame Mikey has also framed Chase, accidentally. And should they even bother to attempt to charge Mikey based on this flimsy “evidence”, we all know Diane is going to have those charges dismissed immediately. Because she knows, for a fact, who shot Drew.
So if Chase is accused of planting evidence, will he get kicked off the PCPD for real, as opposed to being demoted to “beat cop”? Will BrookLynn dump him for trying to frame her cousin Mikey? Or will Chase finally put the pieces together, realize that Willow is just as crazy as her sister Psycho Nelle was, and get himself a needle full of the same stuff Drew got, when he goes to confront her about it?
I mean, let’s face it. Being a uniformed cop is nearly always a death sentence in Port Charles. Just ask most of Maxie’s former boyfriends. Or Rory & Dex, for that matter.
Great summation, Satan. Thank you. And honestly, if Michael shot Drew, wouldn’t he hide the house key rather than put it on his key ring?
Oh Satan ! I would love to see Willow stick Chase with a needle in his neck, and see him lying there, as she confesses all her crimes to him.
Alexis knows Willow is a “murderer “. So, shouldn’t she know better than to allow Willow to care for Drew? Isn’t Alexis, herself” committing a crime?
No. Alexis is not committing a crime. An attorney only has a responsibility if they know their client is going to commit a crime – not a crime that was committed in the past.
She tried to kill Drew but that’s okay with Alexis
—not the point. I know how the law works. My parents are both attorneys. It has nothing to do with the law, but everything to do with what is right. Willow is dangerous. Who’s next? Michael? Anyone who she thinks suspects her? It’s a matter of conscience. This is a stupid plot and it has gone on waaay too long.
You asked if Alexis was committing a crime. It seems to me that your question was answered but you didn’t like the answer.
It is a soap, which often does not represent the real world. Since your parents are attorneys, have they read your comment? I would think they believe in the law regardless of what might be considered “right”.
Yes she is and deserves some payback for withholding evidence in an attempted murder trial.
Alexis was schooled by Diane about how her job was to defend her client to the best of her ability and that she could be disbarred if she revealed what she knew about Willow’s culpability. Strictly speaking, Alexis broke no law.
Let’s hope Marco shoots his father dead defending Lucus. Then Marco can be cleared of Sidwell’s murder and they can have a life together.
Sidwell solution is always just to kill anyone who is in his way, it would be only fitting for Marco to take Sidwell out.
That’s my hope. Some way to redeem Marco. I know many don’t like him, but I do and want him and Lucas to have an ongoing relationship.
There’s many who started out liking Marco but see the writing on the wall – there’s no future for the character. Even if he does in his father, that leaves him with no family on canvas.
Lucas is sticking around. Hansis is a good actor. There’s opportunity to bring in a new gay character that has some sore of connection on the canvas. (And by saying new – that does not include Brad).
From your lips! Please no Brad!
Maybe Dillon Q has realized he’s bi?
Agree, no more Brad
I’m trying to think of a “GH legacy” character they could bring back. Maybe it’s time they brought back the REAL “TJ” – Thomas Hardy Jr, the son of Tom & Simone Hardy.
Steve & Audrey would have another grandson represented on canvas. It would make total sense that he was a doctor, given who his parents and grandparents are. Elizabeth would have an actual relative in town. And he would be in approximately the same age group as Lucas give or take a few years.
I like that suggestion. Have him be one of the characters who gets called by their last name so to avoid confusion with TJ Ashford and (should he ever return) Tom, Sr.
Lucas and Marco are so dull together. I pray this mess of a storyline ends soon. Maybe if they try hard they can salvage something of Lucas’ character which has just become “raging moron” since meeting Marco.
Excuse me? Lucas and Marco are anything but boring. Both actors are bringing their A game to the table and the writing and direction are in lock step. Some might argue that they’re star crossed lovers given their family’s warring dynamics.
To each their own but me and everyone I know who watches the show all agree those 2 can cure insomnia.
You should get out more.
they going to have to kill lucas. he know too much
That’s what I’ve been thinking. But Carly will somehow save him
I think Lucas should have walked away just from the knowledge about Brett & the revenge against Sonny . However Lucas originally put that idea in Marcos head about Sonny. Carly knows he is in danger and Sidwell will try to kill Lucas. When Lucas confronted Marcos & Lucas took his hand . I was very upset. The guy is a liar and ruthless like his dad.
Does Carly even know about Marco’s revenge plot against Sonny, who is wrong. His Mom suicided herself.
On the subject of Chase. I hope Michael’s son tells that he saw Chase doing something to his dad’s keys . I also hope Drew somehow over comes Willows attempts to keep him drugged and gets his revenge on her. And Brooklynn ditches Chase. This entire story line is dragging out far too long. Time for Willlow to pay. Michael to be exonerated, and Chase to permanently lose his job through exposure.
Wiley will definitely share what he saw. No doubt. And Chase will get fired – for the act of Willow. As he promised (& broke), Chase should’ve just stayed out of it.
Right. Even though he didn’t plant the keys, he deserves to be fired for breaking the chain of evidence. And that might be the last we see of Chase. I’m old enough to remember good cop, Chase who was in a relationship with good school teacher, Willow. I liked them both in those days.
I’d love to see Lucas forced to marry Marcos and live in a mafia world with violence , intrigue and infidelity
I love Van Hansis because he can act the other one Adrian something just looks likes he’s acting.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS
Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
