GENERAL HOSPITAL: Cameron Gets a Gravesite Visit From Zander; A Very Preggers Brook Lynn Returns

By Michael Fairman

Tuesday’s episode of General Hospital revealed the return of Chad Brannon as Cameron Webber’s deceased father, Zander Smith, as well as the return of Amanda Setton in the role of Brook Lynn.

In story, an emotional Cameron (William Lipton) is overcome by all the loss in his life as he visits the gravesite of his biological father, Zander Smith, on the heels of losing his stepfather, Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth).  As Cameron looks at his father’s grave he goes on to say that he finally had a complete family unit for it to be taken away like everything else and everyone else he has cared about in his life including his friends, Dev and Oscar.

Cameron begins to lament what would life would be like for him, if Zander would have stuck around, instead of getting himself shot at such a young age.

Then, Zander appears to Cameron stating, “I get it, it’s all my fault.”  Cameron goes on to tear into Zander about the way his life ended, while Zander thinks he can still teach his son a thing or two, but Cam says he had the chance to be his dad and really blew it.  No matter what, Zander explains, “I will always be your dad.”  Zander understands that Cameron is angry and feeling all hope is lost, but tries to rally his son to not give in to that way of thinking, because he has so much potential.

Zander truly does not want to see his son give in to the same impulses that he did when he was young and that he wants Cameron to make the right decisions while at this crossroads in his young life.  As Joss (Eden McCoy) and Trina  (Sydney Mikala) show up at the cemetery, the ghost of Zander disappears.  Joss wants Cameron to stop the pity party as they all have been there, and all have lost people they love, but shares that they will get through it together. Cameron looks back and sees his father as he says he is loser just like his dad.  But, Trina and Joss tell Cam they don’t hang out with losers as Zander looks on.

Elsewhere, Brook Lynn, who is hiding outside the Q mansion, comes inside once alone with Michael (Chad Duell) and reveals she is pregnant.  Michael figures out the baby daddy is Valentin (James Patrick Stuart), but Brook Lynn is not sure if she will even tell Valentin.  Michael warns her that she will be playing with fire with Valentin if she is not truthful.

Finally, Maxie (Kirsten Storms) has realized she is in a bad, bad way with all the creepy vibes she is now getting from Peter (Wes Ramsey).  She knows she has to protect her unborn child any way she can.

So, what did you think of the scenes between William Lipton and Chad Brannon? Are you happy to see Amanda Setton back as Brook Lynn? How will Maxie get away once and for all from Peter?  Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

Excited for Brook Lynn to come back. Hope Amanda does well, but she’s only there because Frank wanted to give his old friend from OLTL a job instead of contacting Adrianne Leon in 2019 when she was talking about coming back.

You don’t know that. And, in no offense to Adrianne León, she never lasts long in the role. I do feel as if recasting was a solid way to ensure a potential long-term return of Brook Lynn. Admittedly, however, I slightly preferred Brianna Lane in the role, so it’ll be an adjust to seeing Amanda Setton again.

Fair points. I have seen lots of evidence that Adrianne wanted to come back and was never contacted. Two of the three times she left a soap role, it wasn’t her choice. Briana was awesome as well and hopefully Amanda can do well.

Cameron (William Lipton) is an excellent actor–
He needs to pull out of GH and fly!
He can be among all the great actors if he doesn’t
fade away stereotyped in a soap opera..
And happy that Valentin will be upfront in a story, hopefully.
GH is really going onward with great stories.
Looking forward to upcoming episodes.
And–
Y&R is bad, really bad, it stinks of bad..
GH puts Y&R to shame–

I guess. Cameron seems a bit overwrought and cheesy to me.

Sorry SuOOO, but I think Days takes the prize on bad. If you don’t watch it, you aren’t missing a show that used to be really good. Very sad.I agree about Y&R. I wish I could just pull the plug on that one, but sadly haven’t got the strength.

I think Cameron “seeing” his dad was just the excuse he will use when and if he starts acting out to say like father like son. With Franco gone from his life, I expect to see a big change in Cam, and it won’t be a good one. Hope I am wrong.

The highlight of Wednesday’s memorial show was seeing Luke Spencer’s grandson (Aiden) call Scott Baldwin grandpa.

Well played by all. Kevin, Terry and Epiphany should’ve been at the memorial, but otherwise nicely done.

Actually that made me want to vomit harder than my demon employee made Linda Blair do in “The Exorcist”.

Laura sitting right next to the kid on the couch, as he calls that serial killer Frodd his “dad”??

I think it’s great that Laura & Scotty are friends, given all the history, but the total erasing of Lucky from that family is 666% dragonshit. He’s the one who should have been talking to Cameron, not the ghost of his bio-dad who was in Hell before Cam was even born.

Why should Lucky be talking to Cam, whether dead or alive? They aren’t related. I did not see Zandor, so no nothing about him, but if you say he’s in hell, must have been a bad, bad person.
I hope Iam wrong but I think they are paving the way for Cam to start acting like his dad did. I also read somewhere that he’s leaving GH, which I’d rather have than him stop being the good, loving kid we know.

Zander wasn’t a bad guy but, Jason, Sonny and Skippy (Courtney )are. Skippy killed someone and Jason framed Zander for her crime in order to save Sonny’s little sister. Zander had no money, no legal
representation or parents to defend him, so when the police zeroed in on him, he felt helpless and committed suicide by cop. I liked Zander.

Lucky was the only father Cameron ever knew from birth up until the time he was SORASed to be a member of the Frodd Fan Club.

When Aiden was born, Lucky told Cam, that while Aiden was his biological son, he would always consider Cameron to be his “first born”.

The Valentini regime has trashed Lucky’s character to prop their pet serial killer. Who is now dead, thank all that’s unholy. Time for Cam to get a visit from his real father (DNA not withstanding)

Lucky was trashed long before Frank Valentini came along.

That’s true. Garin Wolf, who was the short term head writer between Guza & the OLTL regime was the one who had a sick mission to destroy the entire Spencer family. Wolf is the one who made Lucky a crybaby who literally abandoned his family on Xmas Eve.

Valentini & his former sidekick ReRon only made that worse by bringing back Lucky as part of that ridiculous exit story they wrote for Luke. The only good thing that came out of that story, is that Lucky was the one who found his son Jake and was able to bring him home. And then of course he disappeared again. Yeah, Jonathan Jackson was doing a prime time show at the time, so it would have been hard to keep Lucky on canvas. But they could have done better than “Oh well. Hey Liz, here’s our son who we thought was dead. Why don’t you raise him with that dude who you think is Jason (but really isn’t) and I’ll just go back to Ireland and cry some more”.

And the day “Nashville” stopped filming, somebody should have been in contact with JJ. If they had to fire most of the post-2012 newbies to afford him, then that would be a wise business decision. GH needs the Spencers, and Lucky’s kids need him. They never needed a “reformed” serial killer (or actually the rapist Todd Manning using the name of a dead serial killer)

Steve
I thought it very appropriate seeing as how the kid had a no-show father and grandfather.
He was lucky, no pun intended, to have Franco and Scott, who lovingly played those parts.

Chad Brannon has aged beautifully! He’s a solid actor and when I heard he was coming back, I was hoping he was playing Zander’s long lost brother. Remember, that horrible Courtney killed her sleazy strip club boss and Jason framed Zander in order to protect Skippy. Courtney willfully went along with it. This is what led Zander to commit suicide by cop. Another reminder of why I always hated that twit Courtney (Skippy) and why I continue to hate Jason and yes, Sonny. And now Jason is now being blamed for Franco’s murder?
Good.

Welcome Back! Welcome Back! Welcome Back Zander!! Like Father Like Son! Great Job Zander and Cam.

Nice to see Zander. He was good with Cam. Wish they had more for the actor to do to stay. Speaking of, good to see Brooke back. The girl who subbed for her did a really good job. I was hoping they could bring her back as a different character?

I do concur, Timmm. I also thought replacement Briana Lane had a nice friendship vibe with Chase. Wouldn’t mind seeing her again.

Brook Lynn seems to be putting it all out there(pun intended) to anyone who’ll listen to her pregnancy news. Also, are we sure it isn’t Julian that’s the dad?

I don’t know,Violet. But why did the prop department put an exercise bouncy- ball in Brook Lynn’s shirt? I fully expect her to give birth to a hundred pound baby.

Harry, thanks, I can always count on you for a big “belly laugh” and yes, I expect her to go into labor on the spot.

Yeah, I’m guessing they’re going to write in a “twins” storyline here. She’s way too big for that to be one kid.

How long before the brain mapping mad scientists kidnap the babies so they can see how well their procedures work on a fresh new set of identical baby brains?

I hope one of the babies will be disposable if that obnoxious brat Charlotte has any say about it. That selfish kid keeps getting worse every time we see her. First she had to share Lulu with Rocco, now God forbid, Papa will give some attention to someone other than herself.

After today, I don’t think there are ANY babies. Not the way she was being so evasive when Maxie & Britch were asking her who her OB was. What visibly pregnant woman would NOT want a doctor for her baby? Probably one who’s hiding some sort of a pillow or beach ball under her shirt, which wouldn’t give a very good ultrasound reading!

So Charlotte will probably be happy in the long run…. that is unless Brooklynn ends up stealing Maxie’s baby. Which is the type of thing that usually happens on this show (and has already happened to Maxie before.)

Amen, Violet. I’ve never liked that character. She’s been trouble from day one. My quandary over her custody would be who gets stuck with her!

Soaphound, probably a new Lulu by then or Nina, if her bad luck holds out, ha.

Now they have poor Cameron writing love songs to dead serial killers… while failing to acknowledge the fact that any musical talent he has, probably came from the only TRUE father he ever knew. And his name was not Frodd. Or Zander.

For the love of all that’s unholy, it’s time to bring back Lucky Spencer to rescue his family from the remains of Frodd Madness. If that means they have to fire every post 2012 newbie to pay Jonathan Jackson’s salary, so be it.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
