GENERAL HOSPITAL: Luke He Comes Face To Face With Helena … Or So He Thinks!

On last Friday’s episode of General Hospital, Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) was not doing very well.  In fact, he is dying and is desperately looking for a cure that only Jerry Jacks supposedly has!   Luke now is on the very creepy Cassadine Island, looking for Mr. Jacks.  And once knocking out one of the guards  to  gain access to the maximum security area, Luke thinks he sees the footsteps of someone coming towards him.  And he’s right, well sort of.

In a shocker for fans.  in walks Luke’s mortal enemy Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers).   While at first viewers may have thought that Helena somehow survived her “final” fate, and is indeed alive, in turned out that Luke was just having his most frightening hallucination of them all!  Next, the vision of  Helena tells Luke to join her in the grave and promises to end his suffering.  The scene was very in line with all Luke and Helena scenes, even with the now staple creepy kiss between the two! Helena kissed Luke, but it’s still very dark and twisted and delicious at the same time.   At the end of the scene, Luke refuses to go with her, while Helena promises he’ll see her again, because he is going to die.

Now on today’s new episode, fans are awaiting to see who else walked in that could be on Cassadine Island that Luke saw, but the audience didn’t!  Tony Geary is once again showing his acting chops, and we can’t help but wonder, could some of these upcoming scenes actually be strong material for him for next year’s Emmy race?  We shall see, because anything he does pretty much can turn into gold!   And, how great though was it to see Constance Towers back!

So we ask, what did you think about seeing Constance Towers and Anthony Geary again in scenes?  Are you glad that as of now Helena is still really dead?  Or, were you hoping that she was alive?    Comment below!

Im glad she is finally dead she gives me the creeps. On the other hand in the world of soap opera any character can come back to life.

I love Helena. I hope she eventually does come back from the dead.

Please stay dead Helena, and lets get this story done soon, Great that Robin will return but lets get going !! And Britt’s baby’s paternity needs to be revealed right away too….this is getting old, let those kids have their own babies ! I really need a job LOL !!!!!

Another great episode…dead or alive it was good to see Helene…did Dr. O take baby Ben like i predicted?…Robins back(but i knew she’d be in the last scene)…Maxi, Spin, Dante and Lulu…loving the suspense…cant wait for next episode!!!

Oh yes, jimh!!!! The magnificent, malevolent and mirthful (grand)mutta was in the triumphant thick of things today, and it was diabolically delightful!!!! Definitely worth the wait, although I have so missed her pernicious presence…it’s been torture waiting for the obtrusive Obrecht’s return! Being on the lam must have agreed with the shadylady scientist because she looked so youthful and rejuvenated….she had a real glow about her! (Perhaps she should bottle her anti-aging remedy?….Would sure beat that cheesy CoeCoeCosmetics/ spa stuff that loquacious Lucy is always hawking!) You could tell how much Dr. O. was relishing her new role with baby “Cesar” (Loved her priceless reaction to the name, “Ben…”) as she pronounced each malicious morsel of malcontentment to her daughter! (Delivered with great aplomb by the ALWAYS awesome Kathleen Gati!) It really was glorious viewing!!!! As for the “Heidi Klum” remark…Such fun!!!! Whatever transpires down the road with this superb storyline, “Cartini” had better create a way for our beloved vituperative villainess to retain a place in the GH hemisphere….she is simply inspired….and indispensable!!!!!! Long live Liesl O.!!!!!

If they are going to ‘redeem’ Franco with a brain tumor, they could do the same with Dr.O…would like Dr.O to hold a belated baby shower for Britt and the baby and invite Patrick, Robin, Maxi, Spin, Sapbrina, Anna, Duke, Felix, Brad, Lulu, and Dante…that would be an interesting party…just joking…lol

I kind of appreciate when characters die, they stay dead. I am not one for repeated resurrections. That said, I am not opposed to ghostly returns… and this Spencer-Cassadine connection was ghostly, ghastly, and creepy fun indeed!!!

I hope Ben isnt Dante and Lulus…that would give them a happy ending and story conclusion…the baby should be Dante and Britts…this could give Britt more story and complicate Dante and Lulus lives for years…also possible choice…Patrick and Britts…this could cause problems in the Drakes marriage, and give kim m.reason to sometimes leave the show to direct or whatever…other parents for Ben are Nik and Britt or even Patrick and Sabrina(that would upset some viewers…lol) or Patrick and Robins…also i want Britt to be Annas daughter…Dr.O carried her but Britts really Annas and heres the shocker…Faison is the father!!!

After witnessing “ShrewLu’s” absolutely bratty and possessive behavior with “Baby Connie,” (HATE the name….) I truly hope that she ends up with neither child. Her snotty behavior has become really predictable, and nothing about it is remotely entertaining. Even Dante has finally snapped out of his clueless, “proud papa” mode after today’s revelation, so hopefully we will be seeing the successful conclusion of this great parental charade very soon. As for “Ben” (Who will here to for be known as “Cesar” since he is now in the protective custody of his grandmutter…LOL) I still look for there to be some big twist to his true paternity….it would be far too cliche’ and convenient for the Falconeris to have a legal claim to Britt’s offspring.

There has to be a twist…Little Ben/Ceaser cant be Dante and Lulus…too predictable and boring…id even settle for the child being Dr.Os and Faisons…possible…Britt carried her own brutter!!!

“Brutter.” LOL….Would love to see “Cesar” have some Cassadine blood….that could serve to create a deeper bond between Nik and Britt!!! Other than that, I can’t imagine what could be more shocking. I don’t think Jerry Jacks could be the father with his current illness, and from what I read, he’s furious with Dr. O. for bringing the baby to the island in upcoming episodes, so that idea seems like a long shot. As far out as this storyline has become, I don’t believe that the love-crazed “Mutta” would have had her daughter carry her own father’s child…that is probably even toooo sick for her! (At least I hope so…there will be no redeeming our mutually favorite fraulein for future frolics if such is the case!!!!)

P.S. The only way I possibly could imagine Jerry as Britt’s “baby daddy” would be if he thought he needed some kind of transplant to save him….but that doesn’t sound to be the case given Robin’s “wonder drug!” Also, he maybe could have accomplished the same goal with the help of Jax or even Josslyn, so I cannot see the value of this idea. That being said, whatever Mr. Jacks has utilized up until now has worked like a charm…dude looked to be in rude health!!! On the other hand….there’s Luke appearing like death warmed over….

LOL…i was kinda joking about Britt carrying her own brutter…but it sure would be contriversal and disgusting…can imagined what other peoples comments would be if that happened…like the Cassidine connection…maybe Britt did carry a Cassidine baby that her mutter had an affair with a long time ago…interesting!

if memory serves me, the Spencer clan left Helena’s body in the cold room around the area where they found Lulu. Since they didn’t do a DNA test on the body, nor did they destroy it, I figured she was alive, somewhere. 🙂

I’m so over Luke. Think it was about the 250th time he did his annual faking-a-German-professor accent storyline that threw me off the Luke fan bandwagon.

Not me. I am still a fan of Luke!

I am VERY much over the cartoonish pointless Helena character…but I would love to know Constance Towers’ anti-aging secret! The woman is well into her 80’s and she looks awesome! She barely looks older than when she was on Capitol 30 years ago!

She is 80! Maybe it is time for Tony Geary to retire just silly plots every time he goes to Amsterdam it has put Jane Elliott/Tracy in limbo for years just retire.

Ya I can get behind that. Luke without Laura makes NO sense. This attempt to make Tracy into his soulmate is wrong and weird. I never loved Luke more than during the claire Labine years which ny apparently hated. Seeing a 65 year old man still playing action hero with the Cassadines is ridiculous.! He should be settled and happy with Laura by now. The mistake all these soaps have made (My name is Erica Kane) is writing 50 something characters as if they were still 20. Let them grow up!

here, here….

he’s good publicity for the show… and emmy nominations galore.

BUT.

I have to so agree… it leaves THE wonderful Tracy… too much in limbo….

damn you… GH… OK i curse you…. LOL

watching Tracy with Joe, Scully jr.. was deelish (delicious) and rabid… for Tracy to score

Tracy needs someone new…who is also into Monica…give these gems their own storyline!!!

I think Anthony Geary is a very good actor . And don’t think he should retire. He has quite a bit of emmy awards .. For his good acting ability. I like him and I want him to stay on GH !

Great to have Luke back on GH—anything’s better than the Kiki-Franco show.

I loved it!!! I love Constance as Helena… she is my favorite villian and I have missed her so. She is such a beautiful lady and I love her wardrobe!!! I hope we see Constance/Helena again!!! Loved it!!!

Agree he is excellent.

well………….

Helena and Luke are paired villain legends..

They have core history, and I love ’em both !!!

If I recall Stavros stashed Helena away and put her on ice…just as she saved his life. I don’t think she’s really dead!

Lulu was in such rage about finding out the truth about the baby. I thought she was going to bust a blood vessel. I felt sorry for Maxi.

I think Helena should have still survived because I think she should know how Nikolas was doing

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
