GENERAL HOSPITAL: Emma Wants to Save Anna, Isaiah’s Career is All But Destroyed, Joe Makes an Arrest
The Monday, May 18 episode of General Hospital brought with it a startling discovery, a new reality for one surgeon, a new cop on the scene, and a granddaughter determined to protect her grandmother.
First, Laura (Genie Francis) tells Mac (John J. York) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) that Anna (Finola Hughes) is in worse trouble than she was previously after she had Kevin to check on her while he was in Europe. They head out to update Emma (Braedyn Bruner) and Felicia (Kristina Wagner).
Meanwhile, Emma gets upset over Anna during a discussion with Felicia and breaks Anna’s favorite coffee cup. Emma is overcome with sadness and cries, trying to figure out how she is supposed to be so happy with Gio (Giovanni Mazza), while Anna is locked away somewhere against her own will.

BAD NEWS FOR EMMA
Laura and Mac arrive to talk with Emma and Felicia, and reveal how Anna escaped and made it to the border, but she was now in the custody of the French authorities and they are transferring her to a long term mental illness facility, which freaks out Emma just as Gio arrives. Emma runs into his arms. Laura says at this point, Anna needs a strong advocate and she will make a call on her behalf. (But to who?)
At the Metro Court pool, Curtis (Donnell Turner) is arrested by Detective Joe Fitzpatrick (Jonathan Bennett) after throwing a punch at Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson). Joe takes Curtis to the station where Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) tells Fitzgerald to remove Curtis’ handcuffs. Now inside the interrogation room, Curtis explains that he believes Isaiah left he and Jordan (Tanisha Harper) dead at the side of the road the night of the accident and provoked him.
BROKEN HAND, BROKEN MAN
Curtis just wants to put it all behind him and says he will pay for Isaiah’s medical bills, but Dante informs him, he is trouble and he needs to call a lawyer. So, he calls Jordan. Meanwhile, Isaiah gets looked at while at General Hospital, and his hand is messed up. He comes to learn he will need multiple surgeries not only for broken bones but two tendons were severed in the process. Isaiah realizes his surgical days are numbered possibility forever, if not for a very long time.
JOSSLYN FINDS ANNA’S MESSAGE
While being held hostage, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) tries again to convince Cassius (Ryan Paevey) to set her free. That leads into the two playing cards and Cassius asking Josslyn how she got into the WSB. Josslyn admits her boyfriend was murdered and she killed the person who was the culprit for retribution. She says she put together all the pieces that he did the crime, and now this line of work gives her purpose.
In the shocking final moments, after Cassius leaves for the night, Josslyn heads to the cot in the other part of the holding room and sees a hand-carved message on the wall from Anna that she was there and help captive on October 31, 2025. We fade to black.
So what did you think of the concern Emma showed for Anna, and the performance of Braedyn Bruner? What are your very initial impressions of Jonathan Bennett as Joe Fitzgerald? Which character is annoying you more in the story … Curtis, Jordan, Portia or Isaiah? Weigh-in via the comment section.
Braedyn Bruner was fantastic. My heart broke for Emma. I just hope that dhe can get Anna back home safely and soon.
I don’t like what they’ve done to Curtis’ character this year. The writers will have their work cut out for them if they try to write a redemption arc for Curtis. I know Isaiah shouldn’t have said what he said, but it doesn’t excuse what Curtis did. Curtis is unhinged.
When it comes to gh copying yr with Isaiah not being able to possibly be a surgeon even with gh having Nigel Campbell as a black writer on the show I felt a career change was coming for Isaiah before Portia had the baby Currently because the writers also wanted to have courthouse drama with Isaiah and Curtis characters currently
Braedyn continues to shine when given good material. Emma should be the lead female of the early 20s group.
Sawandi has a wide range and shows emotion in subtle, but noticeable ways. I care about Isaiah, who’s been in town less than two years, than I do about Curtis, who’s been in PC for 11.
As for Bennett’s performance, my initial reaction isn’t that great. Maybe it was first day jitters. Let’s check back in a few weeks before a casting a final decision.
She’s so good that she managed to make viewers realize how much they have missed Anna so a lot of cried along with her ( not me, of course!) Oh but that broken mug with the British flag on it that little Emma made for Grandma Anna got to me. I agree about Sawandi as Isaiah. He has an intensity and range that Donell just lacks. I think Bennett is just trying to find his sea legs. I haven’t counted him out yet. I learned my lesson after being too critical of Giovanni( Gio) who has turned out to be an amazing actor.
Poor Isaiah! I hope his hand is ok!
Joe is so cuddly!
Oy vey.
This sounds like the end of Isaiah’s surgical career. That is very said news since he is an international trauma surgeon. Which character annoys me most in this story? First and foremost Portia. Her bad judgement and lies set this freight train in motion. Curtis is next. He has absolutely no evidence linking Isaiah, a trauma surgeon, to leaving the scene of the accident. Curtis is just pissed that Portia did the horizontal mambo with Isaiah while she was still married to him. Get over it.
Detective Fitzgerald looks interesting. He looks like a no nonsense cop who doesn’t appreciate people who expect special treatment, ie Curtis.
How in Hell’s name does somebody break their hand in 11 places from a 20 second fight? These writers are really stretching with this one. As well as with Curtis’s over the top jealousy.
Curtis WAS one of the very few creations of the Valentini regime that was worth keeping around. But not so much lately. Seems like the current writers are going out of their way to throw him under the bus.
I agree that Curtis was once written well but he’s never been played well. DT has never managed to met the good writing afforded to his character and if he can’t meet good writing half way, how is he supposed to rise above bad writing? Since day one, Turner has been wooden, one note and marches around with his hands on his hips striking a pose. He has the good looks of a leading man but not the talent to make it work.
yeah Jonathan Bennett as Detective Joe Fitzpatrick didn’t make the cut in my book. His voice sounded manufactured and not authentic. If the character is gay, I hope he’s not paired up with Lucas. And, if the character is indeed gay, gosh, I wish we could have kept Adrian on as Marco. I’m not impressed with the Jonathan first episode. I rarely ever have such a gut feeling with a newbie like this. Maybe, the character is short-term, then okay, maybe… but I hope he’s not on contract, he bugs me the way in which the actor who paid Nathan now Cassius, and how his acting bugs them. Yeah, he’s wooden and his voice sounds off, too. Jonathan came across very wooden and dull, and the manufactured voice was weird.
Agreed
I agree that newbie cop did not make a good first impression. Seems like a carbon copy of all the things that makes Chase a bad cop.
Now get your own name, for Hell’s sake.
I mean, it just seems so unnecessary.
I’m an atheist, but I prefer the original Satan.
It will be Robin, I hope. Would be great to see Kimberly again.
I didn’t think I would like the pairing of Cassius with Josslyn, but they have chemistry. I know there’s a big age difference between the two characters, Paevey is like twice McCoy’s age…..but I like their interactions…as much as Kelly Thiebaud’s scenes with Finn Carr. I enjoy things I didn’t expect I would like, when they play out like this.
They’re both good actors, so I’m not surprised by the chemistry. However, I liked Joss with Vaughn and I would like to see him return. Perhaps it’s wishful thinking on my part. I would hope the writers have seen the fans’ comments about Vaughn resembling young Frisco. It would be nice if they wrote something in that direction.
Well, I’d like go see Joss with Dex, and would like to see him return .
I wholeheartedly agree! Those two had like magnetic chemistry….you could almost feel it yourself. One of the worst decisions the writers made was killing Dex off!
100% agree. Those two had magnetic chemistry…you saw it and you could almost feel it off screen. The writers decision to kill him off was one of the biggest mistakes that they made.
If we gave out superlatives at mid-year, the Curtis/Portia/Jordan/Isaiah storyline would hands-down be the worst. The audience could see Jordan took her eyes off the road to kiss Curtis. How are we supposed to be invested in a storyline with unhinged Curtis being obsessed with blaming Isaiah. I can’t wait to see him eat crow when he discovers it might have been BLQ or Charlotte. Please make this storyline go away and let’s pretend it never happened.
Emma had me crying right along with her, We both want Anna back and Braedyn Briner is a true talented fine. Jonathan Bennett I don’t know yet, to soon, I wasn’t impress but I’ll wait and see. as for which character is the most annoying, theres no competition here, its totally Curtis, how ridiculous went he yelled across the restaurant for Isaiah to his hand off his child, It was creepy and cringy,
Braedyn Bruner was fantastic in her scenes. Joe Fitzpatrick wasn’t written or performed very well, but we shall see if that improves. I wish this car crash ended as quickly as the murder mystery of Austin Gatlin Holt.
I can’t stand Jordan or Curtis, those two have it out for Portia and Isaiah like for real , they’ve turned Curtis into a thug and Jordan a damsel in distress.

Cassius gets very alarmed when Sidwell informs him in the Monday, June 8 “Next on General Hospital” video teaser, that, “Locating Britt is no longer a priority.”

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Cullum Kidnaps Obrecht as Britt’s Replacement to Finish Faison’s Final Project
WSB director Ross Cullum is truly as despicable villain as they come, and played with steely intensity by Andrew Hawkes. For the double agents latest crime, you need to look no further than the Friday, June 5 cliffhanger of General Hospital, where in the episode’s final moments he sneaks up on an unassuming Dr. Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) after hiding in the back seat of her car.
Next, he chloroforms her with his intent clear. He plans on forcing her to finish the last leg of Faison’s final project at Wyndemere, since her daughter Dr. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) left town with Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) in tow to get away from Cullum!
In what led to the kidnapping, Cullum had a terse conversation with his business associate and co-conspirator on the project, Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota). It is Sidwell who is preoccupied with wanting to bring Marco’s killer to justice (not knowing it’s the man right in front of him!). Sidwell told Cullum if bringing Marco’s killer to justice wasn’t a priority for the WSB director, then why should protecting Cullum be a priority for him?
SIDWELL VS. CULLUM
The two finally put aside their differences as they have to complete Faison’s final project for it will be highly lucrative for them, useful for their mutual gains, and groundbreaking. In order to do that they need a great mind with a scientific background to finish it up and get them to the finish line since Britt as disappeared.
Later, outside of “General Hospital,” Obrecht is headed back to her car after searching Britt’s office for any clues as to the whereabouts of her daughter. But when she got in the car to drive away, that’s when the aforementioned Cullum strikes!

BROOK LYNN GETS ADVICE FROM A FORMER ADULTERESS
In other key developments, after Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) keeps inserting herself into Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) life, all with the seeming pretense to pay back Chase for helping her clear her name at the trial, and standing by her, she brings good news in person about baby Phoebe’s adoption to Alexis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) law office to Chase. Once Brook Lynn heard Chase was on her away over with paperwork, she decided to hightail it out of there for an “emergency” appointment for Deception.
As we come to find out, Brook Lynn meets up with Lucy (Lynn Herring) at the Metro Court pool, She then proceeds to inform Lucy about Willow sniffing around he husband. Lucy says she knows a thing or two about being an adulteress. Brook Lynn wants Lucy to help her send a clear message to Willow to stay away from her husband, or else!
Now below, check out the scenes before Obrecht was kidnapped where she visited Willow, Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) and suspects Willow is up to no good.
Then let us know, with Lucy taking Brook Lynn under her wing, what plot do you think the two will come up with against Willow? What do you think will happen to Obrecht? With Lucas also at Wyndemere trying to bait Sidwell into an attempted murder charge, will he winds up thrown in the secret room with Josslyn?
