GENERAL HOSPITAL: Ric Unleashes His Wrath on Kristina and Double-Crosses Ava Leading to Deadly Consequences
In a pivotal episode on Monday’s General Hospital, the seeds are sown for someone to end up in the waters of the pier by week’s end. Will it be Ric (Ric Hearst), Drew (Cameron Mathison), or someone else?
Molly (Kristen Vaganos) comes upon Cody (Josh Kelly) and Ava (Maura West) making out, with him shirtless, when she shows up unannounced at the Quartermaine stables. Before Molly walks out on him, Cody explains that Kristina (Kate Mansi) paid him to seduce Ava because he thought she wanted her away from her father! Ava storms off in a huff as does Molly.
Meanwhile, Ric stops by to see Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) but finds Kristina there, who then accuses him of blackmailing her mother. Then, Ric launches into a full verbal onslaught of all of Kristina’s actions from the court case she lost claiming Ava pushed her out the metro court hotel window, to how selfish she was about the baby and her grief, and that she never planned to give up the child to Molly and T.J.

In addition, the two go at it about Kristina cutting the brakes to Ric’s car by mistake instead of Ava and how she should be in jail for attempted murder, but Alexis is always cleaning up her messes. Kristina defends herself by saying she wasn’t in her right mind.
Ric yells at Kristina that his daughter, Molly, would have lost the baby either way because of Kristina’s action. Seeing a sharp letter opener, Kristina goes to grab with the intent on stabbing Rick, but suddenly puts it back down. Kristina admits to Ric that she doesn’t want Molly to know what she did, and how she injured her father in the process, because she doesn’t want to lose her again after the two repaired their fractured sisterly relationship

All of a sudden, Ava shows up at Alexis’ front door looking for the legal eagle, but comes upon Kristina and Rick. Ava and Kristina go at it about which one of them should be rotting behind a jail cell. Next, Ric says the blackmail is officially over, he’s done. In fact, he emptied all of Ava’s bank accounts and more.
Ava loses it. She screams that money is from her divorce settlement. Rick gloats that he earned it. He took all of her money and there’s nothing she can do it about it. They each talk about betraying the other over blackmailing Alexis for part of the Cassadine Fortune. As he starts to leave, Ava hits him over the head with a round sphere she grabbed from a table; knocking him out with a bloody wound on the back of his head, as Kristina just stands there and looks shocked.

Meanwhile, the reason Alexis is not at her house is that she is meeting with Drew at the Metro Court. Alexis wants to find a path forward after their confrontation about Scout and feels there should be room for all of Scout’s relatives in her life. Drew is not having it, and just as she is talking has Alexis served with a restraining order to stay away from her granddaughter. Alexis is livid as Drew also informs her that Molly, Kristina and her entire family is getting served one too.
Nothing will stop Drew. He tells Alexis he knows that she was going to try to take Scout from him. Next, Alexis brings up Sam’s name saying she would want her children with each other, and he ripped Scout away from Danny. Drew says Danny is a thug in the making and Alexis tells him to shut his mouth, as Martin (Michael E. Knight) and Laura (Genie Francis), who are at another table and the pt patrons look on.

Drew calls Alexis a drunk, and he is much more fit than she is to raise his daughter. Then, Molly shows up and tries to diffuse the situation. Alexis tells Drew in no uncertain terms, that when she’s through with him, it will be like he never existed. After Alexis storms out, Molly stands up to Drew and tells him Sam would hate him for doing this to Scout.
Bringing the tears and the heartbreak was the pick-up of the story of Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) medical condition. Lucas (Van Hansis) informs the family that since Maxie is in a coma, GH isn’t equipped to handle her needs. He tells them about the best coma care clinic near Boston and says Maxie has been approved to be transferred there as soon as possible as a patient. Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) is beside himself, but Lucas (Van Hansis) promises sending Maxie to get the best care will be what’s best for her.

Courtesy/ABC
Next, Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) gets a call and tells Lulu (Alexa Havins) that Maxie is being moved to the coma care hospital today. They determine they need to bring Maxie’s children to the hospital to say goodbye. Lulu calls Cody and tells him to get to General Hospital right away.
Now it’s time for everyone to have their moments with Maxie before the transfer. Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) talks to Maxie and tells her how much he loves her. Lulu and Brook Lynn come to see Maxie and promise her they will look after her kids, and they will be waiting for her when she wakes up and returns to Port Charles, and that everything is going to be alright.

The biggest hankie-inducer came when Mac (John J. York), James (Gary James Fuller) and Cody enter to say goodbye to Maxie. First, Mac in tears, gives his love to her. James doesn’t know what to do or say, but he ends up placing Nathan’s police badge with her to keep her strong through her ordeal. Outside in the hospital corridor, Maxie is wheeled out and Felicia (Kristina Wagner) says her goodbyes. Next, Maxie is taken into the elevator leaving her family and loved ones devastated and praying for her recovery.

In Dalmatia, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) comes to see Jason (Steve Burton) and tells him he needs to leave, while he wants to know why she is there. Britt bad mouths Jason’s “date” named Greta, who she saw him with. He explains it wasn’t a date. They were each after information from the other.

Courtesy/ABC
Jason asks Britt to leave with him, and promised he’ll take her anywhere she wants. Britt says she’s not going back to Port Charles, and it hurts her to see him after how he dumped her for Carly. Jason stops Britt from walking out as they almost kiss. He says he will leave, but not before giving her a burner phone to call him if she needs him. he stops her before she walks out.
So, what did you think of Monday’s GH? What do you think will happen next to Ric Lansing? Will he survive Ava’s blunt force attack? And what of Alexis? She was heard threatening Drew! Will he find himself facing deadly consequences? What did you think of the scenes where Maxie’s family says goodbye to her … and what do you think is up with Britt Westbourne? Will she just let Jason walk out of her life while keeping his burner phone? Share your thoughts via the comment section, but first check out the confrontation between Alexis and Drew below.
Quite an action packed episode for a Monday!
Kristina Wagner continued to shine as Felicia dealt with her daughter’s predicament. It was nice to see BLQ and Lulu put aside their differences for a friend they both truly love.
Natasha Cassadine was spotted at the PC Grill! Her reaction to Drew’s ridiculous restraining orders reminds us that Alexis is not to be messed with. If Drew is incapacitated for a while, will the court award custody of Scout to someone with a restraining order out on them?
I still don’t think Drew will be dead. Would they kill off both of Scout’s parents within one year’s time? Over my 45+ years of watching GH, I’m not sure they’ve ever done that. More on that if it happens.
Rick Hearst and Maura West showed why each of them has 3 Emmys. Ric gave Kristina a much needed takedown while Ava. Further secrets will develop to protect Molly who would let everyone have it if she eventually finds out.
Lastly, Jason & Britt still have chemistry. Now, will one of them see Josslyn?
Sadly (and I mean this), I agree that the telegraphing of Drew pissing off pretty much every single resident of Port Chuck to set up a ‘whodunit’ will not end with Drew getting killed off. I am not happy about that b/c I really think it’s time for him to get his due. Equally sadly I have a feeling Ric is going belly up this time in yet another Ava murder. Surprise, surprise – Not.
Lastly, can we rename Cody the non-keeper of secrets? I mean how many has he spilled at this point?
#Dragon Chow by Labor Day.
Ric will have a headache but he will live to annoy more mortals in the future.
The congressman from Hallmark will not be so fortunate. He’s pissed off way too many people in too short of a time. And many of those mortals have made public threats against him.
We all know what that means. And the dragons are ready for Drew’s arrival.
Wow! What a great episode. Everybody brought their A-game today. And it was nice to see so many of the actors involved.
Color me impressed!
It was heartbreaking watching Maxie’s family saying “goodbye for now” before she went off to Boston. Everyone did a great job with those scenes.
Please, please, please let it be Drew floating in the water. I like Cameron Mathison but this character is so disgusting and vicious and destructive to so many lives that Drew has got to go. I think we have plenty of suspects for a very interesting murder mystery.
A “9 to 5” sequence would work well while the three have Ric tied up.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS
Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC
Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
