GENERAL HOSPITAL: Should Drew Get The Flash Drive Back, But Lose The Last Five Years Of His Life In Doing So?

On Friday’s episode of ABC’s General Hospital, Drew (Billy Miller) is faced with a dilemma that could change the course of his life forever.  It all comes down to DA Margaux Dawson (Elizabeth Hendrickson), and her vendetta against Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), and how she is leveraging her possession of the flash drive that holds all of Drew’s memories and the key to his past.

In a confrontation at the Metro Court, Drew comes over to talk to Margaux, where he says he is not sure why he hasn’t taken it upon himself to turn her into the cops.  She adamantly points out that she is an attorney, and that he has no evidence that could be used against her in a court of law.  While she goes on about making Sonny pay for what he did to her father, she tries to get Drew to come along with her in her vendetta.  Drew refuses, not because of Sonny or Jason (Steve Burton), but he does not want to do this to Sam (Kelly Monaco) and have Danny be without his father.

Drew then stands up to her and tells he he knows she has been manipulating him for months. Even knowing she has the key to his life with the flashdrive that hold all of his missing years, Drew tells Margaux that she can hold this over his head, but even if he had the flashdrive there is a chance that the procedure to restore his memories could go wrong, and the sad fact that in doing the procedure, he will definitely lose the last five years of his life and all of those memories with Sam and more.  He says to Margaux that those memories mean everything to him.

A confident and irritated Marqaux tells him she is sure he will want the flash drive one day and that he knows her terms if she was to give it to him – helping her bring down Sonny and Jason for the murder of her father.   Drew is left with a difficult decision, while Margaux gets into an elevator and begins to cry over wanting to avenge her father’s death.  But little does she know, that evidence could prove that he was not the man she thinks he was.

So this begs the question to GH fans: Would you like to see Drew retrieve all of his memories as Andrew Cain, at the cost of losing the last five year of his life since being in Port Charles …  or should Drew leave his mind and memories alone and just go forward keeping the last five years in tact, and foregoing what other important history in his life that he may need to know now, or in the future? If one presumes that it’s actually possible to delete/backup/overwrite/restore files on a mortal human brain as if it were a hard drive, then the obvious solution here for Drew would be to just overwrite the “Jason” folders in his brain with his own past life, and not touch the recent memories.

If brains worked like hard drives, I’d want to run CCleaner or Bleach Bit between my own two horns just to clear out a lot of old crap files that were no longer needed.

I agree with Drew’s decision to keep his current life. Margaux is clearly obsessed, nearly unhinged, about her daddy dearest and it would be a big mistake aligning with her. Drew is such a decent, sweet guy and wonderful Billy Miller makes him truly admirable and someone to root for. And I must say I’m impressed with Sonny and Jason not making Drew out as a threat or putting a hit on him — they’ve done mindless things like that far too often in the past. I love seeing Billy and Tamara Braun together in a serious, moving story. They’re two of the best. As long as everyone stays clear of Sam (The Mistress of Mumbles), their lives improve considerably.

Hi Soaphound. I really like DA Dawson and don’t find her unhinged at all. If I was in her position I’d be just as determined to bring Sonny down…at any cost. Bottom line, regardless of whether her father (or the man she thinks was her father, could turn out to be Scully) was a good guy or not, Sonny killed him. I’d be on that same mission to, pardon the expression, lock him up.

Yes let’s move this Drew story . Drew knowing his whole history may change how he feels anyway towards sam he may remember someone he loved in the past . Drew should want to be his own man not Jason.

Absolutely.. let’s move past this… ^^^^ ???? head scratcher…. as in Shelley and Chris “revisiting” their own obsession of Drew and Sam. DOA – DEAD. it sounds like he’s more invested in wanting to remember SAM . than Kim and Oscar. so this is just laugh out loud. per your post… it would seem that Drew would want to be his own man. OWN IT shelley and chris… WRITE… you have gold in Billy Miller… do not even go back and try and try again for naught to mixing him in with Carly / Sonny / Sam / Jason.. and even Franco.

Sometimes it’s very difficult to go against one’s principles. Drew risks regaining his past in order to stay true to himself…..that part of which he is now.
I think that, past or present, Drew’s integrity never faltered—whether his memories return or not. Fundamentally, this is who he is; was, and always will be.
So, no…..he should leave things as they are.
There is, also, the probability that he does not want to remember. Perhaps, in his sub-conscience he is afraid of discovering something in which is better left buried.
Off topic…..I heard through the grapevine that Ryan kills Kiki? I hope it is just rumor. Does Ava have a hand in this? If that’s the case? I will be done with GH. That would be absolute insanity…..mother against child?
Then again, Kiki is not her bio daughter.

Ryan is a sociopath who seems to be quite taken with Ava. He’s probably either going to try to kill Griffin and Kiki will jump in and get hurt or killed, or Kiki will be his target and he’ll kill her. He’ll probably rationalize that he’s doing it FOR Ava because they hurt her.

Ava would never physically harm Kiki. Never.

Hi, rebecca,
I was not watching at the time, but what is the story with Ryan and Felicia? Her name keeps popping up….I haven’t had a chance to check. Too lazy. LOL❤️

Hi, CeeCee; I’ve been watching GH on and off for decades but I think I missed years. So, as far as Ryan I honestly don’t even remember if I saw those episodes or if I just knew of them at this point! What I do remember is that Kevin had a psycho “evil” twin who committed several murders before he supposedly went up in flames (and everyone assumed he’d died all those years ago).

As for Felicia, from what I know is he was obsessed with her. When they met he was going under a different name. Somehow they wound up in the woods in a cabin and she witnessed him killing his wife. Not sure what happened from there but she then wound up with amnesia and when she met him in Port Charles didn’t recognize him.

I don’t know if he was born twisted or if his childhood created it but his mother molested him from the time he was a toddler and he wound up killing her. I guess his killing spree was born.

He planted a bomb at Felicia and Mac’s wedding…obviously they survived but there was some kind of fire/explosion and he chose to die rather than be locked up in the mental facility…which brings me back to Ava. Ava doesn’t have a mental illness; she’s a criminal ala Sonny, Julian, etc. And she thinks he’s Kevin. So, there’s no plan between the two of them to hurt Kiki. I’m sure she’ll be devastated/shocked if he targets Kiki.

If I’m wrong about the Ryan history and anyone else can help, feel free!

Thanks, rebecca….you have succintly explained to my satisfaction and understanding.
The script fits every other soap we’ve watched through the years. LOL.
As far as Ava, she is one of my favorite characters as is Maura who depicts her to the heavens. Soooo complex.
You’re right….she would never hurt Kiki. I guess I’m just frustrated over losing another favorite of mine. ….took me a while to get used to Haley after KA….but, I truly came to love her.
Alexis will be another of Ryan’s victims ( not kill her ), as he will play havoc with her mind…..He will exploit her vulnerability for whatever evil, crazy reason feeds his insanity.
I think Alexis is in limbo right now. She can’t seem to do or say anything right when it comes to her daughter.
I have come to like the character and appreciate her life-story…..and, as more of it develops, so will more of Alexis, the child, the teen, the young woman; the woman, the mother, the wife…..She will discover “things” /qualities about herself she has yet to realize.
If Ryan is the catalyst for it….more power to him, as ominous as his mentality is, LOL.
I just wonder if Ryan were brought in to get rid of a few characters, en masse? Who else besides Kiki is leaving?

Hey there, CeeCeeGirl!!!…I do so hope that Ryan has returned to Port Charles to do some major housecleaning….it’s been far too long since GH has had an actual serial murderer who took out a sizable number of major players….could the show’s dearth of deaths finally be concluding?? One can certainly live in hope! And Alexis as one of Ryan’s victims??? Oooohhh….she would be at the top of my kill wishlist!!! (Along with Nina and Margaux…) I realize for some reason which I cannot fathom that you’ve have come to appreciate this ignominious creature, but I just don’t see it myself…in fact, as I haven’t been able to bring myself to watch an entire GH episode for weeks now—-just snippets of the lovely Laura…—I’ve been keeping up via spoilers, and I almost fell off my chair the other day when I started reading a headline on another website which blared “Julian pumps Alexis…..(for information!) My initial reaction was Dear God, spare me…been there, done that!!! Of course, we both know that eventually these two will be back to their default setting of teenagers in high heat, but apparently, they’re still presently stuck on “low simmer” despite all the contrived excuses to place them in close proximity. No problem, but please make their sexual timeout last for as long as is humanly possible! As for Heather making a return engagement? Absolutely, YES! There is simply something unnatural about her lack of presence during those storylines of recent years which involved mysterious miscreants…no mental facility could ever keep the legendary “Webber Woman” locked away before in any permanent fashion,…so what gives??? I cannot buy that her skill set for subterfuge—-or gargantuan appetite for Kellys’ BLT sammies—- has slipped! We need another Heather pop-up out of nowhere..and soon! And speaking of a welcome sight for sore eyes….Hello, Britt!!! Can’t wait to see what is up with her since in just a few short days we can celebrate that “The Britch is Back,” especially if she deigns to reunite with her ever-awesomely evil “Mutter!” Given Halloween is just around the corner, it would be a perfect opportunity for GH’s best mother-daughter from h#!! to share a bonding moment! Paging Dr. O.!!!!!

Hi, Shaybelle,
I am so hearbroken over Kiki’s demise, I hope none of whom you mentioned is shown the door. LOL….
I like the idea of seeing both Heather and Britt…..yet, it would be a miracle for Liesl to make an appearance. Halloween would be the perfect platform; Yes!! A masquerade ball!! No one would be the wiser.
Forgiveness from the governor, no less, only applies to Sonny and company.
Soon, Shay.❤️

Well, I can certainly appreciate your feelings about Kiki, CeeCee….Her character wasn’t annoying hence she was not on my murder wish list…but I look at it this way, the actress who portrays her is going on to better things, so que sera, sera….best of luck to her! As for the others I previously mentioned??? Would be so glad to see them go…especially the gobby, obnoxious Alexis and her unnecessary political grandstanding. On the other hand, Heather and Britt, along with our beloved Dr. O., would bring on mega-outre’ excitement to GH…I’m all for it!!!!! Ryan can’t do it alone!!!!

TPTB are missing out on so many great comedic opportunities-
Dr. O. and Britt, Ryan (a menace to society, but funny in a way), Scotty, etc. Instead, they focus on the hum-drum Corinthos Clan and their rehashed/rehearsed storylines. Oh, and “Jasam” reading love letters to one another. How cringe-worthy was that scene?

Oh, yes, AVP…. I can visualize such hilarious-off-the-wall havoc with all the characters you mention.
The PTB, certainly, lost the opportunity in yesterday’s episode.
Jasam? Not for nothing, but this is the most boring couple to me—Sam brought Drew (as Jason) down, as well. Burton’s face looks like it belongs with the rest of the heads on Mount Rushmore–forever unmoving. ( No disrespect to our past presidents).
I am sure Kelly is not this boring in real life….so, bring some spark to the show.
But, I get it–she is surrounded by the most miserable group of characters on GH. The Corinthos seem to be a force to be reckoned with? Says who?
Did you notice how “un”-skillfully the writers skirted Sonny’s culpability by suddenly introducing the DA’s mother? Sure–so childishly transparent!! So, Sonny comes out clean, AGAIN??
Nine lives!!

CeeCee (LOL; not kiki) Sonny is still guilty. The DA’s mother (Scully’s lover) asked Scully to have her husband killed. But Sonny, as ordered by Scully, is still the one that pulled the trigger and killed him.

“Jasam” is boring. I have never seen the chemistry between the two. I always laugh when she pretends to be a P.I. and they tell her what a great P.I. she is-yeah, ok..

Exactly, AVP! I adore dark comedy, and one certainly cannot get any darker than Dr. O. and her female offspring! (Remember the awesome Halloween episode with Liesl and Caesar…Or Britt and that BBQ-ed babydoll??? That one was a real laugh riot!) And now with Ryan back in town, the possibilities for some really twisted humor are practically endless…Yes, please!

AGREED. But, why, oh why, do they have to ruin the Ryan storyline with Carly, the Parking Lot Hire, and that #insipidlulu? Can’t Lulu be on assignment? In Siberia?

At least half of the GH cast should be shipped to Siberia!

AVP: They weren’t love letters to each other; they were letters written between Scully and the DA’s mother which she kept all those years. They were looking for clues and found the one they needed in the letter: that the DA’s mom asked Scully to put out a hit on her husband (Marino, the DA’s father).

I was young during the initial Kevin/Ryan storyline; however, I remember it was written really well. I remember the wedding, and it being a “Friday Cliff-Hanger.” I love watching old clips on YouTube. Back then, you had character development, and story structure (setting the scene, building tension, climax, resolution, etc.). Nowadays, a character is introduced, and we don’t see them for weeks, only to forget about them (same with storylines). It’s hard for viewers to get invested.

I am so irritated that the writers shipped Mac and Felicia off onto The Love Boat so Ryan can re focus his psychotic energy upon Ava instead of Felicia. Both Felicia and Mac were integral parts of the Ryan story line. But to your point, Bec, no Ava would never intentionally harm Kiki. However, she never meant to harm Morgan either. Her reckless and impulsive actions often lead to fatal consequences.

Harry

At first, I too, was concerned about literally shipping off Felicia and Mac. However, since they obviously weren’t going to kill Felicia, Ryan needed to focus on other targets. She’ll probably be back before Thanksgiving, when this story likely reaches its apex.

Kudos to the writers, however, for successfully weaving Laura back into the canvas quickly. Her one-on-ones with other long term characters were nice to see.

Personally, I’m far more concerned for Laura’s safety…Ryan is going to be getting mighty perturbed that his “wife” is getting wise to his wily ways…she knows something ain’t right with “Kevin”…shan’t be long before his jig is up, and Laura has to rescue yet another husband from captivity. At least she has plenty of prior experience in that department…

Ava and Ryan are like two peas in a psychopathic pod…they truly do deserve each other!!! I should think after Ryan experiences her supremely sleazy self-centered scheming and scamming, then he’ll be all set to say “Bye, bye, Felicia!” She’s best left to that leisurely “Carnival Cruise” with her silver studmuffin, Mac!

Ha! Shay! There you are. Leave it to you to find a way to say,” “Bye Felicia.” Good to see you again. Hope all is well with you.

Thank you, Harry! Likewise!….I have posted to you on a number of recent, previous threads, but I guess you failed catch my complimentary comments. By the way, it has been an absolute pleasure to once again read your typically witty observations on a regular basis… .nobody expresses themselves in a more amusing fashion than you do, Sir!!! You’re the master!

That was meant to be “failed to catch….” Oooops!

Poor Ava, my lovely, Shay….. what have they done to my Bostonian lady?
I wish TPTB would make up their minds about this character—fluctuating between good vs evil and vice versa is giving me a headache.
Ava can’t seem to find a happy medium. Doens’t she realize that she does not need a man to make her happy?
Find yourself first, Ava…..
Perhaps, the character’s mind is being inundated with evil little imps for the sole purpose to turn the viewer against her?….. So that we will not care if she is one of Ryan’s victims? I hope not!! I love both Maura and Ava.

Ava won’t be a victim, Kiki. I don’t think Maura West is going anywhere.

LOL! I’m working while posting. I meant CeeCee.

That’s OK, rebecca…..I knew you meant moi… I’ve started calling my husband “Nico” ( my son’s name) and vice versa…..Too much stuff on our minds. LOL.

I adore Maura West as Ava Jerome! She is a hoot! She plays evil so damn well! I also love that she is a Bostonian!

Are you from Boston, AVP? My husband is from North Boston…..both he and I went to school in Boston ( Back Bay-Cambridge area).
I love Boston….amazing shops and FOOD!! Delizioso!! LOL.

But that is the dichotomy known as Ava, Cee Cee! One minute she can appear almost human and elicit sympathy….the next, she is back to her seemingly default setting of the vicious, avaricious Ava that always seems to conquer the momentary glimpses of those better angels lurking in her nature. I cannot imagine that ever changing…she simply is what she is…a true contradiction of terms. As for her not needing a man to make her happy? Finding herself first? That sounds exactly like my oft-repeated advice regarding Alexis!!! Perhaps these two lusty ladettes should form a support group…Lol.

Hey, Shaybelle,
Ava is exactly what every soap needs….such a character keeps the viewer on his/her toes.
However, a thespian needs to deliver—-she /he needs that certain air of “je ne sais quoi”, which generates interest and mystery to the character.
I think Maura West, as Ava, personifies “oxymoron” to perfection.
I cannot think of another actress who can execute such a role in a soap. Maura was just as good on Y&R…..her character, Diane, was killed off before Maura had a chance to prove herself.
❤️

@CeeCeeGirl…The soaps used to be chock full of fashionably ferocious female characters whose actresses delivered powerhouse performances with epic, femme fatale star turns…..sadly, such archetypes are not considered de rigueur in these more austere days of far less glitz and glamour….and more’s the pity! Having said that, I simply don’t share your Ava love…she annoys me to no end and I still resent the way she was insinuated into the GH atmosphere (as was Nina, Hayden, Kim and now Margaux…) I’m sick to death of recycled soap actresses from other daytime shows sucking the oxygen from the Port Charles canvas and destroying its traditional essence! They simply do NOT interest me! As for MW’s role as Diane on Y&R? I remember oh so well the original version—-as portrayed by Alex Donnelly—-and along with the late Terry Lester’s Jack, they were the perfectly-matched 80’s style wicked, illicit lovers…nobody could surpass their delicious coupling…although I did like Susan Walters as a Diane recast, but only because I enjoyed her as Loving’s duplicitous debutante Lorna Forbes, not to mention her many subsequently successful primetime roles featuring her trademark polished persona. Hence I would have probably deplored West’s take on Diane as much as I do her Ava Jerome. Simply put, she is just not my cup of tea!

Ava is not yet bad, nopers.
She doesn’t have a gun.
She used to be a cool gun-toting mama now ehhh..

GH has no evil bad,bad to the bone villains, they all are now
*lover’s and sinners*
and that is why GH bores the bejesus outta most..

bwaa Ryan is a cream-puff, nothing gripping about him, nothing at all, he’s a poor excuse as a dark bad guy.
I’ve seen people more viscous than Ray waiting in line at Starbucks, early morning.

I do believe that, su! Some people are simply unfit for human interaction before they have their early morning caffeine fixes!

yes!
Drew should 100% get his life back, beit bad or good.
It is best to have 30 years of your life than only 5 years.
Drew needs to find who and what he is..
There is 30? years of his life erases, years of love, family, accomplishments, a Military career of great honor, 30 years is near half a life time 5 years is nothing.

He needs his life..
He needs 30 years of ‘him’ back..
30 years vs 5 years- it’s a no-brainier, take the 30 years back, bad or good it’s what and who you are.

(( and he may not lose is 5 years, its assumed he could but not a fact its experimental ..

If you were in Drew’s place would you take the risk of losing the memory of your child been born.Plus Drew getting his memories back could be dangerous and could even carry the risk of him losing all his memories.

I’m not sure how to answer the questions being asked but I can say that I do love the character Elizabeth Hendrickson is playing. I have always loved watching her play any character on all the shows she’s done so any way the story goes is fine by me as long as they keep her around.

I agree. I really like her character. She’s got heart.

Agreed, James….brings me back to AMC and Y&R….always loved her!!

Love the actress but hate this character.

She kind of reminds me of a young Frances McDormand.

Margaux is almost as unnecessary on this show as Peter is. Hendrickson would have made a great Sarah Webber instead of an unnecessary character.

If Drew decides to not pursue his past, he should change his last name to Quartermaine to cement his place in PC.

YES! I am hoping that Peter is Ryan’s first victim!

I agree Steve, why not have her play Sarah.

where does this leave any kind of relationship.. potential, with either Jason or Drew… w/ Margo ? certainly seems like they are putting a kibosh on Margo future in Port Charles

??? what are Shelly and Chris “dreaming” up ? w/ the sorry execution of any thing Frank Valentini… this “stretch” of how lean the material is… Drew NEEDS to figure out if his imitation of life… of a lone 5 years is WORTH more than all his life prior AND what’s to become of his future ??? he has to question that ???? Kim and Oscar would be so excited happy and accepted . whereas we get to see sorry as Sam; who is so dour and lack . this is the life Drew wants? he never seemed happy with Sam… WHY would any man woman even.. want to live life not knowing who they are ??? GOD .. Drew is seeking out answers and of course the dullard Corinthos’ clan all chime in.. and give their two cents… Jason / Franco / Sonny / oh my god how cringeworthy is Carly. MOVE ON DREW… GET A LIFE

Steve—what happened to Peter? Suddenly he’s all sweetness and light. He went from being brooding Heathcliff to suddenly being sunny Richie Cunningham. Either way, the guy still comes off as a cardboard, one dimensional character. I bet you anything the writers will have him adopt a dog. Most likely, it will be a yellow Lab he names Sparky.

I know!! Right, Harry?…. It just makes me despise him even more. Do not like his hair, either….LOL. So there!!

And here I thought I was the only one who considered Margaux totally dispensable!!! But at least I already know I’m not alone in loathing Pete of “parking lot” fame.

Hell no. Drew Cain is a vital, intriguing and engaging charactet just as he is right now.

I think it would be infinitely more interesting to watch Drew learn about his past in a somewhat piecemeal fashion as he encounters people from his past and they tell him things about himself. Then watch as he slowly pieces the puzzle together and begins to recall the past on his own. And then watching mooreville as Billy Miller works his magic and integrates the Drew can we know now with the Drew came from the past.

I agree, Kelly. Plus, why should we assume this duplicitous D. A. is the final answer to the memory issue? I’m sure someone (calling Curtis or Spinelli) can devise a way to procure that flashdrive WITHOUT ruining everything Drew has built or him sacrificing his integrity. Loving that our incredible Billy finally has a non-Sam story, though she still likes to interfere under the guise of caring. I wish Drew would stop confiding in her.

I like that, Kelly. I guess, in a roundabout way, that’s the point I was trying to make ( the first part of your comment)…that is; forget flashdrive by keeping his integrity. ….not because I am a fan of the Corinthos or Jason; but, because without our ethics, we are nothing–well, most of us. LOL.
You say it better than I….love the last part; specifically, “…as Billy Miller works his magic….”. Love my Billy!!

No don’t lose the memories he has built

Da DAWSON is very much good and have the ability to stick with storyline. fans had just had hard times with Drew he dosen’t sticks to anything he is trying its not hard enough he somehow though the wrighter’s off. Back when he thinks it was not Jason it was the worman was he seeing . Real Jason is very simient. Though as well steve off is turning light on and off switch

I haven’t seen the episode yet, so the answer to my question may be answered in it. But, has Drew talked to Dr. Maddox and been told that he will definitely lose the last five years? I don’t understand where this is coming from. Also, I don’t like that this supposedly up-right DA is slinking so low as to blackmail Drew into this. The whole thing is full of holes and shoddy writing, in my opinion. If I was Drew and Margaux did that to me, I’d be at the police station so fast her head would spin. It’s just not adding up and making this story uninteresting to me. Sorry.

Don’t do it leave well enough alone

Exactly, Frances…..let it go!!

First, that Margaux is a little pissant. I detest her. What a horrible thing to do–she is holding his memories hostage so she can finally catch her slimy dad’s killer? Appalling.
Second, yes of course he should get his memories back because identity is formed by memory. Without memory we have no identity. But he should not give into Margaux’s blackmail. He should let Jason, Sonny and Sam know what she’s holding over his head so they can orchestrate the retrieval of Drew’s hard drive.
PS. Oh if only I could erase the last year, 274 days, 4 hours, 31 minutes and 17 seconds from my memory banks! But who’s counting?

Hi, Harry….I tried looking up “piss ant”, but found nothing.
Agreed. Margaux should not hold the flashdrive as bait? But, go to Sonny and Jason? They’ll filet her and serve her to the dog. Does Sonny have a dog?

Pissant (AKA Piss Ant) is slang which means an inconsequential person, someone who is small or insignificant. It’s considered slightly vulgar in polite society but given the what is currently transpiring with our culture’s vernacular, I would say it’s pretty tame. Anyway, the word just amuses me for some reason. No one ever uses it anymore. I don’t think I was very clear–I meant to say that Drew should go to Sonny and Jason and tell them how Margaux is blackmailing him. He should tell SOMEONE anyway. I didn’t mean the little pissant should go tell Sonny and Jason as that would be very foolish indeed!

I know, Harry, my love……as my granda loves to say, “Just pullin’ ya chain…”
I understood. Your writing is always clear and informative.
I don’t know if I would trust, either Sonny or Jason, with this info….either one could hurt her.
I do not like violence, blood or gore….
The knife embedded in Laura’s abdomen creeped me out–albeit it was only in Ryan’s ruminating thoughts.
❤️

This one of the stupidest storyline ever on soaps!!! GH continues to sink low in entertainment value..Same for the Kevin/Ryan storyline…Bring back a fun to watch villain like Heather Webber or revive Helena..This show needs to take a page from DAYS and Hollyoaks from England..I am about to stop watching!

Yes!! Bring Heather back!! I’d love that, Omar!!

“Omar” thank you !!!!! just how low the depths of gutter have we wallowed . OMG ! Shelly and Chris … what is this ??? another back from the dead for Sam and Drew ???? you seriously think the audience cares ???? you two with the execution ala Frank Valentini at an alarming rate… OK … zonk put me to sleep 4 year spiral. Billy Miller , no matter how dashing… heartthrob he is in fact. can’t resuscitate . this will be thee laugh out loud story that could quickly kill any thing left. LOL.. can we wait to see a naked Steve Burton’ Jason .. do any thing

OMG .. isn’t it already spelled out… Jason and Sonny who are laboring over how righteous Margo dad was not. quickly leaving the deck in Margo deck.

I fell in love with Dr. Collins all over again… what’s the irritant is Ms. Rainbow , back in full swing… because she’s horny… the story is already killed by eager brain full of drudge Laura.. who wants the darker side of life.. in the hands of Jon Lindstrom… I DO

I love Jon Lindstrom, and I am adoring this story line as I always felt he was brilliant at playing Ryan. He’s even more brilliant playing Ryan pretending to be Kevin. He’s very subtle about it too. I wish they’d put Lindstrom back on contract.

JL has earned a contract, but I’m just happy to being seeing him frequently. He’s actually on screen more than some contract actors!

Yes, Patrick. Jon is unparalleled as both the good, wise twin and the evil, certifiable, presumably defunct one.
I was so impressed today—-he’s one of the greats!!

shucks.. true I REALLY appreciate the do.. an actor, Jon Lindstrom, doing his thing

more oft than naught, we agree, for me

it’s easy swing notion.. all the time.. Jon Lindstrom the act stirs

he’s a fast act to follow.. thank GOD.. when the show circles the same dire allotment .. i’m over them

what a show of difference

“Hello, my dear” it’s still a nice time to cavort w/ meaning.. LOVE the true stand… love the bar set .. because we’re still in to this

hugs and CHEERS

I think this is the writers’ way of not deciding what the rest of “Andrew Cain’s” life actually is. It’s kind of weird that Spinelli or the WSB can’t come up with most of the details from 30+ years classified or not……it’s sort of the way that they kept hedging about Sam’s or Nathan’s father. I have no doubt that no one on staff ever had an idea about this, they just kept delaying until someone came up with an idea……

As for Kiki…. down thread there is spec that Ryan will kill her and she’ll turn out not to be Ava’s daughter.. but Nina’s… that would be really cruel all the way around even for this soap – women lose a daughter so that a serial killer who died 25 years ago could have a victim in 2018? I hope this is not true.

Im losing patience (and trust) with this show. Get it together, GH.

The Kiki is Nina’s daughter concept is ongoing fan faction. Too much has happened between Kiki and Ava, plus with Kiki soon to meet her demise, a change in parentage would be empty.

They should have Kiki and Michael reconnecti before she perishes, just to reinforce his kiss of death history.

I have been saying this for years, Caleb. However, I have become the brunt of a joke, sort of……no way can Kiki be Nina’s daughter, is what I have heard…. still hear. LOL. Only Jimh agrees with me. How about Nelle?
The point is that I always believed Nina’s baby survived….whether she be Kiki or someone else.
Yet, today, she and Sasha soooo took to each other. Twins? ……albeit, I still have my doubts about Sasha.

I’ve always felt that Nelle should be Nina’s spawn…the mental instability gene looms so large in both of them, it would make perfect sense, CeeCee!

Just to clarify, Margaux wants revenge for the murder of her father but knows Jason wasn’t there at the time so those aren’t the memories she’s seeking. She just wants to get him on ANY crime that she can find evidence for/prove with the help of Jason’s memories.

As far as Drew, the writers better have Drew’s past mapped out. I’ve been wanting to know his history for a long time. They should bring back Andre who can give Drew more precise information. So my answer is if he’s going to lose his memories and feelings for everyone he currently loves he cant take the chance. At some point; yes. But not now. He has to be Oscars father, make sure he doesn’t forget Oscar and see him through this heartbreaking time. Now’s not the time to even chance the possibility of not remembering his son. And how heartbreaking would it be if Oscar dies (which I think he will) and Drew loses all memory of him.

Thank you for the clarification. Listen, if I find out for sure that Oscar dies I will be sure ti not watch that death scene. BJ’s death was tragic, meaningful and delivered to us with grace and beauty. The same can be said of Stone’s death. The two aforementioned characters demonstrated the importance of organ donation and AIDS awareness. If Oscar dies there will be no point to it–it will just be an utterly depressing, pointless story with no pay off the viewer. Yesterday, we watched Oscar endure the most pitiful and depressing 16th birthday. We viewers deserve a happy ending and so does Oscar. If we don’t get that, then I think the ratings will plummet even further. There’s good reason why GH’s ratings are so low. Currently, there are no feel going stories transpiring.

Hope I’m wrong, Harry, but, yes, I think Oscar’s going to die. Stage 4 cancer of the brain? The same tumor that in reality killed John McCain. That’s a very low survival rate cancer. The clinical trial Kim wants him in can only prolong his life, with a chance it could kill him sooner than the tumor would.
I think these writers are attempting to go for the tragic Stone/Robin first love, loss. Though it can never compare in any way to what was one of THE most tragic poignant stories on any soap in all the years I’ve been watching, it’ll still break my heart. I hate the whole story.

The only way I see Oscar being saved is if he’s suddenly discovered to be misdiagnosed, which I doubt.

Maybe Margaux wants to get something on Jason and then force Sonny to choose between protecting Jason or himself.
As for Drew, i think his main focus right now is Oscar and not trying to get his memories back.So Margaux might have approached Drew with her offer at the wrong time. Now down the line Drew might be tempted to get his memories but he may want to do it by hurting other people who never really hurt him.

How on EARTH did someone manage to put someone’s memory on a hard drive, while simultaneously rendering them amnesiac? There are things I’ll suspend my reality for including a weather machine. I loved Simon Bar Sinister on the old Underdog cartoons so the Cassadine story was easy to swallow. Plus I was much younger then. Now. Just NO. What a ridiculous cartoonish story to actually sit down and write. Heather Webber must have come up with this in Miscavage-Home for the really honestly truly hands down without a doubt insane. Geez! Give me that flash drive with my memories on it. LMAO. AND NO. Just cuz it’s a soap doesn’t give the writers license for stupidity.

So true, lol..Stupid writing..This show needs new writers all around NOW!!

Yup, LOL.

Destroy the thumb drive! Drew is better off in this current life with these memories. You know there will be trouble in his past!

We already went through this with Jason. These repeat stories are BORING

I just watched Monday’s episode. I can’t stand Kim and Oscar. That kid needs to be sent back to acting school! Kim-the same rehearsed dialogue, line by line, each and every episode. Am I supposed to be invested in Cameron and Joslyn? Really? I’m 38. I don’t want to watch two teen brats pretend to have a relationship. No thanks.

Don’t hold back, AVP. Tell us how you really feel.

You make me laugh, AVP…..I always enjoy reading your posts.
I know what you mean. You’re not that much older than I ( 32 in December).
However, I can tell you that my thirteen and fourteen-year-old nieces love the teens on GH—Oscar, Cameron and Joss. LOL.

AVP…..You have plenty of “P&V!” And I love it….

At least Drew and Margeaux didn’t have the conversation out in the park. While I typically love outdoor shots, it’s supposed to be the end of October in upstate New York, yet the trees are still full of green leaves.

Kudos, however, on Kevin and Laura’s new apartment set and that Alexis once again has an office. They also spruced up the Q den with a new color.

Whether Drew wants to get his memories back or not i do think he needs to find a way to get that flash drive away from Margaux because otherwise she might always be holding it over his head as leverage.

Billy Miller is my favorite actor and Drew is my favorite character, I really hope that down the line this man can find some happiness. Everything is so depressing on GH. I hope that if he does get his memories back it leads to a good story with at least some good/happier parts in it.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
