General Hospital's FLUKE Makes THE SOUP: "You Don't Deserve My Donuts!"

Fluke aka the fake Luke Spencer (Tony Geary) has given Joel McHale and E’s The Soup some material on last night’s episode!

General Hospital is no stranger to The Soup, where often times the satirical series has some fun at some of the antics of GH’s characters or their storylines! Here was the set-up:  Joel showed a GH clip of Fluke telling Tracy (Jane Elliot): “You can suck the joy out of a donut!” and that was juxtaposed with a clip of Fluke coming on to Kiki (Kristen Alderson) where he says to her, “What you need is a dose of Dr. Sugar!  What you need is a real man!”  While he is all over her, Kiki kicks him in the nuts to which Fluke angrily replies, “You don’t deserve my donuts!”

Watch the clip from The Soup after the jump! Did you think taken out of context it was funny?  What do you think of Fluke now?  Let us know!

I luv this Luke, it is relief from the same ‘ol..
I bet Tony and cast are laughing their azz off back stage and having fun with it..

Some soap fans are extremely serious while the actors are having fun/are not all that serious about it all ….

When you can’t have fun watching a soap then one should tune out and read a book ..
It is entertainment, cry, laugh, wonder, sigh, but enjoy..
Anyways, I find humor in Fluke!! Tony is knocking it outta the park..
((he needed a break from Luke to come alive once again ..

ITA! It’s time Tony got some material to be a bad ass! He is doing great just like the pro he is because this character makes my skin crawl! Bravo Tony!

It’s one thing to have fun it’s another thing to become a joke.

I think GH’s ratings would be better if they concentrated on producing a quality daytime drama rather than doing camp and schtick to get a mention on a cable show that has a very small audience.

Whatever they are going for, maybe it’s to attract younger viewers, it won’t work. There are too many better options on broadcast, cable and online for people. My guess is that most young women, who might even enjoy camp, are probably repulsed by seeing a young girl have to kick a lecherous 70 year old man in the nuts. Is this GH or Benny Hill?

The suits at ABC would be better off trying to fix the show’s writing and poor continuity than spend their time trying to shut down speech that criticizes their bad product. I can appreciate their obligation and allegiance to those who work on the show, but they also have an obligation to put out a product that is worthy of the name General Hospital and one that will generate the most revenue for the network. The type of show that GH has devolved into is not it.

Not really a good thing when you are made fun of on The Soup.

Love him or loathe him, FLuke is rapidly wearing out his welcome in Port Charles with his odious escapades. I only hope the wizened priapic predator’s jig will soon be up, and we discover the true identity of this impersonating miscreant….particularly for Kiki’s sake! I’m no great fan of KA’s character, but Puke’s increasingly pervy advances upon her person are really a discomfort to watch. It’s a shame that the girl can’t confide her tribulations with this freak to Mama Ava. She would do far more than knee his “donuts”….probably permanently alter them with her trusty pistol!

Well said, su0000, I agree 100%!

I’m getting a kick out of Fluke. Tony Geary had been hanging around with nothing to do on the show lately, so this is giving him something fun and different to play, and he’s taking the ball and running with it. I’m really enjoying the storyline, and I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes next.

Nobody is enjoying this deviant departure from the Luke we all know more than AG…that is highly apparent. He’s having the time of his life playing the creepy, sex-crazed curmudgeon to the hilt. No doubt the more salacious aspects of the character were his idea, too. But enough is enough…..

Luke desperately needs a new haircut.. I know this style is what’s current but it just makes him look like a disheveled rooster.

Couldn’t have described that “do” better myself…so funny.

Bad “Wig”!

LOL…disheveled rooster……

Fluke is wearing a mask! It was obvious today. Im now not so sure this is Bill Eckert but rather Jerry Jacks. Jerry would come on to Brit,Kiki,Liz etc. Jerry is evil (although he has a heart and i personnaly love him) hmmm i love that this storyline has me guessing!

Plus before Jerry left the last time the show did touch upon a connection that he had with Julian because he helped Jerry escape.Plus Jerry knows he can’t step in Port Charles as himself or he’ll be arrested on the spot.So it makes sense that he would have to impersonate someone else to move around Port Charles freely.Plus i think Anthony Geary is enjoying himself because he may know he’s not playing the real Luke and knows the fans will forgive Luke later when they learn the truth.

I think it would be incredibly boring and anticlimatic if it turns out be Jax.
The fans are really unhappy with this storyline–Fluke has sucked the joy out of doughnuts and Luke would never had done such a thing.

I would be shocked if it were Jerry; he’s never been seen as a womanizer let alone a rapist. Doesn’t “feel” like Jerry to me at all…

On another note, it is completely unfathomable to me that Tracy, Lulu, Sonny and anyone who knows Luke would believe that he’s in his right mind or the same person. I’m stretching my willingness to believe…but I’m just about at the limit before I pop!

As for doughnuts…it’s sooooo not time to make them!

Not to mention that if this were Jerry, when he encountered Samantha at the art gallery he would not have referred to her as “Sammy” but “Sweet Sam”…..you know he would not have been able to help himself! The fact that FLuke seems so oblivious to a lot of the locals and their respective “nicknames” makes me suspect this is not someone who knows Port Charles all that well.

Jerry Jacks was never an aggressive grabby woman type and wouldn’t go after Kikki in that manner..
Whomever it is would need to have Fluke’s personality, and he is far from charming or gentlemanly ….
no way is he JJ or Faison etc ..

Maybe it is Luke!! with a chemically induced brain change, or possessed, or overtaken by an Alien.. yup, could be Luke..

I hope it’s not Jerry, because while Jerry would “flirt” with all the women you speak of, he would not, nor did he ever force himself on anyone.

It’s not Jerry Jacks.

I agree, its Jerry but why hasnt “Lerry” made contact with Carly?

God Bless Tony Geary!!

Fake Luke is the only character, ever, that I can’t seem to crack…it’s driving me nuts….Grrrrrr !!!!!

When Luke was first acting strange, i was the first to ask if he was Jerry Jacks and i still believe this is who he really is…what the show needs to do now is show Luke in scenes with Bobbi and im pretty sure Bobbi will be the first to figure this is not her brother and Luke/Jerry will kidnap her!!!…imo!!!

Meanwhile, i dont like how they dumbdowned Tracy by making her blinded by love…Tracy new for a long time Luke hasnt been himself and should realize there is a possibility of him coming on to Kiki instead of viceversa…i mean why wouldnt Tracy wonder after all this time would Kiki suddenly show interest in Luke? Tracy is smarter than that and should know something still isnt right about Luke and that perhaps he couldve hit on Kiki…and didnt Nik or someone overhear what he said about Britts arse and why wasnt Tracy told about it?

Another GH problem for me is the return of Maxi…instead of hanging in her apartment with that goofy Lego or whatever his name is, she should have been in scenes with Mac and Felicia welcoming her back home!!!

knew!!!

I agree…I have to say it was pretty anti-climatic so far …I thought for sure she would reach out to Lulu …and what about Emmas play…. it so strange how the writers are writing these scenes…really bizarre.

I agree with you about Maxie. I can’t stand Levi. Like Kiki, nails on a chalkboard for me. Such a waste of time and money on those scenes!

hummmm

thee wwwhhhooollleee inchilada
oh those bulbous donuts

hummm

luke

i dont recall bill, or jerry (wish are the two most guess characters impersonating luke) ever being pervs, womanizers, maybe, but whoever this luke is, i think its gross, the story is playing out to long, we need a reveal, or at least see the real luke being held somewhere. and whats with Morgan acting like Luke is some stranger? doesn’t he know they are related? its just so annoying seeing how this story is being played out oh and by the way, morgan needs a hair cut, a shave and thats including his back, he looks like a teenage wolf.

Spot on about Morgan’s current grooming habits, or rather, lack thereof. It makes me wonder if there has been a memo circulated that encouraged the male cast members to join the “Stubble and Beard Brigade.” So many (including Morgan, Nathan, Lucas, Franco, Julian, and particularly Patrick-yuck!) have recently adopted the more hirsute look and that is not a good thing. As if Car-LOS!, the slovenly hitman, didn’t provide enough of that “razorless rebel” vibe….

I didn’t find it funny in or out of context. The writing is just painfully juvenile. Calling it sophomoric would be overly generous. RC and his team lack the deft touch to mix comedy and drama in a way that’s relatable.

I don’t get how RC doesn’t get that The Soup is about singling out the worst of the worst of TV rather than praising their cleverness.

They’re laughing at Ron (and soap fans in general ) rather than laughing WITH us . Don’t see that as good PR and feel kind of sheepish for watching at all.

Making “The Soup” is not a good thing.

agree with you KM!

soap drama is real life it is campy..
Dont take soaps so seriously, they are fiction..
if you can’t have fun, laugh at the silly or humor , and enjoy it, tune out..
dont punish yourself by watching it.. 🙂

and- soap fans have been laughed at and joked about and made fun of from day one..
and when we see how some of the soap fans act, think about it, we are laughable ….
NO gener acts like soap fans, we have a reputation, ya know..

Thank you KM. Very well said. This show is making fun of GH but GH does deserve it.

GH shows up on Soup every now and then. When Britch threw Emma’s doll on the grill it made it to Talk Soup. Its a good thing. There are three other soaps I never see on that show. It could be that its poking fun at GH but I see it as a way to attract new viewers who are intrigued by outlandish behavior, as well.

I remember watching that two or three times, laughed so hard watching those scenes!

I did to. I was wandering if there was something wrong with me! Glad to see theres another warped GH fan out there!

B&B has been on there for a while. Mainly when Ridge knocked Rick off the roof of the Forrester building and yelled, “Riiiiiiick!!”

Ronn Moss and Kyle Lowder, who played Ridge and Rick at the time, have both been on “The Soup” with Joel a couple times for B&B. It was hilarious.
wolfy

As much as I dislike Faux Luke; that line was hysterical. I laughed out loud while at the gym watching it. Love seeing little Spencer interact with Faux Luke. That little guy can really deliver whether in scenes with other child actors or powerhouse greats like Maurice, Tony, and Tyler. Two things I can’t stand about this storyline-Tracy looking like an idiot and more useless Kiki-such a waste of precious air-time!

Dear God, not another mask. I hope it’s Bill back from the dead and the real Luke is just tied up somewhere in Miscavige waiting to be rescued.

I think Jerry took the real Luke to formulate another dose of anti-polonium serum from his antibodies….when Spencer was initially imprisoned in Miscavage, they were drawing his blood when he was taken from the room at regular intervals (as Scotty mentioned.) However, in the end, it was probably just easier to bring the mountain (Luke) to Mohammed (Jerry) so when FLuke the imposter was ready to replace the original, they shipped off the genuine article to Mr. Jacks’ latest hideaway.

Since I don’t watch GH or Days, I learn a lot about them from McHale’s “The Soup.” I loved the relish fiasco that went on for a while. I have no idea what it was about, but OMG, if it was half as funny on the air as it was on “The Soup,” it must have been good viewing!

I also love that McHale has had several of the stars on the show from B&B, including Ronn Moss and Kyle Lowder, who played Ridge and Rick Forrester a couple years ago. When Ridge knocked Rick off the Forrester Creations rooftop, yelling “Riiiiiiiiicccckkk!!!” it was played over and over again for a few weeks. McHale finally had Moss and Lowder on the show, and it was hilarious.

McHale also enjoys talking about various telenovelas, so someone at “The Soup” is definitely a soap opera lover. I hope they keep it up. About the only show that hasn’t been on (that I know of) is “Y&R.”

Guess they just don’t have good enough material, but considering some of the programs they’ve had in the past, I’m shocked they haven’t been on “The Soup!”

More power to “The Soup” and our soaps being shown on there. It brings in new interest from Soup viewers, which ends up with new fans. Thanks, Joel & “The Soup.” We really appreciate your interest (and making fun of our shows so folks get interested in them). 🙂

I have heard that Maurice Bernard may be taking a 6 month LOA….. has anyone else heard that as well? I am worried that the writers are writing him into a corner with no way out? Hope FLUKE does Olivia in…..

i think the new gross old man pervert luke , is a fake , and the real luke is being hidden out some where by the Crazy Casadines again, he will be uncorvered eventually by Robin who is off to re give life to the frozen dead Casadine clan… how funny is it .. yet i still watch

its good entertainment and i grew up watching this show, i have watched for the whole 50 years. my mom got me into it all at the age of 6

i remember the Real doctor Hardy jessie and lucille ..

god i am old

I am still laughing:))

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Photo: JPI

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
