Robin is convinced she has caught Lisa trying to harm her once again – but when Steve tests the needle; it turns out to be arthritis medication for the patient next door.  Furious, Lisa threatens to go to the board for Robin’s termination. Lisa tries to lure Patrick to Jake’s under the guise of reconciliation. Fearing Claire will be fired, Sonny hopes the break-up will allow her to salvage her career.

Tabyana Ali Makes Her Debut As General Hospital’s New Trina

Friday’s, March 25th episode of General Hospital, brought with it the on-screen debut of Tabyana Ali as Trina Robinson.  As viewers know, Ali replaced popular actress Sydney Mikayla in the role.

Mikayla had decided to leave the ABC daytime drama series to go to college full-time.  With that, GH auditioned her replacement and Tabyana won the part.

In her debut episode, Ali was thrown into the mix with key characters and actors in Trina’s storyline including parents, Portia (Brook Kerr) and Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews).

Additionally, Tabyana appeared opposite, Nicholas Alexander Chavez (Spencer), where Trina gave the guy a giant brush-off, and later had a run-in with Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Cameron (William Lipton) over everyone believing Trina is responsible for the video showing Joss and Cam making love going viral and in the their classroom.  Of course, the audience knows Esme (Avery Pohl) is framing Trina for it.

So, what were your first impressions of Tabyana as NuTrina? Let us know in the comment section, but first check out Ali in scenes with Eden McCoy below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: The Ryan and Esme Connection Revealed

Putting the ‘creep’ into some scenes with a big revelation had soap fans chatting on the Twitterverse yesterday and today. On Wednesday’s episode of General Hospital, viewers learned what some had suspected that it appears that evil Esme (Avery Pohl) is actually evil Ryan’s (Jon Lindstrom) daughter.

It call came out when Esme, while at Spring Ridge, sneaks into Ryan’s room and sort of admonishes him for speaking out loud where people could hear him, when for months he has been feigning locked-in syndrome, unable to talk, and blew all their months of plotting,

Then, Ryan says, “Actually, I was thinking about you and how you’ve failed me.”  Ryan reveals the plot was about breaking up Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) and Ava (Maura West), and she’s been wasting time on Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) and the teen scene drama.  Esme drops to her knees and begs ‘daddy’ to believe in her and she adds, “that he likes it when she calls him ‘daddy”.  Ryan responds, “Be careful what you wish for.”

Esme goes on the offensive and threatens to tell Ryan’s twin, Kevin, that he’s been able to talk for months. Next, Ryan grabs Esme arms and reminds her that he is the one in control here and calling the shots … not her.

Ryan insists it’s time for them to go back to the objective, Ava.  He tells Esme she needs to get on the good side of Spencer’s parents, especially Spencer’s dad, Nikolas.

“You know what they say, like father like son,” Ryan gloats.  Esme is at first not sure where this is going, but then seems to smirk.

In the end, Ryan tells Esme she will get everything her heart desires.  Next, Ryan stands up out of his wheelchair and tells her that what’s his is hers … and then adds, “My beautiful, gifted daughter.”  We fade to black.

So, if Esme is Ryan’s bio-daughter who is Esme’s mother … or is Ryan lying to Esme to get her to do more of his dirty work? Share your thoughts on the scenes via the comment section below.

GH’s Finola Hughes Delivers The ‘Power Performance of the Week’

Once again, as she has many times previously, General Hospital’s Finola Hughes (Anna) is our pick for the Power Performance of the Week. This time, Hughes, brought the emotional heartbreak, guilt, the steely resolve of super spy Anna Devane, all rolled into one as Anna helped end the life of super villain, Peter August (Wes Ramsey) aka Henrik Faison.

It seemed fitting that in the end, as Peter is near his last breaths (after being clubbed over the head by Felicia and taking a fall), that it was Anna who was by his side, but not how you might expect.  Feigning that she called for an ambulance and the paramedics to help Peter, when she in fact didn’t, proved once again Anna can be as tough as they come as she was going to take care of Peter once and for all, by simply preventing anyone from coming to save him.

Peter, knowing the end is near calls Anna a killer, and she responds, “Depends on your perspective.”  What Hughes does so well is give Anna the appearance that she often has it all under control, when we, the audience, know she’s conflicted and she is breaking inside.  After all, Anna had believed for quite some time that Peter was her son with Faison, only to find out later it was her twin sister, Alex, who was his bio-mom.

When Anna showed Peter some understanding as he is dying, she expressed, “No one deserves to die alone, not even you.” Anna did take Peter’s hand in his final moments. Later, walking away from his dead body, and in tears, and she says goodbye to him in a full-circle moment. Finally, the bad guy had been apprehended and he can’t hurt anymore people that Anna loves or feels responsible for.

Next, a guilt-ridden Anna returned to Port Charles, and Robert (Tristan Rogers) was there to catch her in her emotional time of need.  In wonderfully played scenes between Finola and Tristan Rogers, Robert says to Anna, “I see him (Peter) sitting on your shoulder, dripping doubt into your ear.”  Anna responds, “Will you answer me something honestly? Do you not think that I bear some responsibility for the way that he turned out, and all the blood he spilled?” Robert tells Anna that no, she does not, and she nearly got herself killed for it.   The emotional high point occurred when Robert tells Anna that the “next time she gives her heart to someone, give it to some guy that deserves her love.”  Hughes’ reactions as Anna listens to Robert intensely, and is overcome with tears, was beautifully played.

In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest on newsstands now, GH’s co head-writer, Chris Van Etten shared on Peter’s demise, “We always knew that the final moment had to be between Anna and Peter.  There was no other consideration.  The story started with Anna, and it has to end with Anna.”

So, what do you think of our pick for Finola Hughes as the Power Performance of the Week? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
