GH's Robin's Electro-Shock! Dr. Ewen Keenan revealed as a Pawn? Who is behind the sinister Plot to Destroy the Drakes & Anna?

Courtesy/ABC
This past week on General Hospital saw spine-tingling drama unfold with the return of Kimberly McCullough (Robin) in key scenes that keeps the Robin Scorpio Drake kidnapping moving forward, without the beloved McCullough returning to the series in any full time capacity as of now.
What we saw and what we learned: Robin was given a cruel dose of electro-shock therapy while being held against her will at Ferncliff! The doctor who shows up in charge of her case turns out to be none other than, wait for it, Dr. Ewen Keenan! (Nathin Butler) Ewen reveals he cannot let anyone know Robin is alive and then tells her she is going to be transported to Switzerland. The now seemingly dastardly doc then has a phone call with someone who is clearly masterminding the plot against Robin, Patrick, and Anna from a far …. but, just who is it? Is Ewen just a pawn in this vendetta? So many questions!
Meanwhile, with some shocking news from Heather, that Robin is alive, Anna frantically goes to search Ferncliff in heartbreaking scenes, while in other heartbreaking scenes, Patrick decides to seek help from his drug addiction under the care of Dr. Ewen Keenan, who he thinks is a good man, and whom he also tells his friend, Elizabeth to consider giving another chance at romance!
Amazing performances once again by Finola Hughes (Anna) and Jason Thompson (Patrick) and who of us in the viewing audience was not upset to see our Robin in this kind of horrific danger!
So soapers, who do you think is behind the plot to take Robin from her loved ones? Faison? A Cassadine? A relative of Lisa Niles? Someone else from Anna, Robin’s or Patrick’s past? Let us know your thoughts and what you thought of the episodes!
I dont know who nit is except that it was executed horrificly and masterly done. Kudos to all cast involved including Robin (Kim Mc C) . While she is gone with her career I hope she continues her guest spots to keep us with the taste of Robin to saver. Love that girl and will miss her much. FC you have given us so many surprises I cant name them all here but bella work. GH jas got to ascend in ratings pronto………..so many of us watch but we dont get counted for in the ratings…..my family and co-workers are watching please count us. We are in Kentucky and Ohio…..
I am in love with this show thanks to the brilliance of Ron and Frank who are the best in the business. How lucky are we to have them? This show is so amazing with every twist and turn new stories. Really I hope we find out who is behind Keenan. It seems like it can only be Faison but with the writers, I have no idea. Never in a million years thought than Dr Keenan was involved.
I hope it’s Faison! But, I have a feeling they’ll connect it with OLTL – because that seems to be Ron’s pattern. Would it if it was Grant Putnam too!
very true.. but wouldn’t it be great if it was the evil Ivan Kippling?
LOVE IT. i THINK IT IS fAISON OR hELENA. THEY DID THIS TO lUCKY.
oh! I remember him! he was on Spiderman too. Any time I see him, on any show, I say “Dr. Ivan Kippling!”
yeah, I figure it’s Helena, or possibly Faison too.
I think it’s Faison…He’s out to get Anna, and what better way than to take her daughter. Anna is already planning on going to Switzerland based on what Heather told her, he’s drawing her out..
Its not Faison – he would of done it himself. That is not Faison’s style. He is dead and not coming back. I think it’s Lisa’s brother.
Oh, and I think the good doctor Keenan is Faison’s son!!!!!
Ruth, I think you are right because Faison helped Helena kidnap Lucky and Keenan was working for Helena when he first came on.
It’s not Faison – he does his work himself
Now that sounds like a good possibility!
If I’m remembering correctly didn’t the doc come in contact with Helena? Maybe they are going to pull out yet another retread with Helena being the person pulling the strings. Ewen was hot for Helena’s daughter, (can’t remember her name which shows how much that story interested me), so could be she has him convinced the daughter is alive after all and is holding it over his head. As to why she is picking on the Scorpio’s this time around….well, it’s Helena, does she even need a real reason? If KM is not interested in coming back I wish they’d just go on and leave her dead. There are plenty of people in the cast to write a decent story for.
It’s probably someone lame like Jerry Jacks. Don’t get me wrong, Jerry is an evil mofo fully capable of something as diabolical as this. It’s just there is no logic for why he’d target Robin like this. The first time he targeted Robin it was random so unless they come up with some other story of how he’s been after her all along, it makes no damn sense. Faison makes sense but I feel like he wouldn’t be this cruel to Robin.
I want to give a shout out to Kimberly McCullough. She may have had to film these scenes in a rush but I thought she was excellent too. There were two distinct moments when she killed it and Robin’s anguish made my heart hurt for hours afterward. 1. When she was restrained to the bed and willed Patrick to come find her as the tears rolled down her face. 2. Right before she was shocked, she called out to all her loved ones and promised she wouldn’t forget them. Absolutely heartbreaking scenes.
Robin’s life is like a Shakespearean tragedy, always. I can’t think of a GH character who deserves happiness and a good life more than she does, but danger and physical/emotional pain always courts her. Sad.
Finola Hugues was also excellent as Anna this week. I cried as she became determined to find Robin. The character has never been more compelling.
Jason Thompson gave another great week of performances but I will have to see Patrick be the stupid clueless dolt again and he’s in for plenty of that.
Veronica –
Beautiful read. So well said. I too… was in tears… LOL. Oye! This is one of the best written storylines.
Quality stuff done with excellence… Anna, Patrick, Robin….even, Matt.
This story above all else going on in Port Charles… has my attention span.
So much debate going on about Sam and Jason, and Sam and McBain…
Robin’s tragic “death”
Patrick’s aftermath….
has me reeling.
watching Anna- get her due… A lioness fighting for her cub… is top drawer… it’s so heartfelt, gut-wrenching to watch her loving Robin… her daughter… after not being on the show for years… what with Mac looking after Robin…. it’s like Anna was never gone… so, we’re witnessing “Shakespeare”.
It has got to be Faison he has had it in for Robin’s parents for years, He’s obsessed w/Anna hate Robert, w a passion he was even obsessed w/Felicia he doesn’t like Mac either..Plus, he tried to kidnapped Robin before.
Just like OLTL’s Jessica and shock treament now its Robin. Come on FV/RC need NEW & different storylines!
It would be nice to have something new. Even though this story is pretty good, it’s been done before. CarTini, when are you going to start writing original stories for GH and not re-treds of OLTL stories?
I agree with the idea that it might connect back to OLTL and that the one who is holding Victor is involved somehow and also working for someone higher up. It could be Faison with connections out side of Port Charles that expands to Llanview. GH has been the best it’s been in many many years thanks to Ron and Frank and the crossovers from OLTL. I am looking forward to the show every day, this is the first time in years. Hopefully Robins kidnapping won’t go on too long and we will see her back on GH in a full-time capacity! Her husband and daughter need her as well as the rest of the family.
I think it’s either Jerry Jax. He always shows up & does something terrible. Faison is a blast from the past. What if it is Duke? Or someone trying to avenge Lisa Niles? Maybe it is Lisa Niles & she never died. Oh boy!
Wow. imagine…. Anna having a chance for payback…. A mother bear… fighting for her cub… at long last… Robin.
Anna, has me in tears… for her child. Finola lovingly portrays such LOVE for Robin.
I loved the character, Lisa Niles… Brianna Brown. She had all the makings of a true soap villain. however, they really wrote her out… ie: the syringe with hiv blood… intended for patrick, was over the top. no redemption value.
This is must watch mode… for Anna…. Finola Hughes is on fire…. you don’t mess with a mother, with-out…her child.
Wasn’t he already involved w/Helena? The show seems so different now I’m having a hard time remembering the past lol – I would imagine that whoever has Robin also has Trevor St. John’s Todd :D. I sure hope so anyway !!
The show has me gripped – I don’t fast forward – I just enjoy it…what a new thing. I think Jason Thompson is SO good that he could win an Oscar, he amazes me with the depth of his emotions – the whole spectrum, good and bad. I love that Robin is showing up – I miss her and hope she comes back. The other good thing about Ron’s version of GH is that anyone in the cast could do something else, too – because no one is the primary focus.
If Keenan ended up being Faison’s son – I could deal with that – that would be SO much fun, as long as Faison showed up too, rather than just being implied. Can’t wait to see how this unfolds.
It is not Faison – it has to do with Lisa Niles. I am right on this
I don’t know who is behind the plot but am loving Jason Thompson’s portrayal of a heartsick husband who can’t live without his beloved wife. Kudos to Jason, such a talent.
I really think its Robert. They way he vanished during Robins memorial never really made much sense to me. Also Ewen is Australian, he culd easily be a contact of Roberts, and it makes sense Robert would want to bring Robin back from the dead. My grandma thinks maybe Ewen is trying to cure AIDS because hes a doctor LOL. As long as she isnt a clone I’ll be happy lol
Why would Robert want to hurt his own daughter with shock therapy. Could be an enemy of Roberts. Robert vanished to go after his so called son that Luke told him was his. Guess you missed that part.
I heard Faison was coming back so it probably is him, but I hope they do a nice twist like Dr. David Haywood!!!
You heard wrong
If they can, get the mastermind to be none other than Dr. David Hayward! Would be a great way to tie AMC legacy to GH in some way, he has ties to Anna, and.. he kidnapped her and is using as a guinea pig for his continued Orpheus project, this time using it to hopefully cure HIV. It can be further revealed that Lisa Niles never switched Robin’s meds as she thought, it was David. He needed her counts to go as low as they could before he could do his testing…. then she went and got on a new protocol and messed it all up, so he had to isolate her.. the explosion was the perfect opportunity.
Oh yeah I forgot about Robert and Anna until now, but the rest of what you are suggesting, why would he do this to Robin purposely killing her. His other patients died from mishaps…
I love Robin since the beginning, I love Robert, Anna, Patrick, and I was chock all the way that it was Dr. Keenan! The 3 actors before & since have done A plus job on this story line and A plus to the new staff producer, director’s, writing team etc. Its just AWESOME!!!
And another story line I love and can’t wait for Sam to finally get proof for what she’s know all alone that her baby is a live and is Jason!!! And that this will bring her & Jason back together and to know what I’ve thought alone that his brother is not dead and solely impossible for destroying & picking apart his marriage & life!!!
I know it has been awhile since Lisa Niles met her maker, but was the body they found truly identifiable as Lisa? Because I can’t think of anyone who has ever had a bigger vendetta against Robin than her.
I just hope it’s not Jerry Jax who behind Robin’s kidnapping. Please let it be Faison.
Its not Faison
you’re right. it’s obviously Frisco Jones.
My guess is Jerry…not sure y but in my option the Metro Court storyline a few years back is still one of my favorite..both Kimberly & Jason shined…agree this wk Finola/Jason/Kimberly once again were brilliant! Hope it continues!
Hoping it’s Fasion. Big time! I’m really loving GH these days! Still miss OLTL BIG TIME though.,,
What a terrible picture of Kimberly there Michael! I know it’s a screencap, but I’m sure you could have found better ones! 😛
I’m another one hoping for David Hayward.
David is not coming back to soaps – Vincent is working on plays with Walt Willey. He told me he is not coming to GH
never liked the doc.
The show is on fire! It was “Mobs R Us” for so long I’m still stunned. With the return of Anna and resuming some of the back stories and history of the show has added not only a continuity to the story lines, but given the buffs a much needed break from all the violence. The writers floored me with Ewen being the Dr. I believe he is being forced somehow to do this…but my jaw dropped when I saw his face. Thank you for bringing Luke out of his hateful stupor. The additions of Todd and J. McBain are AWESOME and I wasn’t a OLTL watcher. Todd is awesome and JM is so alluring is sinful… he and same are simply steamy. Still have my wish list…miss Alan, Nikolas, Lucky. Can’t wait for K. Storms to return and PS love Spinelli.
forgive me… “he and Sam.”
I want Robin Scorpio Drake to return to port Charles general hospital. I want Robin to be reuniting with her family and her husband and her daughter emma
Robin being given electro shock was awful, i had nightmares after that, i’m not liking how this is playing out, considering Kimberly is not back for good. The storyline is making me more anxious. truly hated Robin being victimize that way.
My guess it’s a combination of Cesar Faison, Helena Cassadine and Grant Putnam, but I see a connection with Allison Perkins and the late Mitch Laurence and the late Irene Manning.
Its not Faison geez
bmonika,,,,give it up…so you said one hundred and fifty million times,,,its not FAISON GEEZ
that is some train you got there! 🙂
I was just reading about Anders Hove – seems he made his first US appearance in 15 years, at Monster Mania Con in March. He was on a show called SubSpecies. I believe Kassie DePaivia was there too for her role in Evil Dead.. … I suppose he went back to Denmark afterwards.
Where does “helena” actress live?
I believe it’s Faison behind Robin’s kidnapping, he did it once before when she was a little girl.
It just makes perfect sense to me.
I wish however that it wasn’t Ewan Keenan in the mix – I like(d) him…..so I hope wherever they’re going with this story that ultimately he turns out to be a good guy.
Maybe he’s a double agent ?
Mitch Lawrence.
te he he
I can already here his them song… “Bad to the Bone”~!
Helena and Faison are working together with another partner that links in the OLTL deaths and they must have more than just Victor. Don’t think it is Mitch. Allison is just a pawn like Ewen. Ewen could be Faison’s son but he is most likely a pawn being used. He is still not a good guy. Faison wants Robin because of Anna and Max and Robert. It is a great storyline and bringing back days of old… love it!
I heard a rumour that Stavros might be involved. I think it would be great if RKK came back as the once frozen head of the Cassadine family. His arc was fabulous and he was a very sexy and compelling evil doer. I would also love to see squeeky from uh I mean Allision Perkins come back and be involved somehow. That would give us a chance to see TSJ return as Victor. I think the most likely scenario is Helena and Jerry Jax. I can’t wait to see who our master villain is!
Either way, I am loving GH right now and hope to have it around for many years to come. I miss Pine Valley and Llanview so much. I hope that someday we will get to see them back in some fashion.
Faison is the first to come to mind…but Ewen is already ‘connected’ to the Cassadines, and Faison has worked with Helena before. Maybe another Cassadine…Valentin? Maybe Valentin and Irene Manning know each other and that is how the OLTL connection will fit.
ALL I know for sure is that I am LOVING GH right now!! Great stories, good characters, fantastic interactions…WOO HOO!!!!
Bravo to ALL the players in this storyline! GH is on fire. Love it!
I really hope it’s not Casey the Alien.
tehe he
yeah, not Robert S., not Frisco, not Casey — they all love Robin and would never hurt her.
Faith Roscoe?
hmmm… i’ve been reading. I think I might have to throw Jerry Jax into the speculation. that would/might bring Jasper back. be “nice” if Johnny got a bit of Jax brothers.
I hope they figure out a way for Todd to not get in trouble for getting hoodwinked by Heather.
IT IS JERRY JAX! ha! And Ewen is very similar to Jerry in looks and accent – do you think he’s Jerry’s kid and doesn’t know it?
For once i wish daytime would address mental illnesses on a more serious notes there are people whose lives have been ruined from misdiagnosis and quacks it would be nice that if GH would take this Robin story further and where she was refusing consent to the procedure is a good starting point. So Good for them for that one!
oh GH has done serious crazy before, with Meg Bentley-Baldwin (Scotty’s mom) that was way back – like ’69-’71, and more “recently” with the Chamberlain twins, can’t remember which was which…. there was many scenes where Lucy Coe was trying to cox out whatever happened in the past that made him or them, crazy… and there was the whole Putnam ordeal…. just more fun to watch the kind of crazy like Heather is.
I keep thinking of more crazy people on GH. there have been many! ha! Mary Bishop (that kept Nikolas), Meg Baldwin, Laura Spencer, Heather Webber, Grant Putnam, Ryan Chamberlain, James Franco (don’t tell Heather I put her and her nephew on the crazy list! ha!), most of the Cassadines!, Anthony Zacchara and Faison are even listed as insane villians,…. and many others could be placed in a teetering column like Lisa Niles, Helena Cassadine, even Tony Jones went off the deep end when he kidnapped Robin and a baby Michael.
I would LOVE to see the Cassadines back on the canvas. Frankly, my biggest criticism of GH is how Guza and Phelps made it the “Corinthos” show. I prefer a Spencer/Cassadine orbit I suppose, probably because that’s when I started watching, like back when I was twelve. 😉 I must say though, Valentini has mad Sonny interesting again, barely. Never loved Faison, but after watching some old clips, it’s true. The creepy chemistry with Anna is undeniable. Bring back the WSB, and Tiffany!
After now learning that, Jerry Jax is coming back. I think the people, behind this are. From Anna and Roberts past, with JERRY’s help. By using Ewen as a pawn, in a trade off of paying him, off to keep Robin alive. To lure Anna to rescue, her daughter. This will shock the whole town. If Jerry is involved there is Defentley, bloodshed involved. And a shooting involved. I think it will revealed as DUKE, OR FAISON. WITH JERRY JAX’s help. And Ewen will fall victim , for falling in love with Elizabeth. In the past Jerry has tendicy for everything that Ewen is not. A KILLER. AND A SLY FOR DISAPPEARING.
can you please bring robin back for patrick and emma so i can watch them again , i really miss her on my gh since she left the show because i watch her on gh on and off since 1985 to feb.2012 so i haven’t watch gh since march. so please bring her back to gh. Thank very much
can you please bring robin back for patrick and emma ,i really miss her alot on gh because i watch her on gh since 1985 to feb.2012 so i haven’t gh since march so please bring her back so i can watch my gh again , i do really miss robin and patrick on gh because they are my favorites couple on gh , because i use to watch all my soap opera but they not the same like robin and patrick.
OK. Mr M , I guess a little too caught up in the major changes in a ” silly show ” but I really miss the Anna character ” call me silly if you must . I Love her and the “mysterious husband ” Michael . These tv characters Were my bridge to safety so to speak . MMSTC (MATTHEW)

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.
