As Y&R keeps bringing back the vets, add Daytime Emmy-winner and a Daytime Emmy nominee again this year, Greg Rikaart, to the list of Genoa City returnees!  The actor recently completed his run on-air as Days of our Lives’ bad boy, Leo Stark.

Now news on Wednesday has Rikaart returning to his role of Kevin Fisher on the CBS Daytime drama series.

Although no further details are available at this time, according to Soap Opera Digest while Y&R confirms Greg’s return his story is being kept under wraps.

However, look for Rikaart to be back on-screen in late Spring.

On daytime, Greg began his journey on Y&R back in 2003.  14 years later in 2017, and in a shocking move, the series chose to write the character of Kevin off the canvas.  Kevin last popped up in February of 2018 for some episodes.

Glad to hear Kevin Fisher, and his portrayer Greg Rikaart are headed home to Y&R?  Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

I had no doubt that Greg Rikaart would return to Y&R-
Thing is;
ALL soap actors, especially, the stars jump from soap to soap that is what they do.
And-
The top of the rung characters/actors always end up back where they came from.

But- there is no one active at Y&R for Kevin to play-off at the moment (all gone or not significant.
Well, his brother and he isn’t often used, not unless someone needs a lawyer/he doesn’t get stories.

He was just in a terrible story on DAYS. From concept to creation to casting…the entire Leo / Diana story was a hot mess. It is Alex North 2.0. Greg did what was asked of him…which was to play a smarmy disgusting sexual predator…and he did it. But recasting Diana from Genie Francis to Judith Chapman is kind of like bringing in Robin Strasser to replace Melissa Reeves. It didn’t work on any level. Thankfully it is over…maybe JC will get hired back as Gloria where she belongs. Ken and Sheri and all of them have done a pretty good job of reigning in Ron C…but they failed this time!!

I don’t watch DAYS, but I bet the story they had him in was nowhere near as bad as the story Y&R had him in where he was dressed in a silver chipmunk/squirrel suit being a robber or something. I can’t even tell you what the story was about, it was that awful, but that animal suit will forever be embedded in my brain. lol
It was in the top 5 of ridiculously horrible stories. lol

No clue about that other show, don’t watch it. Just Y&R and B&B

I’m with you, SusieQ….unless Chloe is resurrected—-
Even then, what would be Kevin’s place now? Work for Nick? He needs people to work for him, en masse.
I love Greg….so, I do hope his storyline will be challenging.

Greg going back to Y&R does nothing for me, and I don’t want Gloworm to come back either. I was shocked to see he earned an Emmy nom for his work on DAYS. I was glad when he left. Others are fans, I am not.

The only good thing i see Josh Griffith has a vision for Y&R.

I got my wish. After watching him on DAYS and finding out he was done taping there, I prayed Y&R would bring him back. Nice to know that sometimes my prayers get answered.

Good news! Probably tied to Adam’s return.

I wonder if Elizabeth Hendrickson will be returning as well? Her run on GH hasn’t been too compelling.

It has been horrible over at GH. She must be disappointed!

GH does seems to enjoy taking actors away from Y&R and putting them in dreary, unpopular roles. Billy Miller, Michelle Stafford and Elizabeth Hendrickson were the bright lights on Y&R and now they have become that person in the office corridor whom you avoid running into.
That said, utterly delighted Kevin is back! I love his relationship with his brother Michael. Now, let’s bring back the sublime Gloria!

And Jeff!

Nooo. Liked him on Knotts Landing, but didn’t like his character on Y&R.

Maybe a recast?

Thats for sure. Let her stay in P.C , and join up with DOD. She’ll fit right in.

I have never been of fan of Kevin Fisher…

Ditto
Kevins enough as it is, pls dont get Chloe to return too. There romance is dead in the tracks and I never felt any chemistry. Its been done too many times
With all the high profile returns I really hope Mia or any more Rosales dont get cut for said returns. Her and the remaining Rosales are fresh characters that deserve time to flourish. Mia especially is Genoa citys new resident vixen. Shes unhinged and I hope her antics continue.
Characters like Adam yes are key characters but also overkilled. Literally!

Damien, I noticed that you and I agree and feel the same on a lot of things regarding Y&R…

Lol Kevin, we both have good taste!

U must be a fan of the good ol days of y n r! But also realize the show has to move forward and grow to continue!
R u also loving the vintage background music making a comeback?

Hello Damien, YES we both have good taste, lol…Yes, I have been a fan since the middle 70’s which tell you how young I am, lol…YES, loving the vintage background music along with some new…I wish they would continue to use more of the vintage like with the Nikki story, LOVED IT…BTW, good to hear back from you Damien…

Well, Kevin and Chloe and Bella need not stay in hiding if Adam Newman is indeed alive. I mean, if the three Newman women are off the hook with the revelation of JT walking among us, so be it for Chloe too. Will Chelsea come home with Adam? Lots of repairs to be made.

I love watching Kevin Rikaart and hope he is able to have a strong re-entry story and sustained presence in Genoa City as Kevin. I liked Kevin’s friendship with Mariah and his bro chemistry with Michael. This is very good news. Now can Gloria come back and be given something meaningful to do?

I apologize for referring to Kevin Rikaart in my post. Kevin is character and Greg is actor. That said, I add a wish that Kevin, perhaps because of his recent experiences as a father to Bella and living under the radar, returns to Genoa City stronger and far from the goofy persona the character had in the past.

I don’t know. I think the goofyness was part of what made him. Time will tell I guess

As far as the bond between Kevin and Mariah, I am looking forward to seeing them renew their connection. I think the Adam situation should stay how it is. Where and how would he fit in. With the return of Kevin hovering in the distance, I am hoping Gloria is not to far behind. Now that Jack is back where he belongs, Gloria needs to be back at the reception desk where she belongs. I am loving the whole issue of Sharon and Rey. Mia needs to go. She has irritated me since day one.

Lost my response, but essentially it agreed with Soapqueenforever. The exception was Sharon and Rey. I remain agnostic. Had forgotten about Kevin and Chloe, but respected both as well a Gloria.

For me, who is two episodes behind, there exists a lovely, almost Shakespearian, storyline with Kyle and the two transplant women. If done correctly, it could play out for a while without the writers underestimating their viewers.

I agree Tani. Although I was never a Summer fan, and this Kyle annoyed me when he first appeared, (I thought he was playing Kyle as too much of a pompous ass), I started liking him the minute he started in with Lola. I am really feeling for all three of them. I can’t wait to see how this is going to play out. Sick as it sounds, after Phylis broke the mirror and she was looking at herself in the broken chunk, I thought she was going to cut her face, hence the explanation for Michelle’s return. I wonder if they are going to make a big deal out of it, or treat it like any other recast

So happy for Greg — a talented actor who deserves to be in a long-term role. I already miss seeing him on Days. Congrats, Greg!

Good news. Now Jack needs to bring Gloria back.

Absolutely the best news of the day!

Thank God these staples are returning to where they belong. I hope Kevin returns to work with Paul and they hire back detective Harding. Him and Kevin had major chemistry!

They’re lucky to have him back!

Now bring back Judith Chapman!

He was fantastic on Days. His role was groundbreaking and a breath of fresh air- An openly gay male villain that was possibly the son of John Black, a member of one of the grandest families on the show. Instead of being in the mix of everything as Leo the poor guy goes back to being Kevin the computer geek. What a loss!!!

First of all why did he leave Days? He was so funny at times. I dont watch the Young and the Restless sorry but it just doesnt peak my interest. Sorry to see him go, he didn’t last to long on Days. Why is everyone leaving Days?

Have missed this fine young actor. Now please bring back Gloria too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Michael Muhney : “again” is not coming home;

that’s for others

this show has ruined itself, bigger than ever

claim #1 claim number one

the squeal and power just let lose

I admit that Michelle AND Greg ARE Gay Outing

I admit this steam will run lose

without Michael/Adam , no change

Kinda over him. I don’t get people who leave and were supposed to be sooo excited when they come back.
