Greg Vaughan Going To DAYS as Eric Brady, Or Is It Another Role?

Courtesy/IMDB

Courtesy/IMDB

So just who is soap heartthrob Greg Vaughan going to play when he makes his debut on Days of our Lives come this fall?  The former star of General Hospital, where he played Lucky Spencer, has been reported to be the recast for the role of Eric Brady!  Eric is Sami Brady’s (Alison Sweeney’s) twin brother, and the last we all knew of the the character, Eric had moved to Colorado after a near-fatal accident.

However, there are now conflicting reports, and one out from ABC Soaps In Depth, which could be a big red herring, that Vaughan may not be playing Eric after all, but a completely different role.   One thing we do know …  and also according to SID, “When Vaughan debuts on the canvas, he will be playing a ‘holy man’.”    Is that Eric in a different “profession”?

Meanwhile, Vaughan and Sweeney are both currently filming a movie for Hallmark called Two In, perhaps it’s a dry run for working together at DAYS!

So are you excited to see Vaughan back on daytime?  Would you like him to play Eric? Or, someone else?  Let us know your thoughts.

yes, I wish it was on GH even if he came back as another character on GH he would be received warmly by all us viewers.

Well gh drop him for jonathan jackson and now jackson is gone. So greg is better off with days of our lives.

I agree with you that it is better that Greg is on DOOL. It was a crappy thing for GH to dropped him just to have the original actor returned to the show. I though it was a slap in their face that Jonathan Jackson left the series again. Just starting back watching DOOL and Greg is fantastic on the show.

I hope he is playing Eric. I’d like to see all of Marlena’s kids back in town. Belle needs to come back too!

I don’t care what character he plays…I’m just glad he’s back on soaps.

I just started watching Days a few months ago, so don’t know much history, but it seems like he’d be good as Sami’s brother.

I hope he comes on as Eric. It would be good for the show, storyline, and oh yeah…he’s a HottyMcHotHot to boot!

I don’t want him as a holy man. I want him as someone who frequently has his shirt off!

Love him. I never saw him on GH but we went to the same highschool. Class act, that one. No matter who he plays…it will be great. Days has the best actors and cutest guys on their show. Makes sense.

I could see him playing Eric but I would be interested in seeing him come into a role like Shane Donovon’s son Andrew. “Andrew” and “Jeanie” are Brandy/Donovon character’s that we’ve never seen as adults. Would be a great opportunity for Charles and Patsy to come back and make appearances on the show. Wouldn’t be overly surprised if he stepped into the role of Phillip either. Lots of possibilities that could be fun to see unfold but fear that like other ex GHers, (Natalia, Tamaura, Sara Joy Brown) he will be kicked to the curb before we even have time to enjoy.

What a Nice… Idea. Especially… for Shane and Kimberly…. Charles and Patsy. With Bo leaving… We need Bradys pronto.

i honestly… think.. that Shane… would be a good trio… for Billie… and Hope. Love interests. I love Kimberly… don’t get me wrong… but, Shane, has been back… and i thought… this was someone real, for Billie. I thought Shane and Billie, had instant chemistry… and, it’s hard to picture.. someone else not with Hope, but Bo. So, hence, someone familiar. This trio could be way interesting… Heck… Shane and Kristen? Shane PI’ing… sleuthing… the DiMera’s.

I simply adore, Kayla… and her and mom Caroline… need family.

Would have liked for him to come back to general hospital and be lucky again, don’t think they did right by getting rid of him, now gh still has no lucky. I watch Days to so it will be interesting to see him play a whole new Character.

?????????? Have no comments on this..Didn’t see him when he was on GH…I remember the orginial Lucky Spencer……….

He would be great as Eric and it would be nice to see him on soaps. However Jensen Ackles will always be my favourite. I do like Greg though.

I’ve been saying this for a long time, GV would fit SO well on the DAYS set. Alison, Ari, Galen (who Greg is already friends with), Eric, Shawn and crew would match so well personality wise with GV. He would click right away with them.

A while back it was reported that he was offered to test for the role of Quinn but turned it down. Such a good move on his part! An established one with roots, one as important as Sami’s twin brother, is an absolutely better choice of character for him to play.

IMO, Greg could become the next James Scott. Meaning JS was on a show that under appreciated and under valued his talents, and he was given such an integral character on DAYS and became a phenomenon. GV was treated the same by his former show and in a good role has the potential to be huge as well. Plus, they are both so hot that they could be responsible for these horrible heatwaves all along North America. Gorgeous specimens!

I don’t know what the “holy man” thing means, but I would just love for him to come onto DAYS. Dare I say, I pray for it ;).

Blinders, Please…. Gourmet Buffet!

Greg Vaughan as Eric…
Rafe.
Brady.
EJ.
Bo.
Cameron
Daniel
heck, i’ll throw in Will.
Sonny. Too.
Chad… him, as well.
John Black, was fiesty.

These Men.. Can Reel. give the women of DAYS, passion’ista.

Woof!

forgot, JUSTIN! DAYS… write for him and Adrienne.

Glad Eric is back, but I don’t want him to wind up with Nicole. It is quite clear that Dicole is short term because she is attracted to Rafe as well, and the rumors of Dannifer or Daniel and Billie. Plus, I want to see and EJole reunion. Anyway, I think Taylor should come back for Eric. Wonder what his storyline will be. Maybe creating peace between Sami and the rest of the family? And who will be playing that new character named Drew?

Good for Greg Vaughn! I really did not like how he was treated by ABC Daytime so I’m glad to see him moving on with his career and doing well.

I agree abc treated him like crap, Nothing new, He should have never been let go. Looking forward to seeing him on Days.

Sad but true that its nothing new for ABC Daytime.

It will be good to see him again, can’t wait to see what character he will be.

I love GV and I hope that he is Eric Brady and I really hope that the idiots over at Days let the fans know about this soon instead of all of these rumors. They are not doing any favors for themselves by not capitolizing on this casting coupe (and Eileen Davidson’s too).

Greg is fine!!!

I love him on GH

He is very sexy and he has a body that is beautiful!!!

I love him and Sam…they were sexy!!

I very glad that greg vaughan sign with days of our lives, but I think little bit to old to play eric brady but he does end playing that character it will just fine. I think they should recast him austin reed (plus I am pat muldoon fan) but pat. Is better off if days writer are gonna write his character like that. I hope greg rocks days!

i like this new actor for the role of eric brady they needed a new grown up actor to play that part an adult version of eric brady

So glad to see Greg Vaughn back on a soap!

I love Eric and I think he should play the priest part. & Love Nicole.
