If this is indeed true, this would be another loss for the number one soap opera, The Young and the Restless.   This evening, rumors have been flying around the Internet that Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe) has decided not to renew her contract with the CBS soap opera and will thus be departing the series.

According to a tweet from TV Guide Magazine’s Michael Logan, he relates: “NOOOO!!! Has @Theehendrickson chosen not 2 renew her #YR contract? That’s what I’m hearing & don’t like it one bit!   There has been no comment from Elizabeth at this time.

If the talented actress has indeed decided to depart Y&R, it would end her more than six year run in the role of Chloe.  Currently, Elizabeth is major in story with Chloe having an emotional free fall from the ramifications from Delia’s death.

In addition, Elizabeth is still in the running for the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for this years Daytime Emmys where she scored a Pre-Nom in the category early last week.  She has been considered a strong contender to make it to the finals.

What do you think about the rumors that Elizabeth may be leaving Y&R?  Would you be sad to see her go?  Share your comments below!

It sure seems like a revolving door in the Casting department at the Y & R. The cast and “recasts” are almost unrecognizable as it is. We have lost so many cast members in the last year, Michelle Stafford, Billy Miller, Emme Rylan, Michael Muhney, Hartley Sawyer, Stephen Nichols, Blake Hood to name a few. If she leaves, I wish her well in her future endeavours. I will miss her for sure.

And all this since JFP took control. Isn’t this exactly what happened when she ruled GH?

Not really. She chopped all of the over-40-year-old actresses back to recurring and then a year later either killed those characters or just never brought them on.

Farren Phelps hasn’t really touched the “oldies” on this show basically because there weren’t many to get rid of.

My bet is that Melody Thomas Scott would be next to get the boot from Phelps.

Im still waiting for Drucilla to come back and Sharon is my favorite

I didn’t watch GH when JFP was there but I’m fairly certain this is classic Jill. Stephen Nichols, Michelle Stafford, Billy Miller and Michael Muhney are the ones I miss most, especially the latter two. Their performances at the end of January were so amazing, it was both a blessing to see and a burden because they were both gone right after such stellar scenes.

If Elizabeth is leaving, it will be another huge loss for the show, especially after the knockout performances she’s delivered recently. I think she deserves the Emmy this year and I really hope she stays on the show.

They don’t call JFP the Soap Slayer for nothing. CBS is probably wanting a reason to cancel Y&R and JFP will get them a reason. As the ratings keep falling.

Don’t like Chelsea

I WISH CHELSEA WOULD LEAVE! I love Sharon and Jack and old Billy

You hit the nail on the head. JFP ruined GH, especially not letting Steve Burton have a contract suitable for him and his family. But as you pointed out, Steve is a veteran and she has issues with the Vets. The Vets are the best part of Y&R. Thats been a problem over at GH that was fixed when RC took over. He appreciates mature talent such as Sonny, Alexis, Rick, Julian, Luke, Tracey, Monica, Ava, Duke, and Anna. All these people are in great story lines, over 50, and are great actors. Oh, and Ron is bringing on Donna Mills. Great stuff!

I hope she is not leaving, I love elizabeth she is a wonderful actress. If she leaves, please don’t recast. maybe kevin fisher will turn out gay. I would love that.

I forgot to mention, Greg Rikaart who plays kevin Fisher came out of the closet on twitter 5 months ago, he is so cute and boyish. I think he is so sexy. LoL.

i don’t think it was any secret he was gay but good for him for coming out officially. But I would not count on any gay storylines on Y&R while there are homophobic people in charge over there, if anything Greg might be next on their list to get off the show now that he has come out to social media. Not saying it will happen, but I will not shock if it did.

Considering the career of an actor is most about creating, embodying and creating a pseudo-yet very real character in TV, film and theatre, we have to realize they each need to grow and explore their own potential. Although fans are attached to these very ‘real’ seeming characters on Y&R, they really are the highly skillful creation by that actor. When one thinks of the multiple actors who have adapted their own talents to the stage with Shakespeare’s plays, or other well known writings for film, we need to feel grateful for their diligence to craft.
My point is that Elizabeth is still a young woman. Six years of her life has been the very disciplined, Monday to Friday devotion to the character, Chloe. Perhaps both as her own person, Elizabeth, and also as the actor creating Chloe, it is a need for her (Elizabeth) to explore other possibilities in her profession.
Often it seems fans are only able to see the character, not the actor behind the character on shows such as Y&R. To feel challenged in any job means to feel the freedom to explore, have personal challenges in the entertainment world that are there for the taking.
IF Elizabeth does choose to walk away from her tole at Y&R, I can wish her the very best in any future choices she may be making. We also need to appreciate Elizabeth may wish to pursue other talents, perhaps enter an entirely new field of endeavour or even attend college or University. Whatever she choose to do, I hope fans of Y&R are able to be nothing but supportive.
All the best Elizabeth, whatever path you choose.
If this could be passed along to her, Michael, I would greatly appreciate that. Thanks.

JFP knows how to drive them away so she can replace them with her favorites.

Mika…YES…MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY!!!!! AGREED!!!!! Jill Farren Phelps has proven (over and over again) that she DOES NOT give a damn about any of us soap fans…AT ALL!!!!! Heartless and clueless woman!!!!!!!

And yet everyone keeps watching?! As long as everyone keeps “saying” they’re going to stop watching but continue to do so JFP will continue on.

When they ratings go down, the bleeding will stop. Until then the higher ups don’t care what happens.

I despise what JFP she has done to the show, its fans and mostly the amazing talented actors. If you recall while at the helm of GH she did the same thing nearly causing the show to be cancelled. Once she was Fired, the new regime began bringing all the fan favorites back and today GH is far better than Y&R and the ratings have improved drastically. Just to recap our losses since she has taken control: Michelle Stafford, Billy Miller, Genie Francis, Blake Hood, Emmy Rylan, Hartley Sawyer, Michael Muhney, Stephen Nichols not to mention the loss of our beloved Jeanne Cooper. Now possibly Elizabeth Hendrickson. She continues to hire her FOJ in that untalented boring Steve Burton, recast Abby, Noah, Billy, Kyle, Summer and others with her friends. The rumor is she plans to recast Adam with a former employee as well. Please FIRE this menace to our show, it is already unrecognizable, I refuse to watch and have not since BM and MM left.

Yup, gotta know there’s something stinking up the pot at Y&R, and since all the ship-jumping has happened on JFP’s watch…well you can do the math!
I don’t blame EH for leaving if she does, she’s been stuck in a nowhere relationship for years! I really enjoy her friendship with Chelsea, but I’m guessing MCE will be the next to walk.

@SZima MCE will not walk she and Jessica Collins are the two female pets on the show. Concerning EH everybody knows Guza and Phelps fired RH over at GH with the same storyline then fans revolted and they hired her back. I do not think everything is hearts an flowers over there like they all claim. I can tell you one thing JFP could care less about working things out with anyone if she walks they will just replace her character if they decide they need her for story with a FOJ.

I like Chloe so this news kinda sucks. However, aside from Delia dying, the character has mostly been a sidekick/bestie since JFP and Co. took over. They didn’t give her much else besides the pairing with Kevin and those two fit more as a younger version of Phyllis and Michael than as a couple imo. The young set is just underwhelming as a whole I think. Maybe Chloe could crossover to B&B? I wish EH the best!

If Elizabeth Hendrickson leaves than Y&R is losing yet more talent. Her scenes in the aftermath of Delia’s death were amazing and it is easy to see why she is in contention for an Emmy nomination. But as much as I adore Chloe the writing hasn’t been there for her since then. She has become a secondary character in her own daughter’s death. So really I can’t blame Elizabeth Hendrickson for looking elsewhere. She’s talented enough to succeed beyond this show.

I agree, I hate the way they wrote that. All of the focus was on Billy and Victoria. It should have been on Billy and Chloe. Terrible writing.

It was terrible writing. Chloe should have never been in a secondary story relating to her daughter’s death. The story became all about Billy and Victoria when it was HER daughter.

Is Y&R really still the #1 soap?

My thoughts exactly. I don’t see how it can be after this past year. I love the show and I really want to see it succeed, but lately the writing has been pretty bad and so many beloved actors have left the show, it’s too much negative without any positive to balance it out.

Cady McClain joining the show and Tristan Rogers’ return have both been positives, but they aren’t enough after Billy Miller, Michael Muhney’s exits, and now maybe Elizabeth Hendrickson’s. Too much talent is leaving the show and not being replaced by viable alternatives.

If this is what Elizabeth needs to do, it’s fine with me. She’ll be dearly missed. I’ve enjoyed her character Chloe since day one. I wish her all the best in everything she does!

Y&R can not afford to lose more great actors/characters..
It is starting to be unrecognizable as the awesome soap it once was..
Without the greats;
Katherine/Jeanne Cooper
Adam/Michael Muhney
Billy/Billy Miller
Phyllis/Michelle Stafford
Chloe/Elizabeth Hendrickson (perhaps)

.. Y&R seems empty..

Not to mention ALL the other good characters it has lost all in the past 2 years,,

Hope that Elizabeth stay with YR

Haven’t watched since MM and BM left. Chloe used to be one of my favorites but, except for the Delia death story she’s been given less and less in regards to story lines. I don’t think she’ll be missed. Maybe Kevin will go next (GR)

A great loss for Y&R if this is true. EH has grown so much as an actress since her AMC days. She would be a great Sam Morgan if GH ever had to recast.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all seems like the writers have really messed up . Alot of the actors are probably as upset as all of us how stories are being written out just don’t say anything out loud . I believe that Elizabeth is also on the show that comes on ION at night drawing a blank right now [maybe flashpoint] is the name ??? but I wish her only the best . She has done a great job. Y& R needs to wake up before they lose their show , losing alot of good actors lately

This show has been a disaster for awhile now….The dark & boring storylines, the constant cast changes, & the non compromising from TPTB. if she leaves it would just be another nail in the coffin of this show….What is going on with the show….so many people blame JFP….is she the only one with power….whoever is making decisions over there better rethink what they’re doing….I was a long time viewer…off & on…..I just don’t look forward to watching any more….I do…because I want all the soaps to succeed….but really , enough’s enough !

Its okay, let her go. They can write her off and send her to Fairview for now.

Who can blame her? She was barely a bit player in her own “daughters” death.

JFP,and her hatred of strong females characters, has managed to drive away all the real talent on this show.

Soon enough Nu-Noah will be considered a veteran.

Rob…that annoying Nu-Noah a veteran??? HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Dude…good one…LOL!!!!!

I sure hope she renews. Elizabeth has made the role of Chloe so rich and layered. I really enjoy her performances, but wish her well in whatever she decides to do.

This is not suprising because a lot of people left the show for different reasons but it think it is the storylines with the characters and the path that the show is taking that make actors to leave

I like chloe but there is nothing else for her to do but leave. Without Delia, chloe is really not needed……..just saying…………..

The character had so much potential but over the years Chloe has been watered down to a bit player that I would not blame the actress playing her for wanting to leave to explore other roles. But right now we don’t know if this is a rumor, fact or a ploy to get a better contract by getting her fans riled up over her leaving. So until it is official it a bit premature to speculate on why she is leaving and who is to blame.

I love Liz, but if it’s her decision to leave, don’t try turning it into something it is not, like Miller leaving or MM being fired.

It is was it is.

Even today soap “stars” can move on if they wish, and she’s had a fantastic year and has been featured a LOT since JG started writing in Oct 2012.

Having said that, I hope she stays.

It’s hard to ignore the smoke, Pat. You can’t blame people for putting two and two together.

Again, if she chooses to leave, there is no smoke.

Michael Logan reported she almost didn’t re-sign last time.

People can say whatever they want, but if the actress wants to leave stop the silly talk.

I like her, but right now, don’t care if she stays or goes.

I suspect that she was let go and this is Sony’s way of putting the best spin on it. The fact is she hasn’t been interesting to watch since her affair with Billy ended, about six months or year after she joined the show. Pairing her with Kevin was the final nail…Maria/Scott/Hogan are to thank for that.

The show is an utter mess. The actors are leaving for a reason. The show no longer works. You cannot have such a mass exodus and expect the show to survive. A popular show thrives because of its continuity of the cast. I do not blame Elizabeth. Her stories have been dreary and sad. The show was so much more vibrant and fun under Maria Bell. I put the blame on JFP period. Her focus is all wrong.

I really do wish they would do a gay storyline with Kevin, it’s sooo long over due. This is their chance. As much as I would hate to see Chloe go, I can get over it if there is sufficient story to go along with it. You know, Chloe goes of that nuthouse all the crazies go to on Y&R, Kevin is devastated and heartbroken. He starts having issues again about the childhood closet, and “Terrible Tom”. his mean step-daddy. About this time, Alex finally comes out of the closet, confides in Kevin, and that’s when he is finally able to be honest about himself as well. There ya go. That’s how I see it. Boom, somebody give me a job. woopwoop.

Jeff…I think that your idea actually makes a WHOLE LOT OF SENSE!!!!! I don’t see why not. And, besides…Greg Rikaart (aka Kevin) is openly gay in real life. I think that Y&R should run with this……….

I remember reading something about Elizabeth saying that it was brave of Billy Miller to leave and dare to think about doing something new, or something like that. I wonder if she was considering it even back then. How wonderful it would be to see Elizabeth and Billy work together somewhere again. Great chem.

I like EH, she is a good actress! I don’t blame her, I’d leave too, all the writers have her do is cry, gets old. Dee should have never been killed, story line was not worth it. Maybe she could take Kevin, Lily, & Summmer, with her….On another matter I am so tired of Victor having his hands in every story line. While I am on a rant please give David Ton another shirt, he looks young now but the shirt he had on today makes him look like a little boy. I want to know why he is not in jail?? Oh well glad for FF…..

Sue…I (for one) am NOT IMPRESSED with David Tom in the role of Billy Abbott…this time around. No. DT looks like and acts like an immature and annoying 9th Grader onscreen…BLECH!!!!! By the way, I loved your comment about David Tom…LOL!!!!! So true!!!!!!

Thanks! I hate to say mean things about an actor, but it’s the truth. Not impressed with DT either..Can the casting dept. not see how an actor comes across on tape before they hire them.. there are a few more that need to be recast..JPF has just ruined Y&R, I thought MAB was bad enough.

If she does opt to leave the show, I can’t say that I blame her. Chloe has been an afterthought in her own stories for years — she’s been pretty much ignored in the story of her daughter’s death so that it could be all about whipped Billy and his self-centered wife and before that she was in the abysmal cat burglar storyline with Kevin where all the “action” took place off-camera and then they talked about it at Crimson Lights.

I cannot believe this! Elizabeths role as Cloe reached its peak of displaying this actresses talent , when she played the ongoing scenes dealing with the loss of a child.

Everyone involved in those scenes did a wonderful job of dealing with this painful subject and having experienced this type of loss myself this isssue and it touched me deeply. all actors involved did a fine job on this but Elizabeth was the very best and continues to be. it is very odd that all involved in this storyline suddenly leave,.

i hope Elizabeth does not go but i know this part brought out her best as an actress and the story line helped me personally. i wish more soap story lines were of this quality instead of the endless changing of bed partners. sue

I’d say she is leaving a SINKING SHIP! What the he** are they doing to a show?! Think this will keep them #1 ?
She may have left on her own volition, because the writing is on the wall. Jill ‘s confidence is based on temporarily high ratings. We’ll see if they stay that way.
Like Michelle Stafford, better to get out before they are all umemployed and looking for work at the same time.
This is a terrible foreboding. So sad. Loved Chloe & EH . But I quit awhile back.

Omg.. NOT ANOTHER ONE! Y&R plzzz get it together. Any more losses and his soap is done. As for chloe, stay where you are! Your talent is needed.

It is the Young and Restless not the Old and Bitter. Many of the story lines are rather repetitive with the on going theme of infidelity. A good house cleaning to the story lines would be a lot more productive than the continuing actor changes which have occurred over the last few months. I’ve bee watching since 1974 and I must say that I am quickly losing interest with the show. A bit more reality would go along way.

No I would not be sad too see her go. I wish she was leaving, good riddens.

Y and R is sooooooo stupid!!! Boring and petty and the new Billy talks like Marlon Brando and Nikki talks like a porn star…..bahhhh. I want the old Y&R back

The reason I started watching Y&R is because of Elizabeth H. Sorry to see her go too . Geez, can Y&R afford to lose all the top rated characters? When “Chloe” left that was it. I’m done watching soaps. Might as well watch stupid reality tv instead…there’s enough of it.

‘The Bold and the Beautiful’s’ Heather Tom on Working with TV Son Crew Morrow: ‘I’ve Always Wanted to Play an Overprotective, Overbearing Mother’ (Exclusive)

Heather Tom, Crew Morrow

In an ironic twist of fate, and only in the soaps, The Bold and the Beautiful’s Heather Tom’s (Katie Logan) on-screen son is played by Crew Morrow (Will Spencer), the now 21-year-old son of her former TV brother on The Young and the Restless, Joshua Morrow (Nick Newman).

For those who have followed the six-time Daytime Emmy-winning actress’ career, Tom began on Y&R back in 1990 as Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor’s (Eric Braeden) daughter Victoria Newman. She played the role until 2003. Four years later, she joined the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful and has been there ever since.

Next month, at the upcoming 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards, Heather might add two gold statuettes to her collection with nominations for Lead Actress in a Daytime Drama Series (which would be her record-breaking 7th for an actress), and one for being a part of B&B’s writing team.

WHICH MORROW IS IN THE ROOM?

In a new livestream conversation on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel, Heather recalled her reaction to seeing Crew Morrow on set when he started on B&B over two years ago, and pointed out the uncanny similarities between her TV son and her former TV brother.

“I just can’t even tell you how genetics is weird,” explained Tom. “Because it’s like they are the same person; the cadence and his voice and the way he laughs. When Crew was on the shows for the first couple of months, it would take me out of the scene. I would be like, ‘Oh, my God! It’s Joshua.’ It’s crazy. It’s so wonderful to have him. I love having him there. We’re so lucky to have Crew. I think he’s a wonderful addition to the Spencer family. I love that Bill (Don Diamont) and Katie’s son is on the canvas in a real way.”

In recent weeks, fans of The Bold and the Beautiful have seen a different side of Katie in regards to her son, Will. She simply does not approve, and does not trust Melissa Dylan (Sydney Bullock) as far as she can throw her. That puts a wrinkle in the mother/son relationship.

Photo: JPI

HEATHER TOM IS THRILLED THE CHARACTER OF WILL SPENCER IS ALL GROWN-UP

“Honestly, I’ve been waiting for this story since Will was born,” exclaimed Heather  “To be like the overprotective, overbearing mother, momma bear, I love it!”

As for Katie’s attitude. which many feel may need an “attitude adjustment,” Tom has it all figured out on just how she is tackling her scenes! “I have all kinds of justifications for it,” reveals the multi-talented star.

Photo: JPI

KATIE SEES ALL SORTS OF RED FLAGS WITH DYLAN

“So. it’s not just Katie being the b-word,” proclaims Tom. “It’s that Will, her son, whom she loves and supports so much, has been constantly saying about Electra (Laneya Grace), ‘This is the love of my life. She’s broken my heart. I love her. All I want to do is get her back.'”

“So I think Katie could be like, ‘Okay, well, Electra’s a little flighty, but my son loves her, so I’m going to try to support that relationship,” explains Heather. “In addition, Will has never told his mother, ‘I love Dylan,’ at all. I think Katie is thinking of telling Will, ‘You should run, not walk, from this girl who seems somewhat obsessed!’ I don’t know where they’re going with the Electra/Will/Dylan triangle, but I think Katie’s very focused on Dylan for a multitude of reasons.”

So, do you like seeing Heather Tom as Katie going into overprotective momma bear-mode, now that the series has a major young triangle between Electra/Will/Dylan? What do you think about the fact that Heather has been a long-running scene partner with father/son across two different soaps in Joshua Morrow and Crew Morrow? Let us know in the comment section, and in case you missed it, check out our full conversation with Heather below.

‘General Hospital’s’ Finola Hughes Delivers the ‘Power Performance of the Week’

Published

on

By

Finola Hughes

There was never any doubt that in watching the riveting and emotional scenes on General Hospital which featured Finola Hughes as a PTSD-driven and mentally tortured Anna Devane, that when the climatic moments in Anna’s story aired, that we would not be singing the praises of Hughes. Once again, Finola showcased why she is one of the soap opera genres greatest assets and actresses.

In the key scenes, Anna has had a complete breakdown as she has lured and cornered Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) on Mount Emerson, and even thought through how she would kill her and cover it up, all thanks to hearing the voice and seeing a dead man, Peter August (Wes Ramsey). It’s visions of Peter that keeps egging Anna on to pull the trigger on Britt while in her delusional state.

Before Britt realizes that Anna trapped her in meeting her in Mount Emerson, she is very confused as to why she was all the way out in the boondocks to talk about what happened to her brother, Cassius Faison. However, Britt soon learned that what Anna was about to do is personal, and not professional, as she pulls the gun on her.

Courtesy/ABC

ANNA FIRES HER GUN IN GAME-CHANGING MOMENT

When Jason (Steve Burton) shows up to save the say, he tries to talk Anna off the ledge, begging her to not shoot Britt and make one of the greatest mistakes of his life. When Jason figured out Anna felt she needed to kill anyone related to Cesar Faison, he made her think twice, because that would mean, she also would need to end the lives of two of Maxie’s children, James and Bailey Lu.

Anna can’t stop seeing hallucinations of Peter pushing her to shoot Britt. Suddenly and completely overcome, Anna fires bullets straight in the direction of where she sees Peter as she declares this all must end tonight.

After the shots are fired, Anna realized what she had done and just sobbed and shook. It was a devastating and heartbreaking moment for longtime General Hospital fans to see the beloved Anna Devane, super spy, so lost. Anna explained to Jason, after he was able to disarm her, how she was being pushed to kill Britt by her visions of Peter.

EMMY-WORTHY SCENES FOR 2027

In another hankie-inducing moment, Anna just grabs Jason and breaks down in his arms. If these weren’t Emmy-worthy scenes, we don’t know what is, and it must be remembered by Hughes, General Hospital, and hopefully the voting body of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) when Emmy submissions and voting get underway in 2027 for the 54th annual Daytime Emmys.

From everything we noted above, to the sheer brilliance of her work, Michael Fairman TV names Finola Hughes, this week’s Power Performance of the Week.

Now let us know, do you agree with our pick of Finola? Were you moved to tears during the gut-wrenching scenes? Should Finola include these scenes in an Emmy submission in 2027, should she decide to compete for Lead Actress gold? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

RATINGS: ‘General Hospital’ Shows Most Gains in Total Viewers Week-Over-Week and Up in Key Demo

Published

By

General Hospital

The ratings are out for the week of August 24-28 for your favorite broadcast television soaps, and it was ABC’s General Hospital which added the most total viewers and planted itself firmly in third place in its battle with Beyond the Gates in the key demos of women 18-49 and 25-54.

According to Soap Opera Network, all daytime dramas were up year-over-year, and General Hospital was joined by The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful with gains in their total audience viewership, while Beyond the Gates was only slightly off pace for the ratings week.

Let’s take a look at what had viewers tuning-in, starting with General Hospital, who added +79,000 viewers. While still under the 2 million viewers mark (which they can hopefully return in the coming weeks) their overall tally was an average of 1, 935,000 tuning-in, while still up year-to-year +136,000.

GENERAL HOSPITAL

In addition, GH while actually down from the previous week in the 18-49 ratings share, they still out performed Beyond the Gates for third place. However, GH was firmly in third place for the 25-54 ratings share.

The stories that were featured for the week included: Anna’s (Finola Hughes) PTSD and struggle with painful memories tied to Cesar Faison, and her concocting a plan to get rid of Britt (Kelly Thiebaud), Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) recording Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) threatening her, and later running into a severe threat from Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) regarding Kai (Jens Austin Astrup) and Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) shooting, and Drew enlisting Ava (Maura West) to gain leverage over Jack, which resulted in Ava drugging him, while Drew went snooping for the evidence Brennan had against him.

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS

Y&R remained in the top spot amongst all the soaps once again with 3,062,000 tuning in, and up +35,000 for the week, while year-to-year still showing strong gains at +231,000 viewers. However, while Y&R remained #1 for the 25-54 ratings share, it fell to #2 in the 18-49 ratings share behind The Bold and the Beautiful.

In story for the week, Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) sobriety in rehab was a focus, as was Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) hitting the Jabot office couch and having sex for the first time, and Lily (Christel Khalil) and Billy (Jason Thompson) battling over control and ownership of Chancellor Industries.

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL

B&B is continuing to be inch closer to Y&R for the top spot, separated by a little more than 300,000 viewers. For the ratings week, the series posted a total audience of 2,719,000 adding +31,000 eyeballs overall, and like Y&R, is up year-to-year in its performance.

The CBS soap now , now in its 40th season is +217,000 from the same time last year. In the key demos, The Bold and the Beautiful was in the top spot for the women 18-49 ratings share and number two for women 25-54.

In story, the major threat to Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Finn (Tanner Novlan) and Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) and Daphne’s (Murielle Hilaire) marriages continued as Steffy and Carter swore they would not tell their spouses that the two had a drunken hook-up. But as viewers know now, Steffy is pregnant!

BEYOND THE GATES

Beyond the Gates tallied an average of 1,611,000 total viewers for the week, up +72.000 year-over-year and down slightly in tune-in for the week losing just -36,000 viewers. The CBS soap came in fourth place in the key demos for the week behind General Hospital, with whom they are often trading places for the third spot.

In story, after Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett) was released from the hospital, Hayley (Marquita Goings) stuck to her plan, doubling down on poisoning him and even getting caught in a major lie or meeting with Randy (Maurice P. Kerry), as Vernon (Clifton Davis) may be on to her machinations.

The ratings report is generated from Nielsen (Live+Same Day Big Data + Panel) for the week of August 24-28, 2026

So, what did you think of the performance of General Hospital for the ratings period? Which daytime drama has you most likely to tune-in each day? Which has you tuning-out? Let us know what’s working, or not working for you in story, via the comment section below.
