Today are the birthdays of both Rebecca Budig (Hayden Barns) and that of General Hospital scribe, Jean Passanante!
And with Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher) and Elizabeth Webber’s (Rebecca Herbst) secret that “Jake Doe” is really Jason Morgan (Billy Miller), it’s causing them to act in ways that no one ever expected! One of the things this duo put in motion was put a stop to Hayden mouthing off to Jake and Sam (Kelly Monaco) on just what his true identity is! If viewers recall, Hayden was shot by a hitman hired by Nikolas, for which Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore) took the fall! Hayden ended up in a coma with Nikolas and Liz’s secret tucked deep inside her mind!
However, now comes some hope that Rebecca Budig may be on her way back to GH sooner than expected! In a tweet from Passanante to Budig today, Jean related on Budig’s birthday wish: “Thanks, Rebecca! It’s so fabulous to write for you again!” Plus, it would just seem like a no-brainer for Hayden to start to put the threat of God into Nikolas and Liz’s plot of deception … if she were to wake up!
So, do you think Budig will be back on GH sooner than later? Do you hope she wakes up out of her coma and can escalate the truth coming out that Jake is Jason? Comment below!

Except for the Sloane stuff (I think he’s a sleaze for taking advantage of a grieving Anna), I agree with almost everything else here su0000. As a longtime Y&R fan currently suffering thru the Pratt/JFP regime, while some fans are unhappy with the show and the ratings are kind of lagging, GH has been like a breath of fresh soap air for me and i’m also looking forward to what’s coming.
I continue to say Mr. X that Sloane did NOT take advantage of Anna-at least in his mind. It is abundantly clear now, and even was pretty clear since he hit town originally in the form of Robb Derringer, that Sloane had strong feelings for Anna. Yes, he was an ass, but there’s a fine line between hate & love & you could tell he was besotted even when he was a jerk. lol
I will stick to belief that GH is better than Pratt’s Y&R. His energy is a good idea. I like a few of his ideas but really he is such a hack. So many folks comparing Carlivati & Pratt and all I know is this: they both add camp along with the drama but I only scream w/joy or cry w/Carlivati’s writing. Example: The scenes w/Sean pleading guilty in court & TJ crying & their talk-2 characters I have 0 use for. Still, the ripped my heart out w/his departure scenes!! Waiting on Pratt to do that on Y&R. I have no problem with outlandish, but throw some heart in there somewhere Mr. Pratt! That is what is missing from Y&R, a show that build their legacy on heart!! I pray their fans get it rectified as soon as possible!!!

Yes, Mr. X. I agree with Laurie. We have been here before, discussing this very topic. I guess it’s a matter of perception. But, I really would like to dispel that notion, if I may…….albeit it does not mean I’m right.
I do not feel that Sloane took advantage of Anna. She is not a babe in the woods….she is a grown woman. They found some solace in each other’s arms. He loves her. We could turn the tables and say she used him to ease some of her grief, which to me is ridiculous in the first place. But, that’s another story. To be fair, no one took advantage of anyone. It was a moment in time of giving and taking for both….but, it meant much more to Sloane than just a passing fancy. …just my two-cents worth, again.
I dont blame Sloan. He didnt twist Anna’s arm to sleep with him. She pissed all over Duke’s memory herself!

Patrick, wasn’t Billy great?!! He was so at home in those ELQ and Quartermaine scenes in his snazzy suit! Of course he would be because he did so much corporate on Y&R. He definitely turned it on! Playful, passionate, comfortable, eye contact, raised voice,digging in. Then, now more than ever he looks like he is happy to be on GH!! Those that continue to knock him on GH couldn’t possibly be watching the same scenes I am. He has finally turned on that undefinable thing-the “it” factor. Glad for all GH fans that don’t know his previous work. Meet Billy Miller-Jason Morgan Quartermaine.
Tyler Christopher is having some of his best work on GH. Evil Nik is impossible to ignore. No fast forward on his scenes. The scenes at Shriners Hospital was downright Emmy worthy. I refuse to delete them from my DVR. You know the actors are really all in when with the tears comes the snot rolling! He’s knocking it out of the park. RC has given so many their shining moments. Despite what some way he does this for the cast he inherited AND his creations/hires. 2 of the 4 GH best acting winners this year were inherited: Chad Duell and Tony Geary.

Possibly, Patty. The most damaging information Hayden has on Nik is Jake’s identity. I would think that Nikolas is keeping tabs on her medical progress. I am sure that when she wakes up, he will try to finish her off. Everything else has already been exposed. But, you’re right, she may have more dirt on him of which we are not aware. Nonetheless, I want Hayden back. She makes the screen sizzle. I think the tide of romance may change course and Nik will WANT her, regretting what he did. She and Nik together are ‘the cat’s meow’. Is that the right expression?…LOL. I know, wishful thinking?
As it always happens in soaps, Nik’s takeover will not last. ELQ is a family company….the premise, I am assuming, is no intruders/outsiders permitted. Nik may have reached for the stars and gotten much, much more than a handful…..but, the fact still remains, his triumph will be temporary.

I HATE the thought of Michael forgiving Sonny…at least so soon. The little girl is much safer at the Qs than with either Sonny or Ava, and being separated from his daughter for such a short time, should Michael give her back, is nothing compared to keeping Michael from AJ his whole life…oh…and not to mention, killing him. I’d like Micharl to stay a Q, Jason to go back to the Q fold…and to start building that family again. (I’m hoping Dillon stays; still pissed Ned ala Wally Kurth is gone.)

I wish RC would wake up from his coma and write character driven drama instead of the disjointed mess he currently writes…Did Sylvester Stallone have a sex change and become cartoony Denise…isnt there any nice clothes in wardrobe for Genie Francis…she looks like she gets her clothes from a really bad thrift shop…Tony should shave…i know he has had medical problems but he looks totally worn out…time to drop half the cast and bring back more medical drama…add some romance…Maxi and Nathan are shown in bed too often…..Franco and Nina win for worse couple ever…..Rosalee’s secret is such a secret i dont think the writer knows what it is…GH hasnt been too good in recent years but had entertaining moments…now its at its worse!!! i watch about one episode a week now!!!

Other than taking a peek to see if Luke and Laura ever make it to that promised “big adventure,” I’ve been nearly completely avoiding this show for the past month…..because, yes, it’s THAT bad! And bringing back “Brazen Hayden,” creating yet another insipid newbie to force down our throats or dishing up more of the same old Sappy, Grossalie, TJ, Jordan, Ric, Nina, Val-Chops, Lucy or Alexis is NOT going to make things any better. I don’t know how many times the showrunners have to be told this….but after ignoring these pleas they then they have the temerity to wonder why their ratings are down in my personal demographic…hello???? First of all, bring back Britt!!!!! Secondly, clean house of those truly unnecessary characters—-listed above— that add no interest or have no relevance to the canvas, and replace them with proven old favorites that fans ask for again and again…..then write absorbing, in-depth stories for them! It really is that simple!
I like a couple of these people, Shay. But, I must agree there has been such an influx of actors coming to make my head spin.
I like Sabrina, as you know…but, unless there is a REAL place/purpose for her, such as Sonny’s daughter, then, I agree, …..she is not needed. And, Avery could have any nanny/ au paIr. However, I can see the story will be that the baby is accustomed to Sabrina’s presence, and it would be in Avery’s best interest to leave things status quo…even in Sonny’s house.
To me, Rosalie, Valerie and Rick are the biggest space fillers, and time-wasters.
Yes…clean house with all those you mentioned…im not a fan of Hayden as well…she’s only around to sleep with Nik and blackmail him…so is Jennifer Smith there to do the same with Luke but Jen is far more interesting and better developed character…keep her as the new Helene and let her and Nik be enemies…Luke and Laura is slow motion storytelling but its a tad way better than all those characters i agree with you that they should drop…now watch…Sonny will go after Rosalee for trying to help Nik take ELQ from Micheal then he’ll learn Rosalee(a big yawn) is his daughter(another big yawn)…itll be an OMG moment and then the story will go on as if nothing happened…nothing happens is exactly why this show is down…have Sonny kill Rosalee and on her deathbed tells Sonny she is her daughter…killing her off this way or any way works for me!!!

Meanwhile, in what universe is Sappy the brightest bulb in town? How did this happen? She is not even wearing her Ugly Betty Glasses anymore, and yet, we are to believe she is smarter and wiser than Michael, Tracy and Sam?

Shay, I wont quit watching but I feel your discomfort. I agree with all the crappy characters you mentioned but I do like Hayden. She can act and is in the middle of a big reveal that helps make her relevant.
Hey, Harry. I think Sabrina’s been portrayed as extremely bright from the beginning; she aced her nursing test, reignited the Nurses Ball, figured out Britt was lying…and self aware of her emotional state, motivation and regret after she recovered from her breakdown. I also think she’d make a great Lila/ Emily- type moral compass in the Quartermaine family so I’m hoping they keep her with Michael.
As for Valerie…okay. She’s got a touch of an, errrrr, overbite. Lol…but I still think she’s gorgeous and I’m curious to see where they’re taking her character, and who her father is.
@Harry….Thank you for the kind thoughts, but I always feel perfectly at ease taking a few days off here and there because of your fine capability to humorously and commandingly address all necessary situations! Even if I failed to make much comment, I did read all of your marvelous recent remarks…..tres bien, mon cher!!!! Not only did you masterfully defend the character of Laura—as well as the great part she played in GH history—but you did so in a most beautiful fashion, whilst also putting su0000 in her proper place more than once!!!! If Ms. Martinez must stay, I hope it is for a darn good and credible reason, not just another contrived plot point like the sort the show runners keep lamely inventing for Sappy! As for your thoughts regarding Hayden, I concur…she’s such a vulgar little trollop, and I haven’t missed her sleazy antics one whit….but coming back she is, so I’m praying her appearance is very short-lived! Putting her with Dante in an adulterous union is utterly gross…..and you are spot on about her constantly hovering about him….it’s so obvious she’s up to no good, so she should just cut out the innocent act, because I’m not buying it! As for “Juliffer?”….how about that little portmanteau? (Just a bit snappier than “Jenlian.” LOL.) I could definitely see those two joining up for business and pleasure, and they would make for a far more appealing equation than the blowsy Alexis and Mr. Jerome. Could her paternity not also be courtesy of Lorenzo’s brother, Luis???? I wasn’t watching GH when he was prominently mentioned, but I am aware that he existed, although now is presumed dead? (As if that means anything…LOL.) Perhaps this familial link could be how Ted King could return to Port Charles, since his other identity is still tied up in that nasty Prospect Park business, right? I never doubted that she would be back– that is why soaps invented the coma device, a means to delay a big reveal as long as possible. Of course like most coma victims on soaps she will wake up and not remember — delaying it all again. It is all so predictable.

No more newbies for a while PLEASE I beg you!! Oh, Genie is not the reason GH is suffering. It the stories that aren’t going anywhere and characters acting out of character. I have want GH is flourish, but it won’t happen this way.

Yes, yes, yes! Bring Hayden back. She is just a superb firecracker of an actress. I would like her to go up against Prince Nicholas and Rosalie which would make some intense scenes. I am loving Nicholas’s as a bad boy and it has waken up his sleepy character. Come on GH, do not disappoint us. Hayden, Nicholas, and Rosalie need more storylines. 🙂
It’d be great to see her back, but from everything I’ve read the big Jake reveal won’t happen until this fall. Does Billy Miller really only have a one year contract with GH that expires in October? That worries me for the reveal.
Thats what I’ve been saying. Jake becomes Jason and Billy’s contract expires!
Given how everyone reacted when she was written off of the series, it would not surprise me if she were being re-written back into the series.
I felt like RB was just starting to hit her stride when she left, so it will be interesting to see what she does next. I miss Britt’s scheming, so this character fills that role nicely. She could be an interesting pairing with Patrick or Dante (though I like him with Lulu), or even Sonny.
I do think the character of Robin should be back to balance Hayden, especially since Elizabeth has gone crazy. Perhaps it’s time to recast with Elizabeth Hendricks.
I hope she stays forever. I think she is GREAT with Nikolas. And speaking of the mighty prince, may I say Tyler Christopher ROCKS the evil prince role. He gives me chills!

Then they have time to write a really good story for her and Nik..

Do you mean ‘bury Denise’ literally? That’s one way. Ava could also be found not guilty, with new evidentiary info…declare her innocent posthumously. Then, poof!!!! Ava re-appears saying she was convalescing somewhere, after she was fished out of the water…..she could even have had amnesia. I am sure the writers will think of something. How hard could it be? It will be a cockamamie story, wether we buy it or not; but, it will happen. Later.

WAKE UP HAYDEN! She has truly been one of the bright spots on GH in 2015. I hadnt been aware of her previous work so I didnt know what to expect. She is pretty and a pretty good actress. I love her instant chemistry with Jake and Nick. She is a fire bomb waiting to explode! She just needs to wake up and it seems like her birthday wish is coming true!
Timm, Hayden is fun and doesn’t bother me the way the other cartoon figures on GH do. I attribute this to Rebecca’s performance.
Moreover, Hayden coming to toe with Lizzy brought out the best in the latter party.
I just wish the writing afforded to this character was better. But the actress is pitch perfect.

When we first heard Rebecca was joining the GH cast, I was so excited….I knew her work from AMC. I knew she would deliver without fail, and, boy, did she deliver….in spades!! I think TPTB are keeping Rebecca on ice until the floor is swept clean. And, also to see the audience’s feedback.
Yes, she’s gorgeous and has a magnetic personality.
Furthermore, all of us who watch Y&R gave Billy Miller the same accolades, applause and honor. He is spectacular and appetizing…LOL.
CeeCee, your own to something. Even though I want Sam and “Jason” back together, Billy and Rebecca would be pure magic if they were to fall in love. But I’ll take Sam and Jason and I would love to see Hayden and Nick. They both have THAT secret and their passionate love sessions would make 50 shades blush!
Did anyone else find the threesome scene of Laura, Luke andHolly hilarious????. I am still laughing…

Why, yes, CeeCee, I did! However, I found the spirited, yet civilized, private little “b-fest” in which Holly and Laura engaged to be even more amusing! It was concise, but classy……and now that the air has been cleared between these two “Loves of Luke,”—-historical revisionism aside—-it should be interesting to see what further transpires! (I only wish Anna were around to join the party, along with Robert, of course!) The ongoing discussion of “Bill Eckert” made me wonder if this legendary “red herring” could indeed still be alive and holding Luke’s two sons? Or could it be Bill’s boy, Sly? I really don’t even want to allow my mind to go there again, because there are so many excellent candidates for the “kidnapper”……many quite obvious, and others not so much! I shall defer my theories to the appropriate thread, but let’s just say the possibilities are nearly endless! I certainly hope that it will be an awesome and unexpected surprise! By the way, it would seem that not only have we once again “rattled the cage,” but we have reawakened the ire of the beast!!!!! LMAO! I guess we’re just unforgettable, CeeCeeGirl!!!! P.S. Today I posted my praises for Luke. I am starting to like him….too bad this character is being stored away. I so understand what all the hoopla is about concerning Luke. I simply loved today’s scene between him and Lucky. The entire premise of the easy camaraderie between father and son was so poignant….yet, not mushy.
The meeting between Liz and her little son brought me to tears….however, inexplicably, I wanted more. I don’t know what; but, something was missing for me.
I am just waiting with bated breath as the BigJake storyline climaxes and all hell breaks loose. I want this to finally come to a happy end….Gnite.

I’ve replied to you again and again….I’d like to think that my thoughts have personally reached you, but such doesn’t seem to be the case–to say it’s frustrating is an understatement! By the way, I don’t think of you as spoiled….you are actually very well-grounded and quite down-to-earth…surely most others in your shoes would not prove to be so genuine, kind and personable….that’s the difference the right upbringing makes! At any rate, I’m glad you enjoyed your MV break….I can completely relate to your complexion dilemma….I’m also extremely fair, and my mother was always very careful with my delicate skin, as well. Both of my parents are likewise….I have a hilarious photograph of them on a New York beach and they both look white as sheets! But I’m actually grateful, because it kept me from attempting a tan, and so I’ve practically no sun-damage….ditto for my mom! (No decrepit décolletages in our family….or really any wrinkles, so to speak…Thanks Mom!..LOL!) Of course, I loathe the summer heat and humidity anyway, so staying out of the sun has never been that much of a burden for me. (I’ll bet even without suntans your little blonde cherubs and you look absolutely beautiful….pale and interesting is so classy and chic!) Anyway, yes, I have noticed some of your Luke musings….AG truly has risen to the occasion in his dealings with the fantastic JJ as Lucky. That’s just a taste of the GH of yesterday, so perhaps now you can understand why so many of us are less than complimentary about the characters, storylines and performances we generally witness in today’s Port Charles. I just saw tomorrow’s preview-looks like we’ll be back to the status quo–oh my! Having said that, I get your point about Liz and Jake (Jr.)..the initial encounter gave me goosebumps, but now what? Will there be a continuing saga about the child’s adjustment to his new surroundings, a wrench thrown into this happy reunion with possible psychological ramifications of what this precious little man endured at the hands of Helena, AND will he ultimately be good or evil? That would be an excellent subject to broach, but part of me thinks Jake will just be shipped to “Gran’s” with Liz’s other two kiddos, rarely to be seen again…since Cartini often drop promising ideas for future plots. Besides, all eyes will now be on Big Jake–how many more people must discover his true identity before the secret is unveiled???? It is getting well past the time for Jason Quartermaine to be revealed….Billy Miller has done an excellent job as an amnesiac, but he should be even better when his real life history is made known to one and all. I will never understand why some comments, which constantly harp on the same subject, over and over, targeting me and you, are posted and ours are not…..including some of my posts to Harry.
This woman will not cease and desist. Anytime I make a comment which does not agree with her or I disagree with another poster, she just jumps in and repeats the same stuff from almost a year ago, which is spun into something grotesque….it just keeps growing. When will it stop. The moderators should actually put a stop to it. I call it harassment. What a lonely, suffocatingly spiteful life some people live.
So, I ask, how does that happen without consequence? Not fair.
I do not hate any of the actors or actresses. I do not ever even use the word ‘hate’. It is a horrible word.
I can see that you’re not very happy about some of the humdrum characters we will see on tomorrow’s episode…..back to the grindstone, Shay…LOL. To be honest, I, too, would like some movement. This Ava/Denise travesty needs to end; the Nina infantile storyline is not holding my interest…Michelle does not deserve this. And, Maddie, (I know you love her) needs to start acting like a mother. We are fed the same bland polenta on a daily basis. We did get a break from the ennui with the latest Dante, Luke, little Jake development, but now….here we go again.

I cannot understand it either, CeeCee. The same rules for posting here should apply to one and all…especially when we are repeatedly moderated, and not just in our responses to each other. I’ve had many a reply to Harry, Timmm, Fanny, jimh, etc. also evaporate, and on a variety of subjects….I can accept that it happens, but what I cannot for the life of me comprehend is why that vituperative virago’s vitriol is permitted to stand, while we are most often not even allowed to defend ourselves against her consistent, monotonous bullying. Furthermore, it is beyond me why a single person’s animosity-laden views and objections are given a place of prominence over all others….it truly beggars belief! I certainly don’t love, agree with or approve of many an opinion I’ve read here, but I would never presume to so rudely excoriate another individual simply because their perspective doesn’t comport with mine….that’s just plain uncivilized! I’m in complete agreement with you…….I would simply like to see this uncalled-for harassment entirely stopped…it’s gone on for quite long enough and is not fair to neither us, nor other posters who are repeatedly prompted to join in the disparagement of our comments. I would most definitely never refer to it again if it were dispensed with on a permanent basis. As for the true purpose of visiting this thread…..the discussion of GH….yes, I am very sorry to see a return to the jejune business of those lesser than characters which have inhabited the Port Charles canvas for far too long….Denise is stale, Nina is an exercise in complete futility, Val-Chops and her adulterous plotting are utterly repulsive and as for Sappy…well, you already know! Other than the appearance of Silas on today’s episode, it looks to be “bland polenta” indeed! However, I remain hopeful that it is but the briefest of resumptions for these players and we will soon pivot back to the stories of Jake Jr. and Sr., Luke, Laura, Liz, and yes, even Tracy and Paul….that guy’s a real keeper!!!…I’ve already totally embraced him as part of the GH family, which just goes to show that a new cast addition can be welcomed and appreciated when it is well done!!!! 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Nominations Announced: ‘The Young and the Restless’ Tops With 18, ‘Beyond the Gates’ With 16
The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) today announced the full list of nominees for the upcoming 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, and it was CBS daytime’s The Young and the Restless and broadcast television newest soap opera, Beyond the Gates that racked up the most nominations with 18 and 16, respectively.
The full reveal on Tuesday follows the announcement of several major categories including Lead Actor and Actress on Monday via Extra and Entertainment Tonight and The View today revealing Daytime Drama Series and more.
The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmys ceremony is set to take place on Friday, October 30 at the historic Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, California.

In a statement, Adam Sharp, President and CEO of NATAS expressed, “We’re proud to honor the extraordinary talent and creative teams whose work continues to define and elevate daytime television, As the Daytime landscape evolves and new forms of storytelling emerge, we remain committed to recognizing the innovation happening across the industry.”
“Each year, the Daytime Emmy Awards celebrate the creativity, passion, and dedication that drive this vibrant community of storytellers,” said Rachel Schwartz, Head of the Daytime Emmy Awards. “Congratulations to this year’s nominees, whose work continues to entertain, inspire and connect with audiences every day. We look forward to celebrating their remarkable achievements in Hollywood this October.”
The Daytime Emmy Awards have recognized outstanding achievement in television programming and crafts since 1974, honoring work in a variety of genres, including daytime dramas, talk series, entertainment news, culinary, adventure, instructional and legal/courtroom programming.
This year’s Lifetime Achievement Honoree, Gold & Silver Circle Inductees, and ceremony host will be announced at a later date.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’
The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16
General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
