After a few months in the “rumor” mill, but what we all knew just had to be true, Lisa Rinna is officially returning to Days of Our Lives as Billie Reed!

The Hollywood Reporter exclusively broke the confirmation of Rinna’s return today that was first brought to light by The Huffington Post!  Rinna is now going to be on contract with the NBC soap and her first episode will air on March 8th of the New Year.

According to THR: “While details of her story arc are being kept under wraps, network officials confirm that she will share “explosive” scenes with on-screen mother Kate (Lauren Koslow) and her former flame, Bo (Peter Reckell).”

Rinna stated,”I am so thrilled to be back and excited to be acting again. I have done reality shows, talk shows and I thought, what a great way to come back and play a character that I love to play so much. Feels very full circle — like a new old chapter.”

In more recent years, Rinna has been on Celebrity Apprentice, Dancing with the Stars and of course soapers remember her as the co-host of Soap Talk with Ty Treadway and her time on Melrose Place.

Welcome home to Salem, Lisa!

I really never cared for her, or as Billy Reed, I always hated her story with Bo.
Hope had to deal with NOT being the only woman in his life.
Chasing after a daughter Bo & Billy shared ruined the Bo & Hope Story.

Cool! I hope this will be more like the first time she was on the show than the last time!

Lisa’s Billie was best with Robert Kelker Kelly’s Bo and I loved her friendship with Carrie. If the new writers do it right it will be great.

have always liked and watched lisa rinna in whatever she does…. i do agree that she had the best chemistry with robert kelker kelly. that would make her return all the more interesting and worth welcoming her back. that would be a hot duo. she worked well enough with bo… although knowing bo and hope “belong” together… story lost steam… would be more interesting than carrie and austin… and even sami and rafe. heck better than john and marlena… however long she plays out… she intrigues me

I always loved Lisa Rinna as Billie Reed. She had tremendous chemistry with Robert Kelker-Kelly. Maybe the writers can bring RKK back – even as a different character. To see RKK and LRheating up again would be great!! I loved the two of them!! Bring Robert back with Lisa.
