Jay Kenneth Johnson Returns To DAYS; How Will Phillip Kiriakis Shake-Up The Canvas?

Courtesy/NBC

Longtime fan favorite, Jay Kenneth Johnson last seen on the DOOL app series, Last Blast Reunion in 2019, is now returning to Days of our Lives airshows as Phillip Kiriakis when he arrives back in Salem next week.  Circle Tuesday, August 18th for Phillip’s re-emergence.

Now the questions become: what will his arrival mean for Titan Industries and the Kiriakis family? Will Kate (Lauren Koslow) help her son rise to power? Will Phillip fall back in love with Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin), whom he seem to reconnect with on the Last Blast Reunion series? Will the Phillip/Shawn (Brandon Beemer) feud reignite over Belle (Martha Madison)? All of the above.

Johnson first played the role of Phillip back in 1999 to 2002 and then again in from 2007-20011, before reprising his role in 2019 on the app series.

Phillip was played by John-Paul Lavosier and Kyle Brandt between the times Johnson was gone from the series.

So, excited for Jay’s return to DAYS? Do you hope Phillip and Chloe become a bonafide couple given their history? Share your thoughts via the comment section, and check out the promo heralding the return of Phillip below.

I barley watch anymore..lost interest….Horton Home gone…too many cast changes..too much mind control/amnesia stories, return from the dead, kidnappings…bring back the Horton Home, why not show these people at the office like Y&R does with problems and conflicts there…get rid of the cardboard boxes known as the town square….more stable cast please instead of some leaving and retruning then those leave and the others return, maybe my interest will be renewed but im nearly done with the show for good!!!

No revisting the “triangle” for Hell’s sake. For one thing, it wouldn’t make any sense to have REAL Phillip in a triangle with fake Shawn & fake Belle. Of course the real Belle ain’t ever coming back, and apparently real Shawn is no longer interested if she’s not there. Or that’s how we heard the story down here in Hell. Didn’t watch the Last Blast reunion, and since it never turned up on NBC.com like the Chad & Abigail thing did, I probably never will see it. (Don’t watch TV on a 5″ telephone screen with my ancient Devil eyes)… Read more »

Looking forward to his return. I hope they have good story for him. Also, he needs a haircut. 🙂

Could he be Allie’s baby daddy? I know Philip is a bit older than Allie and was married to Belle, but it was just a thought I had with him returning.

Phillip is Lucas’s brother, and therefore Allie’s uncle. So that would just be 666 degrees of wrong.

Chrishell Stause Makes a Return to Days of our Lives

You just never know who you will find in purgatory (ah-hem) on Days of our Lives ! And now, in a surprise return, Chrishell Stause reprises her role of Jordan Ridgeway in all new episodes on the Peacock streaming soap opera.

In the latest promo released on Friday, Chrishell is seen in the ‘afterlife’ as Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) runs into Jordan … her old arch-nemesis! Let the games begin.

Stause, who is one of the mainstays of the Netflix reality series, Selling Sunset, comes back to her old stomping grounds at DAYS just as Kayla (Mary Beth Evans), Marlena (Deidre Hall) and Kate have ‘died’ and have all landed in this white space which looks to be heaven, but really is hell in disguise, especially given Marlena’s latest visit with Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk), who seemingly reveals herself to be possessed by Satan.

Chrishell made her DAYS debut back in August of 2013 and exited the series on March 9th of 2015.  Stause returned in 2019 until Jordan finally met her demise. She returned once again in 2020 in a series of flashbacks.

Watch the promo for next week’s DAYS below.

Now let us know, what do you think of Chrishell returning to DAYS to raise some hell for Kate and company? Comment below.

In the category of Daytime Drama, only Days of our Lives was nominated, thus DAYS becomes the automatic winner as the sole nominee.

The nominated and winning DAYS writing team consists of: Head Writer Ron Carlivati; Writers Lorraine Broderick, Jazmen Darnell Brown, Joanna Cohen, Carolyn Culliton, Richard Culliton, Cheryl Davis, Kirk Doering, Christopher Dunn, Jamey Giddens, David Kreizman, Ryan Quan, Dave Ryan, Katherine D. Schock.

DAYS head writer, Ron Carlivati shared in a statement: “My team and I are thrilled to be nominated for the 2023 Writers Guild Award for Daytime.  We submitted three scripts from the storyline about Craig’s late-in-life coming out, the impact it had on his wife, Nancy, and of course, his ill-fated romance with the ever-scheming Leo. We felt that these episodes were a good representation of what Days of our Lives does best: high-stakes family drama with a comedic twist.”
