On the heels of her husband, Les Moonves ouster from CBS on Sunday, The Talk and Big Brother host, Julie Chen announced today that she is stepping away from the afternoon talker for a few days this week to be with her family.

Chen told Deadline in a statement: “I am taking a few days off from The Talk to be with my family. I will be back soon and will see you Thursday night on Big Brother.”

The 9th season of the Daytime Emmy Award-winning talk show premiered on Monday without Chen on the host panel.

When the first accusations surfaced of sexual misconduct by Moonves, the talk show and Big Brother host, stood by the ousted CBS chairman expressing: “I have known my husband, Leslie Moonves, since the late ’90s, and I have been married to him for almost 14 years. Leslie is a good man and a loving father, devoted husband and inspiring corporate leader. He has always been a kind, decent and moral human being. I fully support my husband and stand behind him and his statement.”

A new set of allegations from six other women surfaced on Sunday in article in the New Yorker

Julie probably knew about SOME of the old allegations BEFORE they were a couple and dismissed them BUT if there are any physical violations, Les needs to pay the piper and Julie needs to shack up with Matt Laurer’s wife! Dont get me wrong, women go on power trips to and make guys lives a miserable hell but that doesnt get reported. Me, I dont want to be touched unless its consensual!

Guess she’ll be out of her (two) job (s). Nepotism doesn’t work! Nor sexual assualts–though he (almost) got away with both.

Let’s hope he doesn’t get away with all the millions they’ve reported that could be in his golden handshake.

She got the gig for Big Brother way before she knew Les beyond being her boss at the time. And she was recommended for the hosting job as the show’s producers were looking for someone with a news background to carry the show live (hence the birth of the Chenbot).

Well The Talk certainly has things to talk about; themselves. First Sarah had her little Roseanne scandal and now Julie has her hubby woes.

The one thing that separates these people is that they truly do adhere to “the show must go on.” LOL; and they keep on truckin’.

Minus Julie! And I knew that she would do this today. But this latest scandal won’t stop me from watching CBS.

Seeing as how your name (real or otherwise) is on most lips today, from fans of Y&R, I thought I’d just make a comment here. I applaud Julie’s loyalty to her husband, but can not help feeling very sorry for her plight, as all eyes are on her at this time. The scandals right now, seem to be more exciting than the shows themselves. Yes, I’ll be watching CBS also, as I don’t thing spiting myself would really help anyone.

FYI, Violet, my name is for real, and it has been since July 27, 1958. But I’m sure that you know that there is more than one PAUL WILLIANS in this world. There’s a lot of us out there, and not just in TV. Don’t forget, I also share my name with the famous actor, singer & songwriter of the 70’s.
Just thought you should know that.

Hi Paul, didn’t mean to upset you. I just found it ironic, seeing the name a lot of us were talking about, and his treatment at Y&R, Doug Davidson, aka,Paul Williams. Of course I remember the sweet P.W and his singing. He also acted years ago on B&B for a while.

PAUL WILLIAMS

Yes,I do remember that, and I even had the opportunity to meet him, too. And for the rwcord, I was not upset at you, so no worries!

I watch a lot of CBS so I have been interested in seeing how they would handle the Les story. Give them credit on their news programs because they reported what he was accused of. It must have been especially hard for the morning program crew since Charlie Rose was gone in a day after the sexual abuse stories came out about him, and they really looked up to him. So I purposely watched The Talk the day after allegations came out about Les, and saw Julie’s support of her husband. Today Julie wasn’t on as MF reported, but her co-hosts supported her which I though was very nice of them. One big thing I have learned through all the revelations of power/sexual abuse at all levels, is only The Shadow knows what lies in the heart of people.

Don’t see how she can ever come back to The Talk after hearing her co-host. Awkward?!

@Rose….Before you go feeling any sympathy for “The Chenbot,” just consider that she was already carrying on with this glittering jewel of moral inturpitude whilst he was still married to his first wife. That right there showed what he was made of in terms of human decency—-or lack thereof— so if his now-exposed filthy behavior sullies her reputation as well, it wouldn’t be totally undeserved. Perhaps they were made for each other….

Hi Shay…Didn’t know about their history. You wonder when this kind of behavior, especially the power trip abuse, will ever stop. Seems both have been here since day one, and not in just the great halls of power. Infidelity has been good for soap story lines. At least the abuse of power has been addressed in GH with the KiKi/Dr. Bensch/and, dare I say, Alexis story. As for Julie, I think her days are numbered at CBS. Especially after the news today where the guy heading 60 Minutes has just been fired for abuse of power, and touchy, touchy.

@Rose…Their history has been well-publicized in the past, and it was just covered again this week in various articles, so it was fresh in my mind. And you know what they say…when a man marries his mistress, he creates a vacancy…seems multiple vacancies in this case! It really is all a bit much, huh? This repetitious, real-life storyline is getting very stale, very fast..no wonder we find refuge in old-fashioned shows like “Downton Abbey!” Of course, there were immorality tales spun within its tapesty, too, but at least nobody acted like such behavior was normal and acceptable…I personally found the indignation regarding it rather refreshing! And on that subject, filming on the latest project has commenced as we speak….cannot wait to view the finished product!!! By the by, I responded to your last post regarding Maggie Smith, but alas, my reply didn’t make it online, which left me rather mystified…I could not imagine what could be considered objectionable about discussing English dames and Downton Abbey!!! Whatever…always good to chat with you, Rose!

How can she? Just AWFUL details about her husband’s violence and cruelty. She CAN protect herself and her son. Don’t think she can come back to TV–not right now, anyway.

OK…you know what: I wish that CBS would dump Julie Chen…NOW!!!!! A while back, remember when she threw BOTH Holly Robinson-Peete and Leah Remini under the bus?!?!? And besides…I can think of AT LEAST 10 women that can replace Chen on The Talk…PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!

Hey…just saying…

Let’s Talk, It’s a beautiful thing to stand by your man but before you support him, listen to your guts. A man going to be a man and they are not honest or loyal but majority of woman won’t bring scandal or shame on their family. That boys will be boys is what got men thinking with their pecker instead of there brain.

BIG BROTHER: Down To The Final Three!

When Big Brother left-off; Sam was sent packing in Wednesday’s special eviction as we came down to the final four.  It was then between Angela, Kaycee, JC, and Tyler, and one was evicted on Thursday’s episode.  In addition, host Julie Chen once again announced, this time at the top of the show, that her name is “Julie Chen-Moonves”.

via GIPHY

“Expect the unexpected” is the slogan for the show so it was a bit surprising when we saw JC win the HOH competition … especially considering he’s never won a competition before the entire season.  This meant that one of the Level 6 members will be sent to the jury house … but who? It all comes to the Power of Veto competition.  Whoever wins it will get the final decision, because only one person will vote this week.

All of Level 6 knew it was every man for themselves as it has to be one of them.  The competition required both skill and balance, and everyone was determined to win it. Unfortunately for JC, he was the first one eliminated followed by Tyler. It came down to Kaycee and Angela, and it was Kaycee who took to win! This meant that the Level 6 showmance of Angela and Tyler must be broken up.

via GIPHY

It was a hard decision for Kaycee as she considers both Tyler and Angela as “best friends”.  Ultimately, she had a final two deal with Tyler and decided to keep him by exiting Angela.  We’re now down to the final 3. (filed by Jake Updegraff- Big Brother correspondent)

Who do you think will win… Tyler, JC, or Kaycee? Let us know in the comments below and tune-in to the 90-minute finale on Wednesday night, September 26th on CBS to find out.

Julie Chen Says Goodbye To THE TALK Via Video Message

As anticipated on Tuesday, Julie Chen officially and publicly exited The Talk.  Through a videotaped message to her co-hosts, viewers and staff and behind the scene personnel, Chen wrapped-up her run.

While Chen has bowed out of The Talk following her husband Les Moonves’ removal from CBS following allegations of sexual misconduct, she will continue on through the end of this season as the host of the reality-competition series, Big Brother.

On The Talk, Eve tossed to Chen’s videotaped exit message which the ladies of the panel also saw for the first time during the live broadcast:

Here is what Julie shared: “I have been at THE TALK since the day it started 9 years ago, and the cast, crew and staff have become family to me over the years. But right now, I need to spend more time at home with my husband and our young son, so I’ve decided to leave THE TALK. I want to thank everyone at the show for the wonderful years together. I will always, always cherish the memories we shared. Most important, I want to thank you, the viewers, for allowing me into your home every day. It was a privilege that I will forever be grateful for. To everyone behind the scenes, I send you my love. I will miss you all very, very much. To Eve: you’re the newest one at the table, but I feel like I’ve known you forever. You are even more beautiful inside than you are on the outside, if that’s even possible, because, you know I think you are flawless. Sheryl, thank you for being the perfect go-to partner for the last 7 years. I open, you close, and you always bring down the house. We called ourselves “The Book Ends,” remember? And we always laughed when we said it to each other. Your wit, and timing, and humor, and compassion, and intelligence is simply unparalleled. You are incredible. Carrie Ann (Inaba), I don’t know, but in my opinion, you look awful good sitting in that chair, my Asian sister. I’m just saying! And finally, to Sara and Sharon: we’ve been together since day one at THE TALK! I’ve spent every day with you both. I will always treasure our friendship, the great parenting advice from both of you, and the memories and laughs and all the private jokes that the three of us have shared. We are the original three musketeers. I love you all, and I know this show, and the sisterhood it stands for, will live on for many, many, many more years to come. You ladies got this, and I could not be more proud to call you my friends. I love you.”

Following the video, Sara Gilbert, creator and co-host of The Talk  thanked Chen for being a major part of the series ongoing success, as Sheryl Underwood looked on in tears.

Watch Julie’s goodbye below.  Then let us know what you thought of the sentiments shared by her via the comment section below.

Julie Chen To Step Down From ‘The Talk’

As of Monday night, the only hosting gig that Julie Chen has resumed since her husband, Les Moonves was ousted as CBS Chairman is Big Brother on CBS.

Chen had yet to return to her seat at the table as the anchor of the Daytime Emmy Award-winning series, The Talk.

Moonves has been accused of sexual misconduct with new allegations surfacing in the New Yorker as recent as just the other week.

Tonight, Page Six is reporting that Julie is walking away from The Talk and will resign.

CNN is also reporting that Chen has made the decision and it is effective immediately and that she will address her decision through a videotaped message to viewers on Tuesday’s episode of The Talk

The competition in the daytime talk space, the ladies of The View, voiced that they think there is no way for Chen to return to the panel of The Talk, especially since the CBS series addresses the hot social topics of the day and the #MeToo movement which is so much of our culture these days,

The only statement Chen has made on the new allegations against Moonves, is that she is standing by him when she signed off on a recent episode of Big Brother saying:  “I’m Julie Chen Moonves. Good Night.”

So, do you think Julie stepping down from The Talk is the right choice?  Is she in no-win situation? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
