Kelly Monaco on Steve Burton's Exit From GH: "They're Wrapping Up A Nine-Year Relationship!"

Get ready JaSam fans! General Hospital is prepping the exit storyline for Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and that means it could spell the end of the road for Jason and Sam, or does it? General Hospital’s Kelly Monaco (Sam) spoke to Access Hollywood.com about Burton’s impending exit, where Kelly admitted, “They’re wrapping up a nine-year relationship.” Monaco also revealed she has an inkling of how Jason will exit Port Charles, and she said it’s likely to be “pretty dramatic.”
Kelly who is getting ready to hit the ballroom dance floor once again in the Dancing with the Stars All-Stars competition which begins a week from this coming Monday on ABC, says thinking about Burton’s last tape date is not easy! “Man, I haven’t even been able to cross that bridge yet. I don’t like goodbyes,” she said. “I’d like to think that he’s just gonna take a little vacation and come back. I know it might be wishful thinking.”
As Kelly begins to pull double-duty, (at a time where she originally thought her workload would be lessened at GH for DWTS prior to the news of Burton’s exit) she sat down with Access Hollywood for a video interview with her dance partner, Val Chmerkovskiy. Awww Steve and Kelly have such a great friendship and working relationship. While I am not a JaSam fan, I am certinly going to miss their chemistry.
However, I am happy for Steve and the decision he mde for himself and his family and I am also exemely excited to see Kelly on DWTS once again! 🙂 I will endlessly voting for her.

I love Jason and Sam! I hope that they reunite and find their son. Steve and Kelly have an amazing and rare chemistry that just captivates you and pulls you in. Together they have created an epic soap couple and portrayed a memorable love story. I will miss seeing them onscreen together. I hope JaSam and their son will have time to bond as a family before Steve leaves. I wish the best of luck to Steve in his future endeavors and I am completely 100% Team Kelly for DWTS. I’m so excited to watch her compete again. Best of luck to both Steve and Kelly!

I used to be a JaSam fan, but the longer they were together, the less I liked them. The final straw was when Jason couldn’t/wouldn’t accept Sam’s baby and basically asked her to abort. That was it…DONE.
Not going to miss Jason and I hope Sam moves on with John. He at least would respect and accept her.

I will miss Steve Burton as Jason because he is a large part of GH. Although I wish him the best of luck with his future I will miss the character of Jason. Hope the door stays open for a return some day. His last day won’t be a happy one for me.

Steve B is at the heart of this show. It’s going to have an ’empty spot’ when he’s gone. At first, I was not a Jasam fan, but I am now. They are ‘real’….both Jason and Sam are guarded with their feelings and to see them together, the chemistry just works. It’s going to be a very sad day indeed. I prefer to go with what Kelly said and think that he’s just going to be on extended leave. I wish Kelly the very best on DWTS. She’s been my fave from all the seasons. I hope she wins again. It’s great exposure for GH and soaps in general. Long live GH!
Dis agree he is not the heart of the show! Yor are insulting not only the rest of the cast but GH fans that have been with the show from the start! He might think he is but I don’t! The heart is the Hospital and the cast around it. IMO He along with the characters Sonny, and Carly took it away from the Hospital. Along with JFP and Guza. I remember when he was in that accident and he went from a Quatermaine to a Morgan and Luke introduced Sonny a saw a change in the soap that a loved and was forced to tune out when all I saw was three faces on the screen and gone where the GH vets sacrificed to give them more airtime! I am finally loving it again because it is going back to the HEART of the show!

I have no clue how they are going to send Jason out but the fans deserve something great so I have high hopes.
It’s said that we’re losing “JaSam” after all of these years, but I cannot stand Jason as a stand-alone character. I’m kind of happy he’s departing the series. Now he needs to take Sonny with him.

Well Jason has Spinelli ck. the dna results …And will confirm that Sam’s baby isn’t dead….And in the process find out that he is the father not his crazy brother Franco…. Reveal all this too Sam & make her & him very happy….Then Jason has to come back to every so often to his son….And doesn’t blame Jason for the death of her son & couldn’t sign the divorce papers…..That’s why she ran over his apt. to tell him but saw Jason kissing Elizabeth ……I think everything will end on a happy note & it will be intense……………….I don’t know about Sam getting together with John???? I wish Steve Burton the best of everything and his wife & children..They can spend some quality time together…….Hope to see him back in Port Charles for a long visit !!!!!!
Kelly and Steve’s chemistry works together so well in portraying JaSam in love or in angst. I’m going with Kelly’s way of coping which is hoping that Steve is just going on an extended vacation and that he will be back one day to spread some Stelly Magic for the JaSam fans on
screen in the future.
Here’s hoping RC writes JaSam something befitting the love their portrayer’s have showcased in such an adorable way over the years as a parting gift to their fans.

I will miss Steve Burton. He has been a huge part of GH for so many year’s. I love Sam with John McBain . When those two look into each other’s eye’s up close I see a passion I never noticed with her and Jason. When Jason is gone I will miss his character but I will be able to carry on with Sam and John. Those two are red hot together. If Steve were to stay and continued on with Elizabeth he would of had a boring storyline. Miss goody two shoes is a bore. She never could accept Jason being in the mob. She didn’t want him around her kid’s. I don’t know why she is even pursuing him. Somehow I can’t see Jason getting out of her bed and grabbing his gun to go kill someone for Sonny.
Not sure Sam being with John ?????? The other day John looked at a picture of Natalie & Liam that he carry’s with him all the time…..If he is with Sam he can’t simply forget them….Natalie & Liam are alway’s in John’s mind….Are a big chunk of his life…
For sure! John had a 9-year relationship with Natalie, too! And it’s not over, he’s still in love with her! So Melissa Archer as Natalie has simply GOT to come to GH!

I think its perfect storyline but still many like myself well, I dont like Sam without Jason although they were dry as a couple.
I wish Steve all the best and will miss his “relationship” with Kelly. It would be good to recast Jason because GH has lost so many Quartermaines. With regards to Kelly on DWTS I won’t be watching because I’m boycotting ABC except for GH. Won’t vote online either because votes are counted as viewers.

I will truly miss Steve playing our beloved Jason Morgan. He has really carried the show in
a big way all these years. I’ve enjoyed watching him all of his 21 years on GH. But my all time
favorite story lines have been these past 9 years when the heart throb Jason Morgan met and fell
deeply in love with the beautiful Sam Mc Call!! What a hot and magnetizing couple they have
been. I’ve watched GH for many many years, and the JASAM COUPLE have had the most funny,
adventurest, exciting, and HOTTEST story lines on the show, until the writers broke them up this year!
I really hope that they have Jason and Sam, along with their own little baby reunite before Steve leaves
the show!!!! We will truly miss you Steve, and our favorite Jason Morgan character. When you do
leave, there will be sooooooo many tears shed from your true fans. Please come back someday…..

I am honestly happy for you but do you know how many times I have cried to certain parts like the two times sam lost her baby and how much shit you and kelly have been through on the show…. you and sonny maurice are the two main characters in this show and without you its gonna suck because maurice isnt good without you….anyways good luck with your future I just hope you come back for jasams future….

If Jason is killed off and not going to be replaced, I’m not watching General Hospital anymore and I have watched for many, many years.
Seems everybody who leaves, for whatever reason, has to be killed. There’s got to be something better for people who exit General Hospital.

GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Serena Sets Her Sights on Michael; Jason’s Emotional Exit from the Mob
This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”
Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.
Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. She tells her, “Pick out your most seductive suit.” Soon, we see Serena in her bathing suit at the Metro Court face to face with Michael.
Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.
Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80
Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.
PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
